"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. Yet his shadow still looms. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us?" Nietzsche, "They Gay Science"

Nothing against religion, but I really think we shouldn't  try to find meaning to life through religion. We are free and should be responsible by our own actions and try to surpass ourselves because that is the only good thing worth doing, and not because we want to get to heaven or something like that. Strange things have been done in name on religions, because people sometimes just stop thinking for themselves and just get swallowed by dogmas.
I think religion is as such a good thing. Almost all religions has the message "Don't be a douche" as the most important one, even though they can have crazy rules around it. But the "Don't be a douche" rule is a good one. Some people however, stops thinking for themselves and instead only follows "whatever the holy book/script is called". That's not a good thing. Also, the world would be quite a boring place if it wasn't for religions and stuff.
182  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best book you ever had? on: April 27, 2014, 03:40:20 PM
Мy sister gave me this book 5 years ago, and it literally changed my life.

I have read other Titles by Dan Brown but missed this one , how does it compare to Angels & Demons , Da Vinci code , No spoiler please Smiley

They're all good, but I think Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons are his best. I haven't read the latest one.
Don't be in a rush to do so. Well, actually, just skip it. It's not worth your time. It's absolutely the worst of Dan Browns books (Inferno).
183  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of a role does alcohol play in your lives? on: April 27, 2014, 03:32:43 PM
I only drink socially, only to get that light effect lol, but always in a moderate way. Don't want to end up sick or in a hospital, that is just stupid I think. Waste of health and waste of money in my opinion.

People spend too much money on it. There's much cheaper drugs available and ones that wont make you sick.
Like, Krokodil? Cheesy
No, but could you mention some of those cheaper, better drugs? I'd really like to know! Smiley
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree with this? USD, Not Bitcoin, Is The Next Digital Currency on: April 27, 2014, 01:51:59 PM
I can agree that it's easier to use cash IRL and still be anonymous and have an almost non-existing transaction fee (none in the case of cash), but when purchasing online Bitcoins is like cash. It's the de-centralized cash of the internet.
185  Other / Off-topic / Re: How, in the end, do you think the world will end? on: April 27, 2014, 01:47:24 PM
One of the most dangerous threats to the human population is a simple virus - that is, a deadly disease that spreads rapidly throughout the world.
Within the last century we’ve had four major flu epidemics, as well as HIV and SARS, and scientists says it’s inevitable that another will occur.
If a deadly contagion surfaced today, it could spread even faster and infect even more people.
Considering how quickly diseases spread though all forms of modern transportation — and the amount of international travel that takes place today — an outbreak could have a more devastating impact.
And if nature doesn’t send such a deadly contagion our way, mankind just might.
Biological warfare is another threat that looms over the modern world, and diseases like anthrax, Ebola and cholera have all been weaponized.

did you know virus HIV was created in a lab
Lol, got any serious proof for that? Otherwise it's just another conspiracy theory in my eyes!

To be honest that site did not seem to trustworthy in my opinion… So it's still just another crazy conspiracy in my eyes.
186  Other / Off-topic / Re: I dont think we should evolve any longer as humans on: April 27, 2014, 01:39:37 PM
Idk about you people but I for one can't wait for transhumanism. And there's also a smallish chance that some people alive today will be around when we learn to stop aging, who wouldn't want that?

True transhumanism does not come from external mechanics, it comes from within.  Love is what we're looking for, not machines.
Aren't machines better? Wouldn't you want to be a robot or hybrid (and look like Iron man)?
I wouldn't. And to be honest I don't think many people really does.
187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what should I do with 0.20247 bitcoins? on: April 27, 2014, 01:34:50 PM
....

I am a newbie.... what is btc mining contract?

I suppose you know what mining is.
If not, check tube on: http://www.bitcoinmining.com/

Mining contract means that you rent mining (hash) power from third party and you recieve mined btc to your address.

my question is do 0.20247 btc enough for that?

you'll get about 38 Ghs for 5 years from Pbmining
check their stats https://pbmining.com/stats.html to see income
You will likely not make a mentionable profit, and maybe not even break even because of the difficulty rises. Not worth it IMO.

I'm a big fan of Ubuntu but the phone left me feeling unimpressed with both features and design from the video I saw. So is the Ubuntu phone not actually being made now?
They are developing the software, and I think they have agreements with a few mobile phone companies. So I think it's being done!

Cool. I need to get a new phone and I don't really want to shell out £500+ for one so one of these might be more my price range. Do any of these have mini-sd slots? I want one so I can put all my music on.
I have no idea on the price range of if the phones will have an mini-sd slot, but these are the companies I think: http://insights.ubuntu.com/news/press-releases/canonical-announces-first-partners-to-ship-ubuntu-phones-around-the-globe/

Otherwise you could install Ubuntu on something that comes pre-installed with Android and has a mini-sd slot!

Why not? I would like some parts of ours to evolve further.

5 fingers? fuck that, gimme 8 so I can type easier. Our eyes? Do you know how shitty our eyes are compared to other animals? It's cause they were evolved to work perfectly under water, then when we started walking on land we had to evolve it from that so it never got perfect. We can't see things right in front of our noses, we cant see things 500 meters away in detail, we can't even see in the night which fucking sucks. Cheesy

Evolve that shit to the max level and then I'll be satisfied. Cheesy

This a gold comment love ya for this one.  8 fingers thats great.

No, you will not be needing any hands in the future. Because it will be directly connected to your brain.
What do you mean with this?
The brain will be directly connected to the computer. You don't need to type to computers, cellphones, remote, connecting to intenet etc. All you need is to think it. You don't need to go to school because lessons will directly uploaded to your brain. You don't to watch movies all you need is upload it to your brain.
Sounds like fun life. I mean, that's just destroying the meaning of life, and the joy of living. I would not take part in such a dystopian future.

i think weed is good subsitute for you reason . you can use this in daily life you can also enjoy your society

lol... from being addicted to a legal substance, to addition for an illegal one. Weed is still illegal in 99% of the regions. If you are caught, and if you are really unlucky, you might have to spend time in prison.
Yeah, you should really check local laws before smoking any… In some places you'll get away with a small fine, and in some areas you'll end up in jail for many months/years. I mean, check out the laws in Tennessee! Shocked

It's the poor man, rich man illusion. A person in debt is not free, and doesn't own anything.

There are many things happening with science and technology, we are destroying freedom with technology.  Unless we all can can stand up up to against our goverments, are kids are gonna learn to accpet the gov bullies.

Unless you change the human nature, which is not happening anytime soon, things will not change, no matter what you do, it's in our human nature to be stupid, greedy, and selfish and systems like capitalism exploit the human nature very well, there is enough resources on earth to make EVERYONE live a decent life, yet the system is built to make a 1% super rich elit a 9% rich, a 20% okish, and the rest poor.
That's a bit of paradox, since it's also in human nature to care for others, and helping people in need makes us feel good.
At the same time we're greedy and selfish and constantly want more.
If we just stopped wanting more and would settle with having just enough, the world would be a much better place. One cannot do everything, but everyone can do something.

By the way. Why are you using iTunes. When you can listen too all his music (and probably every other musician)for free and fully legal via spotify?
Yes, everything except for AC/DC lol! Cheesy

-----------

But guys, guess what neither Tony Martin nor AC/DC are to "hot" for?
The Pirate Bay! Smiley

U can invest in a mining contract.

Please explain and suggest links....
You buy mining power from a company running the rigs, and you get what they mine.
I would not recommend you doing so though, it can be very hard to break even.

I wonder what  hashing power can a phone be
I tried mining on my phone. Total waste of time, energy and resources.
Not even 1000 phones would get a hash rate worth anything.

Have you seen Ubuntu Edge? (but I cannot find a way to buy it now ...)

I have read about it, the phone itself is quite ugly. I would rather install ubuntu on my smartphone myself.
Android is perfectly fine, but Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony are ruining the android experience with their heavy skins on top of android.

I will definitely play with ubuntu once it possible to install.

Ugly? Cheesy

Hire other people to make bitcointalk accounts.
Let them talk and wait till they become member.
Add signatures in their account.
Profit. You pay them some dollars, you get the BTC

Not sure if this is allowed
Why would anyone sell their signature for a couple of dollars, just to earn the buyer much more Bitcoins, when they can just sell their signature directly to the add campaign?

No, they are developing their own system, so it's not Ubuntu!
