The fork of the 7 year old coin reduces the value of the coins miners receive. More than 100 million coins in circulation appeared after the fork. Who will believe that the capitalization of this coin will exceed 5 billion if we expect a price of $50?
1882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gpu vega 11 on: February 03, 2023, 10:56:19 AM
Can i mine ethw or etc for some profit with a vega 11 integrated into the amd ryzen 5 if yes can i overclock it? better settings?
Vega 11 on igpu doesnt have vram, they only use from ram, which is not fast enough for mining, and wont be profitable, for testing and learning is ok, normal vega has hbm2 memory quite ton of bandwidth, fit for memory extensive algo like eth, progpow, autolyko2
AMD Ryzen 5 is a regular budget processor with 12-16 threads, which is useless in mining. One processor will pay off for a very long time, and a computer with this processor will not pay off in mining. Devil2man asked funny questions, without him I'm very bored.

YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead uncovered the pictures of the new mid-range and entry-level gaming GPUs.
We are just weeks away from a formal launch of first gaming laptops equipped with GeForce RTX 40 series, some of which are featuring yet unseen Ada Lovelace GPUs.
MLID obtained two photos of said GPUs, the AD106 and AD107 to be precise. These are to launch as RTX 4070 and RTX 4060/4050 series respectively by the end of this month.

I'm having issues with dual ETC+ZIL on crazypool. The miner doesn't ever switch off ZIL once it switches over to it.

Quote
lolMiner.exe --apiport 8020 --tls off --worker 7900xtx --algo ETCHASH --pool us.crazypool.org:7000 --user etcwallet.7900xtx --enablezilcache --dualmode zil --dualpool us.crazypool.org:5005 --dualuser zilwallet.7900xtx

Using the above syntax no errors or issues on startup. v1.65.

Any ideas on why it won't switch back? Is it a bug in the miner or some incompatibility with the pool?

7900XTX on latest AMD driver.
try this pool and their easy setup for beginners

I had no errors when mining with this pool. Or if you don't want to change the pool, then try contacting their tech support to have them check your settings. Try mining for a while, make sure you have problems with the crazypool or settings.

Miners will support the coin that will give a guaranteed profit. Not many miners will be mining at a loss, expecting $50 in the next bull run. This coin is perfectly mined on old video cards, but the high cost of electricity prevents many miners from using old video cards.

Data Shows 50% Of Bitcoin Hashrate Controlled By Two Mining Pools
The graph shows that over 80% of Bitcoin’s mining power is concentrated among just 5 pools. This contrasts with the beginning of 2022, when these five mining pools barely exceeded 60% of the hashrate.

Centralization in bitcoin mining is increasing rapidly.
1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Intel enters desktop dGPU market on: February 02, 2023, 09:32:26 AM
The big problem is that there are no miners for new algorithms yet, and on old coins this video card will lose to older generations of Nvidia and AMD. I would like to see NEXApow hashrate.
lolMiner has added basic support for Intel Arc Desktop GPUs in verison 1.62 on the following algorithms: ETC, ETC+KAS (1), Kaspa, Flux, Ergo, Beam (2) & Equihash 144/5 (2)
Fees are equal to Nvidia and AMD GPUs on the corresponding algorithms.
Tested Intel OpenCL driver versions are 22.24.23453 and 22.32.23937.

(1) Only on the 8G+ Intel GPUs: A580, A750 and A770
(2) Beam and Equihash are experimental on Intel GPUs. Also see known issues when running multiple cards.
ETC, ETC+Kaspa, Kaspa, Flux, Ergo are better to mine on AMD 5000 series video cards. For example, the RX5600 will show very good power consumption at $130. I'm not sure Intel will win this battle. If the price of these coins rises a lot, then there will be enough space for all video cards, but I do not believe in it.
1888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Guide lolMiner 1.66 - Nexa - HiveOS on: February 02, 2023, 09:25:08 AM
Does lolMiner support mining Nexa on Intel GPUs?
So far, the miners are optimized only for Nvidia video cards. If there are no miners for AMD video cards, then the profit is very small. There are very few Intel GPUs in mining, and they are all unprofitable right now, so ominized miners will be the last to appear if Intel does not start to change the situation.
1889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: February 02, 2023, 09:20:09 AM
RTX 4050 series also spotted, although I doubt it would be that much of an interest - https://www.techradar.com/news/nvidia-rtx-4060-and-4050-gpus-spotted-but-dont-get-your-hopes-up-too-much
The RTX 4060 and 4050 graphics cards will compete with the RTX 3060, 3060ti and 3070. The 3000 series is now stocked with many stores, but these cards provide very little profit in mining, and gamers prefer to buy slightly used graphics cards at a discount. They will appear in laptops, but there are a lot of questions with sales in stores.
1890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Whats the downside of Crypto GPU mining? on: February 02, 2023, 09:13:40 AM
Mining on videocards is available to any user. An ordinary person will not buy an ASIC for a house or apartment because of its noise and high power consumption. The videocard has a longer warranty period and sells well to miners and gamers.
Yes, mining on GPUs (graphics processing units) such as video cards is more common among individual miners due to their lower cost and relative ease of use compared to ASICs (application-specific integrated circuits). Additionally, GPUs can also be used for gaming, which allows them to have a secondary market value after they are no longer profitable for mining. However, it's worth noting that the power consumption of GPUs can still be relatively high, and the increased demand for GPUs from miners has led to shortages and higher prices for gamers.

In 2013, there were also AMD Radeon HD 7990 video cards with high power consumption up to 400 watts, and this did not prevent home miners from using these video cards in mining. Asics have service problems in many countries or lack of good repair services.
The benefits of using graphics cards (GPUs) for mining include versatility, flexibility, lower upfront cost, ability to overclock, easier repair or replacement, more widely available, and decentralization of the network.

Its good to know upside and downside for both of the hardware before you get into mining.
And how to use these advantages now, when mining is unprofitable in many countries or a video card has a payback period of 1000-3000 days or even more?
When there are a lot of miners, these advantages will not bring profit. For the last 7 years before the end of Ethereum mining, only this coin gave a stable income to most miners.

The only ones now having a try by taking advantage of the GPU mining are those who have already the gear and are the ones who have mostly Nvidia 3000 series which consume relatively low energy.

These can try Ethereum substitutes as these substitutes are the same in price when Ethereum started exactly 7 years ago and while they maybe mining at a loss for now who knows what happen during the road in long term like in 2 or more years from now.Only these guys can claim benefits, the ones buying everything from the beginning are the ones risking who may end in profit in the long run but can also incur losses, while those who have the gear can most likely afford electricity bills and such continue even at a small loss chasing the bigger benefits.
More or less worthy profit now on new video cards RTX 4070-4090.
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus
Today the Dynex coin shows a good profit, but in a few days I am sure the profit will decrease. As if Nvidia is issuing new coins for a new 4000 generation of video cards  Smiley And most of the shitcoins that are currently being mined may die in 2 years.

Hello! Please tell me if failover pools in will be added pools.txt file?

The README.md file says:
"Failover pools are set by using `-o` multiple times.!"
-o stratum+tcp://pool.woolypooly.com:3124 -o stratum+tcp://pool.eu.woolypooly.com:3124
This coin has 2 large mining pools

Do you want to use ready-made templates where you need to change pools and wallet and do not want to read a little readme to change the finished bat file?

what do i do wrong Huh
The reason may be overclocking of the video card, but such errors often occur on other miners, so you need to study the article and independently look for the causes of this error.

GeForce RTX 4090 as eGPU
Overall, the card may lose 20% of its performance on average when used as eGPU. This performance is of an overclocked GPU (+249 MHz on GPU, +1500 MHz on memory and at 133% power limit). It is a big performance loss, but one should remember that it is attached to a small laptop not even designed for gaming.

The only problem with this particular setup is the cost. The GPU alone costs $1600, while the enclosure is another $300. So, it is as expensive as a high-end gaming laptop itself.

1899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: February 01, 2023, 08:45:10 AM
I think that the price of this card is reasonable compared to the other price increases we have seen from the old generation to the new one. However I am not expecting an increase in the hash rate if the 4060 ti since it will still be an 8 GB card, and as such in hash rate a maximum this card can have because of the new technology should be near 70-73 Mhsh on the most optimistic scenario. They have improved at a point though, the power consumption by default here is 160 watt much different from the 3060 ti which it was 220 or 200 watt as a default and when tuned got to 120 watt, maybe this tuned goes to 100 watt making it the most efficient card for mining until now.
Do you compare new graphics cards and their electricity consumption by Ethereum hashrate?
In Russia RX 570 8 GB costs $75 right now and this video card has a good potential for downvolting on the Ethash algorithm, but the problem is that miners do not need these video cards now due to low profit.

I usually do that comparison because it is the one who has worked great for me in order to get the best out of the hash rate for a card and what better tool of comparison than that of the Ethash algorithm which is now being used by EthereumPoW and EthereumFair.

I know that we are running at a loss but when I buy a new video card,I aim for the long run despite running at a loss and I want to mine as many of these new coins like EthereumPoW and EthereumFair as possible while maintaining the lowest level of energy consumption, right now I am mining with one 3060 ti and one 2060 12 GB and the maximum power consumption is 250 watt together with other parts measured at the wall with a Watt meter, the hash rate is 97 Mhsh.
I know the new generation of cards will upgrade this by running let's say the 4060 ti at 75 Mhsh for 100 watt and that is how I see the upgrade in performance of graphic cards, but anyone has their own idea.
You are very mistaken if you use nvidia video cards for the ethash algorithm.
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus/3060ti
I agree that we have been mining ethereum for 7 years, and all calculations were made for this algorithm, but now we have to look for other solutions for profitable mining.
