1081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source ZEC (ZCash) GPU Miner AMD & NVidia (up to 45 sol/s on RX480) on: October 29, 2016, 10:39:43 AM
ZCash transaction very slow! Z -> Z can take 30min for create and 5 hours for delivery. Z -> T creation time is 2-3 min, delivery up to 5 min (may be more, I don't check this). Now queue of transaction on pool is more than 1200 transaction (all want minimal 0,005 - ok.. now you can see your coins at "Requested" field, but need wait a long time). Does using several Z-Addresses on pool for payment help in this situation? Don't know. Really can help using multiple zcashd nodes, but it not easy to implement fast.

waiting is not a problem, people just nervous about the uncertainty of situation, and they just want to cash it out early as possible because of hyped price..

i think its better for you to display payout queue, so at least everyone know the progress even if its slow, and they know where their position at the queue

zcashgpluclient :

zcashgpluclient_silentarmy

single instance, win7 x64 , RX470-4G x2 and RX470-8G x2 (with ethereum undervolt modded bioses)
still slower than my i7-6700 hashing at 27 sol/s

executable is 32-bit, why would anyone still compile to target 32-bit machine, silentarmy opencl kernel won't work..
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.1 Automated Transactions on: January 26, 2015, 10:08:18 PM
here is the problem report of pool.burstcoin.io (US, SG and EU)

on 26th January 2015, pool suffered (or maybe some others too) from massive forked blockchain
as a result, there are some payments that was made on that forked chain
all of those payments are NOT confirmed by current blockchain network
as a result, pool's wallet API reported wrong balance using API :

Code:
...burst?requestType=getGuaranteedBalance&account=<poolAccount>&numberOfConfirmation=1

it reported usable balance from all those transactions as it never happend, but pool can't use those
unspent funds because those transaction already on blockchain but as unconfirmed tx

it can be seen if i open burst wallet using pool account, balance is (for example) 126 burst
but if check it using API above, balance is 37K burst !

the problem is, those transactions seems never be confirmed or rejected up until now,
it still there as a zombie txs

here is the list of tx from my pool

...cut...

i have no idea how to delete those tx or solution for this problem, any hints?

currently pool running on latest 1.2.1, already tried resync the blockchain db from scratch

Hi there Uray, I've experienced the same problem with our pool (based on your code) and did manage to fix it accessing the pool's wallet in debug mode an clearing all unconfirmed transaction.

how do you clear the unconfirmed tx ?

Set "nxt.enableDebugAPI=true"
Go to http://127.0.0.1:8125/test?requestTag=DEBUG and click clearUnconfirmedTransactions

Also, great to see you back around here Uray

haaaa... this one is cool!
thank you very much

If you try with the one I uploaded to mega, do you still have them?

thanks for the link

If you added wear hdd you can halve I think.

Well, I can say that I have been purchasing external HDDs for plotting.
In two months I can recover the cost of the HDD (Unlike the 6+ month minimum ROI on GPU mining equipment).

I now have HDDs that have paid for themselves and continue to generate income.
If it dies, so what?   I have already recovered the cost of the drive... I'll just go get a new one.

How is this being portrayed as SO different that using GPUs or ASICs?
It's EXACTLY the same risk... and if managed properly, you will always be making money.

must say very cool community has developed here, like person showing how to optimize RAM usage.. it is great cause you will gain ever more not necessarily technical folks in due time

have a non rainy day unless is rainy tipping wise , we don't have BURST tipping yet but I feel it is one of these things that is going to literarily BURST and not just BURST coins into mainstream (and many other things) I would not worry about low price at all this year is dismal for everyone

 Cool

burst tipping? dont we have irc bot at #burst-coin, and we can tip each other, and every day there are burst raining there?

sorry i've been off for couple of days, currently focusing on upgrading pool, i am sorry if there are a lot of problem before, its because vps provider is pushing me that i made too huge tcp connection, too many cpu time, too much traffic, so i ended up moving all of those pool to new dedicated server, with new software which should be more efficient and has better reward distribution, currently SG and EU already using new code and under testing, and also the front-end is still buggy but i believe back-end is working as intended right know

no, my pools does not post every single nonce received to wallet, its processed first in native C++, and only best nonce for current round is sent to wallet, and also mining info related APIs are cached, its not directly from wallet

but i believe another pool that use my source code doing direct send to wallet for every single nonce, its my guess anyway, because it is how it work in the very basic source code i made public

anyway q327K091, what do you mean pools are in major disarray ?

Hey uray,

did you read my post a few pages back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.msg9652448#msg9652448 ? Are these issues solved so I can return to SG?

pool is still in beta, if i found another critical bug, i might need to reset user balance again if there are no other alternative fix, but currently SG already running more than 24 hr without backend bug, so its up to you

Thanks. Did SG find fewer block the last 24h than the average before?

yes

ah...and also for miner who own following account :

BURST-CREX-FD53-Q698-FJHLS
BURST-ZZDB-7NHL-V5C9-673TK
BURST-9UF6-P65T-7F5Y-EWHD3

please use proper miner, or remove your passphrase.txt, you are sending your secret passpharase to server!

Maybe it would've been better to send them encrypted blockchain messages?

yeah... i just want to make fun of them Tongue

Regardless, still thinking about getting into burst. It'd be nice if there were more poc coins though, if burst starts spiraling the drain it's nice to have more options.

I think cloning + maintaining + adding new feature for POC coin is not as easy as normal PoW , PoS coin. I suspect if there is ever a clone of burst it would be just copy and paste. No new feature and it would probably be a scam coin because it's not an easy coin to maintain.

Also , it's not a good time for alt coin in general for this period of time.

If burst were to be release last year, i bet it would reach 5,000 - 10,000 sat.

If alt coin pick p next year , we will probably see some cloning but by then burst could probably be the market leader in PoC coin.

exactly right.. meantime pools are in major disarray and SATA disks are expensive as heck 6T won't go down in price that easily.. so not just difficult to maintain but not that ultra cheap to mine, also it is very hard to hijack disk space of required magnitude so this is very anti-bot resilient coin

pool operators have to be cautious and provide steady as much as possible flow of deposits it is very important in general not just for individual miners  it is quite unbelievable to me that pools established by core developers to which also assets are tied to are in such a weak state
the pool situation is a direct result of the java backend.
java is not designed to scale quite well by simply adding memory to centralized hosts.
the solution is to port (start from scratch) the required burst protocol parts to a solid c++ backend and run the pools with that.
every single effort which is put into the java code base to stabilize the pool situation is in my eyes not worth it cause the next limit is already set.

what burst needs is a core functionality c++ api to host professional services.
this includes to act as full network peer (aquire and distribute the blockchain),
submit blocks to the network,
extract reward receipients from the chaindata,
send burst,
extract messages,
send messages
and to create addresses from private keys.

if this works the whole api functioniality for the asset exchange and marketplace may get added.
a intermediate solution may be to create a mysql backed partial blockchain with php access to take the pool load away from the java components on the pools. however, as far as i know is the core pool servercode still based on java.
another option to stay with java may be to add autonomous proxies to the pools which submit the round reward assignments to a hidden internal pool server which distributes the rewards. keeping them in sync may be much harder to code than starting to design the c based api from scratch.

a simple pool design may be this:
wallet (current or c based) --> distribute current block information to miner connect nodes
connect nodes --> provide block data to the miner, accept and verify shares --> submit miner results to central hidden node
hidden node --> distribute rewards, provide stats
load balancer --> knows throughput of shares for each node and assigns miners to nodes

I think this has more to do with the approach used by uray's pool software. Every single nonce sent is http posted to the wallet, which apparently doesn't handle that much load that well, and the wallet ends up also doing a lot of redundant calculations, as it doesn't save the mining related information between calls. If the pool checked results and only passed on the best ones, I don't think the situation would be as bad.

Under more sane conditions the built in api should be able to handle requests without issue, but if not the h2 database can be directly accessed by another program if the h2 AUTO_SERVER option is set.

I'm thinking of mining Burst. I have a 4tb WD cloud network drive. Can this drive be used, or do I need a regular HDD right off the MB?
I've tried searching, but 748 pages is a long read.
Thanks Smiley

It doesn't matter where the files are stored if they can be read fast enough. For 4 tb you'll need to read approximately 1 gb per block.
If read speed is 10 mb/s, files will be read in ~100 s. As many blocks are found faster than that, miner will be able to use only part of plotted space on these short blocks.

Would be nice to have an FAQ on the website, and this would be a good question to add to it!

should we use uservoice.com or answerhub.com for burst ? it has question and answer like stackoverflow.com

i need burst tagline for our burst web wallet lockscreen at https://burstcoin.io

it seems that "an energy efficient cryptocurrency" is not really fit, because PoS coins actually use less energy, and "HDD mined cryptocurrency" is too technical, i believe burst innovation is more than HDD mined, its a lot more, we need a tagline that describe its uniqness, features, technologies to target not only technical people but all cryptofinance user

if you have any idea please post on this thread...

Anybody help.

I used pool burst-pool2.cryptoport.io

When I mined burst with one server (1TB), I could receive coins.

When I mined burst with 20 servers (10x1TB), used the same plot id (same account), I didn't receive any coins.

do I need to use different account for my 10 servers?

u still receive coins, but you got less by using 10 miner x 1TB than 1 miner x10 TB, because there are invalid share penalty when you submit nonce with higher deadline than your best deadline, it could be when server-1 already submit deadline 1000 secs, then server-2 does not know server-1 already submit it, then it submit nonce with deadline 1001 secs, you get penalty

I didn't know you used penalty, I think that should be stated at the pool's info like on crowetic's and kaka's pools. How much is the penalty?

BTW, how long was SG down today?

its on "How it Work" tab, its very small any way 0.0001 share, its just to prevent spam, not to decrease multiple miner on same account share, actually its not really a penalty just see it as additional computation cost by sending useless nonce

yeah it could be resolved by using 10 different account, but you still receive less payout than 10 TB with one account because your deadline variance will be higher with small plot

you shouldn't use SG pool anyway, 10 TB is too small, you better choose US, or EU if your average deadlines are below 5 days

are urajs pools offline?

sorry just messed up with dns table, and fucked up, as soon as dns entry propagate to correct values again, it will work
currently pool.burstcoin.io pointing to 104.28.22.80 while it should be 23.227.167.164
cloudflare just taking over that domain which they shouldn't

i just know that coinmarketcap.com get data from burst.cryptoport.io , since its unmaintained, the new hosting for block-explorer already running at http://explorer.burstcoin.io , so i changed the burst.cryptoport.io dns to point it to explorer.burstcoin.io vps, but in the middle i messed up with another entry of burstcoin.io which affect pool.burstcoin.io, it should run fine now

sorry about that
