21  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $50,000 be the resistant price? on: September 03, 2021, 01:56:53 AM
For sure seems like it.

However I am not that fussed about it. It's just going to be another short term resistance that we will break through sooner or later.

I think that there is still a bit of gas left in the tank for this bull run to continue despite the popular sentiment that this is the beginning of the end for the 2020-21 bull cycle.

Just keep on holding for the long term, dollar cost average, and you'll be rewarded handsomely.
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spain bans betting adds - no celebrities, no sport sponsorship, no daytime adds on: September 02, 2021, 04:18:49 AM
Damn, that really sucks.

I personally don't see why they would do such a thing given that it is integral to the team's businesses and will probably ruin them financially.

But I guess that the government generally has their own agenda when it comes to regulating the sportsbetting industry and protecting consumer rights, which is fair enough. I don't think that other countries should follow suit though.
23  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Twitter seems likely to integrate tipping using Bitcoin. on: September 02, 2021, 03:53:46 AM
It sure seems like they're going to require KYC/AML. And while it sucks for sure, can we really blame them? It's highly like that Twitter allowing non-KYC money sending(even if it's just a front-end UI thing, not necessarily them facilitating the transactions) is just going to get themselves in trouble with the government.

In the end, while again— it sucks, this is still in no doubt positive in my book.

Agreed.

Regardless of how you look at it though this can't be bad news. KYC is totally expected with a company of this size.

Certainly will showcase to the world the potential that bitcoin has as a means of payment as well as a store of value, I think. These high profile endorsements of blockchain technology are certainly for the better.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card bans introduced in Ireland. on: September 02, 2021, 03:29:53 AM
Great initiative I think.

Credit cards are one of the things which no one really likes. The regulators probably see it as a nuisance and one of the gateways to problem gambling, and the merchants themselves see it as a risky payment method that is prone to chargebacks.

Can't complain about the decision.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google bans 8 crypto apps on: September 02, 2021, 03:19:21 AM
Good riddance I'd say.

There are simply too many illegitimate crypto apps that are ruining the reputation of crypto in general. I think that it is far better to have some sort of content moderation there than none at all.

As long as there is no active censorship without reason I think that there shouldn't be any issues.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a possibility of a Country to ban access to Crypto games? on: August 26, 2021, 01:39:25 AM
Right now, Government of my country is in a process of trying to track players/account holders of a one crypto game to ask for tax because of fast and good earning rate, and I think it's not possible. So in my conclusion if they can't tracked players, is there a possibility of a country to ban this NFT game? I want to know everyone's opinion.

Thing is though, what are they going to do to enforce the ban?

I don't think that there is really much to be honest. It's a decentralized game and perhaps they could remove the game app from the appstore or block the website, but a quick and simple VPN would get over that hump.

Don't worry too much about this. People have been calling a worldwide crypto ban for years now.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esport Gambling with Crypto. on: August 25, 2021, 11:50:58 PM
Poker, Dice betting, and Casino games are in the gambling market for a long time but when do you think Esport betting such as  League of Legends and Dota became popular.

League of legends especially..., was released in 2009 the same year bitcoin was released in both are different but have progressed a lot finance-wise.

Do you think Esports betting has a good scope in the future where most of the teens are getting into games like LoL and world of warcraft, Dota, etc?
Even if they don't hear this in ads they will most likely hear it from their in-game teammates.

I actually think that it's a matter of time before esports is the new dominant category in the sportsbetting industry.

Traditional sports are simply not as exciting to the new generations anymore, and people are able to be more hands on with esports as they can take part with greater ease compared to traditional sports which require significant equipment needs.

Definitely an area that sportsbooks need to capitalize on right now. Competition is scarce as well since most of the crypto esportsbooks have very low limits.

it is off topic, after all. but i agree with jet cash, most of these discussions are not original, or fun, or have any content whatsoever.
31  Other / Meta / Re: Mod, please check new plagiarism: Reporting copy/pasting, please permban on: June 23, 2018, 12:12:04 AM
Thanks for doing this. The forum is a much better place without all these plagiarizers.

most of these people probably can't speak english fluently and still want to benefit from their campaigns or whatnot.
32  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: YOBIT delaying transaction to profit from POS interest - on: June 23, 2018, 12:10:20 AM
yobit does this all the time. i don't think that it would come as a surprise to anyone, if they are benefiting from POS interest and not declaring that to the customer/not compensating customers for holding their funds when pos interest was earned.
33  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinect.com (ICO) - The Master of Illusions and Misleading Advertising on: June 23, 2018, 12:08:14 AM
Saw this ICO myself. If 48% profits aren't enough to convince someone that it's a scam, then they shouldn't be looking to invest in anything.
34  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you miss? as a service. on: May 24, 2018, 02:15:28 AM
Bitmixer. Was one of the best mixers around and sad it shut down.

Agreed. It was an extremely good service while it lasted, but it got shut down from regulatory pressures.

Although with the emerging mixers in Chipmixer, bitblender and Privcoin, it's not really that huge of a deal tbh.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know fake Airdrop project on: November 19, 2017, 06:30:54 AM
Hello guys am a newbie how can i know if an airdrop is real or fake
If someone says the usual stuff about their project, like it being the future of cryptocurrencies or whatever with absolutely no basis then they are definitely a scam. I mean you can't really lose money participating in airdrops but you'll definitely lose money if you get convinced to invest.

Never, ever invest any money in airdrops.

And it's probably never a good idea to participate in one, unless it legitimately has good ideas behind it.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $1k investment. which cheap $0-$10 Alts should I invest in for long-term? on: November 19, 2017, 06:14:29 AM
Hi guys, I just recently got interested in crypto currency and I'm hoping to get some opinions on which Altcoins between $0-10 that I should invest in. I see a lot of news related to NEO recently and I really want to invest in it, but with the price being so high right now ($43), I would get only 23-24 coins so I want to invest my money in something that is cheaper and higher quantity that could potentially become 40-50 bucks in the next 5 years. Here's what I'm considering right now:
REQ - $.04
VTC - $4.35
OMG - $7.93
WAVES - $5.28
SYS - $.21
LINK - $.17

any thoughts are appreciated!

Iota, EOS and SIA.

Honestly the price of a coin does not matter as much as how much the market capitalization and the community of the coin is at. If the coin is dirt cheap but has a high market cap that is unlikely to go up further, then it probably won't. Ripple is an example of this.

Iota could really make an impact on the crypto market, once it breaks the $1 level.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Portfolio Tracker on: November 19, 2017, 05:49:53 AM
Could anyone recommend an online portfolio tracker for the many cryptos?  Something that lets you enter your buy prices/tracks your profit/loss on a real time basis?  If they also had a mobile app, would be amazing!

i would recommend blockfolio with my personal experience.

It's probably the most robust app that you'll get. However if you want something that has a website and can be accessed from there, go with cryptocompare. Simply can't go wrong with them but blockfolio's still the king.

I used to think Blockfolio was a really good portfolio tracker, until I realized the company was using user portoflios to manipulate the market. I don't know where I read it anymore but you should be able to find it with a quick google search. I now use tabtrader instead. They have a mobile app too.

Well, any app you use have the rights to use customer data to do whatever they want. It's not just blockfolio.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ethereum platinum worth investing in? on: November 19, 2017, 05:35:01 AM
Hi guys.  I heard about a coin called ethereum platinum, is it worth investing in?
Will it actually be worth it or not?

I don't think that it's going to make such big of an impact.

They basically are stealing money from the ethereum brand right now. Other than that apart from having a bit better transaction rate and all that which can be topped by other wallets anyways, there is nothing special at least in my opinion.

Could prove to just be a pump and dump coin with no apparent future.
