1810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIDEN | First Crypto to use Scrypt-OG (Optimized for GPU) [altaccept.com] on: April 06, 2014, 04:13:06 PM
it is just scrypt with lower n-factor right?

Scrypt-N , currently 11
Scrypt , fixed at 10
Scrypt-OG , at 6

thats why its faster, but if you push it, it will still use same amount of heat and electricity as it is scrypt which is memory intensive algorithm
1811  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / bitcoin maximum fraction unit? there are something less than satoshi unit? on: March 27, 2014, 05:18:31 PM
based on transaction structure https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Protocol_specification

The TxOut structure consists of the following fields:
Code:
Field Size Description Data type Comments
8         value            int64_t Transaction Value
1+         pk_script length var_int Length of the pk_script
?         pk_script        uchar[] Usually contains the public key as a Bitcoin script setting up conditions to claim this output

so maximum transaction value is signed? 64-bit integer ?
why we use signed int? can transaction value be negative?

then

if its uin64_t so then max value would be
2^64-1 = 18,446,744,073,709,551,615

there are max 21 million cap of bitcoin so
Code:
184467440.73709551615
 21000000.00000000xxx
so we can add 3 more digits after satoshi unit?

if its int64_t then max value would be
2^63-1 = 9,223,372,036,854,775,807
Code:
92233720.36854775807
21000000.00000000xxx

still more 3 digits after satoshi unit?
1812  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / how to test if my hash is valid for a stratum pool on: March 23, 2014, 10:10:07 PM
i am creating cpu bitcoin miner (with stratum) just for learning

i can test my sha256d function are correct by compared input and output to other well known function,
but my concern is, how to make sure that my share to pool is correct as pool requested (byte order, json format, etc..), currently i tested it on ghash.io pool, with minimal difficulty is 16, still i can't found a share since i am mining with cpu, is there a pool with minimal difficulty is 1 so i can test if pool can accept or reject my hash?

or is there any other scheme where i can test against ?
1813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 20, 2014, 03:42:47 PM
new 1gh miner is out, get it from their website I just went from 8.8mh/s to 11.7mh/s with it.
holy sh*t...
went from 5.5 to 8
a bit tweaking... 8.5
+50% more hashrate  Shocked
on a xfx 7950

wootwoot

Weird, im only getting 7.5 on my 7970. Got any tips for me?

I am getting 6.7 with my 7970 on I 0

getting

9.3 MH/s on R9 280x

and ,
8.4 MH/s on HD7970

anyone can get better than this, share the settings please..

Could you show the cgminer.conf of 280X rig that has 9.3M hash? By 1GH's new 3-20-Cgminer?
And which AMD card driver/SDK is the better for mining HVC?
My 280X only has 8.2M on 1100/1250.
Thanks so much!

* miner count for 1gh is an estimate based on total hash rate (T), summed top 100 (Sc) hash rate (Sh), extrapolation of miners 81-100 progression through to 1Mh/s (Xh, Xc) dividing the remainder (T-Sh-Xh) by 1Mh/s (Rc) and summing these 3 results together (Sc+Xc+Rc), and is likely wildly inaccurate
1gh Top 100 hash rate: 15,812.24Mhash/s

More miners flooding into 1gh, some left the others.  Having tried a few just for fun, I can see several reasons why.

why more on 1gh
1. its simple, no registration, direct payout to wallet
2. its more secure, pool doesn't hold your mined coin, no withdraw request whatsoever
3. its reliable, tested during ddos era on MAX and PTS
4. they got optimized miner, and support user with their miner
5. site are clean, easy to read
6. mining centralization doesn't have big impact anyway, if 1gh do double spend, we can see it, then people will move out, and so far none!
7. most people will choose consistent payout, which is from high hashrate pool such as 1gh

oh no why scrypt, dev should assume that scrypt-coin will be future dead, atleast use scrypt-n even better your own algorithm, or hefty1

wow, what are your settings for the bat file? i'm still gettin 4 on the new cgminer.  Did tuning down memclock help? I tried but didnt notice any difference
settings are the same as on previous version of cgminer . gpu clock 1130, mem clock 1250
Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
COLOR 0A
del *.bin
cgminer.exe --heavy --vote 512 -o stratum+tcp://hvcpool.1gh.com:5333 -u wallet -p x -o stratum+tcp://hvcpool.1gh.com:5333 -u wallet -p x -I 4 --no-submit-stale
