between slot and video poker which is more technical and requires skills to play?

You can actually get some positive EV out of Video Poker if you play the right strategy over the long run. So certainly there are strategies when it comes to Video Poker that allows you to get the best outcome.

However, slots is completely luck based.

Depends on what you want out of the experience, really. You can get a great time playing slots, or get a better player return with video poker but be a bit stressed out about remembering basic strategy.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spain bans betting adds - no celebrities, no sport sponsorship, no daytime adds on: September 12, 2021, 08:18:06 PM
I think Spain government has taken this drastic measure because it has seen a huge spike in gambling from young people of age 18-25 which is the future of the country being impacted by those ads and not being that effective in their society and work. Most teams in Spain are sponsored and has always been sponsored by such ventures, gambling ones and they will lose a good portion of their revenue.Spain has taken this measure because it is affecting its economy by taking a huge portion of the youth absorbed in gambling as I see no other explanation to be such aggressive in a new law.

Unfortunately this is not a long term solution.

The root cause of young people gambling is definitely not this. People don't feel the urge to gamble just because they see a celebrity/athlete wear the banner of a certain sportsbook company on their jersey.

Rather, there is clearly some underlying greater economic issue that needs addressing. Why are people finding the time/motivation to want to gamble? Addressing the symptoms is not a good way to tackle a problem.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: September 10, 2021, 09:51:11 PM
I actually enjoy the chance-based games a lot more.

It is very difficult to get good in the skills based categories and generally you will always find that someone is better than you in a particular game. For instance, poker has a very steep learning curve and you're generally going to lose to the more seasoned veterans.

I just want to have some fun without stressing over my decisions. Hence chance-based.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best crypto gambling sites that accept players from USA! on: September 09, 2021, 11:44:11 AM
I think using Tor is different from using a VPN, although i think using them is considering as using a 3rd party software for location masking.
Using Tor will assure you full anonymity but not to forget that it's somehow hard to be anonymous when using a centralised service with money.
Even some websites seems not taking so much care about users logging in with VPN, an ID verification is expected to happen for a reason or another like withdraw big amounts or deposit money from suspecious source, authorities may ask the platform to freeze your balances until further verification and you will lose your money tough .

The use of TOR as well as VPN can be detected if desired, so it is better to look for gambling sites without the need to pass KYC and any restrictions. In case you use proxied connection, it is important not to forget that depositing large amounts of money is very dangerous and always be ready to lose your winnings.

Completely agree to this.

People need to be a lot more cautious when it comes to playing on sites with a VPN enabled. It might sound like a good idea at the time of playing but once you try to withdraw you may run into trouble if they request KYC and/or ask for a review of your IP address.

Certainly not something you want to risk thousands of dollars on.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador has just bought it’s first 200 coins on: September 08, 2021, 07:06:42 AM
Excellent news.

I think that this will be a growing trend going into the future. Governments will eventually find a use for decentralized cryptocurrencies and will be forced to adopt them whether they like it or not.

There is huge potential for these cryptocurrencies to serve as reserve assets that are much better than something like gold or silver. El Salvador is the leader in this space regardless of what the World Bank suggests
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not make curiosity to people around you while you are playing gambling. on: September 06, 2021, 10:19:42 PM
I do not hide the fact that I am a gambler.... why hide something you enjoy? I do not enjoy losing money, but it is still a rush... winning some money. I gamble in front of my whole family and some of them are getting the benefits when I win something big. (not often, but it does happen)

The thing is.... gambling should be a fun entertaining activity and not an addiction. Once it gets under your skin and you cannot go without it, then you should stop doing it. (The same goes for eating and alcohol and a lot of other things in life.... even running and Sport.)  Wink

Because people generally tend to see you differently?

Not to mention the wealth of leeches that you will attract as a result of your public flaunting. If you win, people will likely despise you out of jealousy and if you don't, people will think that you're an absolute fool.

Gambling is something that I just keep to myself - plain and simple.

Hey Beparanf -- I know what you mean! I think it's important to us that we're building something that's very trusted, and that means that operating only in countries where we hold a license that protects our players. Maybe we'll expand into some of those countries in the future! It's certainly on my wishlist!

I like this attitude. Very rare.

Highly recommend that people don't use VPNs if you are a blocked region. Just not worth the risk.

@OP, if someone were able to do a workaround and sign up under a forbidden region, what happens to their winnings? Are you still committed to paying them out just like any other user?
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Where to invest my 10,000 USD on: September 06, 2021, 03:03:28 AM
I recently got 10,000 USD after my FD (Fixed deposit) matured and now i want to invest all those in the crypto world as the returns are best here.
Please suggest me different places where i can invest these 10,000 USD in the crypto currency world as i never done big investement in crypto before so please give me some ideas.

I suggest that you don't just put everything in crypto.

$10k USD is a nice chunk of change and I'd probably allocate around 50% of this to stocks and 50% to crypto. That way you make sure that regardless of what the outcome with stock market or the crypto markets are, you are able to fall back on a safety plan.

Also, have you got an emergency fund? Generally 6 months of your expenses is a good place to start.
9  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: STAKE.COM ODDS PROVIDER SCREWED ME OVER HARD on: September 06, 2021, 02:38:38 AM
Yeah that’s my point. The cashout was accepted after 10 failed attempts and gave me way less money. It was a glitch because every time I tried to cashout it was rejected, when I finally stopped trying, it went through again.

It’s quite clear here they have screwed me. You would also assume a diamond player with tons of action would also be taken care of in a situation like this. I’ve cashed out plenty of times. Both for a profit and a loss and this is definitely a glitch.

Maybe try get Stunna's attention on this case, but if support doesn't want to comply with your demands there is nothing further you can do on that front.

From the logs it does seem like that you tried a number of times to cash out to no avail. But of course that is just your side of the story I guess and we do need both sides before a verdict can be reached.
10  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasinorank.com - Reviews and ranking of Crypto Casinos on: September 06, 2021, 02:09:56 AM
The reviews are more like endorsements than anything else - might just be me but this was the impression that I got.

I would also want to see a wider range of the casinos that we have in the crypto space being featured. Right now it's just the select few.

Perhaps instead of waiting for these casinos to hit you up, just go out there and find them yourself. There are plenty of affiliate programs that you can get your hands on that can make you a decent chunk of change.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $50,000 be the resistant price? on: September 06, 2021, 01:05:28 AM
Resistance no longer.

I actually think that if we see some bullishness in the coming days, $50k can actually be established as support.

The crypto markets are more mature now and the volatility indices have dropped off quite substantially, and I think that there is virtually no way we are going below $50k for an extended amount of time now.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Metaverse x Gambling on: September 05, 2021, 05:24:27 AM
Who else thinks that these kind of thing may hit mainstream sooner or later? I don't know if this is something new but seen a  news from Decentral Games that they are launching a play-to-earn Metaverse poker. Others predict next to NFTs boom that it could the the Metaverse hype. Any thoughts?

Quote
Over time, we believe several projects will attempt to deliver play-to-earn architectures. However, due to the state of Decentral Games’ current product and community, DG is in a lucrative position to take advantage of this new wave in gaming with a first-mover advantage. We’ve already built metaverse poker, blackjack, roulette, backgammon, and slots, which are games enjoyed daily by our community through memorable events like live music performances, casino night competitions, poker tournaments, and more.
https://decentral.games/blog/decentral-games-announces-play-to-earn-metaverse-poker-ice-token-rollout

I'm a huge believer.

I think that we will soon see more decentralized casinos coexisting alongside centralized casinos.

Metaverses are gaining a ton of traction especilaly as a way to play games. It's clear that the next progression will be integrating some games of chance into these metaverses through leveraging their tokenized reward platform that requires no KYC to play on.

If done right, this could be a serious blow to the fiat gambling industry.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING!] For gamblers using coins.ph on: September 05, 2021, 04:46:24 AM
Thanks for sharing this.

I think that a lot of people are still trying to use centrally controlled wallets to gamble which is definitely not a good policy to take whatsoever.

These people don't realize that like coins.ph, people can, have, and will get suspended and have their transactions tracked by a range of other crypto exchanges. This is including the well known Coinbase service if they affiliate or play on crypto casinos.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Bullish or nuts? Fidelity predicts $100M bitcoin in 2035 on: September 05, 2021, 04:22:00 AM
Don't think that they're nuts.

Institutions generally have fairly accurate reasons as to why they would predict something to happen. They don't just put out random DDs like the WSB crowd.

Even though this might seem like a far fetched idea, it really is not given the fact that fiat is an ever depreciating asset that will eventually go to zero. BTC, if it indeed becomes the store of value in the world, would definitely reach these sort of valuations as a matter of time.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto will rival or replace crypto in 10 years? on: September 05, 2021, 03:36:49 AM
This has already happened, though.

It's not like people aren't taking BTC seriously right now. That's just a minority of people, and there is a ton of countries and economies that are taking BTC up as a reserve asset or even legal tender currency (e.g. El Salvador).

The future is indeed now, friends.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are athletes also becoming problem gamblers? on: September 04, 2021, 02:22:41 AM
Oh, they're not 'becoming' problem gamblers. They were always somewhat troubled by the idea of easy money I think.

I think that if you look in the news you'll find no shortage of sporting legends that have gone bankrupt due to gambling and other excesses.

It seems to be a mentality thing - they always want to win and they don't understand that gambling isn't one of the things where the effort you put in actually has an affect on the outcome.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Afghanistan replace afghan currency with Bitcoin? on: September 03, 2021, 09:47:00 AM
I think that there is real potential there.

Even though the Taliban will certainly never endorse the currency officially, I think that with the broken fiat system there it will be inevitable that people will seek solutions.

One of the most obvious solutions right now is clearly bitcoin. They will likely not want to transact with USD given their animosity.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin or project dies? When and how? on: September 03, 2021, 04:08:10 AM
There is a good possibility that 5 years from now three quarters of all of the top 20 coins will be different from what it is currently.

I think that it is important to understand the landscape in which we operate in right now. Lots of projects have no real usage case and are severely overhyped and destined for failure because of that.

Even with mega cap companies in the fiat economy, you cannot predict winners. The S&P500 index looks very different to what it was just 10 years ago.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seriously! three times...the individual vs. combined probability. on: September 03, 2021, 02:41:20 AM
Thanks for sharing.

This is the infamous gambler's fallacy. People's predisposition to patterns can often mislead and misinform.

A classic example is precisely this. "If there was 2 greens in a row, then there is no chance that the third one is green!" or "if it's been high for the last 15 rolls, surely the 16th will be low!" are things that I hear so often in gambling communities. Of course, none of these are backed by logic and will break down the more rolls you do.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 03, 2021, 02:23:28 AM
At this point, I doubt. Just look at how he quickly decides to retire because of his irregular heart beating concern last season instead of going just to recovery period but still part of the team. That creates panic and mental stress to him so right away, he retires officially without hesitation. If he will play again, the same scenario might happen again even he is healthy because he already knows the feeling of being under stress.

But who knows though that he's now finally overcome it after several months. But as far as the current rumors about him are concerned, there is no hint coming from him itself that he is really interested to play again. All is that, he was just being cleared as healthy to come back playing at the league.
I don't know his mental state, but if he had decided to stay with the team at that time, he would have been very helpful in the playoff, especially against the Bucks. Anyway, I think his decision to retire was hasty. Maybe he will comment on these rumors about his returning in the coming days.

Health first, always.

It would have been no good for him to return and potentially collapse on the floor during the playoffs. That would have affected the whole team's morale and would have just been an unnecessary risk to take on.

Clearly he weighed up his options and decided against returning last year. But this year seems to be different. I don't expect him to be a huge factor but can definitely be a big body to help out the Nets.
