1261  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which mining is good to start? on: June 10, 2023, 11:59:15 AM
A miner usually decides to mine by considering several aspects before starting mining, such as safety considerations, health considerations, environmental impact, legal complications, etc. Since you don't have any financial complications, you can set up your mining project far away from residential areas. And above all the security aspects of mining should be prioritized. You should start mining after fully following all the mining restrictions. Most mining projects usually don't get permission from the government so it's better for you if you can start mining after getting permission from the government.
Mining requires a lot of electricity and if you do not have green electricity, then your mining will be banned or not allowed. You can mine like in Russia, buying a private house inexpensively in the village and using 5-10 kilowatts for mining, but you need to be prepared for the problems and checks of power engineers. 5 years ago it was good, and the power engineers were not interested in consumption in my house if I pay my bills on time. Now mining is much more difficult to organize.

So here in the country where I am located, I did not pursue the plan to do Bitcoin mining. The problem here is that our kwh is very expensive in around 0.17$-0.2$ then he is open 24hrs. So it turns out that this is no longer practical if I continue, it seems that what will happen is that I will just waste money and the worst is that I will subscribe too much.

So it's a good thing I followed the advice of one of the members here on the forum and I realized that he was right so I didn't continue it was more practical to just buy Bitcoin and hold it compared to mining Bitcoin here.
It has already been said 100 times that at such electricity prices it is unprofitable to participate in mining, because you will receive a huge electricity bill and sell all your coins. If bitcoin is again worth more than $50,000, then you will make a profit. But the number of miners will also grow.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW Specification LEAKS Jasminer X16-P (5535MH) on: June 10, 2023, 11:47:51 AM
Asic with characteristics 5500MH/s, 1900W in August against the well-known model on the market E9 Pro 3680MH/s, 2200W.
I think Bitmain will lower ASIC prices in August or release a new model for the Ethash algorithm at the end of the year. It's good that such ASICs did not appear during Ethereum's iining.
Feeling the Jasminer might make us age like fine wine before we see ROI, huh? 😄
ASICs for Ethash algorithms have several big problems. There are no good coins on this algorithm, and if the ethereum classic dies, then the asics will be useless. Bitmain will gladly trip up its competitors. I would buy asics for bitcoin or litecoin mining.
1263  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The cost of mining bitcoin from large miners on: June 09, 2023, 02:34:48 PM
In the second quarter of 2023, the cost of mining may be even lower due to large commissions thanks to new tokens. Companies are willing to invest in mining, but they risk higher mining taxes or being banned. In every country, the laws change as soon as many miners arrive there.

1267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 09, 2023, 01:42:45 PM
Ethereum developers agreed Thursday on the full scope of the network's upcoming upgrade, called “Dencun.”
The upgrade, also known as a hard fork, expected later this year, includes five Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) that designed to add more storage for data and reduce fees.
At the heart of this upgrade is EIP-4844, more commonly known as proto-danksharding. This feature will scale the blockchain by making more space for “blobs” of data, which then is expected to decrease gas fees for layer 2 rollups.
The other EIPs that made the cut are:
EIP-1153 - to reduce fees for storing data on-chain, and therefore improve blockspace.
EIP-4788 - to improve designs for bridges and staking pools.
EIP-5656 - to add minor code changes related to the Ethereum Virtual Machine.
EIP-6780 - to get rid of code that could terminate smart contracts.

Do not write about your defi projects in mining. Staking coins is also not related to mining.
If your coin cannot be mined, or it is a token in the blockchain, then write a subject in Tokens (Altcoins). Your ordinals tokens cannot be earned through mining.

Well it was in Altcoin ANN but either OP moved it or a mod moved it. Kind of hard to say what section it should be in. I don't think any part of Alternate cryptocurrencies is appropriate since its all on Bitcoin.
brc-20 is the standard for tokens, and it doesn't matter on which blockchain this token is used.
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: June 08, 2023, 05:58:52 PM

The price in Russia of the RTX 3080 video card is 46,099 rubles or $550. This is despite the fact that the recommended price is $700 and there are sanctions in the country. In stores, prices for new video cards are cheaper than in markets where they sell used video cards. But gamers prefer to pay $50-$100 extra and buy an RTX 4070.
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tutorial Mining on Unmineable Mining Pool - Ways of mining Token / Coin on: June 08, 2023, 04:28:19 PM
ethash algorithm is not profitable for mining on your video card, because you will pay more for electricity than you earn. Even if you have a laptop at work and you do not pay for electricity, then this is not profitable. BNB has a POS algorithm, and even if you get a reward in BNB coins for mining, then you made a mistake with mining on a laptop.

I do really agree with you, so It should be better mining with FiroPow or KawPow, it is more profitable than using ethash.

KawPow algorithm is very hot. Graphics cards consume a lot of electricity and in the summer they need additional cooling. But even if it was winter now, the profit is very small on video cards. Interest in mining instructions usually occurs during the mining season, not now.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: TUTORIAL - How Mine Pepe Pow Coins $PEPEW on GPU on: June 08, 2023, 04:23:43 PM
Ok Guys, Here I will show you the shortcut how to Mine Pepe Pow Coins on GPU, and I'm using Gtx 1660 Ti Mobile.

How much do you earn per day? Do you pay for electricity yourself?
Why are you torturing your laptop for 5 cents of profit per day?

Open the first link with a large pool and you will find a good instruction with ready-made bat file settings.

I'm not really mining this coin, because I aware of overheat on my laptop.
But, one of bitcointalk.org member already try to mine it, He is using RTX 3060 and get 31 MH/s, and comsume 100W of Electricity Power ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5455593.msg62369828#msg62369828 )

Fyi : $PepeW has been listed on Txbit Market, and we can check here : https://txbit.io/Trade/PEPEW/USDT

PEPE has been a good coin to mine for a few days. Today, the NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card will earn 7 cents a day at 6 cents per kilowatt. If the video card is in the computer, then mining will not bring profit, and this will be useless work of the PC. It's good that PEPE is traded on exchanges, but it's bad that mining the coin is unprofitable.

1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which are profitable coins to mine? on: June 08, 2023, 04:07:48 PM
Thank you for all the info's. Hopefully soon there will be something new.
Don't rely on it too much. On many coins, asics kick video cards out of mining, and new coins are not needed, because many more old projects are useless.
New coins may appear, but the profit on video cards will be there for a week or less. If you have old video cards, then consider selling.
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why did yall ever start using closed source miners? FRFR on: June 07, 2023, 09:02:50 PM
lolminer is a signed windows application for example, so this is trustable, but also a risk for lolliedieb.

It would not make sense to create a fast open source miner, other one will take this code and make his own miner with a devfee, this is how the world works, sadly for sure.
And in my case, i have no problem to pay a devfee for all the work, but some miner devs take a very high devfee for some algos. I mean all over 2% is too much in my opinion.

But i agree with you, community projects are not seen anymore.

Any free miner will always be weaker than a miner with a fee and closed source. If two miners have the same result, then the miners will choose a free miner.
And now you should not even run a proven miner on the main computer for safety. For this, there are good operating systems for mining or separate mining farms.

I think it is the developers who ask a fee for their product and there is nothing wrong with that.Usually they run a batch script in Windows and a script in Linux where we can see all the configuration and the well known software makers make really good miners, the fact that we pay 0.5 to 2% is the least of concern for me if the miner proves its stability.

The best thing to do as noted is to keep the wallets if you don't use hardware wallets, keep those desktop wallets in a separate PC which is only made and created to hold your coins.Of course if a free miner offers the same performance as a "paid" miner I would still choose to get the support of the guys who consistently look after their product and solve arising problems (Claymore is an isolated case).
If we talk about support, then I don’t remember the cases when I needed support after I stopped mining on Windows. Basically, the problems were not with the miner, but with Windows crashes Smiley and I had to read miner forums. With hive OS and other systems, there are fewer problems.

1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU Mining altcoins on: June 07, 2023, 08:44:10 PM
If you want to mine on CPU, buy Ryzen 2000, 3000 & 5000 series from the second hand market.
3000 & 5000 series basically have same performance for most mining algorithms. Ryzen 1000 just might work if you get them for free as I see people offloading them for real cheap these days. But power consumption might not be optimal for the performance.

They are usually cheap enough for it to be "manageable" if you are adventurous to take a potential no win scenario but just break even.
Don't buy the newest stuff because you will never get back the investment in time.

I don't do this myself but looked into it briefly at times. It's never profitable to put in as a investment but if you have a large cache of used parts it could be done as a side hobby.

If you are upgrading your main PC just for the latest & greatest, your old PC's could be used for this unless you want to hand it over to someone else to be sold or such as parts.
Used parts market have a large supply of potential cheap processors to be used these days with decent performance per unit to be much better than buying the newest generation.

Though GPU mining is much easier to setup & get a return faster.
The payback of such a computer in mining is very doubtful, most likely never. Have you studied processor prices now? The Ryzen 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 series processors do not have motherboards for multi-processor installation, so for each processor you have a lot of additional costs for components and additional power consumption when mining.

Exactly. You can only profit if you have already build computers with such processors that for example like I have permission to use work PC-s to do whatever I like as long as I get the job done, you may have also permission of doing so and this means you are mining free of cost and you can try any CPU coins,I have gone with Raptoreum and this is a gamble I am more than willing to make as if this coin hits its previous all time high of almost 0.09 I would be a very happy man and I would be a super happy man if it reaches a new all time high in the next bull run.
What do you do at work if your work computers are busy mining? Smiley
I would probably pay my employee an extra $30 a month so that he does not do extraneous business on working PCs, which after mining will need more frequent cleaning and replacement of thermal paste and of course a good cooling system.
1277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have you ever tried to repair a broken ASIC miner yourself? on: June 07, 2023, 08:35:44 PM
An interesting idea for monetization, but I think that if a miner has no experience in repairing ASICs, he does not have a professional soldering station and has not changed chips before, then it is cheaper for him to contact the workshop. I have extensive experience in repairing various IT equipment, and I understand that information about repairs will only harm an inexperienced person. After an unqualified repair, the cost of repair increases greatly or a new board is required.

Someone of you knows a coins which is profitable to mine with a gpu or  with gpus? Something new, something like Ethereum was years ago.
Miners have been waiting for the new Ethereum for a long time, but for now, you can see the list of coins in this calculator.
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus
There is nothing to mine now, the payback period for the equipment is long. And many coins are more profitable to buy than to mine.
