141  Economy / Economics / Re: how to survive inflation and economy hardship on: April 13, 2024, 07:33:14 PM
Form the way I understand it, this is weakness from the manufacturers companies. Because whatever increase in the world it caused by them. It is from them that the price is of things go up to the the wholesalers and from wholesalers to the retailers and there to the consumers.

Well, it's not always like that and manufacturers don't increase the prices of their manufactured goods without any reason but they increase the prices when the cost of manufacturing increases. You need to understand that manufacturing companies have to buy goods and materials as well that they use to manufacture their products and then sell them to retailers or store owners and then those retailers and stores sell them for a higher price along with their profit and all the costs.

The reason behind the rise of inflation in a country is its bad economic conditions and economic conditions can only be improved by the government, they are the ones who need to make plans and do things that would make the economy better and more stable so that inflation within the country can reduce over time and people don't face much problems.
142  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is bitcoin a good chance for the future on: April 13, 2024, 02:12:58 PM
to tell you mate, never to invest in something that you don't understand but the problem here
we are talking about bitcoin here that even me does not even know Bitcoin when I start investing in
this coin (but lucky that a cousin and a friend vouches for this so I decided to put my money inside)
sometimes we can trust  something that we does not truly understand but some of our friends or relatives are already into it.

Whether it's Bitcoin or any other investment asset, you are not supposed to make your investment in it just because some people are vouching for it. The first thing you should do is to conduct your research and gather as much knowledge as possible about the asset you are going to make your investment in so that you understand what you are getting into. Understandably, Bitcoin is very popular and everyone would say it is the best investment asset, regardless, any investor should know enough about it before they get into it.

The knowledge that you gather will be useful for you to understand Bitcoin more closely, it will save you from things such as panic selling, becoming a victim of FUD, and selling before your target or goal out of fear that you might lose your money.

So, make sure that you make your investments only after you do your due diligence and your investment decisions shouldn't be influenced by vouches.

Correction: You have used the word 'session' in place of 'section' in your post. Please edit your post and correct the mistakes because we have sections here and not sessions.

Coming back to the topic.

Isn't it better for newbies to be mentally free from all these thoughts of where to engage and which boards or sections to ignore? One doesn't need to ignore any section or board in the forum as long as they have some knowledge about the stuff being discussed in those boards or sections, and it is not true that users would misinterpret when they see a newbie making posts in any of the sections or boards you have mentioned because for a person to know anything in general, they don't need to have a certain rank. A user might have a vast knowledge base about the cryptocurrency industry but they might have joined the forum very late, so they will have a newbie rank but they might be more knowledgeable than a lot of high-ranked members here.

146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: April 12, 2024, 05:51:27 PM
Trading is for those who have a general interest in the market and trading in general, and not for those who are in it only for the money if you are trying to become a trader just because you want to earn a lot of money and you don't have any general interest in it, you will most likely fail in it because you will have a hard time having a good grip over the things that are necessary for every trader to know, starting from the trading practices.

When you enter the market with the purpose of earning a lot of money while you have never had any interest about financial markets, your focus will not be on the market but it will be on your money and the amount of profit you can get from it, and that is a very big distraction if you ask me. You can become an efficient trader only if your focus is on the market and you are not looking at the percentage of profit that you can earn as a first thing because your first priority is to understand the market so that you can execute your trades in a good way.

If you aren't able to do that and find yourself in trouble, understand that trading isn't for you and you need to start making investments in assets that you know are good such as Bitcoin and wait to get some profit in the long run.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Excessive Bitcoin fees on: April 12, 2024, 05:12:25 PM
What makes Bitcoin Decentralized?  Nodes? Nodes are not currently making decisions about the network.  Who is?

The fact that no centralized authority or entity is controlling Bitcoin or its network makes it decentralized. Miners are the ones making decisions about the network by mining new blocks containing transactions, there is no other decision-making other than that.

What are the developers, who are making the decisions about the network(decentralized?) doing to fix this problem?  They are adding Inscriptions and Runes to the network which is increasing the size of the block and increasing fees.

Bitcoin developers are not making any decisions about the network nor can they change anything in the existing network or blockchain. They can modify it and create new versions out of it, Bitcoin Cash is an example of that among others.

How well is the network going to work with fees at $15 to $30 US dollars per transaction?

Transaction fees are not always that high, it's just sometimes when the network gets extremely congested which makes transaction fees go higher since everyone wants to have their transactions confirmed first and miners give priority to transactions with higher fees.

Bitcoin has been turned into a centralized TradFi investment for the wealthy.  The exact opposite of what it was intended to be. It was intended to be a decentralized, peer-to-peer form of electronic cash.

It was intended to be a decentralized peer-to-peer electronic cash and it is still that, what makes you think it has changed from that other than the fact that it has become extremely popular? It still works the same way it did in the beginning, there will surely be some changes when there are more users in the network.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi forces the price of bitcoin to continue to rise over time on: April 12, 2024, 12:14:02 PM
Halving is a way for satoshis to force the price of bitcoin to continue to rise over time.

There is no forcing in it, the halving, in general, has nothing to do with the price of Bitcoin, it is just that the Bitcoins that come in circulation will reduce after it, and the reason why its price goes up after each halving is that people buy more of it thinking that the price will go up, so it goes up because of that.

this weakness no longer applies because Bitcoin always has a new ATH at every halving phase that occurs.

There is absolutely no guarantee for that to happen. We think that Bitcoin will have a new all-time high after each cycle but this is just based on what we have seen in the history of Bitcoin, things can be different in the future, maybe Bitcoin will reach a price point and then drop after it and doesn't manage to go above that point next time.
149  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: One major business challenge on: April 12, 2024, 09:15:37 AM
A writing tip: You don't need to add numbering if you are going to discuss just one point. Numbers are added when there is more than one header and you separate them with numbers like 1, 2, 3, etc.

Coming back to the topic, the problem you have discussed is found mostly in third-world and developing countries. You can't see any unnecessary electricity outages in developed countries because they have all the basic amenities available at all times for all their citizen.

When we talk about running a business in a country where electricity outages are a common problem, I believe a person or a group that plans to start a business should keep this in mind beforehand and should plan their business accordingly. If I know there will be such a problem, I should evaluate all the situations after I start my business and see if I can overcome this problem and whether my budget and the revenue my business would earn can cover the costs of running electricity generators when there is no electricity available.

I should only start the business if I know it is possible for it to cover everything, and if it can't, I should look for something else to avoid facing issues.

However, governments need to tackle such issues to make their country and people live at ease.
150  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is age a limitation in Bitcoin on: April 12, 2024, 05:40:18 AM
Users should be educated about the risks and responsibilities associated with managing wallets, such as security and private key management.

This is what doesn't make cryptocurrencies suitable for people at young ages, especially if they are under 18 or aren't mature enough to understand complex things and are responsible enough to take good care of the privacy and security of their funds if they have any. Young people mostly don't care much about things they own, be it money or anything in general. It's their elders who manage and maintain everything until they reach an age where they start becoming responsible and managing everything themselves.

So if a child manages to buy some Bitcoin at the age of 16 or below after understanding it very well, I doubt they will be able to manage their funds in a good way unless they have matured at a small age and they don't like playing, enjoying themselves, and doing any other stuff that children do and not remembering much about things because if they have such habits, they wouldn't be able to manage it well, they wouldn't even be able to understand the concept if they are like this.

Jahan babar Aam ki baat ho jiey as a captain tu ajj kaal Hardik Pandya ka bohat chal raha hy social media p k woh aik acha player tu hy, but acha Captain ni  Roll Eyes

Akhir kia reason tha jo Hardik Pandya most hated player of Cricket bna betha. Reasons sab k sapne hain. Iss match India vs West Indies ye wala match tha 3rd T20, 2023. Jab India ka aik naya player 49 runs pr batting kr rha hota hai aur sirf aik run pecha hota hai tab Pandya 6 mark match hi katam kr deta hai jab k pecha 20 se bhi zada balls parhin hogyein thien.

Aur phir ODI WC, 2023, India vs Australia k match pr India ko 24 chaiye hotein hain 62 pe aur tab Hardik Pandya jan pooch kr tez kheltha hai jis ki waja se KL Rahul ki century jo sirf 3 runs re gye tha wo na mukamal re jaty hai.
India vs England, 2nd T20, 2022 k match mai field change krne par gaaliyan deta hai, Rohit Sharma ko. Phir IPL, 2023 mai apne hi best bowler Muhammad Shami ki achi effort na krne pr sare ham gaaliyan dena. Aur last wala incident jo abhi abhi IPL 2024  mai hua hai wo toh sab ko hi pata hoga.

Hardik Pandya ki agr bat ko jaye toh jo matches aur incidents aapne mention kiye hain wo sab toh tha hi lekin awam bhool b gai thi waqt k sath sath lekin abi recent jo IPL men Mumbai Indians ki captaincy se Rohit Sharma ho hata k Hardik Pandya ko jo captaincy di gai is bat ko le k usey had se ziada hate mil rha hai indian awam ki taraf se aur yeh cheez dekhne qabil hai.  Grin To be honest, Rohit Sharma deserve nai karta tha k usey captaincy se hata dia jata aur isi waja se ab Mumbai Indians jis ground men b match khelne jaye wahan sari awam Hardik Pandya ko boooo krne lag jati hai.
152  Economy / Economics / Re: Will inflation become big challenge for retired people after 10-20 years? on: April 11, 2024, 11:09:55 AM
What one does in the present will decide what kind of a future one will have regardless of inflation or any other economic and financial problem.

A lot of people don't take this seriously when they are well-off. They don't save or try to create assets when they are young earn well and have no hurdles in their way. They don't realize that their and their closed ones' future is connected to this because if they stay careless right now, times will be tough when they won't be working anymore.

So a person who has got a lot of time in hand before they retire need to make sure that they are using their money on the right places and aren't wasting it all on luxuries of life and living a great life while they can because bad financial decisions can make them suffer when they grow older.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking the Myth of Bitcoin's Use Case on: April 11, 2024, 08:33:23 AM
Exactly. That what you call 'use' is actually 'trade'. You just transfered the coin to another buyer or you were the buyer to whome the coin was transferred. None of you were 'using' the coin but just trade it. Whoever buys the coin is forced to sell it - to dump it on someone else, exactly because the coin cannot be used for anything. It's completely useless. That's the whole point demonstrated by the video.

You definitely need to get your facts checked because a lot of people around the globe are successfully using Bitcoin for a lot of things and not just buying or selling it. Some months ago, there was news that people in Argentina were using Bitcoins to buy properties. What do you call that then? Isn't that a use case? And if not, then even fiat currencies don't have any use case because if you are using fiat to buy a property, you are trading it for another item and not using it, hence no currency in the world has any use case or anything in general.

Bitcoin can be used just as any other currency in the world as long as there are people willing to accept it for goods and services, and there are some who are accepting Bitcoin which means that it does have use cases and isn't just a coin that is traded in the markets. You probably need to do more research before you reach conclusions or start making assumptions on things.

155  Other / Meta / Re: Option to Allow / Restrict merits on the OP Posts on: April 11, 2024, 06:21:12 AM
Because we don't have a limited amount of Merits available and admin refills the sMerits of merit sources every month, I don't think we need anything like that and anyone should have the right to send Merits to any post they find useful or even generally like the content of it.

This could have been useful if we had a limited amount of Merits and we had the fear of them running out eventually and those who deserve Merits and also need them would be left hanging while those who don't need them will get a bunch, however, that's not the case, and even if people who don't need Merits anymore get as many as possible, that still wouldn't make much of an issue since the supply isn't limited and new sMerits are added to the circulation every month.

157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here and wants to make some money on: April 10, 2024, 07:54:33 PM
You may be looking from the wrong forum.  The forum is not a source of income.  And it should not be considered as a source of income.  If you are good at something on the forum and can show your skills, that's a different matter.  But it's not like you'll earn millions just by coming here or there's any such source here.  You need to know the forum well first and know each board of the forum well.  Then if you can show your skills and earn money through a job that's a different matter.

Nowhere in his post, he mentioned that he wanted to earn money from this forum but it was a general statement he made and asked for help regarding what he was looking for. So I think we shouldn't assume that he was trying to say he is looking to earn money from this forum even if he meant that because he didn't mention it specifically.

Earning opportunities on this forum are limited and none of them can provide one with a consistent or stable income but they are bonuses for a person being active and contributing to the forum. Even if a person is offering some service, they can't expect to always have work because that depends on a lot of factors including their work, previous portfolio, available clients or vouches for better trustability, and a lot more.

The OP made this post on December 1st. Since then, he hasn't logged in to this forum again. Let me just assume that he has found a steady source of income that he dreams of.

We hope he did if he was really in trouble.
158  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anxiety in trading (heart disease) on: April 10, 2024, 05:51:47 PM
To be fair having this is not that uncommon. I have this too, and not just about trading, whenever it is something about money, whenever I have some trouble, I just end up making mistakes and failing to keep calm. Doesn't mean that I make mistakes, I still do what I should be doing, and even if I profit, that doesn't mean that I feel comfortable about it.

It might not be uncommon but it's something people should be concerned about. If you have a medical condition that gets worsened when you take a lot of stress whether it's because of trading or anything, you need to stop doing that thing even if you are earning money from it because money is not superior to your health. There is no point in earning money if you are then spending that money to cure your illnesses that you have got because of what you do to earn money.

It might not be concerning if it's not something severe just like you mentioned that you do feel stressed and can't stay calm in similar situations but at least it doesn't bother you much, you don't feel like have a heart disease or any other similar disease that might cause serious trouble.

Some people might not understand but such things can also be life-threatening and should be avoided at any cost.
159  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: April 10, 2024, 04:57:18 PM
If in a 3 month period I save and the savings are not disturbed then I will allocate it to invest, and then I will continue my savings and so on.

Though I understand that everyone has their ways of doing such things, I don't understand how such savings can be useful in emergencies in case you happen to face some emergency after you have invested your savings and now you have nothing left. Let's suppose you save for 3 months, you invest that money into Bitcoin, and then you face an emergency, if Bitcoin goes down after your investment, you won't be able to withdraw your investment because you will be at a loss.

This is the reason why I believe one should have separate funds for each purpose. If you can afford to do that, you should have savings funds, emergency funds, and investment funds saved separately so that you don't use your savings even for emergencies or investments and they can be used sometime in the future when you might be more vulnerable.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why not a new one? on: April 10, 2024, 03:35:36 PM
The reason why there are no competitive alternatives to Bitcoin is that there has never been one that could compete with it as a whole. A lot of projects and developers thought of creating something that could compete with Bitcoin or maybe be better than it when it comes to features such as lower transaction confirmation time, lower fees, scalability, and much more, however, if none of them could divert the attention of the world from Bitcoin towards themselves, it means they weren't better than it despite all the efforts put in by the creators.

One of the biggest reasons why alternative coins were never able to compete with Bitcoin is that they aren't truly decentralized like how Bitcoin is. There are no possible ways for anyone, even the creator, to make any changes in Bitcoin even if they want to, they can create forks, duplicate the blockchain and its features and add extra features, but their versions will not be the same as Bitcoin because they would be centralized to some extent.
