22  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank Crisis Hits India, Many Accounts Wiped Out, People Left With Nothing on: October 09, 2019, 05:34:16 PM
This is really a sad and uncalled miss happening in India where the banking sector has been witnessing worse things by the day over the last couple of years. The Reserve Bank of India kind of needs to be held accountable here too as they could've prevented this if they took the right actions when signs of a scandal like this seemed likely.

Then again, giving ₹25,000 as compensation is like throwing a nickel into a beggar's bowl which already had $5000+ stolen off of. I really hope these woes end with the accused on the run being put behind bars and the rightful people getting their monies back.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany VS Argentina, International Friendly Match on: October 09, 2019, 05:23:45 PM
The outcome of this fixture entirely comes down to the playing XI fielded by each team. While I give the roster depth edge to Germany, the Argentines are never short of talent pool to showcase. Although highly unlikely, lets hope both countries put forward their best rosters and it is surely bound to be a close encounter!
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IKEA Accepts Ethereum tech! on: October 04, 2019, 05:38:47 PM
Great news not only for the crypto community but also for the likes of the furniture industry as well. This will certainly push competitors to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment option. Further, a boost to the Ethereum market which has been seeing ups and downs wouldn't be such a bad thing either.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee To Launch New Decentralized Exchange – McAfeeDex on: October 04, 2019, 04:29:51 PM
Well!! popular crypto expert john mcafee decided to launch a decentralised Exchange McAfeeDex.

What's your take on this?

Good lord, the guy is back at it again and this time with a decentralized exchange? The last time I heard, he had been taken into a CIA safe house and was interrogated for his connections and involvement in things beyond his reach.
Either ways, the words coming from this guy should be treated as seriously as his altcoin predictions - just don't listen to the goddamn guy.
26  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Why do whales move Bitcoin around from wallet to wallet? on: September 29, 2019, 03:44:42 PM
Are they splitting the coin up into smaller wallets so they do not keep all their eggs in one basket?  Any other reasons why?

There is a wide possible range of speculations that we can make when it comes to why whales move their coins around. Firstly, with whales being whales, it could be an attempt at market manipulation, trying to cause some FUDs when big amounts are seen moving on the blockchain. Secondly, although unclear, it could also be a result of coin tumbling, which the big traders use to get their hands on untraceable coins.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Capacity to Kill Bitcoin! on: September 29, 2019, 03:11:40 PM
- New people discovering Bitcoin - fear and greed

Don't see anything with regards to fear but it seems more like an ever-growing, new investment opportunity with very little risk on the longer run. Greed on the other hand comes to bite new adopters with no market knowledge about day trading.

- Congressman claims the US has no capacity to Kill Bitcoin!

What has the United States not tried to control over the last few decades? - Nothing. They seem to be focused on bringing regulatory norms which would forcibly dethrone Bitcoin from the top and introduce some or the other sort of anarchic systme to replace it.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: David Marcus, Coinbase CEO show supports for Facebook Libra on: September 29, 2019, 02:04:42 PM
Wouldn't be surprised if Facebook is up to no good again and paying many of these aggregators to hype up their Libra coin. With problems regarding regulatory concerns in different parts of the world, all they can do is wait and hope that all norms are fulfilled before release and in the meantime they can create some buzz going in the top news sections.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More Money,More Problems:Can We Really Trust Facebook to “Fix” Digital Currency? on: September 28, 2019, 04:42:54 PM
More Money,More Problems:Can We Really Trust Facebook to “Fix” Digital Currency?

Facebook itself has been going through a lot of controversies over various issues which include user privacy and a lot of other policies. With that said, they should be looking to fix their current system before diving into a much bigger venture.

What did you think about Facebook coin did you think it's our next digital currency

It sure will cause a lot of hype as Facebook is a big corporate and a token under their name would be a huge deal. Depending on how they deal with the present situation of the cryptocurrency scene and what model they choose, it could be a hit or miss.
30  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela's central bank is holding Cryptocurrency! on: September 28, 2019, 03:42:24 PM
According to the latest information from Bitcoin.com

A source would've been great but as it stands, there are multiple national banks around the world which are holding onto cryptocurrencies. This might not be evident on the surface level but digging deep, there seems to be a direct or indirect link between the huge amount of funds and big banks being associated with it.

Coming down to the case of Venezuela, the country has been undergoing hyperinflation for a few years now and with an unstable government, the door to all sorts of corruption is open which could include laundering money through crypto via the central bank.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NASA to Launch Bitcoin to the Moon? on: September 28, 2019, 03:26:37 PM
There is no explanation given as to why experience with cryptocurrency is beneficial for the work at JPL but you can have fun speculating. Maybe NASA is looking for ways to develop a new economy for an independent Mars colony, launch an ICO to fund a moon base, or even find a way to trade with space aliens. It could also just be a way to signal to potential applicants that it is looking for people that really love to dive into deep technological and mathematical concepts.

Good load of thought process by whoever wrote the original article as we could possibly be entering a future where one or more of the above mentioned theories could actually be a reality. Imagine a mining farm on Venus which is powered by heat and the amount of sustainability it would offer. A quick thought about the space industry with emergence of private agencies like SpaceX also plays a pivotal role in making these happen.

As for the job, it indeed is a great opportunity for a blockchain/crypto developer to work with the highest degree of sophistication at his/her disposal.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloudmining experience on: September 28, 2019, 03:14:23 PM
In 2017 i decided to give cloud mining a try and i did get to follow the best ones back then and the following are the ones that were very good until they stopped working excluding minergate and nicehash.

Back then, cloud mining was a very hot prospect with respect to Bitcoin especially when the block reward was much more than what it is today. Although there were quite a bit of fake cloud mining sites as well but it was pretty easy to distinguish between them as payouts would be shown in a couple of weeks and investing beforehand was always deemed risky.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big drop in hashrate on: September 27, 2019, 07:28:01 PM
With all the news of Bitcoin mining farms turning unprofitable due to the much reduced block rewards, it does not come in as a big surprise that this drop could have been due to one or more associated farms shutting down operations.

For the greater good, lets hope it was more of a prolonged maintenance break rather than a complete shut down since this is a major decrease in the hash rate all things considered.
34  Economy / Economics / Re: K-POP Company owners are joining the train hype of Cryptocurrency on: September 27, 2019, 06:35:49 PM
K-Pop is a massive industry in itself, which surely has its own ordeals. While this doesn't come in as a major surprise, it feels a bit late if we have a look at all the other parallel industries coming into the blockchain/crypto buzz. Maybe they should've stuck to using an existing blockchain like ETH and created a an ERC token instead of having to invest a lot of fortune for creating their own blockchain.
Either ways, only time will tell of what will happen down the road and for the best of the K-Pop industry, it better turn out to be good.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China tokenizing their currency a good idea i think on: September 27, 2019, 06:23:53 PM
China as a country is known to have a different approach to the usual systems. For instance, the social credit thing is something unique and done rightly on the highest levels. Wouldn't be surprised if the Chinese government bridges the social credit thingy with the tokenized currencies in this case and possibly rewards/penalties would be direct deductions from the same platform. All in all, China is pushing to get its own currency buzzing in this ever-growing cryptocurrency world.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF Trump via Executive Order Banned Bitcoin, what are consequences if any? on: September 14, 2019, 06:02:48 PM
Although renowned to be a madman in this age, I seriously doubt Trump would do something as stupid as banning Bitcoin in the States. First up, it's literally more taxes so it benefits the government and secondly, there's absolutely no harm in using it.
With that said, if he actually does it like an actual madlad, the markets would come crashing down like a house of cards and the recovery period would be 6+ months with a bearish market.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao has own cryptocurrency called Pac on: September 14, 2019, 12:22:15 PM
Do you think such would ever go anywhere? Who wants to invest in a Cryptocurrency that is owned by one individual? Curious to see how the general public would look at it, coming from a sports personality who probably knows very little about the workings of blockchain.

The only reason anyone would even consider buying this is if they are interesting in buying his merchandise/goodies. Probably going to get a discount for paying through the token in their gateway.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Mystery Person Just moved $1B worth of Bitcoin on: September 14, 2019, 10:43:51 AM
This seems to be a blue whale among all the other whales in the ocean. Techincally, a fiat transaction this big wouldn't have even be possible as it would have needed to go through 101 checks and regulations. On the other hand, the fear that this might be an early adopter trying to cash in to fiat is entirely plausible and might cause a hefty fluctuation in the current prices.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Blockchain trigger a massive boost in our economy? on: September 14, 2019, 10:32:36 AM
Entirely depends on the country in consideration as something new coming into the economy means more taxes for the government directly or indirectly. As crypto holdings is considered as an investment and is always on the rising side of things, it does seem to be a boost for more economies around the world, just their citizens holding onto cryptos.
