1941  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CryptoVest Physical Litecoins (Metal Alloy)- Now accepting 26 ALTs for payment. on: January 19, 2014, 05:04:44 PM
All orders were shipped as of last Friday. If you do not receive your coins in a week (domestic) or two weeks (international), then please email sales@cryptovest.com or PM me here. I apologize it took longer to get through the orders than I thought it would. I learned a valuable lesson- all coins will be assembled prior to going up for sale. That way we can minimize processing/shipping time.

Due to Fincen's interest in loaded Bitcoins, the 1000 loaded coins I was planning for the Zinodaur First Edition Series is not going to happen. Instead, the remaining coins will be sold as "Special First Edition" coins. They will have windows for the Firstbits of the coin on the holograms!! Due to my noobness in coin making- these coins will have a couple "errors". First of all, the window on the hologram is larger than the private key insert, so the coin's metal shows through the sides of the window. Secondly, the window is slightly higher than it should be so there will be a "bulge" on the coin... similar to the first Casascius and Lealana coin. The special edition holograms are in-hand and we are currently pre-assembling them before they go on sale. Sign up for our newsletter on our home page to be first to know when they are available to purchase- I expect it to be sometime early February.

Overstock accepting Bitcoin is huge.

I think the number of large retailers accepting Bitcoin will grow exponentially in 2014 and beyond!

I would be embarrassed that such a crap coin was named after me. I mean... they have freaking google ads on their coin's webpage..

You should pull a Kanye and lawyer up BCX.  Grin

1944  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Machines on: January 09, 2014, 03:47:26 AM
Don't buy Bitcoin ASICs, you won't get anywhere near the amount of BTC you would get by simply buying BTC. I've tried BFL, Avalon, Bitfury, KNC... ALL of them have not (and likely will not) break even. KNC/Bitfury is the lesser of the evil ASIC companies.. at least they shipped somewhat on time even though they shipped a half working product (KNC) and a very unstable product (Bitfury). Stay away from HashFast (2+ months late) and VMC (already late and not even close to shipping.. still in design stage) too... they are shady and possibly outright scams.

Don't get suckered in on a pre-order of mining hardware. If you are going to buy an ASIC, only buy one that is in stock and shipping with minimal delay.

Lee is a pretty generic last name.. it doesn't necessarily mean they are related.

You've got to be kidding me... no chips, no boards, no RTL code, no nothing...

I am so frustrated at this point, I am done defending VMC.  Angry

WTF has Ken been doing the past 9 months?

Anyone else want to chip in with me for a lawyer? I'm tired of being pushed around by these ASIC companies. Maybe we could all throw a little BTC to an address and all be represented by the same lawyer for the sake of convenience.

I only ordered one unit, but it's the principal of the matter. Simon said he would refund in full BTC amounts and he must honor his word. This is the first situation that I feel we actually have a case for full BTC refunds. That quote from Simon where he confirmed what Cypherdoc had said (all orders made in BTC will be refunded the full BTC amount) is the smoking gun IMO.

PS: I see people are sending in letters/faxes/etc. requesting full BTC refunds. What is the proper procedure/wording of such a document? Should I send something like this in as well?
1949  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CryptoVest Physical Litecoins (Metal Alloy)- Now accepting 26 ALTs for payment. on: January 01, 2014, 07:46:21 PM
Hi all,

First of all let me thank all of you for your business. Since November 22nd (when we launched the website), about 3000 coins have been ordered. This pace has far surpassed our expectations and I thank each and every one of our customers that have made this such a success!!

Current Orders:

With that being said, the volume of orders has created a back log of orders that need processing. We have shipped all orders up to order #1727. If your order number is lower than this, your coins are on their way. We are about a 1000 coins behind on orders that have been placed, and have not shipped orders yet from December 23rd to today. Since we've fallen so far behind, I have disabled ordering for the time being to allow us some time to catch up. I sincerely apologize about not being able to ship the coins faster. If you would like a refund because of the delay, feel free to email sales@cryptovest.com and I will oblige. Otherwise, we are hoping to have all orders that have been placed shipped by next Monday. Due to the increased order volume, we are a bit behind in emails/correspondence. Please bear with us, we are working on getting caught up on everything.

Future Orders:

We have decided to freeze orders for the time being, this will give us time to catch up (and hopefully get ahead) of the demand so we can ship in a more timely manner in the future.  The CryptoVest Zinodaur Physical Litecoin is almost sold out!!! The 3000 coins sold number mentioned earlier does not include coins sold in the original promotion and also coins that were sold separately from the website. Please do not contact us to reserve coins, we are no longer taking reservations. After fulfilling all out standing orders, inventory will be taken to determine the amount of coins left for sale. Another reason for freezing ordering for now is to make sure we don't sell more coins than what we have. Please sign up for our mailing list on the homepage of our website (https://www.cryptovest.com/ - just under the large picture of the Zinodaur Physical Litecoin.) By signing up for the mailing list, you will be the first to know when the last coins go up for sale, they will be sold on a first come first serve basis. We are contemplating setting up an auction and/or selling some coins via auction for the benefit of the Litecoin Development Team and/or The Litecoin Association. More details will come in the newsletter we'll be sending out later this month.

Future Coins:

More details will be coming later this month on our second physical Litecoin- expect a physical Bitcoin from us sometime this year as well. I am designing increased tamper resistant coins through the use of multiple tamper evident properties. More details will come later when the coins are available for sale. Due to the competitive nature of the business and a large up front cost of ordering coins and holograms, we are keeping the details secret for now! I think everyone will like what we've come up with to bring the tamper evident properties of our products up a few notches. In our opinion, the only coins that are currently available that could compare to the level of tamper evidency we are hoping to achieve would be Titan Mint's Physical Bitcoins. However, their coins have a huge flaw (again in our opinion) in that there needs to be a central authority to redeem their higher security coins. Our design does not require a central authority and anyone may redeem the coins just like they have in the past. Please sign up to our newsletter to be in the know when our new products are for sale so that you don't miss out!

Thanks again for your business. Happy holidays & have a great 2014!!

It seems HashFast is getting close to shipping. At least they have a working unit.. that's more than Cointerra/VMC/Black Arrow/etc. can say.

I take this as good news.

Sure, they are late... let's be honest, who here didn't expect them to be late? With such an ambitious timeline I figured they would slip on it.

At least Batch 1 purchases are covered by the miner protection plan thingy... I'm not really worried about it. I'm more worried about my VMC order.

Close to shipping what? They are in development, that's not close to anything. A mpp with completely unknown variables, a 500gh machine shipping a month after knc rocked the world with jupiters pushing 700?

Why did you order from vmc? They even said it was virtual. None of that looked possible. Black arrow has shipped before, and has a good priced unit a few months away, I think they are most likely to succeed next.

MY Jupiter only runs at 290 Gh. KNC did not rock my world... Mileage may vary.

If they have a hashing unit, they are likely closer to shipping than any of the companies I mentioned (which have not shown a working unit.)

Black Arrow made FPGAs base on ngzhang's design... they didn't design anything for that product, they simply had it assembled. Making an ASIC is a completely different animal.

I just hate how this is the first good news we've heard out of Hash Fast in a while and everyone is still being so negative.

Here is the one D&T linked too!
APC AP9571 1U Rackmount PDU 208V 24A

I've been using 3-4 of these for over a year with no problems... I purchased them used. They work great... I actually think it was from searching and seeing DT's recommendation that I ever bought one about a year ago. Smiley

It's definitely a good affordable PDU.

Don't mess with Bitcoin!  Grin

Ooh yeah, a ddos attack on a website, they really showed China. This just looks bad on Bitcoin tbh.

It's probably some little kid messing around, it's not really a big deal IMO. This is not going to stop Bitcoin from rebounding I guarantee you. We're going up up up from here! I predict $10,000/Bitcoin sometime next year.

It is just kind of an interesting article if you like to follow the computer security/hacking world. I find it fascinating reading most of the time. Some of the things hackers do blows my mind. This is just a Ddoss though.. big whoop. Script kiddies gonna script kiddie.
1956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: Which Alt Coin will see the most growth in 2014? on: December 19, 2013, 04:43:33 PM
My vote is on Litecoin. It's going to take a while for some of the generation 2 crypto currencies (or other ALTs) to catch up to Bitcoin/Litecoin. It's going to take something truly innovative to uproot them as the most popular/valuable electronic currency. I do not see this happening within the next 5-10 years. The network effect is going to have a long lasting affect on Bitcoin/Litecoin prices.

I just wanted to stop in and say thanks! I've been really busy answering emails, assembling coins & packages, etc... along with my day job it has actually been hard to find time to sleep lately. I think that is a good problem to have, but I haven't had as much time to respond here on the forums & am a bit behind in emails. Since ~November 22 (the websites launch), we have sold over 1048 coins. This is much faster than expected. I might need to hire some extra help for assembling to keep up. For instance.. 321 coins have been ordered since Monday. Most of these coins will be shipped tomorrow & the rest on Friday.. just in time for Christmas for domestic orders.

We shipped all orders up to orders that were place last Sunday. The cut off time for domestic first class mail is this Friday. Please get your order in by tonight if you want it by Christmas. If you want to pay for express shipping this weekend, email sales@cryptovest.com and I will send you an invoice via coinpayments.net or paypal with the added shipping costs. If you are an international customer, it is most likely too late to get your order by Christmas, but please email me and I will see. Cut off times vary by country.

Coin capsules are now available in the store.. both with Firstbits and without, your choice: http://imgur.com/a/CCpl3

A coin capsule is a plastic airtight coin protector, they are good for long storage of coins for protection. There is the option to add the "Firstbits" of your coin to the inside of the coin capsule via semi clear white tape. This way you can keep track of your coins without worrying about the plastic bags that come in the standard packaging. You may type the Firstbits of each coin in any block explorer to see the transactions to and from the coin. The Firstbits are the first 7 characters of an address.

Please submit the Firstbits of your coins in your order message during check out for this option if you are ordering coin protectors for coins that are already in your possession or coins that you personally assembled. Otherwise, we will email you and request the Firstbits. Please note if you are ordering an assembled coin for this coin capsule, see the coin's web store page and the capsule is an added option. Ordering the capsules that way will let us know ahead of time not to request the firstbits from you and that we should generate them.

Just look at all the features that this coin will have !! http://emunie.com/

BTC will belong to the historic past.

EDIT: it will solve all issues of cryptocoins: It will provide 100% anonymity, a built-in exchange, truly instant transactions and the list goes on...

+ a dedicated and competent dev.

May I ask what features emunie will have on its release? I imagine it is not fully developed yet. How many/what features currently exist in the Beta?

Great... moved to the alt-coin section. Now this thread has every chance in the world of being noticed by decent developers...  Undecided

Keep hope brother. You have a good idea here, someone will come along and make it a reality. Smiley
