1241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia products for AI on: June 15, 2023, 06:26:32 PM
With no big customers named, AMD's AI chip challenge to Nvidia remains uphill fight

Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD.O) on Tuesday gave new details about an artificial intelligence chip that will challenge market leader Nvidia Corp (NVDA.O), but the company left out what Wall Street wanted to know - who plans to buy it.

Santa Clara, California-based AMD said the forthcoming chip, which will start trickling out in the third quarter followed by mass production beginning in the fourth quarter, will have 192 gigabytes of memory.

That could help tech companies get a handle on the spiraling cost of delivering services similar to ChatGPT, AMD Chief Executive Lisa Su told Reuters in an interview. She spoke following a keynote presentation in San Francisco during which Su showed an AI system on the MI300X chip writing a poem about the city.

Nvidia, whose shares have surged 170% so far this year, dominates the AI computing market with a market share of 80% to 95%, according to analysts.

1242  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How can i start bitcoin mining? on: June 15, 2023, 02:41:12 PM
I will really like to know if there are other step of mining bitcoin apart from these step?

When you choose and set up your bitcoin mining hardware.

And to create a dedicated wallet.

And as well configuring your mining equipment.

Maybe it's better to read the forum first and do some research about what you're asking here. Because it's actually not easy to do Bitcoin mining, apart from the fact that it requires a lot of capital, you must also have deep knowledge about the thing you're entering it into.

It's hard to just waste your capital if you don't have enough knowledge about it. Although, this forum will help, I advise you to watch other tutorials about Bitcoin mining on youtube just to get an idea anyway and do some research on google as well.
A large investor capital is not enough for mining without access to cheap electricity. It is not difficult to buy several ASICs for yourself, making a rosette for them, but mistakes on a large farm will take a lot of profit due to breakdowns, because each new ASIC is expensive today and staying asics even in warranty repairs also deprives you of profit.
1243  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Russia Becomes World’s Second-Largest Crypto Miner on: June 15, 2023, 02:33:39 PM
“In terms of global mining capacity, Russia, according to expert estimates, ranks second in the world with a hashrate share of 13-15%, second only to the United States,” Ogienko from BitRiver quotes figures. — Today in our country 1.3-1.7 GW of electric power is consumed for mining, 60% of the market belongs to industrial data centers from 10 MW, and 40% is distributed in the retail segment. About 300,000 mining devices operate in Russian specialized data centers.”

1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which are profitable coins to mine? on: June 15, 2023, 02:30:44 PM
With the hangover from ETH still holding down the market, most of the people I know who were GPU mining during the last bubble in 2021 have given up mining.  Even those in areas with insanely cheap power that could still be mining profitably are no longer interested and don't see it as their opportunity to easily get rich anymore.  This fatigue is usually when I see the market changing.  I will admit I've also shut down my miners that were barely profitable due to heat in the summer not making it worth the cooling effort.  In my experience, times like now when mining seems like a lost cause is when it's the most profitable looking back.
Mining on new video cards now resembles a useless use of a valuable resource, and miners turn them off from mining. Old video cards give little profit and such mining is used to accumulate coins, but 10-20 cents a day for each video card seems like a small investment.

I love the idea of rewarding Banano tokens for using Folding@home and supporting such a well-known and large project, but how much profit will you get from mining?
If the profit is low, then it is not interesting for many miners, because mining has certain costs and cannot work with losses.
I have no data about if the mining is profit or not, so I hope anyone who has data about their mining of this coin want to share it.
Do you write your Mining Tutorial based on your experience or do you use information from the internet?
This token is very cheap, and the reward for activity must be large in order to pay off the work of the mining farm.

5.3ghz just one unit ethash for gpus is dead.what next? 10ghz for one unit? But idont care because i believe there will be new algo for gpus better than this.damn asic manufucktures.sorry for bad words.
Buy 2 asics and get 11000MH/s ,3800W Grin
These characteristics look good against the background of consumption by modern asics for bitcoin.
What coin besides Ethereum Classic will be profitable to mine on this ASIC?
I don't understand what kind of coins these asics are made for.

The long story short, the simulated RX 7800 XT appears to be 4% (1080p), 8% (1440p) and 12.5% (2160p) faster than Radeon RX 6800 XT, which is not a big upgrade. One must not forget though that this is a simulation, so the results may not correspond to real-world product, which does not even have rumored specifications yet. AMD Radeon PRO series are designed for better power efficiency, so even by adjusting clocks and TBP, the BIOS may still be forcing lower results, simply because this card was not designed for gaming workloads.

1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which are profitable coins to mine? on: June 14, 2023, 04:44:54 PM
I think that if you already have the gear and you want to run it,even at a small loss, meaning to put little money from your pocket to pay for the energy your GPU-s consume I would suggest you do.I am doing the same,I am running my mining rig dual mining ETC+ZIL and right now is the worse time to do that, nevertheless every single ZIL I make I put it at Atomic Wallet and stake it there, the rewards are good if you have at least 9.000 ZIL in total. You can also run the rig or GPU-s you have if you are a firm believer that we will have a next bull run 1.5 years after the halving which will be in April 2024,meaning the next bull run to be most likely in Q4 2025.

If you don't believe then what is the point in running your GPU-s/rigs,you should turn them off and call it a day while you wait for profitable times, however as already said here it will be difficult to find again such times now.
It's a strange idea to mine ETC+ZIL on video cards. Dual mining does not seem to work on ASICs. If you look at the calculator, then which coins will be unprofitable in terms of profit or in the last places in the calculator. For profit, you need to constantly choose profitable shitcoins, and then exchange them for other shitcoins, the price growth of which you are sure.

That depends on the point of view, while I can agree that many people will agree with your choice I personally will never stop mining ZIL as every single ZIL I mine is staked in Atomic wallet and I also buy at least 1000 or more ZIL-s weekly,I intend to have a huge amount of them the more time passes, the more ZIL I want to have in my wallet but not only that, they will give me additional ZIL-s daily and that is the number one reason I will never leave ZIL out of my mining activity.I always prepare for the long haul and despite seeing a lot of trouble before getting there, usually when I get there I am happy with my achievement.

For ETC I just mine it as it is directly supported to exchange in ZIL through Atomic wallet and that is the reason I have chosen to mine it,as you see I believe strongly in the future of ZIL and all my preparation is geared toward them.
So you can mine ZIL coins in dual mode with other coins. If everything is correct, then the miner uses a little time to mine ZIL, so this coin can be mined with different profitable coins in dual.

Someone of you knows a coins which is profitable to mine with a gpu or  with gpus? Something new, something like Ethereum was years ago.
Miners have been waiting for the new Ethereum for a long time, but for now, you can see the list of coins in this calculator.
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus
There is nothing to mine now, the payback period for the equipment is long. And many coins are more profitable to buy than to mine.

Hashrate.no is to inaccurate. So much missing hashrates, much missing dual mine combinations on many gpus, using software readed wattage for the calculations - this is mostly to low, the commandlines for oc mostly only for lolminer (because they are lolminer admins).......
There is no perfect calculator for miners, and that's a good thing. If all the coins were there, then active miners would not have a chance to make a profit on the new coin.

Yeah fuck that stealing, scammy shit pool. It amazes me how many people actually still mine there  Shocked
I have seen many similar stories and any pool after the accusation speaks of software errors. The share of the pool is 30% now and 43,000 dollars worth of coins are mined per day. The pool has to freeze $90,000 worth of nex coins for a quick payout to the miners, and the pool won't cheat because it's afraid of more scandals.
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Comprehensive Review and Future Implications for KAS Coin Mining on: June 14, 2023, 04:08:26 PM

Quote
ASIC miners will completely replace video cards from the mining of this coin. Ethereum classic is now unprofitable to mine on video cards and the same will happen with the Kaspa coin. FPGAs will be able to compete a little, but ASICs will win this battle.

Indeed, ASIC miners tend to be more efficient and powerful than GPUs when it comes to cryptocurrency mining. They are specifically designed for this purpose and have a high hash rate per power consumption. Mining unfortunately is Getting industrialized.

Indeed it is, but not always. Sometimes the sale of asics brings a good profit to the developers of the coin and the developers of these asics who are interested in this business. But soon the number of coins for mining will decrease and miners will not buy ASICs for this coin. And there seems to be no other coins for these ASICs.
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: June 14, 2023, 03:58:56 PM
Decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Sturdy Finance has offered a $100,000 bounty to the hacker that exploited the protocol. The lending platform said that its team won’t pursue the issue further if the attacker accepts the offer.

On June 12, the DeFi platform suffered a loss of almost $800,000 in digital assets when an attacker exploited vulnerabilities within the platform. Security firms pinpointed that the cause of the exploit was a faulty price oracle and the hack was carried out through a reentrancy attack. In response, the platform paused all markets and assured the community that other funds were not at risk.

1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW Specification LEAKS Jasminer X16-P (5535MH) on: June 14, 2023, 03:57:15 PM

Exactly , my own take Asics are the only way to go currently after ETH merge. Litecoin and Bitcoin also my choice just because they are one of the oldest POW coins to mine, meaning ASIC development is so far ahead on these as new miner releases wont be as much as efficient as it would be on some newer altcoins.
Ethash also good mining Algorithm but there is no good coins to mine with it.
Halvings are coming soon, first for Litecoin, then for Bitcoin. Ethash may be a good algorithm for mining and projects, but this algorithm was invented specifically in order to exclude the mining of coins using ASICs. If you follow the tradition, then the algorithm needs to be changed again in order to remove ASICs from it.
1255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: June 14, 2023, 03:39:58 PM
Modern video cards often do not impress with some design frills, although if you wish, you can find adapters, including in different colors. Zephyrus went further and introduced the first 3D card with a pink PCB.
The RTX 3060 Ti really looks unusual because of this. At the same time, the casing of the CO for some reason is not at all pink, but white, although with a pattern. In addition, the casing includes a panel that covers the back of the card, which is why the pink printed circuit board is only visible at the PCIe slot and in the slots on that very back panel.

So etc must be cheap always so these asic will make 10-20bucks a day  Grin
You are wrong in your calculations. Jasminer X16-P has not been added yet, but even if he was mining today, the profit was not more than 7 dollars per day, with an electricity cost of 5 cents.
https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-e9-pro-3-68gh
But the launch of new asics will reduce the profit and increase the difficulty of mining.

Hello friends, in this thread I will tell all the ways to take care of laptops that used for mining.

It's not the beginning of 2022. Video cards are very cheap, and it’s not worth buying laptops for mining now. Many laptops after mining are sold in 2023, it is better to write a few tips on how discount lovers should not buy such laptops. I would be wary of laptops that were bought at the peak of ethereum mining and have video cards that could mine ethereum.

Thanks for sharing. I might mine some.
I'm glad to be helpful. There is only one way to make money on such a coin. Wait until there is a listing on the exchange and try to sell the coin with a good profit. But the coin may not live to see the listing, so the miner will pay the electricity bill. It is already unprofitable to sell immediately, the profit has fallen.
