Well if the pitch stays the same then we can expect India to cross at least 300 runs at the end of day 3 (without losing many wickets) as guys like Gill, Rohit and Iyer won't take a conservative approach and will surely play attacking cricket. India also needs a couple of daddy hundred from their top 5 batsmen. If not then they are doomed.

The pitch still looks the same but being aggressive means you would lose wickets. India lost its first wicket to Rohit Sharma. Shubhman Gill seems good and the way he is playing now will surely help India in chasing this massive target. I want Kohli to do something today as he has not scored anything in this entire BGT. This might be his only opportunity to get back to his groove otherwise he might also face the axe as KL Rahul did in this series.
1882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project according to you is solving real world issues? on: March 10, 2023, 02:00:34 PM
I am aware of the above three projects. I still believe the only project that can solve real world financial issue is Bitcoin. For Blockchain I would always recommend Ethereum. Apart from these two I found a few that might be able solve real world issues.

Here are two projects that I have been following for quite sometime now. I would recommend you to DYOR before investing in them.

1.CASA
2.REGEN

Click on those links to know more about them rather than asking what these two projects are all about.

In the end, again Ashwin came to rescue India. Still, a 480 run target is not that easy to chase as the pitch is now favoring spin. Usman Khawaja may have scored 180 runs but if you compare his performance with Green's and if Green was still on the pitch rather than Khawaja then I think Australia would have scored somewhere around 600+ runs. Umesh Yadav was one of the most expensive Indian bowlers today. BTW, Patt Cummins's mother passes away after a prolonged illness today. May her soul rest in peace.

Bitcoin CEO is the best… he launched a new bitcoin ad

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/11n7b1a/new_bitcoin_ad_just_dropped/

That is Coinbase and not Binance. Still the ad is pretty good considering it typically points out the issue faced by everyone who has a bank account.

BTW have we touched the bottom yet or it is just the beginning?
1885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WPL Prediction & Discussion Season -1(2023) on: March 10, 2023, 02:42:06 AM
MI is rocking the first season of WPL! They have been undefeated till now and I think they have a very good chance to be the winner of the first WPL. On the other hand, we have RCB who looked pretty good team on paper but have not yet won a match. Like the men's team, they are struggling pretty hard. Smriti Mandana has not been effective as a captain or as an opener for RCB. I somehow feel the name RCB is jinxed! Whatever they do they always lose.
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 10, 2023, 02:37:54 AM
TBH It was a pretty flat deck on day 1. There was no help for the bowlers at all so can't blame them.

Yeah, our seamers didn't utilize new ball today and looked pretty average but Umesh was unlucky to not get any wickets as Bharat dropped a simple catch. Although spinners were good with their line n length. I guess Rohit made a mistake by taking the second new ball, things were looking pretty balance but the last 10 overs with the new ball changed the momentum, thanks to Green.

I was reading some articles before the match started about the pitch and it stated that the pitch will remain normal. Normal here means that it would not help spinners from day 1. I think it might help Ash & Jaddu after lunch today. It would be good to keep the pacers on rather than experimenting with the spinners. If Green & Khawaja keep on batting like they did yesterday then Australia would easily score somewhere around 400+ runs which would not be easy for the Indian batters to chase. The partnership needs to be broken and I am sure Rohit knows that too.
1887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Did anyone saw the New Bitcoin Advertisement? on: March 10, 2023, 02:02:06 AM

Coinbase just launched a new marketing campaign on Twitter by dropping a New Bitcoin advert. It is pretty good as it highlights some of the biggest flaws of the US financial system. If you have not watched it then you can view it here

Good strong batting displayed the Australian team on the first day. I won't say Indian bowlers bowled bad. Australia played really well. Usman Khawaja is on the driving seat and Green is just giving him the support he needs.

Day 1 goes in favour of Australia. Day 2 might help the Indian side. The magic of Ashwin and Jadeja did not work today. Although Shami was good but Umesh Yadav did not get any wickets. I think Rohit should have given these two more overs rather than completely relying on the spinners.
1889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WPL Prediction & Discussion Season -1(2023) on: March 09, 2023, 03:18:54 AM
Great job! @Vaskiy. A seperate thread for WPL was needed. I am not sure why no one was aware of this thread. I would recommend you to send DM to all those members whom you see active on the other T20 thread to come here and discuss about WPL matches. Already WPL has started with a bang and many members are actively discussing about it. I would do that from now onwards.

Another 200+ game. Wow. These ladies are seriously delivering some great games right at the beginning of the tournament. RCB looks like they might chase down the target since they still have players like Perry etc who can bat well.

Also, I just noticed the new DRS rule regarding wides and no-balls which is an excellent call by the BCCI.

The women RCB team like their men counterpart is also jinxed. Whatever they do on the field doesn't help them to win matches. On paper both men and women team look absolutely brilliant but on field they struggle. I am not sure what is wrong with this team. I thought first that they would easily set a target of 200+ runs but unfortunately they could not. 190 was still a competitive target but RCB bowlers were very ineffective against Giants batters especially Sophia.
1891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 09, 2023, 03:00:49 AM
I am suprised once again that after winning the toss NZ decided to bowl first. I am not sure what strategy are being implemented by the team management. The start that Srilanka got surely states that NZ tactics did not go as planned. Srilanka has only lost 3 wickets scored 190+ runs and would easily score 300+ by the end of day 1. If they don't lose wickets in quick succession.

The last test match of BGT would start today. I am pretty much excited for it. Australia after a change of captainship has played exceptionally well in the last test matche. They know that India would try to give their 100 percent in order to win this match and qualify for the test world cup. I am sure they would try their level best to stop India. The big problem with India has been unreliable batting. If they are able to work on it then it would be very hard for Australia to defeat India.
1892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did you know the significant difference between Bitcoin and CBDC on: March 08, 2023, 03:10:01 PM
I think you're stretching this too much. Successfully converting a fake fiat into a CBDC doesn't destroy the WHOLE purpose of the digital currency. If I'm to use the same logic then it's like saying that the purpose of a bank is completely ruined if a counterfeit manages to enter their safe or vault. It doesn't stop these banks from operating since there are still security measures in place to prevent it from happening or procedures to minimize the effect of such blunder.

The purpose of banks is questionable from the day they came into existence. What OP said is correct, the purpose of CBDC is to simply create an environment that is suitable to again to gain confidence and provide financial stability among local citizens.

Quote
While there are many potential options for designing and implementing a CBDC, one important consideration that spans all the approaches is security. Like cash and conventional electronic payment systems, security considerations for a CBDC include the prevention of counterfeiting, fraud, and double spending. Given the likely importance of a CBDC to a jurisdiction's financial system and broader economy, other security considerations include anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism, consumer protection, and financial stability.

I am quoting the above from the link shared by OP. CBDC is compared with Bitcoin by governments around the world with their local population as the best option against Bitcoin. The best they can say it is supported by the chosen government (as per democracy). As per my understanding, CBDC is nothing more than a local fiat currency with lots of loopholes. Whereas Bitcoin does not have those loopholes.

On the other hand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Ireland have not qualified so far, but Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies have to play qualifier matches to qualify them.

Out of the teams that are yet to qualify I have serious doubts about WI. I do not see any issue of Srilanka getting qualified or South Africa but WI has already played the required quota of matches. The fight would be between Srilanka and South Africa and in the end, it will all depend on the NRR for both these teams. It would be interesting to watch which of these two teams will qualify for the world cup.
1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 08, 2023, 04:57:05 AM
I have not encountered such an issue as I tend to keep my eyes fixed on the number of zeros I enter whenever I am using Bitcoin. I personally tend to prefer either DOGE or TRX for placing any bets.  It is unusual in my opinion to make such a mistake. Losing a bet is a different thing but accidentally placing more than you wanted to is just carelessness. Next time keep your mind free and stay calm before placing any bets.
1895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 08, 2023, 04:48:06 AM
^^ Australia always gives a tough fight tho, although in my recent memory, 2017 series in India was more competitive as most of the matches were tight, that's why no one takes them lightly.

Considering India's record at home, Australia would take a 2-2 result gladly and can claim the victory, rightly so. For 2-2 Australia need to play their A-game again and hope India plays a shitty one like the last match.

In a span of 10 years, the Indian test team has only lost 3 test matches when played on home ground. A single loss cannot over shadows their excellent performance as a test team. I am confident that they will come back strong and overcome all the issues the batting lineup has been facing in the past three matches. I would say that the team management could have promoted Axar Patel up the order in the previous match above Ashwin as he has proven in this tournament that he can score good runs. Keeping him down the order only increases the pressure when the top and middle order collapse.

Australia would be happy with any result they know that the real test is not the BGT but the test world cup. They have already qualified for it and I am sure they would not be as competitive as they were in the third test. That does not mean that they would give a tough fight to India. That means the pressure would be on Rohit and his team to get into the final of the ICC events.
1896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 07, 2023, 11:19:14 AM
Bangladesh had already qualified for the ODIWC. I am not sure why there is so much fuss about them losing the ODI series at home. They are currently ranked above Pakistan on the qualification points table after winning the last match against England because of NRR.

In comparison they are far better than Australia & Pakistan. Bilateral series doesn't make a big difference. In the end what matters the most is how well you can play in an ICC tournament. I am pretty much confident that this Bangladesh team will play much better than many big teams in the ODIWC.
1897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 07, 2023, 11:10:11 AM
^^^ I don't know who will win the 4th and final test match. But one thing is sure. The series has become alive after lop-sided matches during the first two tests. Australia will be having the momentum, after their huge 9-wicket victory at Indore. And the Indian curators will be confused. If they prepare a pitch that supports spin, then Australia have Nathan Lyon, Matthew Kuhnemann and Todd Murphy in their lineup and may trouble the Indian batsmen. If they prepare a flat track, then there is a good chance that the match will end up as a draw. And by some chance if they make the track pace-friendly, then Starc and Boland will destroy the Indians.
Undoubtedly you are underestimating the Indian side just because they lost the third test match. I am pretty much sure the Australian side would be thinking in the same manner  Grin. They did that before the series even started and lost two matches back to back. Just hold your horses before coming into any conclusion. You will get all your answers when the last test match of this tournament start.
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 07, 2023, 05:15:13 AM
Mandana was bought at a very high price due to her agressive batting ability in T20 format but it seems her performance in the WPL has been below average. I understand once in a while batters struggle to get into form but losing the form in a tournament that pays you better than your cricket board doesn't looks good in the long run. Considering RCB team management for both men & women I don't think it will affect her that much but it might affect her standing in the national team.

Congratulations Haley Matthews on becoming the first orange cap holder in Women Premier League. 47 runs in just 31 balls against GGT and then yesterday she scored 77 runs in just 38 balls. She also took 3 wickets & gave 28 runs. What a tournament this has been for her.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 06, 2023, 04:12:36 AM
The second T20 match in the WPL yesterday against Giant and Warriorz was pretty close. Warriorz won because of incredible batting by Grace Harris, she made 59 in just 26 balls. The target given by Giants was not that bad. It was competitive for the Giants to win as Warriorz with just 1 ball left. Such close-finish matches are what make league cricket worth watching.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 06, 2023, 03:42:18 AM
Bharat didn't do anything special with the bat but it's also true for every top order batter in the team and he hardly made any mistakes behind the wickets if we neglect the few DRS calls.

So i believe they'll go with Bharat again as he's superior WK when compared to Kishan. I'd still prefer spin tracks.
Bharat is far better than Ishan Kishan behind the stumps. I also agree that his batting hasn't been up to the mark but replacing him for just that reason doesn't make any sense. Recently KL Rahul was replaced by Shubhman Gill considering his present form but the outcome is still not satisfactory. I think India should stick with the present team and not make any more changes. All they need to do is work on their batting.
