Which Discord server did you get these messages from?
The original thread seems somewhat shady, considering that I couldn't find anything on the official Mercatox site regarding a giveaway. The unofficial site also has this to say: To activate your account and start transacting, you should to deposit funds to your new account, deposit must be not bellow 0.02 BTC or 1 ETH... Result: now you have balance on your exchange account that can be changed to other cryptocurrencies. "bellow" Definitely a scam. But I don't have anything concrete on the thread creator.

Feel free to leave the forum if you do not like its systems. The trust system is pretty convoluted... but so is Bitcoin.

Have to agree he is unreal. Now to shift just a bit banning for cut and paste is done.
So why not ban posters that write like this person writes.
This is unreal that he has not been banned. Take a look at my thread. This is not clear at all to me.
What is your native language?
Russian If you post in Russian, one of the bi(or more)lingual Russian/English speakers should be able to translate for you. If you know of anyone in your community that can do so, that would also be good for correspondence.

I don't think card counting works with online casinos. The only people I know who have made money from playing in online casinos ( apart from affiliates ) are the pro poker players who start tables to draw in new players. They play with the casino's money, and get a %age of their winnings. It does work. But not as efficiently. Most online places will have 8-deck games with a penetration of 4 decks. This means that to beat the variance you have to be quite lucky. The highest true count I've ever gone up to (for only a few rounds) is somewhere around 8 before I got shuffled away. This was over the course of scores of hours, over multiple tables.
Gamble for fun and adhere to basic strategy. Count if you want to... but it will detract from your enjoyment and if there's a marginal gain, it's not worth it. (I believe it's somewhere like $5/hr with a 10K bankroll in online play)

We know that thanks to our system we identified a lot of suspicious transactions, which prevented our customers from losing money. That's a mere practice. In this case, how did you stop this customer from losing money?

it is really very risky to use credit card or lend money to buy any cryptocurrency including bitcoin and and any altcoins. you may make profit with it but there is a very huge risk to loose everything.

We have a menu 'more', this can be a good place for important threads and forum announcements. Honestly, it's so "out of the way" and unnoticeable that I have only clicked on it a handful of times. I've probably gotten scammed more times than I've used it. We can use also the news feed, which is quite powerful informative tool. This should be restricted to what it's currently used for. Important Bitcoin or wallet-centric updates. @B1t i know, the search engines sucks but just imagine how huge the forum is. Total Posts: 51,813,829

learning how to do cash out is certainly very important, because crypto always has a high risk, not in terms of prices in the market that can suddenly decline, but also the level of crypto wallet security is still lacking, so you should do cash out of your crypto ATTENTION: WALLET SECURITY IS STILL LACKING IN CRYPTO SO YOU MUST CASH OUT NOW

BTW i think the captcha thead should be pinned. Lots of important updates are unpinned. You have, for example, the 2-week email security update... cryptios account recovery... merit... etc. If anything, the Stake Your Address thread should be stickied. That needs to be at an easy-to-find place and needs to be accessible to new users; we should be encouraging address staking.

Does this guy or the team or whatever have any real client? If there are any then those must be some bunches of crazy people as shit :-) Someone got scammed by GP a while back, IIRC. The problem is that game-protect is likely to garner interest from uninformed individuals or people who don't use Bitcointalk. After all, he's certainly not going to limit his spread solely to this forum.

Also, if you get 11 or 10 then double. And yes insurance is just throwing money at the dealer... Yup. If you want to be more exact, double on 11 unless dealer has an Ace and you're not playing a <=2 deck table. Double on 10 for dealer 9 and below. And here's another stipend when it comes to insurance: Let 10-value cards be -9 and everything else 4. When the running total reaches a true count of 4 (i.e. total > 4 * cardsLeft / cardsTotal) you place insurance. If you have two aces you might as well split also... Always split Aces, never split Faces (unless you're counting). @jetty who has the confidence to do this thing in person . You're a lot more likely to get caught too... Live counting is where the money is, though. The point to make is to make your bets fall in line with your character or current mood. If they are suspicious (i.e. stagnant bet size then sudden increases) then you will get caught.

Talking about this - I think very recently I have seen a guy who was claiming that he is a pro dice player and asking for money so that he and the inverters can make money or something LOL I remember that thread. I decided to humor them for a little bit. Here it is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5164200
(that is also shady, of course) Should we host a thread for "extremely improbable sales" for the items mentioned here (and similar items)?

Been around for as long as the old tale of "profitable gambling script"
Even if the wallet files are legitimate... if the users are willing to part with it, then it means it's virtually uncrackable. Moreover, it doesn't mean that they don't have backups for when technology advances to a point where they CAN crack the password. I know I would absolutely never give away my wallet files to anyone if I knew I had even the sharpest margin of getting into it. Flag it up! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=462https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=463

I rarely see more than 2 or 3 merited posts on any given page. This means you'll be trashing up to 90% of the discussion.
Now, that's usually not a problem when you're considering the holistic post quality of the forum... but given that you're seeking quality, you would be more likely to sidestep most of the spam-heavy boards. For example, 99%+ of the Altcoin boards' posts are worthless. But in Technical Discussion... we have many more high-quality posts.

I think my blackjack strategy works by determining the likelihood of the dealer going bust along with a small amount of martingale (it gives you the first card of the dealer, if its a 5 or 6 they're quite likely to go bust after being tempted to hit on 15... But its a bit more advanced than that so I can't explain it so well... Keep it simple: More low numbers = bet higher. More high numbers = bet lower. Never take insurance. Never hit 12+ on dealer 3-6. Always hit/double otherwise until hard 17. Soft to 18 for dealer 2-8. Soft to 19 for dealer 9 to A. You should know when to double down.

It's BS. Look at his feedback & post history - this guy is a shill for hire who will promote any scam exchange. I was pretty skeptical too, especially after the feedback. I don't see the relevance of hiring a shill (or giving them any incentive) that is a Newbie. Moreover, the negative feedback is a pretty bad sign for someone who's supporting YoBit.

Not banned. Signature still there and they aren't shown as banned on BPIP. Looks like they're just taking a break - maybe finally veering off the forum and now into sanity?

Maybe it'd make more sense if posts older than x days had 0.1x weight of newer posts, where x is 90, or 7 if it's in an altcoin board. Or something more elaborate. Something something thread activity increases weight.
You could make a simple function to decay the weight in parallel with the page of the thread (i.e. older, inactive threads are worth less) and if you wanted to add additional depth, something with ( recentPosts / arbitraryDuration ).
Are people actually reporting threads older than a year? It's more difficult for me to find those threads than it would be for me to find spam across the forum. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
