1301  Economy / Reputation / Re: thenextking - Merit Sharing With Alt Accounts on: September 25, 2018, 11:37:20 AM
Good catch, OP, but this belongs in reputation.
Thanks for pointing out! Believe me, I searched for the right forum to post this but I never thought that under the "Economy>Trading" section there would be a reputation one!
Hopefully a kind moderator would move it there then! Smiley
1302  Other / Meta / Re: A formula for determining Worthiness of Poster (WoP) on: September 25, 2018, 11:34:57 AM
That kind of score system would also discourage people from spamming, since the most posts you have the lower your score gets! That sounds a fantastic formula nutildah! I hope it gets the attention it deserves and hopefully be implemented after a few tweaks.

As already mentioned, I also agree that counting the free merits is not fair, however if counting only the earned merits that'd create the opposite issue. The merit system was introduced on January, so people had about 9 months to earn merits. On the other hand the forums are operating for many years now, therefore some old members have thousands of posts and relative fewer merits, reducing their score because of that is also not fair.

I don't know if it's possible, but the best solution I could think of is if the score could take into consideration the postcount/activity/merit earned of the last 12 months.
1303  Economy / Reputation / thenextking - Merit Sharing With Alt Accounts / Possible Negative Trust Evading on: September 25, 2018, 11:05:26 AM
I just noticed a person with 62 merits and Jr. Member rank and I instantly noticed something is wrong!

Taking a deeper look it's obvious that this account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=176810) created this account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1208438) because the 1st one got a lot of negative trust. He/she then spent all the free sMerit to the new account.

As far as I was able to research, there isn't an official rule they're breaking, they're not ban-evading but instead negative-trust-evading. Also having multiple accounts and sharing the merit among yourself... that doesn't seem right but again I didn't find any rule in the merit announcement.

In any case, the purpose of this topic is to bring the matter in the attention of people with more knowledge than me regarding what is accepted and what is not and also with more power than me (aka DT users) to judge the person in question.

I'd also be glad to know if there is an official rule on the matter and I missed it.

Is something stuck with the network guys? It looks like the last block was forged 11 hours ago.

Update: Okay nvm, it seems that explorer.ark.io was stuck for hours. It now updated while I was looking around.

And what are the plans to enter the stock exchanges?

XDNA is not a public company to be traded in the stock exchanges! Cheesy
But I know what you meant. For now XDNA is traded in two big exchanges: Cryptopia and Crypto-Bridge. It was also voted by the community to be listed in an upcoming and promising exchange, SonoX (https://sonox.io/vote) where we took position 9 with 9063 votes.

Being listed in more exchanges is almost a never-ending purpose as more new exchanges are being created, but for the very near future XDNA can be traded in those two main exchanges. For the not-so-near future there will be announcements whenever something is set in stone.

You are very active in this topic. Maybe you really go to work in technical support for this project?  Wink

As another example of the XDNA's team habit to hear the voice of the community, I was indeed invited to be the Community Manager for these forums! Well... you asked for it! Cheesy
It'll be my pleasure to assist you all, old and new members, the best I can; answering questions and updating this thread with news.

This is from one commentator... "As long as Jed McCaleb is selling into rallies it's hard to keep forward momentum.  Anyone know how many xrp this guy has left?  The majority of selling is this guy, his family and charity organizations he gave his tokens to..."

Goooood! Keep them coming!

I am checking their roadmap weekly and the ARK CORE v2 completition percentage is maybe too slow for having it fully completed in the 2018? The team expects it to be completed though until the end of the year, so I guess with new additions it is possible.

This completion percentage bar is like some old Windows installers which would stuck at 10% and then suddenly travel to 100%  Cheesy

He probably wanted to say that you should not be afraid of such giants as Dash. In the world, everything is not stable. Today Dash is the leader among the coins with the masternodes. Tomorrow they can become an outsider. And XDNA to become a leader!

Exactly. Take for example Ethereum. Until a few days ago it was a giant, then a few missteps caused it to tumble in a very short term. At the same time some good news from XRP boosted it ahaid of Ethereum in market cap., though now they have returned to the previous positions but with close gap.

It's very possible that many Ethereum investors turned to XRP because the timing of Ethereum's mishaps and Ripple's announcements came in a great timing.

My point is this: Just because today Dash is ahaid of XDNA today it doesn't mean there's no room for a competitor. One bug in Dash's code, a drama between the dev team, a successful hack that is not taken care of early... anything like that can drop any coin a lot of positions, making investors to transfer their funds in the competition.

Personally though I believe XDNA is not a competitor of Dash, they have more differences than common points... See my post 3 or 4 page ago.
1311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining performance of Nvidia RTX 2080 Series on: September 24, 2018, 01:50:33 PM
Thank you Luke.

Too bad the Lyra2REv2 will be ASIC mined now...
From another benchmark, I noticed that the HEX algo (XDNA coin) using the Enemy miner 1.20 (newer version is 1.21) offered a big boost with the 2080ti over the 1080ti, you might want to try this algo too.
As for the Ethash, which miner did you use? Claymore or something else?
1312  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: September 24, 2018, 10:45:54 AM
1 merit is fine for Junior. A small ask for the reward of moving up a rank, but it's not sufficient to get a signature and start earning here. We should try ten merit and becoming a Member before you get a sign and see how that goes. I think it would help enormously, but we could keep upping the requirement over time if it's not helping much. I'd really like to see how many users could get 100 merit before they can start earning here though. That would really sort the wheat from the chaff and the shitposters from the great posters. Only those who have contributed something significant here would be able to earn then and the forum would be a much better place for it.

Almost at 100 merit here! Grin It's possible that I'll be able to hit 100 after exactly one year, starting from 0.

I was never a shitposter but I remember that when I first found out about the Merit system (I was a newbie when it was introduced) for the first few months I was thinking how I'd make my posts better to earn merits. Later on I stopped thinking about the merits and just posted whenever I had some free time to surf the forums, but the principals had stayed... that way of posting got me merits slowly but thanks to the last changes I feel the speed of earning is higher.

My advice to legit members is to focus on threads with subjects they are familiar with and do their best to give constructive and clear answers to people who ask questions there.

After an average update-frequency of one blog per day, the team seems to have finally take a break from updates!
I'm sure they haven't taken a break from working though.

The technical support is active in the Discord, just go to the right channel and ping them with "@Masternode support". From my personal experience though, might just need to run the "xdnad -listen=0", try it, it doesn't do any harm.
It seems to me that your advice has helped me. My masternoda works steadily for more than half an hour.
Once again I want to thank you and say that changing the value "listen=0" helped. My masternode worked well all day long!
That's good to hear! Maybe I should apply for a spot in the Masternode Support team after all! Grin I even learnt some Linux tricks while setting up my MN!

I read that XDNA is connected with charity.
Charity is good. But you need something else. What can bring profit and attract the attention of investors.
Charity is not a bad way to attract investors, people see that the team gives their money to the poor and children. This is just the best advertising for me.
And it's more than just advertising. People who want to donate in a cause could use XDNA Foundation. As the Whitepaper explains, the donator will have to buy XDNA and deposit them in the cause of their choice. The funds are then saved in a paper wallet and are sent to the cause for which they've been gathered. At that point the receiver will probably choose to cash out on fiat but they might as well keep some funds for... HODLing... The whole procedure is natively transparent since it's in the blockchain, unlike the usual donations where someone offers some money and they hope those will be used right.

As for other uses, I don't remember any official statement, but it always was about services and shops trusting a coin. Any coin can always be used for purchases as long as a seller wants to accept it, so network stability, good reputation and user acceptance are usually the first steps.
I've seen countless coins promising instant purchases in many many shops after a few months of launch, they run an ICO, grab the investments and disappear.
My point is... I don't know the team's plans, but since this matter is not in their hands it doesn't matter much.
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: September 23, 2018, 12:06:24 PM
^^ You are talking as a young miner and it is ok. But as for me - I can mine Bitcoin Interest, sell it and buy 2x of your coins everyday. And hold it. Or not.

Not a young miner, but a hobbist miner! I just had one PC with 3 GPUs, now it only has 1 1080ti and I'm waiting for a 2080ti too. I mainly game with it and mine on the side so I'm mining slowly, I cannot accumulate enough coins to sell in a short period so I cannot trust calculators.

I suppose it was my omission to not mention that, as people with enough hashpower wouldn't mind mining a different coin every day... unlike me!
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New merit give away thread. For alt coin mining. on: September 23, 2018, 12:01:53 PM
Hello! I've been looking around the forums for a merit-giveaway thread and I happened to get here, the last posts seem to be a bit old though, do you still run this?

Anyway, regarding alt-coin mining, if all you need is one post then my latest one which I still remember where to find (lol) is this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1940567.msg45976198#msg45976198

PS: The reason I've been looking for a merit-giveaway thread was because I'm kinda close to ranking up... maybe you know the feeling when playing an MMORPG and you're so close to hit max level after many months, so you pull an all-nighter to reach it! Maybe you don't... nevermind!
1319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: September 23, 2018, 11:43:51 AM
Raven needs more than just Asic proof algo to rise. The crypto projects have advanced a lot with new ideas and approaches. The competition is strong

Like the "Ourcoin" for example? What new idea does this offer and you started an ICO for that? It's more likely for RVN to be implemented by stores than a new project with an unknown team.

very good news on the development of the project
it can be seen that the project is developing, is not in place

Translation of the second sentence please? Cheesy
