1981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which industries will get disrupted by Decentralized Blockchain Technology? on: May 29, 2019, 02:54:11 AM
Which industries do you think will get disrupted by Decentralized Blockchain Technology the most? In terms of real world use case applications of Decentralized Blockchain Technology, which ones would you say will have the greatest positive impact in the world.

The blockchain technology can potentially affect (for good, most likely) many industries. Now, finance and banking is what I have in mind that can benefit first and foremost with this innovation. Including in this industry is the remittance business which is huge and involves millions of people or users globally. Our definition, view and use of money is changing thanks to bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I am also looking forward how the blockchain can help the food and healthcare industries as these two are very critical for our own survival as species here in this withering planet.
1982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [STO][KRTEX] Kriptomat - The First Digital Currencies Platform to Share Profits on: May 29, 2019, 02:42:22 AM
Security tokens give less dividend or return to investors simply because there is no factual product, there is nothing to sell and most of project, we know are built by hype.. their price don't reflect real value and it seems people don't really care about finished product. But this project seems promising, didn't dig that deep but they are already have partners before even operating. That's a good start!

My very impression is that Kriptomat is lead by experienced and professional people who know what they are doing. The platform is already there very ready to do some business and I think the whole project is very transparent and indeed has big potential to be a big leader in this industry. Good luck to the whole team and its myriad of supporters anywhere. Right now, there are many projects promising to deliver this and that but after the crowdfunding state the real and different image emerges...Kriptomat hopefully is going to be very different.
1983  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Satoshi Line Up, Pick from most likey to least likely. on: May 29, 2019, 02:05:27 AM
Yes, these colorful and sometimes very crazy personalities are LEAST likely to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto. You should have included the name of Julian Paul Assange the famous Australian journalist and computer programmer who founded WikiLeaks in 2006 as BitiLeaks made the claim that he is actually the one we are looking for...maybe this is just another joke. Soon, the list can be expanding as the search for the real bitcoin founder goes on and on.

1984  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-28] John McAfee: Bitcoin Time Traveler Proof BTC Will Hit $1 Million on: May 29, 2019, 01:53:42 AM

Self-proclaimed “mad man” John McAfee is back at it again. Sticking firmly to his call for the Bitcoin price to smash past $1 million by the end of 2020, the crypto evangelist enlisted an unlikely ally in his bullish crusade: the “Bitcoin time traveler” who McAfee says has “never been wrong.”

A time traveler is hardly a convincing source, but as you can see from his famous post, he certainly has been broadly correct – so far. Back to reality for a second: It’s quite apparent that these predictions are amusingly broad. It isn’t like our “Back to the Future” friend predicted Bitcoin at $8,800 in May 2019.

Regardless, John McAfee is sold. He doesn’t care where the information comes from so long as it’s correct – and vindicates his own predictions.

Here comes the man of many jokes and laughter, ladies and gentlemen, here is John McAfee for you. While I share with him the conviction that soon bitcoin can be rising up astronomically as what many analysts have been saying all along, there is something so eccentric about John and his outlandish predictions.

John McAfee seems lining up with the company of Craig Wright in making sure that they are always in the limelight and getting the attention of the media (mainstream or not) and so they have this propensity to make claims beyond logic and reality.

1985  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favorite Bitcoin exchange? on: May 29, 2019, 01:42:01 AM
Binance remain my number one favorite despite the recent hack which I believed it can happen to any other exchange I still see Binance as the most trust worthy and secured exchange as they always stand by their words all funds in most cases are refund to investors and traders. Coinbene is another good exchange with good interface security is on a high side but, its always better not to rely on centralized exchange securities save your funds in a private Ledger 📒. I also see Decentralized exchanges as the best because they are not open to hackers.

For sure, Binance is a great survivor. While the same hack that occurred with that exchange should have killed others, it remained strong, steadfast and even wiser as it learned the big lesson so far on security and safety. The big reason why Binance is not affected that much is because it is ready for such eventually with the help of the SUFU it established beforehand...this softened the blow and made the exchange came back in no time at all. The management of Binance has the foresight and the vision which became reliable during the time of crisis. As for Coinbene, I am reading some good comments about that exchange too but I am not so much active in there though I think I got an account in that and I once traded a token before (months ago, I guess). There are other good exchanges actually and there will be more as there is right now an explosion in this industry but am sure that later on newcomers which are not truly ready will slowly realize they are not holding a good share of the market and will just wither away.
1986  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-28] BitMEX Operator Firm Donates to MIT to Conduct Research on: May 29, 2019, 01:21:09 AM

Nice to hear of such a very positive move from people behind BitMEX. I think that we need more and more donations coming from firms like BitMEX so that they can be helping the very industry they are in. Let's hope this act can entice other cryptocurrency exchanges to also share their resources in making sure that bitcoin stay on top of the game. I want to hear Binance, Kucoin and other top exchanges doing the same thing but I think Binance is preoccupied with having its own blockchain competing with the rest of the industry so this may not happen at all.
1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockchain for retailing - the best idea ever on: May 28, 2019, 03:30:11 PM

I am sure there are now many projects working along this idea focusing on the growing and very lucrative retail market. In 2017, I supported a good and still alive (fortunately) project called as Nucleus Vision and it is primarily working with retailers. Here is their published description: "Nucleus Vision is an #IoT & #Blockchain based, contactless identification system, using $nCash cryptocurrency to enable transactions across #retail ecosystem."
1988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is successful? - this one statement sums it up! on: May 28, 2019, 03:18:28 PM

Yes, in the simplest way of expressing it those are important reasons why bitcoin has become the top and the most recognizable cryptocurrency of all time. Bitcoin is actually not the best and may not be perfect but it is the one which the market is addicted with. In other words, bitcoin is really unlike any other enterprise model we have and the technology underlying it is quite unique and very transforming yet at its essence it is actually just simple.
1989  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Caused Bitcoin to Jump 100%? on: May 28, 2019, 03:07:57 PM

I am sure those factors cited in that article somehow contributed for the bullish stance of bitcoin right now. The bottomline here is that more and more people are buying than selling bitcoin...to put it in the simplest terms. When you combined all of those factors (and there are more not included in that publication) they resulted into the overall positive sentiment of the market which is very important for bitcoin to propel itself to higher heights. I am just hoping that the bull run in 2019-2020 can be different than what we experienced in 2017.
1990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitiLeaks reveals the identity of Satoshi! Also takes aim at Craig Wright! on: May 28, 2019, 02:48:16 PM
Any proof that Julian Assange is indeed Satoshi Nakamoto? We need a solid proof not just another finger pointing at some person claiming that they know Satoshi Nakamoto.

The real and the best litmus test as to who is the REAL and the ONLY Satoshi Nakamoto is moving those wallets where the man's hoard of bitcoin are located. That is the only solid proof we need...all the other proofs and evidences can be full of dramas that only Hollywood producers can appreciate. Now, claiming can be so easy just like what Craig Wright is always prone to do but proving based on hard and verifiable proofs can be another world. How many people will soon be claiming to be the one? I am now thinking that maybe I should claim too and get my share of the fame available for this craziness.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Compilation:The most stupid questions about Satoshi... on: May 28, 2019, 01:56:51 PM

Indeed, it is getting into our nerves all the endless questions and speculations on Satoshi Nakamoto. I think there are many people even members of this forum who are obsessed about the man who founded bitcoin. These people love to imagine many things that supposed to have surrounded the man (and even if he is a man and not gay?). I am adding some of these questions here:

1. Was Satoshi Nakamoto married and who can be his wife?
2. Did Satoshi have a son or daughter? Is Craig Wright his brother?
3. Where can we find the tomb of Satoshi Nakamoto if he is already dead?
4. Is Satoshi Nakamoto actually an alien from Mars?

At the end of the day, sometimes I just laugh reading all of these non-sense questions and speculations...at least they are serving as good entertainment.

1994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Theft Online - Reimbursement? on: May 28, 2019, 01:14:55 PM
When coins are stolen from the web wallet, will the site pay back the victim money?

Most probably not. Insurance is something still greatly missing in crypto world. Any reputable site has to have some Terms and Conditions you signed that you agree. And most of them write clearly there that they are not liable for the loses. Just people read that only when it's late. Also, if your account details are compromised, then it's 100% your fault and nobody on Earth would reimburse you.

Insurance for cryptocurrency exchanges is a good idea if this is not already done. At any rate, Binance made the right decision of establishing a fund specifically for emergency situations like what it got into recently but I am not sure with other exchanges of their mechanism to deal with a thief that is not the fault of their members. Now, if the hacking is due to member's fault then the exchange has no obligation whatsoever to reimburse or return what was lost already. This is the reason why we have to be careful with our information.
1995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to explain blockchain/Bitcoin to millennials on: May 28, 2019, 12:52:38 PM

There is no need to feel obligated to explain to and influence the generation of the millennials as far as the blockchain and cryptocurrency is concerned because I am sure that they are already into this and for those who have not heard of it they can easily get the information they might need online. In fact, the millennials can be among one of the most excited on these many innovations.

Now, for the sake of making things in the right perspective, here is a YouTube video which explains to one and all what is the blockchain and what are its many implications: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl8OlkkwRpc

1996  Other / Off-topic / Re: is donald trump evil? on: May 28, 2019, 11:11:50 AM
do you think trump is good guy or bad, will he drop the nukes?

I am sure that he will not be the president that will use the stored nuclear bombs of the USA. In fact, in my prediction, USA will not be the first country to ever use the modern nuclear bombs from its many silos. As to the question if the sitting president is a good or bad guy...the answer to that depends a lot on someone's political views and convictions. People who are not usually allied with the Republicans may not like him that much but with his own base of support he is for them the president that delivered many of his promises. A lot of analysts considered Donald Trump to be a polarizing politician...it's either you like him or not. Realistically, there are many who do not like him but there are also many who silently support him. As for me, let's allow him to serve his term and since the election is coming next year then we will again allow the people to decide if he can retain the office or a new president will assume the White House.
1997  Other / Off-topic / Paid Porn/Gambling Site With Crypto? on: May 28, 2019, 10:39:05 AM

Porn and gambling are two of the most popular industries that can hugely benefit from the explosion of cryptocurrency. Now, it is quite possible to gamble and to watch porn without going through the usual third-party intermediaries thereby sealing our own privacy and anonymity (or am I just dreaming here?).

Are you one of the many growing patrons/users of gambling and porn sites? How was your experience in paying with cryptocurrency? Do you use bitcoin in the transactions?
1998  Other / Off-topic / Do You Share Crypto-Related Things To Your Kids on: May 28, 2019, 10:27:04 AM

I love to talk about the family although we are now living in a generation where familial decay is very much obvious all around us. This is quite ironic that in the age of high-tech communication gadgets, devices and technologies, families are torn apart due to lack of communication. Some are living under one roof yet could not connect to one another...

Communication is the way we can connect to each other and there will never be any replacement with one-on-one form of doing it. Of course, gadgets can help but they should not be relied on all the time.

Now, in relation to cryptocurrency, do you share whatever you are doing in this industry with your kids...perhaps making them also interested with bitcoin and the rest of the gang?

1999  Other / Off-topic / Re: NBA Fans : Will the Golden State Warriors three-peat? on: May 28, 2019, 10:13:20 AM
They are in finals now. Even without Kevin Durant, I think they are taking down whoever comes from the East (Milwaukee or Toronto). Steph is back to 2015 MVP level, Draymond has been fantastic and Klay is also chipping in.

I don't play basketball but I love watching NBA and of course I am a fan of GSW. I am sure that against Toronto there is no way that Golden State can't win the championship. I beleive that this time GSW is more prepared physically, emotionally and psychologically for the games in the finals. Let's shoot the ball!
2000  Other / Off-topic / Re: Beware of the latest scam in town on: May 28, 2019, 10:02:26 AM
That old scam where people send money and then they will get more money back will probably never go away. People need to think before they send any crypto to an unknown site if an exchange would give away anything they would give away to there users accounts on the exchange.

The strategy is to use a popular name in the cryptocurrency business and use it to get some credibility which can be important in building some trust. I am sure that old-timers will never be victimized by this simple but elaborate scam but newbies can easily fall victims. This is one reason why if we are aware of an online scam especially connected to cryptocurrency we must share it in this forum so it can be picked by the search engines. We can fight scams by educating people about their shenanigans and malicious intent.
