181  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Stratum server, how to find one, install it and set it up with my antminer? SOLO on: January 20, 2021, 03:23:31 PM
Or setup your own pool just for your one miner. Just have to wait some time between 1 second and 200 years for your 14TH to find a block.

184  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: January 12, 2021, 02:08:14 PM
January batch of S19-Pro is shipping

Might be some difficulty hikes coming.
185  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: January 06, 2021, 02:20:37 AM
$220 USD to ship to the states was most recent. I think Bitmains UPS rate is broken again, posting about +$1.7k charge  .. .. .

Yes UPS was mental, price was ok if 2 or more ordered but something wrong with it if only ordering one.

Wonder why they stopped accepting BTC
186  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: January 03, 2021, 02:56:00 AM
Shipping cost for one miner was a bit mental, but yes USD transfer only

188  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: December 03, 2020, 12:26:22 PM
I didn't want to start a new topic, but can someone link me to a valid legitimate pangolin miner website to look at a new miner purchase?

Manufacturer: https://www.microbt.com/?locale=en

Distributors:

https://pangolinminer.com/557-2/

and

https://whatsminer.net/shop/

However, stock is extremely limited.

Its always been one of the shittier of the tools out there, I've always used the BTC.com tool
192  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: October 27, 2020, 06:27:29 PM
The bad news: Many S19s and S19 pros will be delivered soon (need more information regarding this.

I think the majority of the first S19 batches are already online and have been for a month or so. I could be wrong, but I don't think there will be any more coming online till January now.
193  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: APMinerTool Compatability with 19 series on: October 25, 2020, 02:50:04 PM
I've tested on my S19-Pro and no it doesn't work. Just shows as Status: None

What does work, and does essentially the same job is BTCTools-v1.2.9.1 from btc.com (which is owned by bitmain anyway)

URL is here: https://pool.btc.com/tools
194  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Some very 'bad' news on s19 shipments. on: October 09, 2020, 08:33:34 PM
Now we know why bitmain has no stock.

195  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Mining pools and the long-term viability of commercial bitcoin mining on: September 21, 2020, 02:25:24 PM
The average per month since Q3 2019 is that over 70% of miners on BTC.com, Poolin and ViaBTC are Chinese miners. Leaving 30% of the rest of the world, just on those three pools.

Most of the other big countries are a tiny fraction of the amount. (Around 6-7% each for USA, Kazakhstan and Russia). And that with Via and BTC.com not even that being "that" big in the grand scheme of things. But I imagine that its either the same or more for antpool, f2pool and huobi.

Ugh.. 11.35% jump
197  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: September 15, 2020, 10:47:28 PM
It looks like the price drop didn't have any effect on difficulty.

Did bitmain deliver some of the pending S19/S19+ orders? hitting a new ATH with BTC price stuck in the 10k levels suggests that some people have got their hands on a large order of the latest gears.

Yes, S19 and S19-Pro started being delivered last week.

199  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: August 28, 2020, 05:37:37 PM
I can confirm that it is enabled. No idea about the S19 but the S19-Pro I have definitely responds to a SSH connection asking for a login and password.
200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: August 27, 2020, 11:09:57 PM
Changing the password still doesn't let you ssh in. I think they might have SSH enabled but configured so only a certain account can login, not root or admin.

Also for those interested, there is no Low Power mining mode on these like the S17-Pro

Just Standard and Sleep mode.

That may change with FW updates but currently its stuck at one speed.

On the flip side the interface is prettier if not better than the old one.
