21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more visible in the forum as a beginner on: May 12, 2024, 12:20:58 PM
That's true but most of the times those newbies aren't newbies in real but the ones with alt accounts who want to earn extra money having multiple ranked accounts.

There are many account farmers who always try to rank up their accounts so they can start earning from this forum.

I know some newbies are also referred to this forum by the ones who are ranked members but in most cases those newbies are alt accounts that want to earn merits in short time.

You are right, but I was referring to actual newbies who don't know anything at all about forums or even the cryptocurrency market in general and not those who represent themselves as newbies but aren't newbies in reality.

Many newbies who might not even have any interest in Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, in general, are referred to this forum by either their friends or relatives by telling them that they can earn money from here, and when they hear about money and earning, they make their accounts and start their journey and start asking extremely basic questions both about this forum and the market.

People who aren't honest and sincere and may lie about them being newbies but they don't usually tend to know a lot of things, about this forum and the market and you will see them making good posts and using forum methods and features that a newbie wouldn't know.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What motivated you to join the forum? on: May 12, 2024, 11:59:11 AM
This forum has helped many individuals believe that bitcoin is the best investment to do and be profitable, allowing many people to achieve their goals.

Not sure about the goals and achievement thing, but one thing is for sure, this forum is undoubtedly the best place for one to learn about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies within the industry and to stay updated about things that are happening around the cryptocurrency sphere.

On a lot of occasions, you would read things on this forum before you get to read them from somewhere else such as good or bad news, updates, network upgrades, forks, halvings, and anything else that I didn't mention. So if a person is actively visiting the forum, they don't need to watch the news or anything because they will see and hear everything from here. On rare occasions, one might come across topics and stuff that they might need to search about to understand the actual context but that isn't always the case.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2024, 04:38:49 AM
To me i think there are some part of the world that still don't know anything about Bitcoin, because there are people in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, China, etc. even in Nigeria there are people that don't know anything about Bitcoin, they always think that Bitcoin is a scam, but people that know about it are making thousand of Dollars,($) I think they don't know that we are in a digital world now.

There are some parts of the world where people are dying of hunger, some have never seen an electronic device throughout their lives, and a very large percentage don't have access to electronic devices or the internet, even among those who have mobile phones and have access to the internet, a lot of them don't know much about what's happening around the world because all they know or care about are using social media platforms to see reels and watch pictures and videos people are posting.

People from developed countries are mostly aware of such things because the rate of literacy is higher in those countries. Most people have basic education and have access to basic facilities such as electronic devices and the internet, so they usually stay updated with what's happening around the world or even within the internet universe unlike those who live in developing or third-world countries where mostly large percentages of the population lacks basic education and when that is the case, you can expect them to not know a lot of things including Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please, I urge you to buy bitcoin! on: May 12, 2024, 04:17:36 AM
Decentralization doesn't inherently guarantee freedom; it's a nuanced concept. While Bitcoin offers decentralization, control over mining power and major exchanges can still influence its direction.

That's not true. There is a difference between manipulation and control because a lot of times, one can manipulate something without having control of it. While it's true that if an individual or an entity manages to gain access to over 51% of the total mining power, they can manipulate blocks, do double spends, etc., that doesn't give them control of the network or the price but it will eventually destroy everything if they keep misusing their powers. So I don't call that control because it isn't controlling if you aren't able to use the powers you have acquired.

Talking about exchanges, they don't have any power to direct the price or the network no matter how many coins they have under their hands. Having a large amount of Bitcoins might make you able to manipulate the price a little bit by creating buying and selling walls in the market but that doesn't give you complete control.

The decentralization of Bitcoin is mainly about it not being managed by a single entity which is true and will always be.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt Management. on: May 11, 2024, 10:39:56 AM
Your naratives are short sighted and you have failed to understood my point I was only trying to say that out of 100 percent of people that took loan in real life 80 percent made success from it , you don't have to be in a hurry to forget that it will take the man a more longer period of time before saving up to build the house and their must be an increase in the cost of material goods for the building as per how long it could have took the man to build that house it is a good that he is paying back it will only take time  but definitely he is going completely paying his debt and the reason why he took the laon was accomplished, any ways taken loan is not for everybody it is only for the large hearted who are much ready enough to do that. Any one can do whatever they like.

Home loans and other loans taken for personal lifestyle growth can be beneficial just like how you described it because the prices of properties or material goods tend to increase over time due to inflation, and a loan can save you from that as you get to own your house, car, or anything you are taking the loan for. However, managing these loans is way more difficult than a lot of people might think.

If someone is using an official channel for the loan such as a bank, they will need to be a salaried person or a business owner. Banks don't give loans to people having no proper source of income which is better because those who aren't earning money or have any job or business would barely be able to manage debts in a good way because they won't be able to repay them on time.

So even if such a person wants to own a house to get rid of rent, have a car to drive around without any hassle, or get something that they need in their life, loans aren't the way for them to go because they will first need to build the base to be able to make use of this feature towards upgradation.
26  Other / Off-topic / Re: Voting for signature campaign participants: how do you manage the received BTC? on: May 11, 2024, 09:23:56 AM
I'm not a very big fan of altcoins apart from a few that are usually on top of the list of cryptocurrencies but from an investor's point of view, I would rather keep holding Bitcoin instead of converting it to altcoins.

So what I do with my signature campaign earnings is convert some of it to fiat when I need funds and keep the remaining in Bitcoin, it depends on the market conditions.

If I know that the market is relatively low and it has the potential to go up from there, I will keep them in Bitcoin and wait for the pump, but if I feel that the market is pretty high and there might be a chance for a dip or a correction, I convert them to a stablecoin and then wait for the dip to buy either Bitcoin or altcoins that I like and trust.

So I check the market and how it's doing before making my decision every time.  Smiley
27  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How active can a newbie be daily? on: May 10, 2024, 08:14:54 PM
Being active means visiting the forum regularly and making posts that you know have some weight and make a difference in a topic or discussion you are reading, there is no specific amount of posts you need to make a day to be considered active.

Your growth in the forum is directly proportional to your knowledge and understanding. You don't need to be making a bunch of unsubstantial posts every day and think that you are going to grow, that is not how it works. Try to read more and write less as a beginner if you know you are not knowledgeable enough yet to be making posts where it's unnecessary.
28  Economy / Services / Re: BlackJack.Fun | Signature Campaign | Up to $90/W on: May 10, 2024, 08:05:42 PM
Why have so few applications been approved? That is, all other applications were rejected, is that right?? Do I understand correctly? It seems to me that you need to write more specifically so that it is clear to us!

What is being more specific? Do you want him to write the names of the rejected participants as well? No manager does that, if you don't believe me, open each signature campaign thread and look for the posts from the manager where he announces the accepted participants and you will only see that they mention the ones who are accepted. That's how it works, it's nothing new or surprising, I believe.  Smiley
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When is it right to invest in Bitcoin? on: May 10, 2024, 08:00:35 PM
-When is it the right time to invest in bitcon?

There is no specific time for that, it depends on your personal financial goals and targets and your investment strategy. One might invest when the market is in the bull run and still achieve their target while others might want more profit hence they invest only when the market is down.

-How can one start planning?

Once it is decided that you will make an investment, start gaining knowledge first, and once you are done with that and you think you are ready to go with it, that's when you can start planning your investment strategy.

-How do you follow up your bitcoin investment and other businesses?

There is no rocket science in that, just keep your assets safe and keep an eye on the market and its movements.

-What are the assurance that you are ready?

When you have a budget that you can allocate to the investment and have enough knowledge to know and understand everything including the risks.  Smiley
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your top mistakes in crypto - learning from others experiences! on: May 10, 2024, 04:28:04 PM
As far as I can think, I believe FOMOing into an altcoin was the biggest mistake I made in my journey because it cost me a lot of money. I wasn't a complete newbie but I wasn't too experienced as well.

So one day when I was checking the market, I noticed that a coin within the gainers list has gone pretty high and it's still going, getting greedy seeing that, I FOMOed and made an entry, and guess what? The price started dropping significantly right after that.  Grin

I waited too long for it to recover, but it didn't, and I knew it's not worth it anymore, so I sold them at a loss.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a core subject in our schools - Good or bad idea? on: May 10, 2024, 11:32:31 AM
I don't think that is necessary at all, after all, school is a place for children to build their bases for what they will do in the future, and Bitcoin as a core subject will be totally irrelevant. Investment assets or technological advancements aren't things to be taught to children in school, as said by some other members, it's better if they are taught basic economics and the basics of financial management, etc. With that, they can grasp the idea of how they can manage their finances when they grow up, and it should only be very basic to not cloud their minds and make them confused.

Making Bitcoin a core subject would take it too far and I find that to be completely unnecessary. Let children grow up before introducing them to things that they wouldn't be using at that age, teaching them about Bitcoin wouldn't make much sense because when they grow up, if they have any interest in such things, they can always learn about them, but at school level, they are supposed to be learning things that they are going to need in the near future.  Smiley
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Post halving, why are altcoins the most affected on: May 09, 2024, 08:56:30 PM
This is why Bitcoin is called the "mother of cryptocurrencies". Bitcoin reflects how investors behave in managing their money in crypto. And Bitcoin also affects the psychology of crypto investors which will affect everyone including those who invest in altcoins. Simply put, when the price of Bitcoin goes down, people will get scared and they will sell their assets. Of course there is a scientific explanation for this but psychologically it is a reaction of the altcoin market which depends on the value of Bitcoin.

True.
Some people often say that altcoins follow the movements of Bitcoin whether it goes up or down, but they don't know how it actually works and why it happens. The reason behind altcoins following the movements of Bitcoin is that altcoin investors consider Bitcoin to be the leader of the market which is true, so when they see that there is either a correction, or some bad news circulating in the market which might affect the price of Bitcoin, they start dumping their altcoins in the fear that they might lose money if the market crashes, and when they do so, the prices of altcoins start moving along with Bitcoin.

Altcoins and their prices aren't directly connected with the price of Bitcoin, and sometimes we can see some altcoins moving independently when Bitcoin is either stagnant or moving to another direction, the reason is that people are investing in those altcoins and the demand is high, because not only Bitcoin but all cryptocurrencies go up or down based on their demand increasing or decreasing.
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a newbie make investment before learning? on: May 09, 2024, 08:40:18 PM
As on my own opinion alot of newbies have fallen in to hand of scammers because of their insufficient knowledge about Bitcoin so therefore it take a high risk to make an investment when you yet to understand the Bitcoin investment to avoid been scammed of your hard earnings
Take your time learn and implement before you inter market or make any investment as a newbie

It's obvious if you don't even know how an investment is done or how you can make investments in something, you can't do it right. Newbies who get scammed tend to invest their money in websites that use Bitcoin's name and ask people for investments and promise them high returns. Now if someone understands that investing in Bitcoin means buying Bitcoin from an exchange, they wouldn't be making such mistakes, right?

This is the reason why one needs to understand everything before they get involved in something, especially if they know there are finances involved because you can't risk your money on something that you don't even understand even if you have heard that it provides profits. So even if one is doing everything right, they still need to understand everything.  Smiley
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 13 years ago Theymos sold 160btc at $0.003 per 1, lowest price ever recorded on: May 09, 2024, 08:10:10 PM
Can you clarify in which block this transaction took place?

Why does he need to do that? And how is that relevant to what is being discussed here? He is not trying to prove a point or make a statement, it's just a generic post about old times when Bitcoin used to be worth pennies and there wasn't a need for anyone to provide the block where that transaction took place or show a receipt of the amount received by theymos for selling 160 Bitcoins.  Roll Eyes

Besides, this topic has been inactive for about a year, you didn't need to necro-bump it only to ask a question that isn't even relevant or make any sense based on the discussion. Please try to participate in threads and discussions that are currently active and haven't been inactive for so long.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $100,000 and $1,000,000 Bitcoin on: May 09, 2024, 09:28:47 AM
Cloud mining in 2024 is not possible anymore, gone are those days already, since you claimed that you are here in 2011 then you should know better, cloud mining was paying at the time and I guess that's because Bitcoin was a lot cheaper and also easier to mine.

For as long as I remember, there have been cloud mining scams in the industry and this is from the time when there used to be a few legit cloud mining services that used to be profitable for both miners and the service providers because mining difficulty used to be lower and electricity costs used to be cheaper back then, but despite all that, I still remember that scammers used to create a lot of cloud mining platforms to scam people out of their money and since it used to be a thing back then, new users used to believe in them and invest their money very easily.

It's all about awareness, and these days, since people are much more aware and understand that they can't earn money from cloud mining and that such services are nothing more than scams, one would barely show any interest in them even if a company decides to start a legit cloud mining service, they will have a hard time finding customers because of this.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What I experienced since the past two days now on: May 09, 2024, 09:22:05 AM
Let me give you some brotherly advice; Don't ever open up publicly about your involvement with cryptocurrencies because it can backfire on a lot of occasions, and besides, it is not safe at all.

You trusted the guy who was a scammer, you have been discussing Bitcoin and other stuff with him and he probably knew you were an investor and had cryptocurrencies. What if he was also a serious criminal who would do anything for money? He could rob you at gunpoint or even harm you only to get access to your funds because he knew you had them.

So, it is much better that you keep these things private and don't let anyone know about these things even if it's someone very close to you because you can't trust anyone in this world these days as you said.
37  Other / Meta / Re: How Can We Identify Someone Who Uses AI? on: May 08, 2024, 06:22:25 PM
I am not sure if all of them are AI generated, but this topic is full of crap written by newbies that are all probably controlled by one farm, same generic account names, posts generated in same style that creates fake conversation.
I don't visit jungle of altcoins section in forum so often but someone really needs to start reporting posts like this.

They are not AI-generated. Most of the altcoin projects don't spend a lot of money on their marketing campaigns for some reason known to them. They tend to hire people or maybe a single person who makes accounts or already has a bunch of accounts on different public platforms where they would shill the project. Suppose an announcement about the project is made on one of those platforms, just like the one we are discussing here. In that case, that person tends to make generic informational posts, with different accounts, about the project to keep the ANN active and make the project look active and kicking.

Look at this:

RGames is the hottest AI gaming platform where Players can participate in a variety of racing modes in R Games' racing universe, each of which offers unique challenges and rewards.

Players can improve and alter their vehicles to fit their preferred racing style thanks to the game's custom vehicle design option, which makes for a more customised racing experience.

Gamers can earn through a variety of actions, such as creating content, participating in races, or even just watching in-game events. Everyone can access R Games' Alpha edition, which offers an early look at its dynamic racing ecosystem.

The game will feature NFTs as necessary components with the release of the beta version. These components will include consumables and game assets like vehicles, which are crucial for competing in races and realising the full potential of the game.

This is indeed a dream every player will have to experience in real time on RGAMES.

This is the first post on that thread after the OP made the announcement, and the fun fact is, this was the first post of the poster in the forum and he never made any other posts after this. Are we supposed to think that it is some random guy who joined the forum out of nowhere, visited that section, opened that specific announcement, made a post containing a bunch of information about the project and vanished after it?  Roll Eyes
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do they always attack the newbies? on: May 08, 2024, 12:41:25 PM
We all started from the scratch and we're all here to learn, but their are some people that sees newbies as a disturbance to forum. I started like a newbie infact we all started like a newbie and gradually we all grow to the rank we're now. So I'll advise to those people seeing the newbies as if they're here to harm others please we're here to learn more about cryptocurrency, we all have a target on here.

As they say, the reactions of others towards you are a result of your actions. So it depends on newbies and what they do or say to deserve what they get from seniors. It might be true that some people have an aggressive way of responding to certain questions and queries, but that doesn't mean it is an attack it simply means that newbies before them have already asked the same things and they have been given the answers necessarily, so the newest newbies are supposed to be doing some research before they ask the same questions again.  Smiley

You won't believe that sometimes, newbies ask questions by creating threads that are already available on the same page they are surfing or creating their threads on. Now, in such an instance, it makes one have a bit of a harsh approach when correcting them because one shouldn't be this naive to not notice or even read what is written in front of them but instead go ahead and ask the same thing again.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 08, 2024, 11:43:35 AM
So you went ahead and gave your friend the wrong advise, huh?  Roll Eyes

When you can see that a person is getting addicted to gambling and is losing money constantly while not being able to get away from it, you are not supposed to encourage them to do that more, you are supposed to ask them to stop doing that because gambling is all about luck and if their luck isn't working, they shouldn't try hard because nothing will happen. It's not a door that is stuck and will open if you push it harder.

You shouldn't have told him that he will manage to win what he is looking to win some day because that might not happen. There are millions of gamblers in the world and I'm sure about 98% of them are gambling to hit something that will change their lives, but how many of them manage to get that? Not even 5% of the total, and that is a very low number.  Smiley
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Browsing Old Bitcoin Forums Blows My Mind on: May 08, 2024, 09:42:09 AM
There was no point for people from those times to keep holding because they didn't have a crystal ball that could tell them that Bitcoin would be worth more than $73k one day in the future, so as soon as they saw they were getting good profit, they sold their holdings, they might have regretted their decision later on but nothing could have been done.

Also, life is unpredictable and we never know when it is time for us to go, who knows whether they are all still alive or not? So this is another reason why one shouldn't hold for unnecessarily long periods when they are getting profits they are satisfied with because if you die without even having the opportunity to enjoy those profits or use them for something useful in your life, it's all a waste.
