1981  Economy / Speculation / Re: EUROPEAN BANKING AUTHORITY ADVISES BANKS IN EU NOT TO BUY, HOLD OR SELL VIRTUAL on: July 04, 2014, 02:23:59 PM
...
It's like Coca Cola advising people to not drink Pepsi.

Well, not until Pepsi will be properly regulated!  Cheesy

It's not bearish, but some idiotic bank clerks may interpret it the wrong way and be difficult about sending / withdrawing fiat to / from exchanges.

EBA and General Bitstamp declared the mission search & destroy aka deleverage Bitfinex as official. No hostages will be made!

No sign of that yet, $ swaps still at 28.7M$. And no significant rise in BTC swaps.

500 should hold for the uptrend to remain in force.

Adam should change the poll to 'will the price be higher than 500$ next week?'.

Monkey is suddenly fearful of an impulsive downward movement.

Perhaps monkeys are in touch with their primitive impulsive instincts than I am.  Rationally, I do not see how this thing can fail to take off.  Every professional trader in every major financial center must realize at this point, that a 10x, 50x move is all but guarranteed when COIN lists.  How can they not be loading up in their personal accounts?

Still, monkey sez:  Danger of 640 floor breaking over the next 5 hours.

Over the next 5 hours? I only expected that tomorrow. If it happens, your monkey is a better bear than me.

It started yesterday, but it only broke today. And without FUD, at least nothing I heard.

Go Bearstamp!
1987  Other / Off-topic / Re: PC Gaming Thread on: July 04, 2014, 10:05:09 AM
Oblivion is great, much better than Skyrim imo. Few games I've enjoyed as much as it.

+1, I bought Skyrim when it came out and played 80 hours. Haven't picked it up since then. Meanwhile, I played through oblivion for 150 hours, then my hard drive died so I lost everything...and I came back and started a new character. I just love the atmosphere and the quests in oblivion, I think those two things are so superior to Skyrim. Currently trying to get all the mods up to make Oblivion look good before I play again.
After playing Skyrim the graphics are a let down. But the gameplay and story - best one around. Smiley

That's why I want to do in a step by step fashion: Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim. That way the graphics will only get better and won't take away from the experience at all.

I'm currently playing the Witcher 1 now and at some point I'll do The Witcher 2 and 3 in that order as well. I think it's the best way.

For those who think Oblivion is better than Skyrim (yes, it is less boring): you have to try Nehrim, a free total mod for Oblivion. And there will be a Skyrim total mod called Enderal.
Nehrim is so much better than Oblivion, some plots and quests are epic. Drawbacks: it's only 99% polished, even with the last patch, and it starts in a dark mine plagued by trolls.
There is also possible to play Morroblivion (I didn't yet), which is Morrowind with Oblivion graphics.

Resistance to 700 keeps getting bigger Sad
The stronger the resistance, the more powerful the breakout  Wink

Yes, the wrong way i'm afraid.

The resistance actually isnt growing significantly

He is probably talking about BTC-E, and he seems to be right. Actually ShroomsKit made many observations that uber-bulls ignore.
1989  Economy / Economics / Re: How high a of a market cap would bitcoin need to have to be 'stable'? on: July 03, 2014, 08:02:37 PM
Bitcoin price was relatively stable during 2012, because of high supply and concentrated trading at MtGox.
Now with lower supply (and more hoarding) and market fragmentation, it's much easier to pump bitcoin.

Pump ended up into resistance and now it's dump time.

feels like the resistance we encountered at 680 last week has moved to 660...

Don't you mean last month (not week)? Anyway, BFX total sum of $ swaps has risen from 22M$ to 28M$ during the last month.

Got my card today.

So, now we are back to cards.  Tongue

Keep it in good condition, it may have collectible value someday. Or at least a sentimental value.
Maybe sometime in the future an exchange for such cards will CCMF to the moon.
1994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 03, 2014, 11:49:16 AM
Sounds like you're getting worried, Jorge.
You bet I am.  Didn't Tim Draper mention Brazil explicitly as a country where they expect to find buyers for those 30'000 BTC?

Good point. Draper may find some Brazilians willing to become bagholders.
1995  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in "Return to Mean" stage of bubble? on: July 03, 2014, 11:47:49 AM
Simran, do you still hold you LTC stash? IS LTC also in the "return to mean" stage?

Litecoin is experiencing capitulation. Much despair to come before it goes up (sustained) again.
1996  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX post card by airmail (Tokyo court) on: July 03, 2014, 10:57:47 AM
Postcard includes a paper wallet with all your missing BTC. Itīs hidden on the upper right corner on the last side! Itīs a bit tricky to find.

That was cruel, man!  Cheesy
No it doesn't include a paper wallet, don't waste your time looking for one.
The English translation is inside, peel carefully.

This kind of market behaviour suggest we haven't left the bear market yet.
And of course we didn't have a proper capitulation, so for now the market is in limbo.

At what point are you not a bear? $2k, $3k, $5k

Or are you always a bear?

Because you are throwing money away not playing both side unbiasedly.

Being a contrarian is just a self identity thing with you, right?

I'll believe that we are out of the bear market when I'll see a properly defined wave 1.
It's not there yet, the market will have to reach about 800$ for that. And then start corrective wave 2, dropping to about 600$.

Well, if you have a filthy rich friend, ask him what he thinks about the matter. Would he overpay so much?
