205  Economy / Reputation / Re: Where do we draw a line? Signature campaigns or shilling campaigns on: February 13, 2024, 09:17:13 AM
On reading through the post made by icopress, I then recalled a similar advice I read from a thread by CryptopreneurBrainboss some time ago
Quote
[2]: Join a campaign you agree with and not just for the payout.
The user in question is promoting/wearing a gamble related signature but speaking bad against the board isn't that contradicting what he's advertising. Join a campaign you agree with don't join just because of payouts.

[Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns.

Thank you for pointing that out and in future include the link or quote in a way people interested in reading more can get access to the thread or any other threads on the forum. Some people might have missed the thread when it was created but as it gets mentions they should be able to get access to the thread so they can contribute too.

As for the topic at hand, I side with Icopress on his decision, I'm a manager too so I understand his point. Why should anyone advertise something they can't recommended to others, I understand signature aren't typically an endorsement of the projects that we're wearing but it's an advertisement and for you to continue getting the privilege of advertising that project or product, you should contribute to the growth of the product being advertised. You're not advertising a scam so what's holding you back from presenting that product as the option in the market. Your employer is spending money weekly it's just unfairly to be adverting a competitor, ask yourself if you were in their position how will you feel.

If you have a favourite platforms that's a competitor to your current campaign, you can basically give a shout to the both of them and let the user decide on which one to use but it just doesn't make sense you're giving a 100% validation to a competitor. You can't be a brand ambassador for Nike and publicly say Adidas is the best but you can give your recommendation on both and leave it for the user to choose. Whether we like it or not, we're brand ambassadors for the brands we're promoting on the forum. No campaign manager should force you to shill a project but as adults that we all should be on the forum, you should know the right thing to do and lastly don't join a campaign you don't agree with.

207  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin to be edible rice, will you swallow without complete chewing?. on: February 11, 2024, 02:58:36 PM
Just as is not possible to grand all rice because if you do you will end of not finishing the food, loose time and appetite will be there so is waiting for all ground to be Leve before taking decision of been a bitcoiner and investor, having a plan to buy more when price drop is good but too much ingredients they spoil soup, and too much calculation brings about late conclusion and late conclusion is regret which our people always called hard I know "Mr.late" think if it's rice if you can wait.

It mightn't be possible to chew all your rice before you swallow but at least chew majority, chewing your food before swallowing is a good well to eat because you reduce the workload for the other digestive system. Make you no go follow people wey no dey chew food well say you no go do your research well before you invest for Bitcoin. No hurry invest, do research well so you go know wetin you dey buy, how you go protect your investments and wetin you go do to make you get better profits when you wan sell.

No dey hurry to chop and no dey hurry dey to invest, Bitcoin no dey run go anywhere so e better you understand am well before you invest make you no go invest wrongly. It's better you would have wasted time (during which na research you dey do and you dey try understand everything wey get to do with the investment wey you wan do) then to hurry go invest inside wetin you no understand because of peer pressure or the desire of feeling among.

210  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor people need solution now on: February 10, 2024, 11:47:50 PM
Often poor people like to be poor.  They are given a chance - for example, a big lottery win - but they spend it all without investing anything in the possibility of a steady income.

Poverty is a mentality, giving a poor man handout won't solve his problem, they need to be enlighten and taught how to be rich minded. A poor man being given money will still mismanage that money and will be back in the street begging for bread to eat the very next day. Poor people need to help themselves and not waiting for someone to rescue them from their poverty. If they're not willing to do things that'll contributions to eliminating their poverty then all your efforts will be waste of effort trying to help them.

Quote
They buy villas, cars, furniture in huge quantities, without thinking that they have to maintain it all. In the end, the money runs out - and the balance sheet is a pile of illiquid. They sell the rest for pennies, which they also spend. Poverty is often a psychological problem

Poor people don't just need solutions because solution like charity does no good to a poor man, teach them how to create wealth. Poor people are brainwashed to wait on help instead of them to help themselves from the predicament they're in. The more we keep helping poor people in the society by giving them easy way out, the more we're encouraging others to be lazy and poor. The world isn't for the weak so if we want to live the life of the rich, we have to work first.
211  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 10, 2024, 11:33:16 PM
i think more that we should prioritize saving over investing. the reason is because when we invest it means we are investing in an asset that has risks. if it's a stable asset, like gold, it's probably a good investment, but if it's riskier it doesn't seem like a wise decision.

Prioritizing savings over investment is a death sentence, investing should be what should be prioritized. When you're saving you're accumulating money that are static but money isn't meant to be static, it's meant to be active (moving) and that's why it's called a currency. Saving puts your money at rest which isn't what money is supposed to be doing. Every penny that you own needs to be working to produce any penny and that penny produces it own penny and so on. When you master this you'll never lack money because you have found a way money is working for you and not you working for money.

The rich makes money to work for them and they didn't do that by saving their money but the poor works for money then save and hope they can get their dreams things but never get to own them because they haven't understood money. Investing is risky but life itself is a risk and the biggest risk is not taking any risk at all. Develop the habit of making informed investment decision and you won't be scared of the risk involved as you're taking a calculated risk that gives you a higher possibility of coming out successful.

Saving was valuable in the past but not in today's economy, saving to spend is outdated but if you're saving to invest that's still a welcome development.
212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Isn’t it better late than sorry? on: February 10, 2024, 11:17:41 PM
Here I am, not a single Bitcoin tide to my name, am not so proud about it especially, being here where I just have the vague idea that, the members here just might have so much. I guess what I’m looking out for is a sense of security and some comfort that, it’s really better late than sorry.

If you still need people to convince you to invest in Bitcoin then you're not ready to invest. What's there to lose, it's clearly stated that you should only invest what you'll capable of losing. You don't have to invest everything you have, just go with the little you can risk and relax so you'll also be comfortable hodling. There's already a sense of security when investing in Bitcoin, Bitcoin has a proven history. When it dumps there's every possibility of it rising again when the market turns bullish.

It's wired that someone will be on the forum and still haven't invested in Bitcoin, aren't you seeing all the advice ongoing on the forum and I'm sure you'll also be among those giving out the advice to hodl Bitcoin. Just buy the least you can afford, instead of buying that bear this weekend put that money into Bitcoin and hodl. Nothing is too small, your $10, $100, $1000 and so on investments can change your life forever.

You shouldn't be scared of risking your money for a better future, it doesn't matter how many times you have been scammed in the past that's making you scared to trust Bitcoin but you have gotten to the final destination of an investments that can guaranteed a better future for you, just invest and be grateful you did.
213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you met this kind of investors? on: February 10, 2024, 10:49:50 PM
Common quote from Robin Jones Gunn, you may or may not have heard about it, but is "You go alone, you go fast, you go with people, you go far". Have you met anyone who knows about bitcoins, and then you tried to introduce them to this forum to come join this community, but they refused? I like to see what maybe their reasons where.
I am just over relating that quote to bitcoins; do you have the opinion that lone investors who are not members of any kind of forum or community about bitcoins or cryptocurrency can still be very successful investors?

Yes you can be successful just by buying and hodling Bitcoin, you don't need to be a part of any community to benefit from investing in Bitcoin and that's what makes Bitcoin investments very special. You can invest in Bitcoin and nobody gets to know. You can be private, have anonymity and make profits by investing in Bitcoin. You don't need people or collaboration to make profits from Bitcoin. What you could say is if you want to be actively in the crypto industry and get information about developments going on in the industry then you need to join communities but if you solely want to just invest in Bitcoin you can do that and be successful.

There are many of Bitcoin investors that aren't on the forum and they're doing quite well from just investing in Bitcoin and hodling their investment in a non constodial wallet and yet there are many people on the forums that aren't doing very well because they're getting mislead by other members that encourages them to invest into altcoin that aren't guaranteed investments.

The forum and other community has it good and bad side, the good side of the forum is that it can help you get information on potential scams in the industry to avoid and investment advices that can be beneficial to you but it can also mislead you into thinking you're investing into a blue chip project when they get advertised on the forum.
214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: February 10, 2024, 10:35:06 PM
I don't consider it enough to encourage them to read through the forum because I still remember how difficult it was for me as a newbie, so I'm challenged in my spirit that there should be an easier way to go about introducing the entire concept to newbies.

I don't get it when people say they find it difficult to browse through the forum or to introduce people to the forum. There is no workloads here, this is just a forum like other forum on the internet, if you have informed them about the vital rules of the forum which is not to plagiarised the works of others you don't have a problem on the forum. When the forum becomes difficult is when you promise the people that you're introducing to the forum, as a place to come and earn Bitcoin then they beginning to find it difficult as their intentions aren't genuine anymore but are all monetary influenced.

I have introduced many people to the forum and their orientation has resolved around the forum being a place to come and learn about Bitcoin especially then stay updated with cryptocurrency and they don't find it difficult to engage the forum. Anybody coming to the forum to learn won't find it difficult here. After they have learnt then they can start impacting the knowledge they have received to other coming at their behind and they'll be rewarded with merits for their contributions to the forum.

The forum don't need you to introduced new members, just like Bitcoin, the forum gets new users constantly on its own so when you can't bring new users don't force the forum on anyone or you'll be introducing more spammers than quality posters.
215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 10, 2024, 10:22:51 PM
The main reason for buying or acquiring Bitcoin is to get rich. People usually invest in these assets to get rich quickly. Over the years, Bitcoin prices continue to amaze many people and I am imagining about the people who bought Bitcoin 5 or 10 years ago. I am sure they became millionaires. If, in this short span, a person becomes a millionaire, then why not try your luck in it?   Another advantage of having Bitcoin is that you will have your money in your custody.

Acquiring Bitcoin to get rich is quite a big word because it mightn't be possible anymore because of the price of Bitcoin. Those who can buy the amount of Bitcoin that can make them to become rich if bitcoin increases in value have to be rich already before they can spend the amount of money they'll need in acquiring the amount of Bitcoin to make them rich. If you say people are investing to make profits, that's a reasonable choice of word but to say rich, it looks very unlikely or it'll take a very long time of holding to achieve.

Bitcoin isn't that volatility that the price will increase and make you rich overnight, other cryptocurrency can do that for now but Bitcoin can't unless you'll be willing to hodl for a long period of time. Those who bought 5 to 10 years ago aren't lucky but deserve every profit that they're getting because they held onto their Bitcoin. Many people would had still missed the opportunity if they knew about Bitcoin then just as they're hearing about Bitcoin today and ignoring it.

It doesn't really matter what our reason behind acquiring Bitcoin is but we should make sure we're acquiring Bitcoin as it's better to be scammed than to miss out on this opportunity of a lifetime to be among the next generation of wealthy people from acquiring Bitcoin during the early days.
216  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tips to Avoid Scams on Cryptocurrency p2p Exchanges on: February 09, 2024, 11:49:22 PM
Since the banning of cryptocurrency transactions with banks in 2021, Nigerians turned to using peer-to-peer (p2p) trading platforms for their transactions. These platforms offer an easier way to convert, buy, or sell cryptocurrency in the country. Even after the ban was lifted last year, Nigerians still prefer using p2p platforms over banks. However, there's been a rise in scammers flooding these exchanges, making it difficult to distinguish between legitimate traders and scammers. These scammers manipulate these platforms, adding fake testimonials to their profiles. As Nigerians become more familiar with cryptocurrency platforms and exchanges, they become more vulnerable to scams.

Majority of the platforms wey popular wey we Nigerians dey use na centralized P2P exchanges so the very first advice wey I go give newbies na to trade with only verified merchants. You already dey use centralized platforms so use am well. This exchange dey get kyc verification for anybody wey wan become merchant for dem to get verified and as a verified merchant you no go wan spoil your reputation by scamming because you know how much you dey make from there.

Verified Merchants accounts can be hacked too so make you no think say as dem dey verified say e dey okay to do things wey go put you at risk like releasing coins when you never receive payment or sending money off the exchange platform. No do outside trade with any merchants as there dem go fit scam you based on say escrow no dey but for the platforms dem, you dey secure.

Another advice na not to believe in SMS alerts, open your app and confirm say money dey your account before you release coins unless you go lose your coins. When buying with money no use USD code dem but use normal bank app transfer so better evidence go dey incase the matter reach stage wey be say evidence will be needed because some people just wicked and dem go wan suffer you for the transactions.
217  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How would normal Nigerian survive naira inflation on: February 09, 2024, 11:22:51 PM
For a while now, I just dey see this news about naira inflation and me I come dey reason how other other Nigerians wey no dey into crypto go use take survive this inflation, how are they going to store their value without having to bother about too much knowledge.

Acquiring Landed properties na the quickest solution wey come inside my head. Landed propertied especially land na the best way to fight this inflation wey no get to do with online but manual. You can't go wrong with investing in land because land dey always appreciate and the value of your investments go always increase. As you buy land and development come the place, e no matter how small the developments be but e go still add value to your land. You fit hold land for as long as you like until you dun get the value wey you want for the land. You fit also lend am through leasing out the land and they market money from rental payments while you still own the land.

Quote
I know bitcoin would be the first option but many Nigerians don't know about bitcoin and even if they change to dollars its still suffering inflation too, wat do you think would be the fastest means that a common Nigerian man can store his monetary value.

Dollars money no dey suffer inflation for Nigeria, globally e dey suffer but not when you compare am to Naira. In the last 5 years dollars dun increase like 4-5x times wey be say if you been get $1 you go dun get like 4-5x of your money so dollars no dey inflate for the country but e dey give better profits like an assets and that shows how bad the economy of the country has been. If you no sabi crypto e go make sense make you go learn am today and start dey invest inside Bitcoin because self to get dollars dis days no be here so investing in Bitcoin na just the best options.
218  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The need to acquire an asset now on: February 09, 2024, 11:05:40 PM
The time is now to start thinking about the future and stop living extravagant lifestyles trying to impress people who wouldn't even know how you are doing when you peradventurely fall.

As you no plan, you dun automatically plan to fail. If you no make good use of your youthful days, when you dun old you go still dey suffer dey work from hand to mount. All this old men wey dey work as security men today fit be ballers in their youthful days and dem forget to invest so make we try not to belike them by doing what is needed to be done to have a fruitful future.

As you dey get money and all you dey think about na how to impress people wey be say dem no even fit get wetin you get na when you no get that money again, na dat time you go know wetin you dun do with your life. Planning your life by investing into assets is necessary, na assets wey you buy today wey go rescue you tomorrow when everywhere dun dry. This money no dey dey foolish man hand forever as you go disrespect am by wasting am for liability them na so the money go dey move away from you.

No live extravagant lifestyle when you no get assets wey go fit take care of those bills without having to use money that are meant to be seeds. No go dey flex money wey you suppose to dey invest. Just arrange yourself well and live in a comfortable way then invest the rest into assets wey go dey multiply your money and not only storing it.
219  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How dollar rise take affect the prices of things? on: February 09, 2024, 10:46:37 PM
I wan really ask how dollar wey oyibo Dy use Dy take Dy affect the prices of goods and services for our country because if to say na only goods wey dem import I for say na the exchange rate when making payment but how e take affect things wey we they source raw materials locally come produce here like garri, rice, indomie, cloths, and other things

Na the effect of your country being a consuming country and not a producing country, wetin we sabi for this country na to just dey consume and we dey import 90% of things wey we dey use for this country and when we dey do international deals na dollars we dey use so anytime wey we dey import and is being affected by the price of the dollars.

The major things wey we dey use for this country is imported, the fuel, electronics and major food suppliers are all import so dollars dey affect all this things and your local garri or product seller also gets affect so she too go come add price too as the cost of productions dun increase and she go also need better profits to use buy those other things then wey dun increase. Transport hikes comes from fuel price increasing and since we dey use dollars buy fuel, if the price of dollars increase because of the depreciation of Naira dat one go affect everything wey dey market as they all get transported.

Lastly, out of greediness some market women and men go always take advantage of the increase of dollars to increase their own prices even as na old stock while some need increase even though na old stock because dem need make profits to use buy the new stocks when them go go market go buy new market.
220  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Top 2 cryptocurrency exchange on: February 09, 2024, 10:29:44 PM
Crypto currencies exchange following some online transactions has been exposed to scammers and high charges. The Nigeria banks for example takes a huge percentage to transaction fees especially when it is Bitcoin transaction.

Cryptocurrency exchange are exposed to hackers and not high charges. They're not exposed to scammers neither as their platform has centralized feature to make it almost Impossible for scammers to take advantage off. Scamming are happening off the exchange and not on the exchange unless you're using a decentralized exchanges that the site has been compromised. The Nigeria banks or other banks don't have any charges when it comes to Bitcoin transactions, if was until recently that the government lifted their ban on banks to do business with crypto traders so nothing of such like banks taking a fees has happend in Nigeria.

Quote
Though I haven't had more knowledge on this Bitcoin transactions but from my research today I found two cryptocurrency exchanges which are ranked as the top two currency exchange.

This says it all, next time try to have some knowledge from a proper research so you don't mislead others with your post. Bitcoin transaction fees goes to the miners and not banks and we have many popular exchanges that gives services to all part of the word. We have centralized and decentralization exchanges with big volumes so there's no point limiting exchange to only top two. I don't see a reason why we should be discussing only top two exchanges.

Coinbase exchange isn't big in Africa and especially Nigeria. We have other exchange that are of high volume and customer service than coinbase and I'll probable rank them in the top position than coinbase because coinbase is mainly for US citizens.
