WTF with SG uray pool ?
5 burst for 7 hours with 17To with many block founds... Huh

there are problem with restored balance & share data from previous hosting
it has been fixed, sorry about this, i will compensate by transfering burst to pool balance

Uray, were there issues on the US pool as well?

yeah its all pools : US, SG and EU
but those issues are fixed

Storj lead dev here. I really don't see Burst as a competitor, I think it is a really cool concept that could be useful to us. For example, we might want to make sure there is excess unused capacity on the network for expansion. I think that would be a good use case for the Burst algo.

If someone would be willing to take that time to port this to some well documented Python, I would be open to integrating it into DriveShare.

wow i think its good news,

what kind of documentation do you need?

So guys...

I'm currently developing a method to sustain the BURST price on the long run.
It isn't time to share any detail, I will in the (hopefully) near future. So, try to be patient...

What I currently need, is to know if there is a Bitcoin client which supports features like the Asset Exchange of BURST (in BTC obviously) or, even better, a crowdfounding mechanism with the possibility to the founders to also attach text messages to the donation.

Mind that the WIP method doesn't strictly depend on this, but it would make its implementation a little bit easier Smiley

you might want to look at XCP (Counterparty) it has asset exchange and it linked with bitcoin by nature
take a look at : http://www.blockscan.com/

(OK. I read the "giveaways are not allowed" thread and understand the reasoning behind it. Reposting appropriately. Please do not reply in this thread! PM me here or reply to the reddit thread ONLY! Replying here could get this thread locked. Thanks!)

Giveaway posted at: http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/2kecy5/burst_giveaway_own_some_of_the_first/

I'm giving away BURST! As of right now, there's 9100 BURST still available.

As we all know, there are many cryptocurrencies out there. It's difficult to find the ones which offer something interesting, useful, or game changing. Well, I think I found one, and I want to personally promote it.

Burstcoin is the first proof-of-capacity (POC) coin. What is POC? Basically, it uses hard drive space as mining power. You write chunks of data called "plots" to your drive which are then used during mining. This consumes much less power than proof-of-work coins like Bitcoin or Litecoin. You can probably think of a plot like a lottery ticket; the more tickets you have, the better your chances to win. Burstcoin's infrastructure (e.g. wallet, network, etc.) is based on NXT, the #6 cryptocurrency by market cap ( http://coinmarketcap.com/ ). This gives it many useful features like a built-in asset exchange, simple messaging, named accounts, and many others. Burstcoin was not pre-mined (unlike NXT, which was fully pre-mined).

Who am I? I work in the cryptocurrency space; I'm currently working at a large Bitcoin mining operation, and I'm a day trader of cryptos. I like the ideas of cryptocurrencies and the possibilities of the blockchain. I'm a Bitcoin proponent. I believe that there can be multiple successful cryptocurrencies. And I've been intrigued enough by Burstcoin that I'm starting a hosted mining service for it: http://burst.farm

If you're new to Burstcoin, be one of the first 100 people to reply to PM me here on bitcointalk or reply to the reddit post (n.b. DON'T reply to this bitcointalk thread!) and I'll send you 100 BURST. If you need a free wallet access portal, go to http://burst.farm:8125 (unlike coins like Bitcoin, this does not host your funds; the passphrase is just a key into the BURST blockchain and you can access your funds from any access portal, on your machine or elsewhere). Enter a passphrase or let it generate one for you (and SAVE IT! This is the only way to get into your BURST wallet). Paste your new BURST-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX address in your reply here. Then, to fully activate your account, spend 1 BURST (the easiest way is to set your account name, which costs 1 BURST).

Welcome to Burst!

buy volume on c-cex is increasing 3x, is there a good news?
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.4 on: October 26, 2014, 06:02:59 PM
Supply and demand.

To raise demand Burst needs something to spend burst on: asset, development, tech , keychains whatever.

Also pos would give 1 good reason reason to buy and hold it in the short term as it gets developed (and maybe offset some poc creation).

or wait until price equals cost to create burst.

burst is new, everything is new, even the blockexplorer, miner, pool need to be build from scratch
even we dont agree yet which is burst official logo, we dont have mining protocol standard, there are a lot of area need to be improved

so i think the development time can't keep up with the block reward, hence the inflation
as long as we keep developing, keep promoting and keep using burst, we will survive
even if burst reach 1 sat, and no buy order, its not the end of the world

burstcoin.io US pool update

miners on burstcoin US pool, please restart your miner after block 17160 (if ur miner does not have auto resolve dns)
new Pool IP will be 23.227.167.164 , domain name will be same http://pool.burstcoin.io or http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io  (you might need to flush your dns cache)
i moved pool to new hosting, and i reduced pool fee from 2.5% to 1.5%, so better profit for miners
and pool running cost is reduced 4x cheaper, so BCPT holder would get better profit too
new host hardware is cheaper but faster, so will see performance improvement there

EU and SG pool also will follow the hosting migration, it might take a while because new hosting deployment is a bit complicated

server migration is done for US, EU and SG pool
you might need to restart your miner and flush dns cache, please check it

Pool IP :

[US] http://pool.burstcoin.io  23.227.167.164
[SG] http://pool2.burstcoin.io 23.227.163.49
[EU] http://pool3.burstcoin.io 23.227.167.165

Should I change the domain name in my miner?

no, all domain name are unchanged, you just need your miner to resolve to new IP, thats it

@Uray - I've noticed all day that every hour or two I'll build up 50-100 BURST on the SG pool, only to have my balance reset and never get paid out unless it's a big payout. Did something change or any idea what might cause that? If X amount of blocks are found does the balance reset? Address in sig for reference.

its because pool profit is negative, so pool is loosing money at current bitcoin and burst price
it should be no payout at all, its bug

Makes sense! Thanks for clarifying.

i will move hosting to cheaper one, so we can back to profit again, but again public IP might change, so all miners need to restart their miner if their miner can't auto resolve dns

We need more than a whole thread which is just all about mining pools and mining.May a new thread for marketing and PR stuff.

This is a nice idea. Is there any official PR Team ?

No, but there are plenty people who are willing to spend on pr.

Hi everyone,

I've asked a fellow designer to help improving BURST logo and this is what he came up with:

...

Personally I like this one because it resembles the one we already have:

Which ones do you like? Any ideas on how to improve the logos are welcome.
Logos are in public domain.

If dev approves one of these logos, designer can create more graphics based on it.

If you want to support his work, his BURST account is: BURST-6MZ2-6MH9-U5AX-FNMJX
Thanks!
