yep bots are bad.
I think faucetbox faucets mite be something that will die off soon because of bots and not being able to make profit I think we are going to see more signup and register faucets is the best way to avoid and catch bots out before they take you money.
Or one could code/develop his own script or one could heavily modify the faucetinabox script.

I'm just wondering, do faucet owners "babysit" their faucets? Is it a constant watch and fight against bots/scammers?
Yes. It takes hours and hours each day.

Hoi allemaal, Newb alert.

Finally figured it out but I sure hope the script will be changed to include this in the future.
For a few days I noticed a high amount of payouts on my faucet from a specific ref address. Currently there are 700+ addresses related to this ref address. Each address has an auto payout of 0.5 bitcoin (via address checker). Obviously, I did ban the ref address but this only rejects ref payouts to that address. I did some private modding on the script so all sessions that include that ref address are no longer paying out. That is all that are processed with the /?r=ADDRESS url or even the addresses for which the ref address was registered.
I'm pretty new to the whole faucet concept and the FIB script. Not sure if the developer is reading this, if so, please include the above checks (optionally or not) in your next script version. If you know that a ref address is used by a scammer/bot then most likely addresses that are using the ref address are also from a scammer/bot.
Hope it all makes sense. If not then feel free to ask of course.
700 is a lot, but where to draw the line? Some faucets are listed on popular rotators/faucet lists. Where to draw the line between suspicious and real?

Forget about the .htaccess file: It can only hold a number of IP addresses (I think it was 250 max). But if you must insist: Make a "text.txt" in Notepad and rename it to ".htaccess". Upload it to the root. That's all you need to do.

freebitsplz.co it's not a dot com. I've put everything in correctly but it's still not going live You know it's hard work to run a faucet and it requires basic knowledge of webdevelopment, right?

I implemented faucet in a box, as a proof of concept test using faucet in a box. Initially, rewards were high for a few days and then i noticed a very high percentage of visitors weren't triggering analytics. Or using javascript, cookies, etc.
I reduced the reward to the minimum (1 satoshi). My analytics reports scanthebox referred 17 users today, no other referrals. Despite that I have all security features on, I'm still seeing 3-5 transactions per minute. Why can't you guys stop these bots?
FaucetBOX is a micro-wallet service.. Security and anti-bit protection should be done on your end. Edited to add: A lot of people think it's easy to set up and run a faucet. It's really really hard work.

Nope not working... Did everything you said.. After 50 captchas I get difficult ones, multiples, 9 click per captcha.

your browser is giving off the idea you are potentially a bot
Use a fresh install of chrome with no addons no adblock no anything OK clear all google cookies then log into google OK then go to the raiblocks site and try again OK do not use a proxy do not use tor OK
it wont accept captchas faster then ever 5 seconds it seems and I have to wait ever time 2 seconds in between solving them because I do it to fast. Here's the problem. Thanks for the tip!

just a piece of advice to OP, i myself have pretty good number of workers for MRAI faucet and i notice that large number of captcha solvers will only give us small amount of MRAI per captcha solved, so in my calculation, paying 1k satoshi per solved captcha wont give much profit
I am not trying to profit off people I just want to buy a large sum of Raiblocks. I think it is terrible what you ppl are doing paying out low amount for the raiblocks and then reselling them to ppl like me Have you guys done 100 captchas recently? Try it and see for yourself how long it takes. At least 30 mins. The first 20-50 wil go fast, but after that.... :/
