1881  Economy / Economics / Re: We, bitcoiners, should buy a bank on: December 31, 2020, 03:14:35 AM
The idea is good if small banks exist fully independent... But they take loans from the larger banks which I feel might be problematic.

I don't know what thisd solve. If I did, I'd help to create one but I imagine the fees for such thing would be really high too and we already have binance and a few other sites who seem to be trying to do this (6% on eur and usd, 1% on btc etc)...
There is more to that than loans in larger banks. Most countries do not want a bank that takes care of the people first then the state, there is a reason why banks are protected by laws, they are a good money machine for the state. I do not think a bank will work because it will defeat the purpose of bitcoin in the first place, a freedom from archaic institutions. What we should strive to create is a physical market that only accepts cryptocurrencies.
1882  Economy / Economics / Re: China Economy Forecasted to Surpass US Economy by 2028 on: December 31, 2020, 02:35:42 AM
Man power with all the infrastructure let the China to become the manufacturer hub of this world but since covid attack every country realized that they shouldn't be dependent on one country for everything they import so which resulted in some of the biggest companies moving their plant to other countries. Probably China may surpass US economy in the next few years but I swear that US is not going to let them to make it is easier.
That manpower is also the cheapest as far as I know, not to mention the money trap that China puts other small countries in to create a new Silkroad. But, China beating US when it comes to economy is still a dream to be fair, the economy of China is exclusive and most of their wealth is invested in real estate bubble that does not pop because they have exclusive economy.
1883  Economy / Economics / Re: Out of Reach on: December 30, 2020, 06:13:41 AM
The reason that it is out of reach is because most poor people do not know about bitcoin and they do not even have the money to invest in the first place, most poor people live of a daily life with only 1$ here in my country and most of them are out of touch in technology so who is to blame but the people that put them in that position and themselves. It is hard being poor because everything that you do not spend on grows in interest. If we help them get through and give them a portion of bitcoin to hodl themselves and buy it from them when the price increase then it will be for the better.
1884  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is debt on: December 30, 2020, 05:18:08 AM
While reading it, it makes me confused at first but later on, I understand your point and whatever you're up to something which holds you with anger and/or disappointment. Life is our forever debt to the Creator and that's what most believers think. If not a believer, then you can apply that principle that you're explaining. The main point is that you'll see business everywhere. With food, water and other necessities that we need.
Do not be worried about life being a debt, it only hinders how you want to live your life. It only holds you back to do great things that will make you happy. Yes wealth does not buy happiness but the comfort that it brings that you won't starve, become homeless and become desperate is the one that you are paying for. If you think of wealth as a tool to create a comfortable life and not as a tool to rise then you will be happier and you will not go chasing for the money every time.
1885  Economy / Economics / Re: NFL Player Salary Paid in Bitcoin on: December 30, 2020, 04:29:30 AM
Seeing as the talks were already being made back in 2019, you can see that he's already quite the enthusiast. You can already be assured that he isn't one that was persuaded by the immediate profits brought by the bullrun we've had recently, and well, it is quite an interesting thing since this opens up the Bitcoin as a salary option. It was always a possible option, but we all know how there are some limitations that Bitcoin brings about that make this difficult, such as buying the coin itself to pay the workers, when they can freely do so in fiat with the already set up system they have. But hey, I do hope that it could be integrated at least, as an option.
With more and more celebrities promoting the wonders of bitcoin, I think that it will be a matter of time before mass adoption arrives. I hope that this endorsements will not harm bitcoin and its users in the future. Integration will be difficult because the prices is unstable and their salary could go down anytime the price drops and the employers will have a difficult problem of matching the employee's retirement fund with bitcoin, if volatility is solved then the next step will be pretty obvious and far more easier.
1886  Economy / Services / Re: Help the Homeless animals!! Urgent adoption needed !! on: December 29, 2020, 05:43:19 AM
I also forgot on my other post, you can also try to go to crowdfunding websites like GoFundMe, IndieGoGo and other same type of one time support for your project. Patreon and the like is more of a constant support for your project. Hope that my advice can help you a little even though the only thing I contributed is ideas.
1887  Economy / Services / Re: Help the Homeless animals!! Urgent adoption needed !! on: December 29, 2020, 04:50:06 AM
I love your work, I wanted to adopt one or more of your cats if only I was living in EU. I can't even donate because I am getting by too. The only thing that I have is an idea on what to do. If I may suggest, you might look into creating a big shelter for your project. I do not know much about the laws but there should be something that you can do about it. You also should set up, different kinds of channels to donate to your cause like Patreon, Buymeacoffee, and your bitcoin. You also can register the shelter as charity so it can help you unburden with your taxes. I hope that you continue your work because only a few does this kind of thing especially at this day and age.
1888  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Charity Program - Give Hope To Everyone! on: December 29, 2020, 04:08:10 AM
Thank you for giving the links, it seems that planning these operations is a difficult one. I hope that whoever is behind this charity program should create a charity organization. And if they already did, I hope that you do well and expand your program so more people can receive the help from the community.
1889  Other / Politics & Society / Re: All Canadians to be vaccined. Trudeau orders 40 million vaccines for 38 million on: December 28, 2020, 05:52:02 AM
This is insane how are they able to block you from buying groceries without a vaccine? So if you decide against the vaccine you will just starve to death? This is not right. I understand that they want you take it and are unable to force you to do so. But this sounds like extortion to me.
Do you want to risk getting infecting others that haven't been vaccinated yet because you want to buy some groceries? If yes, you are a piece of crap. Also who in their rational mind would fight not to get a vaccination, that is a blatant rejection of science. If people have rejected vaccines, the cases of Polio, measles and smallpox will still be higher than it is right now. If you do not want to get vaccinated then say goodbye to buying in supermarkets and say hello to delivery apps. Just because you know your rights does not mean that you can reject science.
~
I am in favor of mass-vaccination, but I don't agree with such coercive steps. And as far as I could understand, the government can't prohibit anyone from retail stores if they don't have a vaccination pass. It is up to the shopkeepers to put up such restrictions. I really doubt whether any of them would do that, since it can have a negative impact on their business.
I think that problem with anti-vaxxers is only in USA, so you do not have to worry about yourself if you do not leave at that ignorant hellhole country. Businesses have a right to prohibit those that does not have a vaccine or those who are not wearing a mask.
1890  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Charity Program - Give Hope To Everyone! on: December 28, 2020, 03:32:22 AM
Hey good work on your charity, do you have a detailed list of the activities you have done on this year. I looked at the OP, and the activity stopped at number 6. I loved that you are diversifying the way that you do your charity, I wanted to help but I have some priorities too, someday I will be though. I hope that you guys are keeping tabs on the expenditures on your charity because you can use it for some tax exemption.
1891  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Charity Funds on: December 28, 2020, 02:40:41 AM
I did find out about it while scouring for proofs myself, thank you for putting it here to bust out other skeptics. I see that most of the people that they are helping are typhoon/cyclone victims. I hope that other members of this forum follow their footsteps at least in a way they think the best way they could help. Keep up the good work, if the government can't do a thing about the situation of the needy then we should just help each other.
1892  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: December 27, 2020, 10:28:45 AM
No one knows how Bitcoin price will behave. Just call to mind some Bitcoin predictions. How many of them came true?
In 2017 people were sure Bitcoin would never be bellow $15 or $10K.
Well, bitcoin is still a volatile market as it is in 2017, we will never know. But the influx of institutional investors will be different, maybe the prices will stabilize but I believe that it will still dip below than the given number. We have to be cautious, greed blinds people and in turn you might not see a trap in front of you. Always look at the history, it can repeat if we haven't learned a thing about it.
1893  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will Bitcoin trend at this time? on: December 27, 2020, 09:42:07 AM
Some people believe that we have entered a new phase of a growing market that could last into 2021... However, it seems to me that after the parabolic growth of bitcoin, we may soon see a bear market... Many people compare the latest growth to 2016, but it reminds me more of 2017, after which we were in a downtrend for several years!
Downtrend is unlikely for another few months, with a lot of institutional investors pouring in their money for investments, we might see an uptrend for a month or two. The only way that that uptrend will continue is when the real big fishes come in like Amazon and the likes. If anything happens, downtrend or uptrend, just being ready is enough to make sure that there is no shock from the general hodlers.
1894  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying a Tesla with Bitcoin on: December 27, 2020, 08:46:06 AM
Bitcoin price continues to rise and it can really buy many things considering that we are on a peak price again, and we all know that Bitcoin price is more volatile than Tesla so this is going to be an exciting chart to see for sure. Use bitcoin base on your goals, right now I’m confident that we can buy many things through Bitcoin, many already adopted Bitcoin.
Amen brother, having a goal is the best way to utilize your bitcoin, but be careful, having a goal to focus on sometimes lead to a tunnel vision, you might have bought a Tesla right now but the price suddenly shoot up to another ATH to the point that you can buy that same Tesla for quarter of the price that you paid for.
1895  Other / Off-topic / Re: Covid is fud on: December 27, 2020, 08:11:44 AM
COVID itself is not the FUD, the people that is scare mongering or exaggerating are the FUD, learn the difference. It will not be over soon, and no one knows when will it really be over. The economic effects of COVID is not something that can crash markets easily, remember the Great Depression, there were no pandemic back then but the economy crashed. And how come at the time at the height of Spanish Flu, there were no reported economic downturns. The reason for a economic downturn has a lot of factors and simply blaming one of the factors is not a good argument.
1896  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Charity Funds on: December 27, 2020, 06:35:28 AM
I do not mean to be rude but do you have a pictures that serves as a proof. I am kind of skeptic, and I think that it is reasonable to look at what the donation goes through. You mentioned the website can you drop the link for many to see.
1897  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Browser Extension that Gives Bitcoin on: December 26, 2020, 11:30:31 AM
I hope this is not one of such can steal our information or cause trouble that will be unknown to us, instead of having an extension that gives btc i will rather use the faucet that gives small satoshi at intervals, better to be safe than be sorry.
Whatever floats your boat, I do think that it is a matter of preference. I do not know much about this browser extension but how can it hurt you when you are using an adblock browser extension, your ISP already knows your location and anything that you are doing on the Internet. If you already used computer for online shop then it can't hurt because your customer details are already in the storage and being passed somewhere on the Internet. US users need not to worry because their data is already sold by their own governments. Here are some articles to support my claim.

1898  Economy / Speculation / Re: Covid 2.0 UK has suffered massively and BTC is dropping on: December 26, 2020, 09:53:30 AM
Bitcoin is not dropping because of covid , a day ago bitcoin reach a new ATH of 25,000$ and now back to 24,000$+, I believe it's just like every other simple corrections like before, though if the covid 2.0 gets out of hand people might be forced to sell, I do hope we will never get to that
If the governments implement a faster ban on flights this time then we might avoid a catastrophe with the new strain. Hopefully it will not affect the bitcoin prices but if it will ever affect, I think only a small portion of the whole market will be selling since there are more institutional investors that are in there for the long term hold. Believe in the market, the prices will definitely go up but do not let your guard down.
1899  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will institutional investors kill the four year boom/bust cycle? on: December 26, 2020, 08:45:33 AM
Who knows, maybe they are planning to dump when almost all the coins are bought or not. There are a lot of things that can happen but I think that institutional investors will be influencing the prices from now on. There are more whales now, and these new ones know the inner workings of a market and the psychology behind it. In my opinion, it is still far too early for us to form a conclusive thought about the institutional investors joining the fray, the best thing that we can do as an observer is to watch what happens next.
1900  Economy / Economics / Re: Value Today of $1000 Invested 5 Years ago (Bitcoin and Stock) on: December 26, 2020, 06:28:59 AM
Who would have thought, right? I got into Bitcoin almost 5 years ago and it was beyond my crazy imagination that Bitcoin would reach $24,000 a few years later. I guess many people weren't looking forward to a $24,000-Bitcoin at that time. While many were generally positive on Bitcoin's future, they must have sold a lot when their Bitcoin investment already doubled or tripled in value.

Well, lucky for those who have held on to their Bitcoin all these years. As for me, I learned a precious lesson. If $24,000 is possible in a decade's time, $30,000 is possible in a year's time.
No one would've thought because if everyone speculates about the increase in prices then the proportion of people becoming more doubtful about the price increase increases also. The best thing to do right now would be to hold what is in your wallet or go all the way and sell everything whenever you feel that it will be enough. The lesson that I have learned so far is not be extreme when it comes to being optimist and pessimist, always consider that both scenario can happen.

If you invested $1,000 in BTC and Stock 5 years ago, here’s how much you’d have now:

Bitcoin : $51,269
Shopify : $46,905
Etsy : $22,320
Nvidia: $15,688
Tesla: $14,010
PayPal: $6,471
Apple: $4,850
Amazon : $4,718
Netflix : $4,385
Microsoft : $3,790
Facebook : $2,553
Google : $2,290
This list only makes me cry inside but I do not have the money back then so what can I do but to grind myself to get some for investment. In the end, we never knew that it will go this far, there were a lot of FUD's spread around that some were scared and at that time, scams were more bolder that they even held seminars and event gatherings that the people generalized bitcoin and put it together with the scams.
