121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet (UPDATE) + fixed match on: August 15, 2022, 08:08:12 PM

Here it doesn't look like a scam. Even in the past he have mentioned of his big wins through the fixed match. If it is a scam approach he could've been flagged. He has posted proof of his bets in the past and what he have done is just a suggestion out of his analysis. Very few find it a way, because we ourselves can take the risk than spending with someone.

His choice of going for a loan is really a risky thing to consider for gambling.
and I own a billion dollars.

Sorry but I am not that gullible.  It's very easy to fake a bet, want to see my 10 billion dollar winner on Phillies? lol

If there's a way(as you say it), then he would be grinding it instead of faking it here and trying to lure people Smiley

His questions about loan is an act, where he pretends that he has a genuine "doubt" whilst passively providing the information that he may have access to "fixed matches" and even providing his contact details in the OP(when there was no need for it) LMAO
This IS a scam. And whoever supports this guy is probably his alt or in cahoots or plain stupid.

Hey guys,

Anyone following the CS:GO qualifier matches?
https://www.hltv.org/news/34398/live-first-upset-occurs-as-road-to-rio-european-open-qualifier-continues

We have some big names here like Movistar, sprout, Mouz, Astralis, etc trying to qualify for the upcoming major!
No upset until now, except for Skade(probably fixed the loss for lunch money lol).

Most of the books are offering market on live matches only, so you won't find the matches in upcoming or events section Smiley
123  Economy / Economics / Re: Tips to save my finances, to grow personal economy on: August 14, 2022, 10:01:54 PM
While these points may help you save a pennies on a dollar but in the long run you need to invest some of it . Like investing in Mutual funds, ETFs, Index funds, etc

Before you get into them, you should dedicate a good amount of time to understand what "investment" really means and only then will you be able to comprehend the associated risks. Start small but don't waste time.  Just don't think of crypto as reliable investment options in today's market Smiley Check out this sub too https://www.reddit.com/r/Bogleheads/

Look into various reliable funds in your country too. And buy a good health plan with life policy(IF you a plan to have kids or already have).

Good luck!

125  Local / India / Re: WazirX Founder & Co-founder have moved out of India? on: August 14, 2022, 09:46:08 PM
Nischal Shetty founder of India's biggest crypto exchange and the co founder Siddharth Menon  have moved to Dubai with their families as per this article, which stated that they might have taken this decision due to the new tax law. The CFO is still present in India and both offices in Mumbai and Bangalore are still open. The article doesn't guarantee this news but only state this information was  acquired by credible sources. I have checked Nischal Shetty's twitter, where he is very active but I don't see anything which states he has shifted to Dubai.

Do you guys think this information is correct and do you also think that WazirX might shift it's base to Dubai?
Dubai = Tax haven. They are definitely hiding something and probably involved in tax evasion. No innocent person moves to Dubai when money is involved  Smiley

They had been purchasing Cryptos for cheap in bulk from China and US, & selling them in Indian market. They definitely broke the FEMA law while doing so, and will soon be wanted by the police for the same Wink Crime always pays with punishment :p
Binance was financing most of its operations, which won't help their case either. It's end days of wazirx. Make sure to withdraw your balance guys(Golden rule: never keep cryptos in an exchange)
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff’s Bank Set To Be Liquidated; Will He Finally Turn To Bitcoin (BTC)? on: August 14, 2022, 09:29:02 PM
isn't this like very old new? It has been more than a month since this happened and he's still anti-bitcoin.

Just yesterday he declared current bull run as "sucker rally" and predicts a downfall to 10K USD very soon. He believes bitcoin is entering into another bubble and it won't hold for long. So the answer to your question is a hard NO.

He isn't going to turn that easily. He finds Gold reaching 10k more believable than BTC ever having a chance again to cross 50k.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US government is targeting mixers. Are BTC mixers next? on: August 14, 2022, 09:16:58 PM

it lists
"whether it uses mainnet or the use of embedded layering or other scaling
solutions), or the additional services that the platform potentially incorporates
(such as a mixer or tumbler or other potential features for obfuscation)"

so thats not only moero, liquid, but LN and mixers, and tumblers. and other things too

Yea, that's everything. Not just LN or monero. You can literally pick any coin and find a way to fit that definition.

According to your shitty source,
Being anonymous=being criminal. How about they prosecute all cash spenders and Vanila gift card holders too? Since these modes of payment "enhances" anonymity.

Like I said, you know shit about money laundering. It's a process of cleaning your dirty money. If I want to hide my spendings, it doesn't make my money dirty. There's no logic here  Lips sealed
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The implications of cryptocurrency on the global economy on: August 14, 2022, 08:57:39 PM
I will be assuming that you are talking about legalization of bitcoin and other shitcoins in today's economic world.

Economy will become more globalized. It will be easier to perform cross-border transactions and trades. Which will create an influx of new investments. This could go either way,  but if such cross-border investments with cryptos are done in a controlled and regulated manner then it will be very positive.

On a domestic level, monetary policies will become redundant due to free flowing nature and volatility of cryptos. It will have a huge impact on everything. So it's not going to happen unless the state can at least control the supply of cryptos and have an influence over its price. These two conditions have to be met, before they even think about legalizing it.

A stable implementation of cryptocurrency will increase the participation. Which means more money to invest in new businesses, which means more jobs, which means more spending, which means booming economy  Smiley
This is an ideal case, i.e. the cryptos were integrated in a very controlled fashion into the system and citizens are smart enough to access its potential. Otherwise it will be a disaster.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Myths that we often hear on: August 14, 2022, 08:38:48 PM
In which part of the world do following myths exist lol

Quote
Myth 1: Gambling Isn’t Addictive
>> Fact: Gambling is designed to be addictive.

Myth 4: If You Can Afford It, Compulsive Gambling Isn’t Really a Problem.
>> Fact: Compulsive gambling is a symptom of underlying emotional and coping problems.

Myth 10: Teens Don’t Gamble, Only Older People Gamble
>> Fact: Gambling is a bigger problem among teens than it is in adults.

So I checked the source, and it's a rehabilitation biz. Totally biased source.

Everyone is aware about gambling's addictive nature Smiley

The only myth, which I believe truly exist almost everywhere is this:
House always wins

That's not always the case. Many gambling houses and website have gone bankrupt. Some simply can't handle the strain of big whales or sophisticated cheaters.
The house does have a very good chance of beating you and the ground is skewed to favour the house as well.
But you can still beat the house without breaking any of their terms(or cheating) either Smiley
Example: Arbitrage betting, looking for undervalued markets(they usually appear when the market opens  and doesn't stay for long), removing emotion out of your gambling(toughest part).

The thing is, most of the people are stupid with no conceptual understanding of probability and arithmetic  Smiley This is why "usually" wins.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet (UPDATE) + fixed match on: August 14, 2022, 08:26:19 PM
OP has included his telegram in the post. Why would any normal poster do that??

This seems like an elaborate attempt, to seem like someone who has access to "fixed" matches and will probably scam you of your money. Anyhow, betting on such matches will endanger your account and you will be at the risk of losing your initial deposit as well due to suspension.

131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese Animation Slot Machines on: August 13, 2022, 06:22:42 PM
It's Magi from Madkoa magica! I have seen this anime lol
Not a good idea imo, animes are meant for kids and teenagers(if you are an adult and still watching animes then get a life). In a way they are targeting minors with their slot with such aesthetics.

What's wrong with adults watching anime?  There are serious-themed anime, and many adults today that were young back then were a fan of DBZ, Ghost fighter, Slamdunk, etc. Anime are for people who love Japanese-style animation regardless of age bracket. Besides, anime targets adults and kids alike.
Quote

a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children.

I do not know what is your problem with Japanese-themed animation, if you don't like it leave it be, but respect people who choose it over western style cartoons.

Nothing wrong with liking animes. I used to like them too but I outgrew them long ago.

It's not a secret that target audience for animes and mangas are school kids. This is why I was being contemptuous. Kids and gambling should be as far away as possible.
They can't make the right decision at such young age, only we can protect them from such vices(gambling) Smiley
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 13, 2022, 06:16:22 PM
You guys should check out this twitter account
https://twitter.com/MatchPo1ntBets

He has been on fire lately. 20-5 record on tennis picks lately. I don't bet anympre but I am still following this guy and came across his latest record. It's remarkable imo

What do you guys think of him? Is it a lucky streak?
Tennis has always been unpreditable for me. I can't be not impressed by this record.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 13, 2022, 06:09:36 PM
There's a weird one-day CS:GO tourney tomorrow (https://www.hltv.org/events/6723/steelseries-nova-invitational-2022) with Faze and OG as one of the attendees. Never seen a tourney like this before.
Anyways, I am lowkey excited about it. Been a long time since we had any real CS:GO match(tired of watching academy newbs).

First match is a bo1 of faze vs tricked. Ez faze ig but odds are shit. Any sensible better will skip since it's a bo1 too. Whereas second match(OG vs sinners) will be more interesting imo, and sinners +7.5 handicap won't actually be a bad bet. NFA DYOR BOL!

As I read this message, the match was being played live. An interesting tournament, Faze and OG are playing in the final, I came across the first map and Cache is being played. I didn't know if the cache was still in the map pool or if it was chosen specifically for this tournament. As you said, we were tired of watching academy teams, this tournament was good for today.
OG and faze final was predictable but Faze's first match againt tricked did get close .

The second match between OG and Sinners went as expected. If someone read my post and took the habdicap on sinners then congrats :p

2-0 was expected from the final. Overall, it was a boring torunament with no upsets.

Next event on the calendar is Blast, which starts from 19th. Got 7 days of nothing from now for good CS T.T
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US government is targeting mixers. Are BTC mixers next? on: August 12, 2022, 10:40:53 PM
The Tornado Cash developer was just arrested. This feels like the beginning of the fight against mixers to me. I know if I was one of the chipmixer devs I’d be a bit concerned at the moment. Event those advertising for the obviously illegal money laundering service might be wise to take a step back before they get caught up in this. I wonder how long this fight against anonymous coins will continue and what the next attack vector will be.
Imagine being arrested for developing an open source code  Smiley
I am 100% certain that they will make exchanges drop Monero from supported coins pretty soon. But where will they stop? Will they ban bridge swaps too?

it will just make bitcoin less used.
and yep thats what the silly idiots want. bitcoin to be less used.
their premise of the certain group of the same dozen idiots.. is to try to tarnish bitcoins natural utility of just transacting daily and normally.. to try to BS the community into fearing using bitcoin normally. scaring people into thinking bitcoin is not fit for purpose. and then advertising to scared people that they would be better off using another middleman service or altnet instead.. even when its the very same service or altnet which they advertise  is the cause where normal people would get red flagged
Are you targeting LN? You certainly are the village idiot lol

no where on a bitcoin blockchain will you find a note inside a tx that tells everyone what product you bought that day.

Are you living in 2010? Ever heard of chain analysis and address labelling? You are delusional bro.

Quote
but idiots want you to believe that bank notes do tell governments this so people need to use a casino to mix their bank notes..
Now I am convinced, that you are definitely a troll lol
You are talking about money laundering in a condescending manner when you don't know jack about it.

Reminds me of Twitch streamers pushing slots to kids, same concept different execution.
I am guessing this is in Akihabara, place for adult no lifers who are addicted to anime girl pillows as well. If yes, then I will give it a pass lol Otherwise, this is not ethical.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it profitable to hedge/cashout bets before end of sport event? on: August 12, 2022, 10:11:36 PM
It's situational. If you are a long time gambler, then you have to set aside emotions and think statistically. Else you will end up broke and probably lose your home :p  On the other hand, if you are a one-time gambler, and in it for fun on weekend ball games then of course the answer is No. Enjoy the game and your fiverr on Mets.

Seasoned bettors should always hedge if it's turning a profit. I also recommend following other methods like Unit system(limiting your bets to 1 unit, usually 1 unit= 1% of the entire bankroll), spreadsheet to keep a record of your bets, look for arbitrage(follow oddsjam or look for it on your own).
Good luck!

Unfortunately I couldn't put my artistic skills(I have none, I will have to learn lol) to test this time. Hopefully there will be another contest in next season! Really want to learn how to create a pixel GIF art  Cheesy

franky1 to me seems to be the stereotypical forum contrarian personality type.

Every forum has at least one famous contrarian...

Reminds me of this skit by Monty Python lol
https://www.snotr.com/video/7882/Monty_Python_-_Village_Idiots

What are the chances of coinjoin and chipmixer getting in their scope? No service can judge a user and their intention for using their mixer.
It's a good question for sure and am only getting this news just now.
Like, what really is the stand of the US government to have taken it up with the company. Its not like all users use the services of mixers for fraudulent intent but at most, users use them to ensure privacy and a very discrete transaction.

governments were not directly targetting mixers as it was delegated down to exchanges to blacklist and target mixers
and to put users of mixers onto watchlists and investigate and report users to the government
(standard MSB policy handbook of assigning risk to certain activities of suspicion of money laundering)

but when big deals of large illicit amounts are involved. then the government intervenes directly
Imagine shilling for the government.
There are plenty of ways to launder crypto, this solves nothing.
How about targeting actual criminals and fixing domestic flaws in the system which are exploited by bad actors?
140  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake and odd provider's limits !!!!!! on: August 11, 2022, 07:52:34 PM
had a similar situation with sportsbet.io (odds automatically lowered for my account, banned from some promotions) and they haven't gone backwards since  (more than 8 months).
I had a similar experience, they blocked me from most of their promos(even though I wasn't using any promo in the past, noticed it when I was logged out and they had active promos which I couldn't see when I was logged in lol). That's when I made a switch to some other book because didn't feel respected enough ig

As for Stake, I haven't personally been blocked from any promo or got limited even when I was in good profit for two straight months(albeit it was almost a year ago  Huh ).
You aren't in much profit either(sorry but a profit of 700 USD isn't reason enough to get personal for a book like Stake imo). But would like to give you benefit of the doubt. Please share some screenshot if you can.
By any chance do you bet on tennis a lot?(have seen a few accounts get in trouble for betting on tennis ~ probably courtsiding or fixed matches).
