21  Economy / Economics / Re: The economic effect of people flying from RF mandatory conscription on: September 26, 2022, 11:43:20 PM
I am sure that it will. How? First, the army will consume a lot of resources (and the army is huge).
Second, the conscription will hurt the economy since it will take away a lot of people who are needed.
Third, the conscription will hurt a lot of families who will have to change their economic activities and will have to support the conscripts.
Fourth, it will cause a lot of economic disruptions since a lot of people will be displaced.
And fifth, the conscription will hurt the morale of the people who will see their sons, brothers and friends going to die in a war that they don't support.

As for me, I will obviously flee. No doubt. Only idiots die in wars lol
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is a creeping beast on: September 26, 2022, 11:31:36 PM
You have made a very insightful opinion on a complex issue.

But a decentralized currency won't solve the issue which caused the excessive printing.
The feds don't like printing money either, even they don't want to do it. But there was no other way. A new currency, however it works, won't change the fundamentals of demand & supply. A decentralized currency may even be worse in such scenarios. Since there won't be any way to control the money supply(or a central authority to do so), the problem will be much bigger than what we have right now.

And inflation isn't always bad. It's a part of growth.  It is a natural occurrence that happens when an economy is growing.

23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 26, 2022, 11:17:34 PM

Team Liquid is relying heavily on Yekindar. If this continues in their match against FNATIC, FNATIC has a better chance of winning their series. But of course, it will depend on the maps they will be picking. I will be betting for FNATIC to win but Liquid taking one map.

FAZE against Complexity is a no-brainer, I think. They should easily win against Complexity so a 2-0 win by Faze should be a safe bet. Faze performed very well in their group matches and I expect to carry over in the playoffs.

Fnatic recently lost to some Tier 2 teams(LDLC and Sangal), I don't have much confidence in them.
They can make it work on CT sided maps but Liquid will probably ban Nuke so only Ancient is left.

If Liquid wins Ancient(which will be the first map of the series most probably), then it will be a 2-0 for Liquid.

Yea, faze is gonna breeze through complexity unless they lose all pistols, conversion and first gun round in all the halves. I don't see it happening tho unless they are playing without sound lol

24  Economy / Economics / Re: Rebuttal: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset on: September 25, 2022, 10:35:43 PM
I agree with you OP. The rich are no better than the poor, they are simply more privileged.

The poor have just as much potential as the rich, but they are not given the same opportunities or resources. This is why it is so important to fight for social and economic justice. The poor deserve to have the same opportunities as the rich, and they should be able to use their talents and abilities to improve their lives and make a better future for themselves and their families.

Poors will always behind the 8 ball, trying to catch up with the rich. Only if we weren't taught to strive for that green as our goal in one life we have.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Derivation Path as A Mitigation of Loss of Funds on: September 25, 2022, 10:26:47 PM
Like witcher_sense already said, it won't be difficult to bruteforce the correct path if someone has your seed making the process of creating custom DP pointless. Anyone can just loop through the paths.

You are just making your funds hard to recover for yourself. Better to use a default compatible DP, so that you can easily recover your wallet.

Focus on keeping your seed safe(with added methods which have already been suggested by other users before me) and don't overcomplicate it with custom DP.

26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin a top player in Libertarian Government on: September 25, 2022, 10:04:01 PM
The idea of a libertarian government is a good one, but I don't think that it is the only way to achieve the goals of the crypto anarchist movement. It is important to remember that the government is made up of people who are Fallible and that they will make mistakes. It is also important to remember that the government is made up of people who are worried about their own power and their own interests and that they will do what they can to protect those interests.

There are other ways to achieve those goals, and that we should explore all of our options.

But yea, I agree with the notion that  the government does need to have less control over people's lives, and that this can be achieved through the use of cryptocurrencies.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 25, 2022, 09:38:54 PM
Team India got lucky with the edge on final delivery of the match and frivolous overthrows & extras. Australis should have won the match. Unluko.

Now we have just 20 days left in T20 World Cup

Yea, it was a nice warm up and experiment for all top contenders.

Australia's middle order can rely on Mathew wade but Maxwell and Smith are big questions. They didn't perform at all in this series. I can understand Maxwell's addition due to his exemplary fielding and ability to bowl a few overs. But Steve Smith provides nothing. He isn't a T20 player.

Australia still got three biggies in the bag, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Marsh.
They are definitely the favourites in this upcoming world cup.

As for Team India, hopefully Shamsi will be fit again. Without him and Bumra, I don't see team india even reaching the semis.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 25, 2022, 09:25:50 PM
the same goes for Team Liquid it'll be impressive for them to at least grab a map or will Cloud9 continue their run even though there's nothing to play since they've already secured the top spot.

Watching this now, pretty close right now and Team Liquid has slight dominance though. Its not that it really matters at this point but honestly I cant believe that Cloud9 will keep on running this hot without losing a single map, thats kinda absurd especially in this tournament so Im taking Team Liquid to win a single map. At this time of writing, its currently 7-9 for Team Liquid so yeah its a small hope for me
It was Yekindar's dominance. he carried 4 bots.
Without him Liquid had no chance. There's a 15 kill disparity between him and next top fragger on his team on one map alone.

He was giving Team liquid opening kills without even going down. He carried them hard.

Cloud9 probably wasn't taking this match seriously either since they were already qualified as top seed of the group.
I can't see liquid go past the first stage in the playoffs unless Osee fixes his awping in a day. Playoffs for Liquid starts from Tuesday.

We can say that things are already clear in Group D. I'm afraid it is nearly impossible for Eternal Fire to finish the group at the 3rd place in the worst case. Let's say EG and Liquid both lost, Eternal Fire will still need to win against Movistar Riders by a huge round difference. In short, they need a miracle tomorrow.  Grin

I think FURIA will defeat EG but Liquid will manage to defeat Cloud9 also. Cloud9 are already in a safe condition and they will most probably end the group as the leader even if they lose this one. Liquid might react to the shocking Eternal Fire loss strongly by winning this and secure themselves in the group. FURIA @1.24, Eternal Fire @1.53 and Liquid @2.65 are my choices for tomorrow's matches. Maybe it is a risky parlay but I'll give it a chance.

Eternal Fire will not be able to make the cut for the playoffs but they gave EG a fighting chance to steal the spot from Team Liquid. It is a long shot though that they will take 2 maps against Furia but sometimes upsets happen in CS. EG is gaining momentum and confidence in winning two series in a row.
Eternal fire can still make it.

This is how:

1.)Cloud 9 needs to beat liquid by 2-0
2.)Furia needs to beat EG
3.)EF needs to win by 2-0 against Botstar riders

If these 3 things happen then EF will qualify 100%

It's a long shot tho. But I can see it happening Cheesy Since all EF needs is the favourites to win their respective matches.

I am not very familiar with how tiebreakers work in CS, but if that happens, don't they all tie 2-3? Liquid and EF are tied in maps won but Liquid is way ahead in points.

How will EF outrank Liquid if they end up tying? Can somebody explain it.

Here's a spreadsheet of how things will go down in diff scenarios

Seems like EF will have to win by 2-0 and liquid & EG must lose by 0-2 for EF to have a chance

It's going to be very tough, odds are like 1 in 30 for something like this to happen
But it's still possible

31  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina to Hike Interest Rates to 75% as Inflation Nears 100% on: September 24, 2022, 10:20:39 PM
PTSD time for Argentina lol
Their inflation was almost 3000%+ in 1989, and it's already at around 100%

It is understandable that the central bank of Argentina would want to take action in order to curb inflation and prop up their currency. However, a 5.5 percentage point increase in the benchmark interest rate is a very aggressive move that may not be sustainable in the long run.
Additionally, the central bank's decision to reduce the level of short-term debt held by the central bank next year could further destabilize the economy if not done carefully.

Anyways, they are used to it lol

33  Economy / Economics / Re: Going to war means let's ulter the economic progression on: September 20, 2022, 07:18:59 PM
It is clear that war has a negative effect on economies, both on a local and global scale.
Rising inflation, food insecurity, and environmental degradation are just some of the ways in which war can take a toll on a country. While there may be some short-term benefits to going to war, in the long run, it is clear that the costs far outweigh the benefits.

Countries would be wise to invest in peacekeeping and diplomacy in order to avoid the devastating effects of war.

But one can easily provide a counter-argument like how war can spur innovation and economic growth. Additionally, war can create new markets for goods and services. Finally, war can lead to the consolidation of power by the victorious party, which can in turn lead to increased stability and prosperity.  Just look at how much industrial and technological growth we saw during the World wars and cold war Cheesy

It's a very hot topic.
34  Economy / Economics / Re: California sues Amazon, alleging its policies cause higher prices everywhere on: September 20, 2022, 07:13:52 PM
I think that this lawsuit has merit. Amazon has been accused of anticompetitive practices before, and I think that this case could set a precedent for future cases.

The evidence presented in the lawsuit filed by the state of California can be damning since it's really happening and can be easily proved. It is clear that Amazon has been using its market power to stifle competition and keep prices artificially high. This is detrimental to consumers and is a clear violation of antitrust laws.

Hopefully, we will see some real regulations after this lawsuit else it will be frivolous and futile.

Pathetic fielding, as expected.
Pathetic bowling, as expected.

Imagine if India is unable to defend a score of 208 in T20 lmao
There's a good chance of it happening tonight Smiley

At one moment i thought Australia will able to chase this target easily but Australia lost two quick wickets in an over, tilting the match again in the favor of India. Maxwell and Smith both gone in an over and now again the pressure will be on Australia. Another interesting thing is that Umpire did not give these two outs but it was reviewed taken by the Indians and they got the right decision by the TV umpire.
Those were close calls. With all the noise in the stadium it's almost impossible to hear the edge.
Even DK wasn't sure.

Like I predicted, Aus is too stronk.

The only two good bowlers in Indian team are on the bench.

This W was very predictable.
Albeit, things will be very different with bumra and shamsi.
I only respect these two players. Rest are clowns.

Told ya guys, Kohli is washed out. Stop supporting fraudsters. India needs better talent.

I don't find this to be a fixed match or some sort of fraudulent act happening around. The drop of catches from Indian players seems like there is need of true talent. Cameroon keeps scoring and have missed few drops, one from Axar Patel and the other from Rahul. Already Cameroon have scored 61 runs from 29 balls. The match have gone into the hands of Australia.
By fraudsters I mean incompetent players aka pay check stealers. I never called them matchfixers. They get paid so much by BCCI and brand promotion, why would they even risk their career over petty sum from fixing.

This is what I meant:

Kohli got lucky with a couple of knocks against Tier 3 teams. Australia has a very good bowling attack. Kohli won't withstand the pressure against good bowling.

Aus is going to whitewash India very easily. India currently sucks in all department, from bowling, fielding to batting.
These 11 fraudsters are going to be exposed this series, once again

Pathetic fielding, as expected.

Imagine if India is unable to defend a score of 208 in T20 lmao

Players are considered legends due to their past performance and not some hypothetical future performance.

- Under his captaincy, the Indian team secured to capture Test Mace for 4 consecutive years. Even the all-time great test skipper Steve Waugh didn't enjoy this feat.
- 2nd most international 100s (71) despite playing fewer innings, close to 200 fewer innings in comparison to Sachin (100 tons). Ricky Ponting has same international 100s but he played 150ish more innings.
- Received a Player of the decade award in 2020 because of his record in all 3 formats.

Hello, you there?

Clearly, no one can help someone if they deliberately don't want to understand a simple fact about what's the issue but okay whatever helps them sleep at

39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 20, 2022, 01:38:46 PM
If we do speak about ethical or not then it would always boils down on someones perspective, view or opinion. It isnt really just right that you would be having that sort of online begging
just for you to make out some sports betting.
Nothing about gamba twitch streams and this fiasco is an ethical question. It's very clear cut.

If what you've mentioned is an isolated case, they may not ban it, Twitch thrives on gambling streaming and they have gambling streams too on Youtube.

This case is direct result of normalizing gambling. This should be enough evidence that Twitch is deteriorating morals of its users by not censoring addictive vices.

I'm not sure about the terms and conditions of the Twitch. Based on that it is quite an easy thing for the Twitch team to stop users from creating and broadcasting their contents. For now gambling is getting popular around and Twitch got importance for its scheduled streaming and different giveaways. As one of the user stated, people will move towards other forms of streaming opportunities.
This is what I don't get. Brands don't advertise in gambling category, so twitch doesn't earn as much money from slots as they earn from other categories.
If twitch bans gamba streams then streamers will be forced to create content in other categories, which pays more(to Twitch and the creator).

Twitch banned most of the Adult female streamers(also known as thots) for NSFW content.
Why do you think that Twitch won't ban the gambling streamers?
I'm not using Twitch anymore and I don't like that platform, but from my experience, Twitch is very slow when it comes to banning streamers that violate their Terms of Service. Maybe the platform is just too big and Twitch doesn't have a big enough team of moderators and customer support representatives that would effectively control all streamers. I'm sure that the gambling streamers will be banned in the long run.
I am perpplexed too. Why isn't it banned already!

Twitch is probably worried about losing its users to the competition. Since a ban on gamba may trigger an exodus of slot streamers to other sites with more freedom. They give zero shit about what happens to Johnny when he starts gambling on his mommy's card after watching guys like trainwreck and ending up on streets 10 years later.

Hey guys,

Konfig has suffered an ankle injury and will most probably be out for the next 2-3 months.
They will be playing with a reserve player from Astralis academy team.

Source: https://twitter.com/AstralisCS/status/1572148843889803267

RMR's are next for them, will they be able to qualify with a new rifler + incompetent awp + biggest baiter in Tier 1 cs KEKW

Astralis needs a miracle.
