We could also just make a devfee miner. If you'd prefer that...well, the community decides.

I was about to ask about that! If we don't try what you offer, it'd be very hard for you to get new customers. Maybe if you already have some connections then those might choose to trust what you sell, but new customers would prefer a DevFee, at least as an alternative option.

Why is cryptopia wallet on maintenance again?

Haven't the slightest idea. CoinInfo states they're restarting the server though it's been about 10 hours now. I've got multiple messages/emails into them in an attempt to figure out what's going on.

Gotta restart the server!

How can Ark fail if they're working together with the French government? It's so undervalued right now that my eyes bleed everytime I open coinmarketcap and I see Ark between 50th and 60th position and garbage like Verge on top 20

Ark will have it's time when everything will be released (Ark core v2, ARKVM..). Smiley The team is working hard! Respect!

Yes, it's currently undervalued and that means that you can buy on a good discount.Ark will be in a year or two in TOP 10.
Yes, it's really Ark like does not look at all in bittrex. The volume does not go up even though altcoin sessions have begun.
Indeed Ark one of the most coins is supported by many exchanges but its volume does not reflect it.

We expect significant movement in the exchange.

Give the marketing guy some time, he's still new to the team! ^^

The most important thing you learned is to not buy ark anymore at Cryptopia Grin, there are bittrex and binance that work properly and just like I already said, in the near future we won't need exchanges anymore we will just use an ACES service. I have hopes also for blockport exchange (wich will be hybrid decentralized thanks to ark's tech)

What does ACES acronym stand for? It sounds spooky!! (probably because 3 our of 4 letters are the same with ASIC)

Also about blockport, if anyone hasn't done so already you can opt-in for beta testing of their platform. You can do so here https://blockport.io/beta
1945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: April 12, 2018, 09:16:30 PM
is there any way I can add another miner to NEMOS?

You can always post a request with an explanation of why you want the miner.
I correctly understand that I myself can not insert any miner?
You can... but it's a bit complicated. Actually you can do anything since it's open source as long as you know how.

I don't have time right now to write a full guide but I'll give you an idea of how to do it,
1) Go to the folder \Miners
2) Copy paste one miner (preferably a similar one)
3) Read all the parameters of the file you opened and make any changes as required, depending on the miner you want to load
4) (Optional) Download the miner and put the files in the \Bin folder, but even if you don't, as long as you've inserted the correct download link in step 3 it will be auto-downloaded.

If you need more help, I'll check the forums tomorrow again so just ask.

Noob help!

Whats the best algo for cpu mining? I'm using m7m algo, but i need a backup when m7m is down...

Thanks

I'm mining cryptonight and specifically ETN. To give you an idea, my 1070ti gives me 1495 H/s and my i5 8600k gives me 350 H/s. Both are overclocked but the GPU is also undervolted. I hope that gives you a idea... HOWEVER there's no Cryptonight algo offered by the pool!

PS: I'm not actually using an Nvidia card for cryptonight, I'm just saying!

You should care.  It's not going to the moon as long as the miners are still forking it and dumping the price.  Back when there were only 100 masternodes and the ROI was super high, there were plenty of new MN buyers to offset the constant dumping from miners.  Now with over 800 MN's on the wire, and terrible ROI, there aren't enough buyers to counter-balance the dumping.  Then each time the miners fork this coin, the price dumps even more.  It's in the death spiral.  One more un-intended fork and long repair and recovery process, and this coin will be trading for less than 100 Satoshis.

On the other hand, if they switched to POS things would be different.  People would be encouraged and incentivized to buy more coins on the exchanges and to hold them.  There would be no more miners dumping, and the price would rise.

It's real simple.  The price is set on the exchanges.  Miner's only interaction with exchanges is to dump.  They pay for their coins through hardware vendors and electric companies.  They don't support the price, they depress the price.  POS and MN owners on the other hand, first BUY coins on the exchange and drive prices up.  There is a big difference between these two.   Then you add in the unintended forks and it's a no-brainer.  One group supports the price, while the other dumps it and forks the chain.

The real supporters have been the long term investors and MN owners.   Miners just mine and dump whatever coin they can make the most profit on at the moment without a care for what damage is done.  It's unfortunate to see the dev's inability to see and understand these factors.

Now is a perfect opportunity to do what is right for the long term success of this coin,  or pander to the miners and ignore the effects.

The Monero fork went pretty well I'd say, why wouldn't Bulwark follow the same path? Also, if Bulwark is the first coin in the NIST5 family (I don't know any other coin though) to change the algo successfully, then that'll make it more popular. People will talk about it and start researching it and surely some of them investing in it. So that's what I believe would be the best course of action, forking the algo and keeping it ASIC-resistant.

The merit system is almost 4 months old, have you seen anyone with 166 merits? I doubt there's even A SINGLE ONE.

The system started on the 24th January so it is less than 3 months old.

This guy has 109 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1554927
This guy has 717 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=976210

I started with 250 and now have 532

There's many more if you look around.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topusersat

Edit:
I just stumbled on a Full Member with 290. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=182284
By finding his thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3301314.msg34467837#msg34467837

And you have one more merit from me for getting into all this trouble to find people who had success with this system! lol
The second guy though is registered from a year ago and the last one is registered since 2013, so ofcourse they had free merits and that's why they stand high on points. Nevertheless, you beat my argument that there's probably not even one member who's close to the speed at which members used to obtain ranks before.

For the record, I still believe it's an unfair system and it could become better if the thresholds were lowered, but that's my opinion so call me spoiled and ignore me (Not addressing a specific member)! Grin
1949  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 12, 2018, 12:15:27 PM
Do you have older siblings? is it unfair when he is in high school with bad grades and got higher allowance (say 100usd a month, just example) and you only have half of it while you are a middle schooler with good grade just because he was born years earlier before you?

And once again, signature campaign is not a reward. This forum doesnt have any obligation to reward you in any way. It is a privilige and people earn it, it is not given. Previous system made it easier to earn it, now you have to play by the rules of merit to earn that privilege.

I don't have any siblings to be honest but this whole conversation has gone off trails with examples of how unfair the whole world is!

Just because "A" is unfair, it doesn't mean we should stop thinking of ways to make "B" more fair. We're in a forum that's all about a new technology and moving the world forward after all!
But okay I get it, a lot of you seem to agree that it's the better of two evils, it's a bit unfair but it's better than not having it at all. I believe that having this system with a different implementation that wouldn't create such huge gaps would be better.

For example, a 1 year old member can have 500 more merits than a member registered today. For this system to be called 100% fair in my simple mind, the new member should be able to get 500 merits in one year if he's as much active as the other members with 500 merits were in average and with quality posting. Am I mistaken about the amount of merits 1 year old active members have? I'm not sure but I believe I'm right. The merit system is almost 4 months old, have you seen anyone with 166 merits? I doubt there's even A SINGLE ONE.

So no, I'm not bitter because it's a bit unfair, I'm bitter because it's very unfair, I'm in the wrong side and it'd be easy to be done better but they're not updating the system.

When will we be able to withdraw from Cryptopia??? :/

best to ask them

Mine was stuck there too. I don't think cryptopia will solve the problem any time soon. "Support" here is horrible.

I'd suggest selling your Ark for btc, move it to another exchange and buy back the ark. You might lose a bit, but it's better than having your ark taken hostage by an exchange...

I did the math, selling it in Cryptopia and buying again from Bittrex, and I lose about 9% without counting the transaction fees. I could go this path: ARK > BTC > LTC (low tx fee) > BTC > ARK and I'd lose about 10% of my current holding... I don't think it's worth it. I'll keep spamming Cryptopia... I was waiting patiently over a month, that's too much of a good faith from my part.

LUCKY !!! I managed to ride today's waves and by doing ARK>BTC>LTC>BTC>ARK I managed to get 51.43 ARK from Cryptopia to 49.87 ARK in Bittrex (and now to my wallet). That's only a 3% loss so I'm fine with it, I would be losing 1% every month anyway because of no voting stake.

4. People who feel the unfairness of having limitations because you were a reader with no account for 6 months and an active member for 5 months, yet spammers who made accounts earlier and people who buy merits seem to be above us and can freely farm signature campaigns.

PS: Was that too specific to my situation? Grin

So you feel unfairness because you arrived too late?

Hmm... not exactly... the problem is that a lot of people I've noticed are less active than me, more spammy and aggressive in their posts... yet they have 500+ more merits than me. The only reason for that is because they joined a few months ago.
I created an account here when I was experienced enough to have something to post but if I had created an account earlier spamming "moon moon" here and there I'd have higher rank and I'd be rewarded with sig campaigns. Isn't this unfair?

They should at least start everyone from the same level. Older members should have sMerit to give but not tons of merit.

It's stupid really. The merit system does not take away the need for newbies to create post quantity. It only adds a presumed post quality. So you now get newbies posting for quantity on the one side and posting for quality on the other. The same type of low quality posting is still going on. The merit system didn't solve anything. I only made a few Legendary members happy because they see stake competition obstructed.

Well not only legendary member, i am happy too because all the cheaters in sig or bounty (even though i did not join bounty) slowed down to reach higher rank. This system is suitable for people who only focus to one account now, unless they already have a lot of high rank account before, but even though they have a lot of it, i think there will be many adjustment in sig or bounty requirement in the future regarding merit, like, minimal merit required to join sig or bounty, not only ranks. They will be forced to up their game too, or if they cheat, it will be easily spotted.

Usually people who whines a lot are :
1. Dont believe in theirself they can get merit.
2. People who are new and want to farm account.
3. People who just want easy money from sig and bounty even though the job is already an easy one (come on, posting is not a hard task, please)

4. People who feel the unfairness of having limitations because you were a reader with no account for 6 months and an active member for 5 months, yet spammers who made accounts earlier and people who buy merits seem to be above us and can freely farm signature campaigns.

Source: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin/trading_exchanges#panel

I'm generally not in a hurry to buy/invest in new stuff and I do a lot of research first.

Except maybe one time... I had cashed a lot of gains from the US stock market a week ago and the mining profits were filling my savings account, so I didn't though about it much before buying into an ICO with 100€ in 500 XRP (a month later, that was equal 1500€ though).

The only "research" I did was on this project, XENIO, was to visit their site, watch their video and check the team's LinkedIn profiles, I even found a dev from my country and contacted him... the project seemed legit but even so it didn't deliver.
I wouldn't mind if it was 100€, but because it was a 500 XRP investement I did my best to get the money refunded, and thankfuly they were refunded! So I guess in the end I didn't get scammed, I believe their team sincerely tried to achieve their goal but failed.

Still... same leason learned as if I would be scammed: "Don't skip the step of a deep research before investing and don't get greedy" ... I wouldn't call myself greedy but still, researching everything before investing is time consuming and easier said than done.

I've recently bought some ETN from Kucoin and withdrawn them to my mobile wallet, but seems like even after more than 12 hours, there're no confirmations and it's not getting processed:

https://blockexplorer.electroneum.com/tx/949ed435a55df58e2586f1657e5fecc9da62ebb43e9d9bbdef82319c896ce0f8

Is this usual thing with Electroneum? Roll Eyes

I'll quote the announcement of a pool I'm using,
"Electroneum network is is being flooded with <1 ETN transactions.
As ETN network's pending transaction count exceeded 5000 and new transactions are not confirmed, pool disabled payouts temporarily. "

The "transactions are not confirmed" though is an outdated statement, I've received payments just fine the last hours. I'm not checking my wallet every hour but on a daily basis and personally I didn't notice anything weird, but it seems someone tried a DDOS kind of attack or for whatever reason a lot of transactions caused delays.
