Very good idea, maybe we could start something like a poll to find a/some promoter/s and offer them a contribution in burstcoins.
A platform like reddit is necessary, without a dedicated community, something like that isnīt going to happen.

But on the other hand, watch Doge, much community such promotion and decreasing in value just like burst, wow.

so we should hire nascar driver and paint the car with burstcoin ?

Just like Doge did...Maybe also F1, UFC and other sports that are willing to sponsor Burst....

A youtube Burstcoin channel would be nice to update the news/pr/tech on burst....

any news from max keiser ? we contacted him right?

Maybe it's time to create a thread for only PR stuff, ie. videos, links, services and more business side of discussions with frequent op updates. I know there's a burstforum, but honestly people hit this forum up more. I wish I had more resources and time to dedicate, but hope someone would entertain the idea. The dev is more incline to do the technical side of things and much respect for that, but the business side of it is lacking very much so to be honest.

agree with you...
dev is very good, we really need to support him on another area, but i am not a good PR too, i am more into software dev, please we need to create a team for promotional project, maybe dicussing in this thread is not a good idea, cause it will be buried by mining posts, maybe we can use reddit or irc ?

dev is active too on IRC, if you are not in IRC yet, please join up #burstcoin on freenode

sorry about that... my bad...

Burstcoin.io Pool Update

[ Planned Downtime due to Maintenance ]

I made some optimization on software side, so it will check nonce deadline faster. in exchange to reduce pools running cost, server performance need to be tuned down a little bit, therefor I need to make hardware adjustment to all running pool [ US , SG , EU ]

due to this adjustment, i need to shutdown all the pools for couple of blocktime (10-15 minutes), and server public IP might change because of hardware migration, so there is chance that you need to restart your miner (if your miner does not have auto resolve dns) after pool is up again to resolve to new public IP.

pool down time will be planned at :
block 23570 for US pool
block 23560 for SG pool
block 23550 for EU pool

all Pools restarted and now is up and running

please make sure that if you ping the pool hostname, it should reply from following IP address

US-Pool ( pool.burstcoin.io | pool-us.burstcoin.io | burst-pool.cryptoport.io   ) -> 54.215.212.49
SG-Pool ( pool.burstcoin.io | pool-sg.burstcoin.io | burst-pool2.cryptoport.io ) -> 54.169.74.107
EU-Pool ( pool.burstcoin.io | pool-eu.burstcoin.io | burst-pool3.cryptoport.io ) -> 54.171.106.108

an also please check your miner, most of the miner does not re-resolve IP from DNS if the public IP is changed,
if your pool has error, then restart it and make sure if you ping the host it reply from above IP, if it is not, you need to flush or clear your DNS cache

and also if you are still using java miner, please change to blago's miners or my miner if you can, those miners has better compatibility and less nonce submit error.

Both faucets are empty. How about if we donate a few coins each to fill them up a bit...? Will give a better impression and it's important for new users that they work.

http://burstfaucet.com
http://faucet.burstcoin.info

I gave both faucets, small amount of BCPT asset :

i think its not enough for faucet to get funds regularly, maybe someone who own BCPT can give those pools small amount of theirs, or faucet owner can buy small amount BCPT asset too, i am not telling you to buy my assets or promoting it, its just one of the way so that faucet will receive funds regularly (well ofcourse as long as pool has profit)

to transfer asset, go to wallet, go to menu asset exchange, go to my asset, then if you own bcpt, it will be listed there and on the rightmost column it has transfer button
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 15, 2014, 12:06:21 AM
Nice colours.
But please use some spare time to learn how to spell "receiving" correctly instead of wasting it on cosmetics.

Please use some spare time to learn how to contribute with anything substantial or constructive in this thread. Don't you understand that you are just pathetic at the moment? Smiley

I highly doubt you will be able to contribute with anything useful related to coding, infrastructure, mining or PR of Burst in the foreseeable future.

I, therefore, suggest you concentrate on something reachable, perhaps more related to language and even pedagogical presentation of content: Try to offer our dear dev a revised version of this thread's OP. Smiley The current one could use an overhaul IMHO, as much have happened since the coin was launched.

Please understand that you will have to understand how Burst works to do a job proper. This will be a challenge, I'm fully aware of this, but you know it's about trying - trying to evolve. Wink If you fail we will understand, we will be supportive and encourage a second try. Smiley

**  Note: As a non-native speaker with dyslexia, I'm very sorry to address you with my bad grammar, phrasing and spelling. I can only hope you will understand me despite this. Smiley

+1, we'd all appreciate it if you gave us a hand like that(re-writing the op).

that little grammar monster Grin m3ta totally hit the wrong forum, he'd rather head over to a spelling forum, than spaming his spell corrections to generate activity  Wink

this forum started to getting weird... we are talking about grammar at page 685

What's the progress on these following plans;
Advanced transactions(escrow, subscription, reserve funds then transfer not yet known portion later)
BurstId authentication system
Allow linking BurstId to burst account for transfers with spending limits.
DHT for off-chain services
Off-chain encrypted messaging and voip between burstid accounts
File storage(disclaimer: still figuring out a good way to do this. this will take a while.)

escrow is done, others are in progress

i know some api

sample
my asset id 18119229184320918134
1. get all order from asset  https://burstcoin.io/burst?requestType=getTrades&asset=18119229184320918134

cut and list all txid
2. get account id from txid https://burstcoin.io/burst?requestType=getTransaction&transaction=10970384731351855020

cut and list all account id
3. get asset balance from account detail https://burstcoin.io/burst?requestType=getAccount&account=BURST-G96T-JFYP-8LFR-9V7KL

but, i want complete code , don't worry for support and bug
please help me

there you know how to do it? why dont you create by yourself? it simple enough
sooner or later you will need support if you dont understand how the code work, and how to implement it, i prefer doing something else usefull for burst
1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 13, 2014, 12:59:26 PM
want to buy dividend sourcecode , run on nodejs for burstcoin
please pm

I thought people were helping each other here. Not ripping each other of.
Like I helped you after you asked me 0.3 BTC to "help" me. Remember that one?

i know, but something can free something can't free (answer free, remote support not free)
i has guide to many user on facebook for free

I didn't ask for remote support. I asked a question and you jumped to offer remote assistance for 0.3 BTC. And despite that I helped you. Thats what a community is all about.
But I see others only see profit.
How do you think things were if Uray and Dcct started charging for their work?

why you have a problem with me ?

send or not sent btc ,It's up to you and this 20 day pass

i think both of you has miscommunication here, or something weird going on

koko, was asked if anybody has the source code to implement dividend feature just like on my pool, well i know this because he asked on PM, but i didn't answer because i am not really understand his question (most of it because of the english language he used), so maybe he asked the forum if anyone can build for him that dividend payment feature and koko is willing to pay for it

yes,sir
i want to buy dividend payment like your pool

F*ck, I thought you have it and you charge for it... FFS

just for clarification, dividend payment code on my pool is separate application, its not part of pool, what this app did is just walking the blockchain and tracking who own what asset, and then make payment based on that balance data, actually its very simple less than 200 lines of code

I didn't make the source code publicly available, nor do i sell it, because :
1. i can't support it (maintenance, bug fix, etc etc)
2. its very trivial if you have knowledge about nxt / burst API, and do some coding
3. i don't want people without any technical knowledge, can buy and make profit from it
4. so to have this feature, you need to learn to code and learn Burst API

if you are asking about burst/nxt API or app development, i would happy to help. but if you ask the source code, i can't help you

Is it possible for burstcoin to reach $0.01

Additional BURST supply is 3'249'000 coins per day, or 32.5k USD/day of constant investments (at $0.01).

I say it is impossible, unless the Burst dev managed to convert Burst network into decentralized Dropbox, when users would pay for distributed encrypted storing of their files with BURST coins.

its not 32K USD/day, its about 1.3 K USD/day
current price of 1000 burst is 0.46 USD ( from http://pool.burstcoin.io/ on dividend tab you can see it realtime udpated each minute)

EDIT : oh yeah its at current price, not at 0.01 USD
