189 BTC proft in 1/2 month, so only 27 years to recover the investment. Then free money for the new owners. Woohoo!

Have you read the SD statystical analysis thread and looked at the monthly profit charts? Big losing strike from 9 to 14 July. Variance. And still BTC77,239.51 total profit so far. At the beginning of 2013, total profit was at aprox. BTC32,000.

Do the math and let me know again.

OK. But their business has fallen off substantially.

The Q2 profit is about 9,000. So 126/9 = 14 quarters or 3.5 years. Somewhat better if that can continue.

SatoshiDice is being sold, in full, to a new company that will take over all ownership, operations, and management.  The total sale price is 126,315 BTC, or 0.00126315 BTC per share.

According to the MPEX Agreement, MPEX holders are entitled to receive 0.00126315 BTC per share, alongside other private owners. However, for the good of the MPEX holders and for the sake of the general Bitcoin community, which the site always has intended to support and nurture, SatoshiDice has arranged to pay MPEX holders an additional .00223685 BTC per share bringing the total to 0.0035 BTC per share.

I inferred 350k based on that, since there are apparently 100 million shares.

350k BTC seems to be an insanely huge number.  Huh

Even 126k BTC is crazy for such a simple piece of software which has gone nowhere for months.

Maybe most of them are not paid up.
Isn't Eric the largest shareholder, and unlikely to dump them quickly, if at all?
1865  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why the Bitcoin Foundation is not intervening in the MtGox case? on: July 17, 2013, 11:54:38 PM
MtGox is lying to their customers and we don't have any sound information about where the main Bitcoin exchange is standing.  Sure the Foundation is much in bed with MtGox - but I would still trust John Matonis if he did the investigation.

But the Bitcoin Foundation is run by the CoinLab goofball.

Didn't he roll away?
1866  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 17, 2013, 11:50:25 PM
Any news on the London Bitcoin exchange which has been mentioned by Max Keiser and others?

A fully professional exchange is sorely needed.
1867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 17, 2013, 10:37:24 PM

Just to get this out there.   Still not sure where we go but...

Good chart but I don't understand why high 1 is in the wrong place. It has to be the 136 area.
And that upper blue line should continue down as significantly, it is actually crossed by the recent rally.

People are far too numerous and spread out to go extinct any time soon.

It seems it did nearly happen once already though when the world population was about 100,000 and it crashed by 90%.

Think its just buggy,
i get a white 503 after first Login (+mild Heart Attack, check url + https)
then i reload mtgox.com and i'm logged in and everything is fine.

Same here. Been happening every time I log in for last couple of weeks. Just press the reload symbol on the URL bar and it will be fine.

I remembered that 900+% debt to GDP figure from this article:

1872  Economy / Economics / Re: MoneyWeek - reliable source? on: July 17, 2013, 08:50:06 AM
I've just been sent a link to them about the UK financial situation and I remember seeing them before but thinking it wasn't a very reliable source.

Does anyone know anything about them?

Here's the link I was sent:

http://pro.moneyweek.com/myk-eob-tpr123/PMYKP703/

They are very knowledgeable and I consider their analysis to be fully correct. UK is the most indebted country in history.
1873  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: July 17, 2013, 07:45:28 AM
Interestingly, after the conversation with support (see a few posts above), the status of my withdrawal has changed from "confirmed" to "pending".

I don't remember the sequence of withdrawal statuses, but isn't it usually "pending => confirmed => processed" ?

I think it is this: "confirmed  => pending => processed"

So you might have progress there!
1874  Other / Meta / Re: Temporary Ban for Press Guideline Violators on: July 17, 2013, 05:47:45 AM
I believe I should be given the power to temporary ban people for 3 days for not following guideline, especially after not fixing their shit after I give a nasty reply and a nasty PM.

Surely it is best to just fix the date yourself, which must take seconds, and send a polite PM with a link to the guidelines. This can be a template mail which will also be quick to send. Banning is a last resort and should be used only for known scammers and spammers.

This frustrating situation is enough to drive one to drink (if either of these could be found).

Quote
Bitcoins arose from a computer program that says "His computer can calculate math problems twice as fast as your computer. Hence, he gets 50 bitcoins for his computing power. For yours, you get nothing."

Seriously, that is how it works.

I guess the "most wrong bitcoin article" competition is still running?
Grin  What is in it for the winner?

A prize choice of 10,000 YAcoins, Royalcoins or Junkcoins
1877  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: July 16, 2013, 01:01:30 AM
Please add Google Authenticator for withdrawal 2FA. I do not want to use email.

Or Yubikey, if you can. Thanks!
1878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 16, 2013, 12:27:58 AM
Not much longer now. The 12 hour chart is unbelievably bullish. The bears in the low 100s are going to be massacred.
