181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: July 24, 2021, 08:10:57 AM
What you say about Messi was true 5, maybe 6 years ago but not anymore. Barcelona's a great team with or without Messi and the more he ages, the more it's true.
On the other side of the discussion I wouldn't be so sure that Griezmann will play for Barcelona this season. Just today Barcelona president Joan Laporta has made it clear that the club are 'open to all offers' for Antoine Griezmann this summer. So that's it, Griezmann is done.
Barcelona is not even a great team with Messi...
That remains to be seen cos IMO he has got nothing to prove to Barça anymore, if I were Leo I'd have left long ago. He won everything with them and I'm sure he could have found another top team to play for (and also able to pay his salary).
Barcelona needs to undergo a serious renovation if they're to become a great team again. And Messi, for me, is out of the plan.

183  Other / Archival / Re: El Salvadorans are not happy about accepting bitcoin as a means of payment on: July 23, 2021, 10:50:26 AM
As I said, and it looks no one is thinking about it, bitcoin adoption should happen on a VOLUNTARY basis. I don't want to be forced to use or accept bitcoin I want to do that because I decide to do so.
The history of bitcoin shows that slowly and steadily adoption's inevitable. No law, no regulation can make that happen. If you and I accept bitcoin that's it, deal done.
184  Other / Archival / Re: El Salvadorans are not happy about accepting bitcoin as a means of payment on: July 22, 2021, 03:33:30 PM
I must confess that I'd have preferred that Salvadorans would have started accepting bitcoin because they wanted to. Any form or coercion, even if it's done with good intentions, it's bad to me. September's a bit far away so we don't know whether Salvadoreños will be ready or not when Bitcoin's legal tender.
I'd like to see the data behind the poll to get a sense of who were the people interviewed because 77% is a big number.
185  Economy / Economics / Re: EU wants to ban crypto anonymous transactions and wallets on: July 22, 2021, 03:25:11 PM
Limiting transactions below 10,000 euros
That's just laughable. What are they going to do: charge criminals for smuggling €100 million worth of cocaine, with an additional charge for accepting cash money?
This one really made me laugh.
Unfortunately, there's not much to laugh at though. I hope it's one of those classic moves that then end up as bubbles punctured by needles. Like Marathon filtering transactions first and then saying, oops, we made a mistake we don't filter anymore.
It's different here though since these bureaucrats really want to set up a coercive system in multiple areas. Everything is being channeled well into an authoritarian drift.
The panopticon is progressing well, it seems.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: July 22, 2021, 03:16:17 PM
Fresh Copa América winner Rodrigo de Paul has now taken a one-way ticket to Madrid, as he'll move to Atlético until 2026. The Colchoneros have finalized the purchase of the Argentine with Udinese, where the italian team will collect 35 million euros from the deal. Never had the Friulani managed to get such a high figure from a transfer, not even when they released Márcio Amoroso for Parma or Alexis Sánchez for Barça.
And now, after a week according to Transfermarkt, Rodrigo's current value is already 40 million. Not bad.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 22, 2021, 03:08:38 PM
Hard stance by the Football Association in England which has established that by the first of October 2021 players and staff must have received the double jab in a mandatory manner.
Those players and staff who haven't received at least the first dose will have to do so within the next two weeks: some players may request an exemption, although no clear indication has yet been given as to whether or how this will happen.
Certainly, this kind of choice could have consequences on the market of Premier League clubs: the vaccine requirement could become a weapon in the hands of players and, above all, agents, in order to force their hand in case they want to leave.

Hey OP, great thread  Wink
I suggest you have a look at the following page on Bitcoin Optech which provides quite some relevant material and documentation on eltoo. I share some of your questions but I've no answers and I'll be following this thread very closely.

189  Economy / Economics / Re: The Rothschilds have quadrupled their stake in BTC since April on: July 21, 2021, 06:32:17 AM
I don't care who holds bitcoin, really. IMO anyone is free to hold bitcoin. I don't like the Rothschilds, I don't like their lineage, they've been the undercover rulers of the world (financially speaking).
But if they hold some corn that's fine by me as it clearly shows the power of the most alluring assets of our times.
If you want to give power to your money, then follow where the riches pour their bucks.
190  Economy / Economics / Re: A Game of Governments - China and Authoritarism on: July 21, 2021, 06:26:04 AM
snipped
In less than 1-3 years please come back and tell me the difference between the democratic European Union and the authoritarian China.
In China being a de facto authoritarian regime, it's clear they'll want to keep as much control as they possibly can. From what I'm seeing in Europe, democracy's been dismantled. Green passes everywhere, coercion to get a sperimantal shot etc. One day if you want to breathe you'll have to show someone your pass.
Not to mention the execrable limitation of financial freedom that'll be CBDCs.

191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 21, 2021, 06:20:33 AM
It's official, due to too many positive covid cases in Arsenal, the Gunners are gonna skip the match with Inter in Florida, USA. The Gunners would have had to play two games in the Florida Cup, first with the Nerazzurri and then against one of the other two participants, Everton and the Colombian Millonarios.
It looks like the vaccine they had isn't avoiding contagion.

192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on friendly matches on: July 21, 2021, 06:12:26 AM
Guys what's the point on betting real money of friendly matches that have nothing at stake? If you gamble away your money on those games you better go buy some scratch cards...
Or you probably have better chances if you buy a lottery ticket. Don't waste your money that way, there are plenty of games and sports to fulfill your betting desire!
There is no other points except making money from sports betting even if it is just friendly match. It is not something bad if we are familiar with the match or we used to analyze such matches. It is even better than buying lottery ticket or scratch cards where your chance is purely based on luck with so low odds to win.

I have to say the opposite here, buying lottery ticket is wasting more money than sports betting regardless the type of the match. All in all, it is about preferences.
Opinions, man, these are just our own opinions. Statistically speaking you may be right and actually you could win big money on friendlies without even knowing what are you betting on! That's the advantage of ignorance, which tends to be working a lot these days.
On a different note, the same could have been buying Dogecoin 12 months ago at its low, hoping for an idiot to pump it via twitter.
Am I right?
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 21, 2021, 06:04:02 AM
I was going to read this thread until I saw 68.2% votes think suns will win.
You're right, never trust the majority, never! Always DYOR!  Grin
Anyway, Chris Paul and his teammates are forced to do a miracle at the Fiserv Forum and then play for glory in game 7. The odds, however, will be all on the side of the Bucks who'll do everything they can to close the books in game 6.
In short, my view is that there seem to be all the conditions for the NBA Finals to end tonight with a victory for the Milwaukee Bucks. It will in any case be a very close match like the last two, with less than 220 points overall and always only 10pts margin between the two teams.
Great win for Bucks and great win for me too! Couldn't be happier for both these results!
Many thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo who's the 1st player in the whole NBA history with more than 40 points, more than 10 rebounds and more than 5 blocks in a Finals game!
Now we need to find other competitions for betting.......
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I know if an altcoin is a scam? on: July 20, 2021, 03:22:26 PM
A very common practice in scam coins is that of Premining. That is, the practice of privately mining a new coin before the public sale and/or release. In the most blatant example, a coin developer sets an extremely low mining difficulty level, mines a certain amount of the coin, and, after a certain amount of time, publicly announces the release. There are less obvious methods of achieving a prominent effect, such as a last-minute announcement of the launch through an obscure publication.
With the dawn of tokens anyone without programming skills has been able to issue scam tokens.
There are far too many scam tokens around to talk about them, always DYOR but, if I was to advise you, only trust bitcoin!

197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 20, 2021, 03:05:49 PM
Lionel Messi's missing signature for his contract renewal with Barça has cost him 2 million euros to date, according to reports from Equipe.  In fact, if the Argentine had signed since July 1, he would have received 100 thousand euros net per day. Money that he is not currently earning because the agreement reached with the club is still not put on paper. The former Ballon d'Or has been owned by Barcelona since 2000 and, apart from this small misstep, is probably gonna finish his career in Catalonia.

Breaking (shocking) news! A Premier League soccer player's been arrested on child sex charges. This is revealed by The Mirror, explaining that it cannot name the player for legal reasons. However, some details on the identity of the arrested are made known: it is a 31 year old footballer, regularly summoned by his national team. The Manchester Police released a statement explaining: "On Friday 16 July 2021, officers arrested a 31-year-old man on charges of sexual offenses against minors. He has been released on bail pending further police investigation."
If you google it, you'll find the name.

Am I missing something?

What happens if CAKE fails or if its price drops?

What happens if the CAKE rots?
The guy's assuming variable as they were set in stone. His risk management is blurred buy his appetite to maybe earn $5000 in one month and then lose everything in one shot.
Fancy maths and calculations based on those variables can lead to a great disaster OP. Think twice before doing anything like that.

The latest news, Tottenham says that Harry Kane will not leave they assured that Kane would stay at Tottenham, on the other hand, Man City still has options, one of which is signing Lewandowski of course Kane is the main target because he is younger and has a future. For me these two players have the same potential.

Kane's decision will play a really big role on this. Some time ago, Kane stated clearly that he wanted to leave. I wonder if he is still very decisive about it. If it's the situation, Tottenham can't keep him at the team this summer. It could even affect Kane's performance badly in the new season if Tottenham don't let him go.

If City don't sign him, there are some top strikers like Haaland and Lewandowski also. I guess they will reach an agreement with one of these 3 players in this summer.
Plenty of different news and rumors on Kane's future.
The Daily Telegraph wrote that according to some teammates, Kane won't come back to training after his vacations. His intention would be to force Tottenham's hand in order to persuade the club to sell him. The experience with the national team and the title missed on penalties against Italy have increased the hunger for success of the player, who is convinced that Spurs aren't competitive enough. He wants Guardiola's Manchester City.
