184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CACH] CACHeCoin released based on scrypt-jane on: April 19, 2015, 05:21:48 AM

Here comes another big run at 20,000 sat.

This Coin is trading rock solid and has legs of iron.  It should be a big week once we get past the 30,000 sat inflection point.

Very low volume recovery https://i.imgur.com/uGERChh.png

Looks like the bulls are tapped out and taking profit where possible without killing the move.

Lets see some more convincing volume to confirm the move back to 20k sat. Right now its looking tired.

Just my personal opinion.
+1
Stay frosty people, this pump looks overcooked & fragile now. It's great to see Vertoe showing Cache some love, but what are the plans ahead? Pump & dump now would be such a shame.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Louisd’or(codename)- first anonymous PoS, CN-based currency (technical review) on: April 19, 2015, 03:54:08 AM
when will you release this?

Would like to know also, any rough eta? This year?
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTR] vTorrent - Share with freedom | Bittrex on: April 18, 2015, 08:17:41 AM
Does anyone have any info on this, a Fibrecoin user says his wallet was drained by a hacker who added a keylogger to vTorrent client.

Just wanted to thanks to MXXXXXX for helping me to try get back my stolen coins.

You are really man of honor.  Wink
Did you get your coins back?

No, bittrex wont help.

Quote from support:

Hi,

Bittrex cannot legally lock accounts without a court order or subpoena.

Thank you,

Ryan
So they have conntrol of your bittrex account too....

The cause of his problems was vtorrent client. It had a backdoor malware implemented with keylogger. Hacker sent his coins to Bittrex but they won`t help without a court order or subpoena.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes coins fail? on: April 18, 2015, 05:47:04 AM
community, people supporting a coin make it work. A 100% clone of bitcoin could wipe out every coin, including btc,  if as little as 5 million people started using it regularly.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitShares Loves Puppies on: April 18, 2015, 04:54:45 AM
Two questions:
1- can bitshares client connect through TOR, if so how?
2- is there a bootstrap download

thanks

Can you provide more info on the vTorrent client, where did he download it from? Was it a quote of the vTorrent dev that had a modified vTorrent? If so when and where was the post?
thanks
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: April 17, 2015, 12:28:53 PM
  • 42.5% will be kept for future funding rounds. We aim to have two more, spaced 1-1.5 years apart, each providing the necessary funds for the next leg of the project.
You cannot run further crowdsales after the coin has started trading because a crowdsale won't work if the price is higher than the market price which it will be no matter what you do: if you set the crowdsale price at or above market price, there will be no incentive to attend and people who want AMP will buy from the market, and if you set the crowdsale price below the market price it will send a strong bearish signal and the market will correct even lower than the set crowdsale price hereby making the crowdsale fail.

hmm, good point, interested to see the response. probably have to have a separate amp2 traded outside the actual social network that is equivalent to amp1 inside???
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why blockchains might want to consider using AT "Turing complete" txs on: April 17, 2015, 12:18:07 PM
Whilst there was some delay with Qora (due to the lead developer not being able to continue on the project) the AT implementation for that blockchain is now completed and being tested (with all tests so far looking good).

The first ACCTs (Atomic Cross-Chain Transfers) between two mainnet blockchains using AT will be taking place before the end of this month (I expect some press will appear about this).

AT has been running for nearly 6 months now without any issues on the Burst blockchain so I hope that some skeptics might take a deeper look at the very practical and successful "Turing complete" Smart Contract implementation that AT is.

Note also that we are still keen to know if any LLVM devs want to be a part of this project.

Congratulations CIYAM, a great achievement!! A great moment for crypto movement.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NODE Revolution: "Money is a means of payment, not speculation" (с) on: April 17, 2015, 04:57:28 AM

The biggest bank in Greece will adopt some obscure cryptocurrency?  This seems more like fake information to pump a dead coin.

"But we tend to" = speculation, they won't return your phone calls or emails.  No point in mentioning any of these hypothetical or speculations or desires until you got results to deliver.  Don't pump and dump.  Don't turn NODE into scam.

Many of you did not notice that Node will be divided into two parts, one part of the banking system, the second Cryptocurrency - these two parts will have its legal purpose. And also that the legal part is based on Ukrainian by legislation, and the banks are selected on the territory of Ukraine

By about Greek bank, it has no relation to the state of the Greek economy, and is a leader in our country and other countries, read more carefully Wiki

We are risen and job entry for other banks in the other jurisdiction, at this stage we are preparing documents to send.

Very many are waiting for an instant solution, I wrote earlier that the process will take about a year. Everyone decides for himself to stay with Node or not. Seems to be a year of work has been done all that was promised to the community

How Cryptocurrency Node, will be further developed on the test network, we will be releasing more regular updates.

i would like to take part in testing  Smiley
also what has changed in new version?

Now this revised version, updated many modules, configured POA algorithm. On the basis of this version already will be released new updates. Needs thorough testing

A lot of devs have promised the same things just to bail out once they couldn't squeeze any more BTC, I know because I have been there and BTC has been stolen from me.

Please show tangible evidence of the work that has been done and paperwork filed for such requests to banks/municipalities.

And also where is the rest of the team? You have yet to answer those questions with the correct information.

Have to agree with you on this point. Before I buy any more node I would hope to see something much more concrete on the table, too many false dawns with node unfortunately. A good project (once??), but many jaded hodlers now.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Testing New Masternodes on: April 17, 2015, 04:52:34 AM
If Mr. Spread is back I'll be sitting so pretty. Oh mann.

New to spread, but it looks interesting. One thought on the disappearance of Mr. Spread, isn't the most likely explanation he's accumulating for all he's worth before he reappears with associated pump, then sells for tidy profit. Now you see dev, now you don't, now you do again, is pretty standard fair around here, isn't it?
194  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk needs to replace or remove Mprep as a mod. VOTE! on: April 17, 2015, 04:45:22 AM
nah the job ain't easy, I hope he is paid well because the lvl of toxic bullshit this forum forces you to read occasionally.

Over $1000 a week I think isn't it? (bit of a guess)

1K a week, serious?

196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Monero XMR large trade OTC on: April 17, 2015, 04:39:26 AM
Out of curiosity, what is the going rate for buying/selling large quantities (10,000-40,000+) OTC? Does buying or selling that much demand a premium or discount?

Good question, probably should be a premium but I expect it would be a discount. Might not be any sellers for those amounts though. Would love to know also

199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Teleport/Telepathy/Ramchains/SuperNET Core on: April 17, 2015, 03:32:50 AM
Right, and I wasn't saying BTCD was going to tank or fold, I just see that "you didn't lose money if you didn't sell" line a lot, and it always bothers me.

The biggest problem is, I would say 99% of the people in alts are speculating and day trading an not in it for a long time. As a matter of fact, I bet most folks the buy alts consider long term to be 1-3 months or maybe even shorter.

I agree, many people around crypto have a very short term horizon . Those prepared to scratch the surface and do some research stand to reap a lot of rewards, even from so called 'shit coins'.

Recently I did some spring cleaning on a bunch of PoS coins I purchased last year that I haven't kept up staking maintenance on for a long while. As I went through the process of visiting forum threads to download new clients for syncing I discovered to my surprise that many coins I dabbled with over the last 12 months have active communities still, even though their price and trade volumes are in the toilet.

If you scan the last 5-6 forum pages of a coin's thread it's pretty easy to spot which communities are still engaged. You don't necessarily get a true  impression of how the 2nd and 3rd tier coins are going just from scanning coinmarketcap and sorting by price or trade volume. Who knows what will happen in the future, but IMO the community behind a coin is almost as important as the tech (e.g. Doge), and there's no way to quickly compare how vibrant different coin communities are, you have to visit forum threads and judge for yourself.

Price and trade volume are an indication, but during the long bear market everyone suffers to a certain extent. I was pleasantly surprised to find many alts in much better health than I thought. These aren't in the same class as BTCD, but I believe many coins can survive once crypto adoption grows into billions of users, and some so called 'shit coins' still have the exact same first gen tech as bitcoin. What they need is people supporting their blockchains and helping new users, and that seems to be happening with many coins I re-examined. I think traders and speculators move on after a month or two, but some coins have loyal supporters still working together, and that's really good news for the future of crypto (i.e. crypto enthusiasts still here in large numbers).
