Some context please! Huh
Is that the new announcement thread? Shall we follow that thread for updates from now on? It's missing the [ANN] tag to be clear.
1322  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: September 23, 2018, 11:31:08 AM
Of course, we all need real data to go to conclusion, but this one is what I imagine on short-term effects of new rank requirements.

Here, real data by the data-master DdmrDdmr!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034149.0

More merits started to be given out thanks to new Merit Sources, as an example I got 30 merits just in September! 20 or 18 of them was after more merit sources were added, so at least this change seems to have helped to put some fuel on the engine! Previous data provided by DdmrDdmr showed that giving merit had slowed down dramatically.

The other change which you mentioned (Jr. Members needing 1 merit) was probably too low of an entry point and if you think of how many newbies started to beg (in a spam-y way) I'm not sure there was a big change, still it was on the right track I believe.

Are there any important news and updates for XDNA coin ?

I have not checked XDNA Bitcointalk for some time...

I'd say three important things happened the last week,
1) The XDNA Foundation (the charity organization of the XDNA project) helped pay the bill for the treatment of a newborn baby in Thailand (https://twitter.com/XDNA_Official/status/1042397528812077056)
2) The community was asked to choose between two paths for the XNDA blockchain's reward rules. The 2nd variant was overwhelmingly voted, read about the two variants in this post,
-click the quote's link-
3) As EvoNodes announced in their own tweeter, "XDNA stomped the competition" in a listing voting and they now support XDNA in their shared masternode services. (https://twitter.com/EvoNodesDotCom/status/1043216380131139584)

Changing subject...

Tell me where the error is in the masternodes settings, if after some time the node switches to standby mode?

The technical support is active in the Discord, just go to the right channel and ping them with "@Masternode support". From my personal experience though, might just need to run the "xdnad -listen=0", try it, it doesn't do any harm.

Ripple longs got Rekt

Damn! We got rekt'ed! Shocked

To be honest though, I expect a bigger fall to follow because of many ripple-haters, most of whom lack the power to think for themselves.
To repeat my lost-in-the-last-page post,
I'll make a guess at this point...

XRP will move sideways while victims of the FUD which is spread sell their coins and new people will start pilling up coins while XRP is on a correction.
This period will last a week to a month and then within October it'll keep moving up... how high however I can't tell.

My advice: Do NOT try to trade it while it moves sideways, just hold if you believe in XRP or if you don't believe then sell your coins and go buy ETH, BCH or whatever.

It's strange that yesterday's micro-pamp did not affect the price of XDNA. She did not grow up and fell.

It's a problem of how known XDNA is. Most affected coins were the top 50 ones and as you move to the top 100 you see more and more coins trading sideways.
XDNA is number 831 so that was to be expected Undecided
1326  Other / Meta / Re: Should new members be allowed to post URLs? on: September 22, 2018, 06:37:19 AM
Many forums do that but I don't think it'll help solve anything.

Those who want to post a URL can do it in another way so as to not be detected: www. google .com
1327  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit participants – A quick follow-up after the changes – Good so far on: September 22, 2018, 06:31:20 AM
Interesting graphs as always.

What I understand from these though is the overwhelming amount of the total merits given, went to newbies and Jr. Members.
Didn't that cancel the whole purpose of locking newbies out of signatures? I'm sure 1 merit was too easy to get through buying it or spamming until someone who wouldn't realize a post was made from a spammer would give 1 merit.

As for the stats... I suppose if a Newbie is awarded a 2points merit by one person then 1 point will show up in the graph as given to a newbie and 1 point toba Jr. M.
1328  Other / Meta / Re: New marit system on: September 22, 2018, 06:16:28 AM
You could write all that in the already existing merit thread but... I'm just curious... Are you Japanese? I can't think of anyone else adding "sir" AFTER someone's name.... Saddam83-kun

I like your thread but hate to see such aggorant higher ranks like your images shown.
However, I support the ideas of Theymos to require at least 1 merit to become a Junior member.
Furthermore, restricting ability to wear signature to only Junior rank and above is amazing, which is much helpful to stop spammers walking around the forum and showing their shits to earn money thinking they'll earn money.

I fixed your last sentence!  Wink
Managers who were accepting newbies either wouldn't ever pay or they'd pay in a 0-value altcoin. Probably the same is true for Jr. Members too.

XRP always makes crazy moves when positive news comes out.. how long it will last until, i don't know. Hope we all are able to make good trades in the meantime. Grin Grin Grin

The exact opposite from what I advised huh? Well, good luck with trading it! Roll Eyes
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining performance of Nvidia RTX 2080 Series on: September 22, 2018, 05:44:52 AM
Just did a livestream last night

Here is the recap with a pair of RTX 2080 OC's in 5min

https://youtu.be/i7tlNwl0FoQ

Thanks for the video.
You also look included XDNA and I'm impressed that the 2080 was faster than the 1080ti prior to OC and with obviously not an optimized miner! I wanted to see the XDNA's results after you've overclock the card though... but +1000 OC in the memory and it kept going steady?! That was impressive!

Oh, and the Enemy miner has been updated to 1.20.

've preordered the EVGA 2080ti FTW3 Ultra and I seem to have chose the right manufacturer!
1333  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 21, 2018, 08:56:06 PM
But yeah XRP is basically the definitive shitcoin. And its hard to say what role XRP played in the current altcoin rally, with BTC rallying at the same time.

Because they *all* got pumped. Like literally every single shitcoin. On zero news or improvements to any of them.

Which means they're role was simply to participate in a massive coordinated PnD scam. If they're all equally special, then that means none of them are.

I don't see any special rally in altcoins. On the last 24h BTC is up 6% and I see some serious altcoins at 10%-15% and some shitcoins at 5%-10%. Didn't the altcoin market follow BTC down in the first place?
Sure, most altcoins should stay down, but I'd expect a correction to happen after a day or two. Right now this rally seems like it's built to last and people are going FOMO mode on everything.. and personally, it's the first rally I call it's going to last.

Mining in recent months has become almost unprofitable. If you mine, then only on coins, such as XDNA.
Now mining is not something that is not profitable it works at a loss, it is a useless use of computing power and electricity.
Well, for those who had built many rigs it's a shame, hopefully next time they won't be as greedy.
In my case who had just 3 cards, mining with 2 and gaming with 1 and on night mining with all 3, I preferred to sell 2 of my cards when the coin prices fell (on July I think) and buy coins with the money I got.
The coin prices fell from that buy point, but since I bought mainly XRP and ARK, today I'm on almost a brake-even.

Now I use the 1080ti for mining XDNA on night when the electricity is cheaper and just hold. Also waiting for my 2080ti to arrive though I expect optimised miners to come in 3 to 6 months from now.
1336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 21, 2018, 06:59:13 PM

BTC position is shaken.
You are very delusional my friend. It seems that most buyers today didn't learn the lesson of this year xrp crash.  Several days pump followed by 9 months of dump nearly 99%. In what universe BTC is shaken by XRP?!? The truth is that he owners who a multi billionaires spend regularly a couple of billion $ to pump the price. Of course, they match the pumps with some fake (so far) promises that some unkown bank will buy some unknown quantity of xrp. It's time to get back to the ground people. This reminds me of POT and ZEC which were pumped to the moon and then... booom!

It's funny how how you call the rise and fall of XRP a pump and dump when BTC and all other coins had the same fate! Grin

Let's put the graphs on 1y...
XRP's price last September (week 38 2017): 0.15€
XRP's price this September (week 38 2018): 0.53€ it seems, let's round it at 0.50€

BTC price last September (week 38 2017): 3.171€
BTC price this September (week 38 2018): 5.728€

XRP is up 333.33% in 1 year
BTC is up 180,64% in 1 year

But I guess you didn't learn the lesson of this year's BTC crash!
1337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 21, 2018, 02:20:19 PM
Bye Bye Ethereum! Kiss
Brace yourself Bitcoin! Cool

I was buying XRP since last year's September, I've bought on 0.15€ , 0.20€ , 0.50€ and then it raised and I holded.
Then this year I bought while it was falling at 1.50€ , 1.00€ , 0.75€ and last week a few more at 0.25€

Right now I'm 34% over my average purchase price based on the Coinlib, so I guess my average price is about 0.33€! Good job me! Grin
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 21, 2018, 09:18:00 AM
Anyone can explain why XRP is growing up?
How can a centralized coin gains the third place in Crypto world and become so important?
Did we have any news about decentralizing that will applied On XRP in future? I can't find another reason for price growing.

Can you explain me why Ethereum is 2nd when all it's useful for is to support shitcoins and ponzi ICOs?
Or why BCH is still in the top 50 coins when no sane person trusts it?

XRP is not centralised and I'm tired of explaining why... but even if some aspects are more "centralised" than, say, Bitcoin, this is not a reason for a price to move up or down because real investors don't care that much about these aspects, only teenagers think that decentralisation will lead the humanity forward and the concept's believers will be given labos!

Sure, investors want to know who owns big amounts of a coin, but when the owner is a serious company which develops the infrastructure then this is reassuring.
An example: I'd never hold BCH because a huge amount is controlled by Bitmain, they are not blockchain developers and they only care about making profit, therefore I'm sure they'd empty their bags on my back.
Ripple's case: Most of the XRP coins are currently in the hands of Ripple Lab, but only few are in their control and the rest are locked up and released slowly (like mining). They're also the main developers and the marketing team. If they do great in both developing and marketing, they stand to win a lot from the price hike, but so will the investors.

TL;DR: Since there's no conflict of interests but instead investors and Ripple Lab have common interests, this kind of "centralisation" has helped to make XRP look as the most professional of the open-market blockchain-based coins and one of the safest bets for possible regulations.

So I have to ask again since it didnt seem to get any response last time.

Is there any potential to program the RTX Tracer Ray cores to be able to perform a similar functionality to the "Acorn" FPGA?

It seems the Acorn takes processes that would normally slow down the GPU, and computes them elsewhere.  Could the unused RTX cores be made to do similar?

ACORN Thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4391318.0

I'm not a mining software developer so I can't answer with 100% accuracy, but then again I don't think a mining s/w dev will bother answering in this thread anyway! Tongue

The Ray Tracing cores are more like an ASIC, by that I mean they are crafted to perform a certain faction very fast. Therefore they can't be programmed to support the GPU in anything else than Ray Tracing. The only possibility would be to make a hashing algorithm which supports the factions of these cores, but that's very unlikely... why would anyone do that?

The AI cores (aka Tensor cores) though might have some use. Those are also for a specific faction as well, I think it's called "4x4 matrix computation", but at least those computations have some general uses outside games and therefore they might somehow, somewhen be used in mining... maybe...
1340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: September 21, 2018, 08:29:07 AM
XDNA coin, HEX hashing algo which is free of ASICs and FPGAs. Tradable in Cryptopia and Crypto-Bridge.
It's usually on the top5 most profitable coins and it's also a lot cheaper than Raven, so holding it feels pretty safe... it doesn't have much room to the downside!
What reason to mine XDNA with 0.69$ per gtx 1080ti?
http://myha.sh/
Better take a few from the top.

1) Most of the "top" ones are not traded in any serious exchange, you're gonna lose big amounts of the proft through fees (probably some of the which fees are hidden).
2) The calculator thinks the hashrate of a 1080ti is 16.3 Mh/s while I find mine to be between 19-20.8 Mh/s at 80% power and +90 on core speed without an issue. Using Enemy-Miner 1.20
3) Other "top" coins change every day because they are coins that no one wants to hold, just like you many others mine them today and sell them tomorrow, so until you manage to sell in one of those low-volume exchanges you'll probably win much less than you're expecting. XDNA is traded in two decent exchanges as I mentioned in my 1st post and already has a few users (charity actions, Masternode investors, accepted as payment by the hosting service evolution-host.com)

My calculation shows 0.99$ / day minimum (before power cost), that's because,
1) I calculated with an average hashrate of 20 Mh/s (do your own benchmark on your own card)
2) 1% miner fee calculated, the pool xdna.suprnova.cc is offering their services with 0% fee (the pool's owner is also active in the XDNA's, so maybe he's an investor too and wants to support it)
3) The price had a pump on many good news and then bottomed on the current price. It's steady a long time now so the price you sell as a miner can be expected.
The above calculations are inputted here: https://whattomine.com/coins/266-xdna-hex?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=20&p=240.0&fee=1.0&cost=0.0&hcost=0.0&commit=Calculate

You might want to hold some of the mined coins though since the team is serious and working actively. There will also be a monthly reduction of the mined coins which usually increases the price of coins.
