1861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason we need cryptocurrencies on: June 01, 2019, 08:31:27 AM

Cryptocurrency holds  a lot of promise for all of us including the freedom from the abuses and control of the current financial system we are in. Of course, to many cryptocurrency can also mean financial freedom. Human nature has this dark side and that is the tendency to abuse the power given unto us...this is quite true with the banking system and the current global financial system we are in. However, sad to say, the same tendency is slowly creeping in to the cryptocurrency industry and this is something we as a whole should try to stop as this can be an insult and a travesty.
1862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff vs. Barry Silbert: Gold and Bitcoin on: June 01, 2019, 08:17:31 AM

I thought Schiff did a great job pointing to the historical value of gold, though I tend to side with Silbert in this debate. While I am much more bullish about bitcoin than gold, I believe gold is money and a form of insurance to economy uncertainty. I felt Silbert could have done more to rebut Schiff's point about the environmental costs of bitcoin mining.

As for me, both gold and bitcoin each has their own strengths, advantages and weaknesses as well. Now, if I have more funds to invest, I would go for both though since bitcoin has proven to be more moneymaker than gold I tend to give more space for it. However, its good thing to see a debate on this topic so that we can highlight both and an investor can see both sides of the coin before jumping into anything. You can go for gold...you can go for bitcoin or much better go for both...the most important thing is that you go for something.
1863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Americans’ Life Savings Disappear From Mexican Bank Accounts on: June 01, 2019, 08:02:05 AM
What a heart breaking story, the fact is banks can't solve all issues and sometimes banks can easily rip you off ,it happens in my country but bank vs crypto? Its all vice versa ,private keys can be lost too or you simply get hacked

In other words, frauds and scams can be anywhere. Banks or rather some unscrupulous people behind banks can pull some difficult-to-trace heists from unsuspecting depositors and have the many layers of cover-ups be the barrier for full investigation to the matter. In my view, as long as there is money there will always be people who will bite the temptation to make a scam or defraud people -- this is quite true in any industry including the religious sector. And now, we are also seeing the same thing with cryptocurrency industry.
1864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi? on: June 01, 2019, 07:18:23 AM
I think digging too much about Satoshi wouldn't make sense anymore. If he wants to expose himself then it would be just easy but it's his choice to keep things in private so we must respect that. We don't know the reason why he has to hide his identity but it might be for his own safety. There are people who are trying to steal Satoshi's identity but everything won't surely work.

Satoshi Nakamoto is the most figure in the history of bitcoin and since he decided to go underground after some time leading the foundation of it then yes we have to respect his own decision to do so. Even if we can unearth who is this man and where he is now (if he is still alive, that is) it would not matter that much. People who are so obsessed to find the man should instead just take Craig Wright as the most viable replacement. Let's move on because I am sure this is the very wish of the man many would like to search and find...

9) Avoid pyramid schemes, cloud mining, MLM, “earn interests” schemes, and ponzi schemes such as Bitconnect.

This is one of the most common problems that many newbies can get into when they enter the cryptocurrency space. Many think that just because a program is using bitcoin (or any coin for that matter) it is already legitimate only to realize later that they are actually victims of a big scam -- well just like the Bitconnect project (which is coming back by the way). The best thing to do is never jump into the sea without first knowing what you are jumping into.
1866  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-01-06] Bitcoin to Zero: Bitcoin Price Flash Crashes 99% on BTC/CAD on: June 01, 2019, 06:17:03 AM

Bitcoin is going to zero. We’ve all heard the repeated doom and gloom predictions from pundits and critics of digital assets. As recently as last week, the New York Post published an article that was barely a few sentences of useless counterarguments against Bitcoin’s recent rally, asserting the cryptocurrency would soon reach zero.

But have you ever watched Bitcoin almost hit zero right before your very eyes? That’s what happened overnight last night on the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange during trading sessions of the BTC/CAD pair. BTC as you know is the “cashtag” or trading symbol of Bitcoin, and CAD is the symbol for the Canadian dollar.

Crypto traders who keep a small amount of fiat on reserve with bid orders for crypto assets placed extremely low in case of a flash crash, may get filled and experience the most profitable trade of their lives in a matter of seconds.

Furthere Read: https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/05/31/bitcoin-price-flash-crashes-btc/

This is a very interesting news and one that can happen only in a blue moon. Isn't it amazing that the prophets of gloom and doom predicting that bitcoin can go zero in price -- will have their field day on this unique event? How lucky are those who were able to buy bitcoin at just 100 CAD.

1867  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-31] Japan Hardens Rules for Cryptocurrency Storage and Trading on: June 01, 2019, 05:47:44 AM
That's is not a bad thing. Japan is showing they will allow companies to legally offer services of crypto storages and other aspects. Cryptos need to become a legally business

It was probably a good thing imo. Sure, this means more control by the government, but that's inevitable if people want to use centralized exchange where there's a huge risk of hacking and so on. Limiting margin trading is also a good idea as some people are way too greedy sometimes. Like it or not, limiting margin trading would decrease the risk of loss exposure for those users. Hopefully, more positive adoption will come.

Regulation is not bad on itself and it is depending on the kind of government that is regulating it and what are the main intentions for such legalities. With the intention of making the field fairer and to protect the investors, I believe that the government of Japan can be trusted and is in fact a big pioneer on this aspect. There is nothing wrong with enacting laws regulating the use, trade and many areas surrounding cryptocurrency or what this said as "cryptographic assets" making things clearer or more defined. Let's hope that the same thing can happen in other countries like Russia, India and China (where ban is still in effect).
1868  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-03] Which cyptocurrency to use for payments? on: June 01, 2019, 05:32:00 AM
There are hundreds of altcoins providing instant payment confirmations like XRP, EOS, DOGE (almost). I don't feel there is much need of using Lightining when we have loads of altcoins fulfilling every need of users.
Then why is barely anyone using the stated altcoins to conduct payments?

Bitrefill's Lightning payments generated almost just as much transaction volume as ALL altcoins they accepted combined. Now let that sink in.

XRP army is only interested in waiting for institutions to use xRapid so they can sell their bags. EOS is controlled by a few Asian whales that occassionally pump and dump it. Doge is the only altcoin with a community behind it that somewhat focuses on actual usage of the coin.

Forking coin, introducing new networks isn't helping Bitcoin much, rather it is making Bitcoin more complicated. Moreover, it is reducing universal standard acceptance of Bitcoin and making wallets network specific.
Bitcoin isn't forking, scammers fork off because they want to rip off people and make millions in the process. Don't blame Bitcoin for that.

Lightning is instant and makes altcoins pretty much obsolete when it comes to instant transactions. Give it a try to see for yourself. Smiley

I agree with most of your points presented here. There is one big reason why those are called as altcoins because they are not the main coin (in a movie they are not our  leading actors and can be categorized as supporting ones but part of the movie nonetheless). A person who has bitcoin will not think of converting it to altcoin just to be able to make a payment...he will look for any infrastructure (an app perhaps)available that can make payment fast, secure and convenient using, of course, bitcoin. No wonder there are many developmental experiments going on along this aspect for bitcoin because there is a demand for it. While we do appreciate what altcoins can offer, they are just there as alternatives and yes they are useful because they got their own niche market obviously.

1869  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-01] Bitcoin as healthy as ever as the network hits all-time high mining on: June 01, 2019, 05:11:56 AM

Bitcoin is at $8,557.85 per CMC as I am writing this. The whole bitcoin community is very excited to know of this development which bodes well with its overall very positive prospect. At the same time, as what that article stated, "Bitcoin’s hashrate also continues to grow steadily, currently standing at 53.36 EH/s – a good indication that the network is in a healthy state." There are now many good developments around bitcoin and these are telling us of something so good about to come. I am expecting that in the remaining months of 2019, we can see bitcoin explore many new possibilities even beyond what it previously achieved.

1870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: These will be the best months of your crypto career late comers on: June 01, 2019, 04:59:28 AM
For any one that started buying crypto at 18k. U still need to continue buying crypto. Don't stop until it hits 18k again. These last 7 months of the year will continue to have big gains. Your not too late if your forgotten what it's all about. Crypto gains will be massive at the end of the year. All it takes is 10 days for massive gains. And we got 7 months left. Think about. This is my opinion. Very speculative of course. But don't let this slip ur mind.

Speculation is part of human nature. And just like the colorful story of tulip mania in the past, we are doing the same thing with cryptocurrency especially with bitcoin the one and only king of them all. And this rises to the accusation that bitcoin is just a bubbling investment instrument that is risky most especially for beginners and people who are letting their greed as the prime reason for being here. There are risks but also the potential for amazing gains -- this is the reason why there are those who for years are in stocks or forex but decided to include bitcoin into their portfolio for possible astronomical profits...and mostly these people don't care what bitcoin stands for. Right now, analysts are telling us that bitcoin is very pregnant with so many possibilities. Let's hope those possibilities means more gains in the remaining months of 2019 and maybe even into 2020 the year when bitcoin will have its scheduled halving.
1871  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just Hanging On on: May 31, 2019, 04:26:09 PM
I did a little addition to my folio just this morning lol

That is a good decision. There is a small dip right now and we can use this opportunity to add more bitcoin into our 'hodlings.' Not that there is a guarantee here but for me it can be safe to assume that definitely bitcoin will soon be breaching the $10,000 zone...and it is just a matter of time. Bitcoin is gathering all its energy and strength for a big showdown before the end of 2019 and into 2020.
1872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Previous Binance IEO Code review by Bill Petridis on: May 31, 2019, 02:44:26 PM
In short, people who wanted to invest on a project should not look only on where it was held, but also check their github repository since it is where the action of devs can be seen.  It is how code analyst check whether the team is capable of delivering the project or not.

In my estimate, not a majority of investors are technically-inclined to look into matters like this (which is very critical to say the least). No wonder many investors have no inkling of the project that they are supporting. Maybe the best thing is to listen to reputable reviewers (if we can always find them during the crowdfunding stage) so we can be aware of any possible flaws and of course ascertain of the visible strengths as well.
1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 3 Reasons To DUMP Binance Coin (BNB) on: May 31, 2019, 02:33:24 PM

You are actually making some good points. BNB is the very symbol of the success of as well as the trust and confidence of many people for Binance. Where Binance goes, BNB follows. The thing is that people are buying BNB because they are speculating that it will rise in value just like the resiliency that Binance showed when it was hacked weeks ago. When people will sense that BNB has no more a bright future ahead that can be the time when they will dump, dump and dump but until then they wanted to be a part of something that is profitable and exciting...which is what BNB is as of the moment.

1875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whales are out of control = $500 in ten minutes on: May 31, 2019, 01:44:22 PM
Time to do something about the few whales who keep cheating everyone out of their life savings. Let's do a fork and take anything over 10BTC away from those big addresses and redistribute it fairly to everyone.  It is ridiculous and totally ruining everything when one person has 1000s and can mess up the order book on a major exchange.  Where is the fairness in bitcoin?  We have to end the whales who are out of control.

And I could not agree more. The time has come for a great cryptocurrency revolution by redistributing the wealth to the deserving but poor citizens of the global village. But before we do that and to avoid a big mess, let's all plan and agree first on how we should do it. My first suggestion is to rock the boat and stop all the bitcoin madness so we can have a total reset...meaning we should start all over again. This time around there will be no more 10,000 bitcoin just wasted on that two (was it not 4?) boxes of pizzas (sorry I forgot the flavor).
1876  Other / Off-topic / Re: Driveczech - Your Personal Driver in Prague, Czechia now accept Bitcoin! on: May 31, 2019, 12:35:47 PM

We would like to announce, that we accept Bitcoin for chauffeur services in Prague, Czech Republic! And we are proud of it!

You should really be proud to be wearing the "We accept Bitcoin" announcement online and offline. I just visited the site This is a good decision on the part of the business to accept bitcoin as one of the ways to pay the service. I am hoping that more and more passengers or customers would be using this good option. We need small players in the business sector to recognize the potential of bitcoin as a currency that can be utilized everyday. We should be welcoming not just well-known and big merchants to the bitcoin ecosystem but also the small and medium types of business organizations. Bitcoin has a soft heart for the many entrepreneurs all around us...and hopefully this can be another win-win relationship.
1877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Should Bounty Participants Be Capped ? on: May 31, 2019, 12:11:27 PM
Some bounties have more than 5000 people participating in their Telegram campaign bounty (My case study) with total $20,000 in token to be shared. Mathematically, when we placed everybody on a flat rate 20000 divided by 5000 will give us 4. This means each participants shall earn $4 for the duration of 4 weeks or more. This type of overloaded bounty participants also cuts across all other bounties. Should the bounty managers limits numbers of participants ? Or what do you think can be done to encourage bounty hunters ?

I have no problem with the Telegram bounty not being capped but it is the social media that I am concerned about because this is where almost everyday tasks are required and if unlimited participants can be allowed then we can end with little for our hard work in sharing the project. This is one area that calls for balancing...and it is the job of the bounty manager to determine how many hunters should be allowed. At any rate, we can choose the project that we wanted to promote in the first place so we are partly in control.
1878  Economy / Speculation / Just Hanging On on: May 31, 2019, 12:00:42 PM

As of today as per CMC bitcoin is at $8,273.20 a slight dip from the $8,000+ level it already breached. This can be the mini-correction that some analysts predicted before bitcoin will finally go beyond the $9,000 level. It is time that we cheer bitcoin to hang on in the vicinity of $8,000+.

Are you buying more bitcoin at this stage?

This is one service that am sure can find its own niche market. Whenever someone is making us angry, we can just use this site to mail that someone some shit...and then we become happy. And with the help of cryptocurrency, there will bitcoiners who are willing to part with their hoard to take some mini-revenge on someone. Fantastic idea.
1880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Publish0x growth over the last month on: May 31, 2019, 11:40:14 AM
Hello everyone,

I recently started blogging on a new blogging platform that you earn crypto for creating content and upvoting articles (It is free to up vote the articles as it comes from a daily pool, so you are able to earn small amounts of crypto by just upvoting and reading which is great).

In the last month they have doubled their growth of users and they are adding their second token to the platform next month. Both tokens they will have on their platform are listed on CoinMarketCap (Bounty0x tokens + HYDRO). You can read the update in the article below.

https://www.publish0x.com/publish0x-official-blog/publish0x-march-update-xqwxl?a=GELe3POa69

Currently I am really liking the platform, I find it a refreshing change to Steemit and could compete with it if they continue to grow at this rate. I like that the interface is easier to use and you can choose how much you tip and how much you get.

What do you think about the platform? Are you a fellow user?

It's a great platform and i have been using it for a month or so.

It's a great way to earn some bounty0x / HYRDRO tokens, both of which are on a lot of exchanges and have a value that could grow with the market. I would recommend that anyone who is looking for a way to earn some crypto use it. You can sign up by clicking on the article and signing up on the page.

I have been using Steemit for two months now and while I don't find anything wrong with the platform I am looking for many more features and then I read this thread. I am taking a good look at Publish0x now to see if this can also be for me. I love to share my ideas, opinions and even personal matters with the written words and so finding the best platform can mean a lot to me. Plus of course, receiving something out of my hard work can be a big bonus...
