1961  Economy / Speculation / Re: VERY NICE MOMENT TO BUY. DONT MISS on: January 16, 2016, 12:58:08 PM
You know what binary options are, asshole? Yeah, I staked everything I had on $1,000 BTC, thought I was playing it extra safe.
Shocked Say what? If that's "extra" safe, what's your idea of "normal" safe? Riding a unicycle on the freeway while juggling running chainsaws? You're clearly trolling. Nobody's that stupid.
1962  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dip buyers coming in now on: January 16, 2016, 03:48:02 AM
I just bought BTC5 at US$390. I'm hoping to buy at least BTC100 more over the weekend if the price keeps dropping. Keep those cheap coins coming. Grin
wow good luck, we need buyer like you right now to increase the hope of the new traders, lots of them are still selling. Grab it brother Wink
Another BTC50 grabbed at US$370. Everyone else better hurry up; these cheap coins are going fast! Get 'em before they're gone!

Poor dip buyers... they keep on getting screwed over...
I wouldn't know about the poor ones, but us rich dip buyers keep on making out like bandits.

1964  Other / Off-topic / Re: There are a ton of decent/quality posters being ignored by DannyHamilton on: January 10, 2016, 04:11:13 AM
I ignore more users than he does, and while it is annoying to manage such a huge list, reading their posts is even more annoying. I don't ignore users based on their signatures, only the content of their posts, yet there's still a huge overlap between my list and Danny's. What does that tell you?
1965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Reindexing blocks on disk WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR on: January 07, 2016, 09:52:12 AM
cpu is unlikely, assuming your system is stable without core running.
It's likely if it's excessively overclocked. Often it's perfectly stable for gaming (since modern games don't actually use the CPU much), but as soon as you run something that pushes the CPU 100%, it either overheats or undervolts.
1966  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it something suspicious thing going on with newly generated daily coin limit? on: January 02, 2016, 04:00:30 AM
What are you talking about? There's no daily limit. Sometimes blocks are found faster than average. Sometimes slower than average. There's nothing suspicious going on.
1967  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slinky Defies the Magical Force of Gravity on: December 28, 2015, 07:44:13 AM
Magical or not, gravity is not being defied. If you think it is, why not glue a pair of Slinkys to your shoes and jump off a building? You might want to go with a small building, in case you're wrong. Post results.
1968  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slinky Defies the Magical Force of Gravity on: December 28, 2015, 03:11:13 AM
Idiot. Slinkys (all springs actually, but this behaviour is more easily noticed with Slinkys) act this way because they are affected by the "magical" force of gravity. When a spring is supported at one end and the other end is allowed to dangle freely, the spring stretches due to the force of gravity pulling down the free end. The tension on the spring is exactly equal to the weight of the spring, ie, the spring's mass multiplied by gravitational acceleration.

When the support from a stretched spring is removed, the spring contracts. In accordance with Newton's second law, the rate of contraction is the force of tension divided by the spring's mass, which we can see from above is exactly the rate of gravitational acceleration. Hence the spring contracts at the exact same rate that it falls, creating the cool effect you see here.

For further proof that there's no defiance of natural laws going on, pay attention to the spring's centre of mass and note that its downward motion is identical to that of a dropped brick.
1969  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's make the largest quote ever on: December 24, 2015, 03:49:52 AM
What's going on?  I'm over 40 - I don't understand.   Huh
He's attempting to get spammers to build a giant quote pyramid for no reason other than to populate the ignore lists of us reasonable folks.
1970  Other / Meta / New Board Suggestion: "Actual Press" on: December 23, 2015, 03:00:37 AM
In addition to the "Press" board for "Notable press hits", we ought to have an "Actual Press" board, for "Actually notable press hits". In this new board, the following types of press hits shall be considered not sufficiently "actual":

  • Blog posts from bloggers who are unknown outside the Bitcoin community.
  • Press releases issued by companies that are unknown outside the Bitcoin community.
  • Articles that are in no way related to Bitcoin save for the text "How does this affect Bitcoin? Haben sind gewesen gehabt haben geworden sein!" or words to that affect being appended as an afterthought.
  • Articles from publications that are apparently funded entirely by their editorial staff posting links to their articles in the Press board with paid signature ads.
  • Blog posts about press releases that are in no way related to Bitcoin by people with paid signature ads.

The creation of this new board will not substantially affect the operation of the existing Press board, as over 90% of posts in that section will still belong there. This new board will be of great utility to those looking for Bitcoin stories of sufficient actuality to be worth reading.

This concludes my proposal. Thank you for your consideration.
1971  Other / Meta / Re: what is with the flood of bogus spam posts? on: December 22, 2015, 12:23:28 PM
I've reported probably 300 in the last week.
I probably would have too, but for the 2,129 users on my ignore list whose asinine posts I don't normally see and therefore don't report. How do you not go insane?
1972  Other / Meta / Re: what is with the flood of bogus spam posts? on: December 22, 2015, 11:47:46 AM
I have 992 reports, 99% accurate. Soon I'll have more reports than activity. I like buttons too.

1973  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have You Given Satanism a Fair Chance ? on: December 17, 2015, 04:09:59 PM
See? Now look what you've done! You're encouraging morons to follow the Left-Hand Path! They'll surely trip over and hurt themselves, which is fine except they'll probably find a way to blame me for it, and nobody wants that.
1974  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have You Given Satanism a Fair Chance ? on: December 17, 2015, 03:45:09 PM
I got banned from Poloniex chat box for asking if i can preach about Satanism like a year ago.
You'll get banned from the Church of Satan itself for asking that. Satanists don't proselytise.
1975  Other / Meta / Re: Need resolution before I go to law enforcement concerning this forum. on: December 17, 2015, 05:45:35 AM
I'm a pretty tolerant person. Look at what I have endured the past 7 8 years almost. Then have to endure it on this site ? For what reason though. WWhat have i done other than getting poker site built then trying to advertise ? Ontop of that I'm a vegetarian. cause I wantd better for my family and my self. I'm a monster ? I don't think it works that way man.
It does work that way. The universe doesn't care about your problems. Only people do. If they don't, it's because of your own bad attitude and nothing else. Until you change your attitude, neither Satan nor Jesus nor whatever other gods you may believe in can help you.
1976  Other / Meta / Re: Need resolution before I go to law enforcement concerning this forum. on: December 17, 2015, 05:02:49 AM
I am a satanist at heart because of this and do believe in a physical being that lives and most of you people serve without knowing it.

Yet here I am, still breathing.   Roll Eyes
Keep in mind, that was over a year ago. If he was ever a member of the Church of Satan, they would surely have excommunicated him by now, having even less tolerance for such fools than you do. Maybe that's what's got him so upset. Even Satan's turned His back on him.
1977  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-12-12] Sure Bitcoin Companies Exempt from Regulation in North Carolina on: December 15, 2015, 03:26:24 AM
What the Hell kind of news outlet is this? This article was stolen from NewsBTC then run through an automated thesaurus, presumably to foil plagiarism detectors. They ought to be taken out and injected. Roll Eyes
1978  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any one solved this issue ??? on: December 13, 2015, 02:44:14 AM
I don't get it either. The dumb man just writes down what he saw, and gives this information to the police. The police then tell the blind man he was robbed, and arrest the deaf man. I mean, what do you think normal people would do in this situation?
1979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Setting up Bitcoin Qt and opening port 8333 on: December 09, 2015, 04:55:20 PM
so according to you anyone with a sig ad cant be relied upon.  its not that they are smart and are getting paid for doing something they would be doing anyway.....  Huh
Not just according to me. Almost everyone feels this way, with good evidence. For example:

[ranochigo] give the wrong information  Huh Huh Huh
You should really not be surprised that his information is wrong. You enter your private IP address when configuring your router to forward the port. You enter your public IP address (which you can find out at sites like whatismyipaddress.com) when using bitnodes.21.co to check if your node is reachable.

so had this up a few hours now and this is the best we can do here on bitcointalk,
...
cheers lads great job, and we wonder why there is a shortage of bitcoin nodes?   Undecided
Are you really too impatient to wait more than a few hours? Does it occur to you that the people best able to answer your question might be in a different timezone to you and hence might be sleeping while you're posting and won't even see your post for up to half a day? If the shortage of Bitcoin nodes is really related to the shortage of your patience, then I suppose there's no hope for us.
1980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Setting up Bitcoin Qt and opening port 8333 on: December 09, 2015, 04:09:27 PM
LOL at "private IP address", whatever that is...
You mean you don't even know what it is? Here, this Wikipedia page will explain it. Until you have read and understood it, don't laugh at your own ignorance. That's for other people to laugh at.
