210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 15, 2023, 11:08:42 AM
I was wondering how this could happen but I now understand after reading Ngannou's flexible contract with PFL. This is probably the biggest payday in his career so good job to his manager or promoter for making it happen.
There is no problem at all if he will fight inside the boxing industry because his camp and UFC (Dana White) has failed to come into a deal to renew his contract, so now, he got his own freedom without disrespecting anyone or any organization.
Well that should be obvious since he's no longer in the UFC but what I'm talking about is his contract with another MMA organization which is PFL. He recently signed with them but part of the stipulation is that he's allowed to fight outside and that's Fury in this case.

.....

I just read that Ngannou's fight purse against Tyson Fury is around $8 Million which is similar to what UFC offered him to defend his title against Jon Jones. Huge leap from his last fight which reported to be around $600K so kudos for a getting a great deal even after all the fallout.

There was a lot of misreporting around the figure he got offered. That almost certainly wasn't for one fight but it will have been a very restrictive and multi-fight deal similar to what Jones got with his 8-fight deal. Francis would have been stupid to sign that when he knew he could get more for one fight against Fury which he is now getting. Francis was actually being pretty fair and wanted to sign a deal with the UFC just as long as it allowed him to fight in boxing matches too. Dana was stupid for letting that one go especially when he allowed Connor to do so. The heavyweight division is dead in the UFC now and everyone wants to see the Francis vs Jones fight which won't ever happen now unless Dana tucks his tail between his legs but even if he was open to that he would now have to work with Francis' PFL is a cross-promotion which almost certainly isn't going to happen. Hopefully Francis does well enough against Fury that he gets more interest in boxing because there's not much for him in either the PFL or UFC so boxing might be best for him.

I read it will be a real fight, not an exhibition. They did not state how many rounds it is scheduled for. I don’t think it will go the full distance regardless if it's 6 or 8 or 10 rounds. Two big, powerful hitters, we could easily see a knockout.

Fury's WBC belt will not be on the line for the winner. This is definitely the right decision since it is Ngannou‘s very first boxing match

Ngannou does not have a boxing license (as far as I know) and will not be able to get one. In addition, under the auspices of which boxing organization will this fight take place? I didn't find any information about it.
But even if we assume that suddenly this fight will become official (0 chances), we all understand that this is nothing more than an exhibition fight. I understand very well why Ngannou needs it - he will earn more for this fight than in his entire career at the UFC (LOOOOL), with Fury everything is also clear, but very shameful.

How do you know he doesn't have one? Regardless, it's not hard to get one and the fight is taking place in Saudi so it will be under their rules/commission unless the WBC gets involved and makes up some pseudo-belt for the fight which they often do and like they did for the Paul/Tommy fight.

212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 13, 2023, 05:50:41 PM
No doubt about explosiveness of Ngannou since his punch is like bomb explode if received directly proven on his past matches. The only downside I’m thinking about this match for him is the stamina and rule adjustment since he is used to be on a pure brawl and overwhelmed his opponent through his huge body frame. I wonder how far he can last against Gypsy king that is very slipperyon close fight and has a very high stamina.

Connor show the lack of stamina when he fight Mayweather even he is on his prime that time. This is heavy weight match which means players is expected to have less stamina. I will bet for Ngannou if he can end this on few rounds.

I doubt Francis will go the full distance and I doubt Fury will win by KO so it's either a ref stoppage for Fury or Francis KO for me. I'm sure Francis is working on his cardio though to try make sure he can go the distance. I think Francis' game plan will be to come out swinging and hope to smother him earlier on. If that doesn't work Tyson will pick him apart with his superior boxing skills and probably tire him out before the end of the fight.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 13, 2023, 04:39:22 PM

I wonder how high the Ngannou via KO prop will be lined at.  Grin  If Fury is lined at 1.11 to win the match then that could mean Ngannou could be lined around 8.00 - 9.00?  So his KO prop would prolly be lined at around 12.00 - 15.00.  I'd say that's a good value bet if you're for Ngannou.

But yeah...  I'm rooting for Ngannou to win and get the upset.  Lol.  I think that would for sure be the most entertaining result even for boxing fans.  Everybody loves an underdog.

Yeah. Fury is due a humbling too. I will for sure put on some bets for Ngannou to win by KO or maybe even first round KO if the odds are good.

Wow, I'm surprised that you have faith in Ngannou to win by KO. While he is undoubtedly talented, personally, I would be cautious about betting against a legitimate boxing champion. I wouldn't be attracted to taking that risk, even if the KO prop odds are around 12.00-15.00. Instead, I would be interested to know the KO prop for Fury to win by first-round KO.

He can knock out anyone on the planet and has the world record for hardest punch. I'm not saying he will KO Tyson but I think the possibility is very much there. Just watch his knockouts on youtube. This is one of my faves and the music weirdly fits it perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpm2BSPm4Fo

You have to watch it in slow-mo because it's just too fast in real time. Any one of those punches would have been an instant KO but it was still the weakest one that landed that knocked him out. Tyson won't be able to avoid them all for the full match. I think this could be a similar fight to Wilder. Wilder isn't the best boxer but just goes for the kill by swinging bombs and hoping they connect. Wilder even started late in boxing at 20 years old. I think Wilder is obviously better boxer than Francis but Ngannou is an even bigger puncher so if Wilder can floor Fury then so should Francis and that's why it's an exciting fight for me.

Lol totally.  Ngannou grew up so poor and he worked in a sand mine somewhere in the outskirts of South Africa as a kid.  Pretty sure doing all the work he did over there helped his body develop and gain its optimal potential, aside from having good genes.

And yup, early rounds props would be fun.  Hope we get something that are priced over 15.00.  If Ngannou gets lucky at winning it, it would be via KO at the first 5 rounds imo.  Would be sooo funny if he starches Fury stiff.  Cheesy

His entire story would make a great biopic and he had many challenges along the way. I'm really hoping someone will make it.

Francis started out as a boxer, he just pivoted into MMA.
This is true, but Fury is best of the best in boxing, he is on different level compared to all other boxers.
He is one of my favorite boxers today, not just because of his fighting skills but because of his life story, he was very depressed few years ago, near suicide, extra fat overweight, and he came back from that.
This is a great story for a good movie one day.

Ngannou's story is far more worthy of a biopic.

This is boxing. Tyson Fury is a boxer. Francis Ngannou is a MMA fighter. Who is going to win? Tyson Fury is just still the superior while Francis Ngannou do not have boxing skills, he will just train for it, although there is time for that but I see him as the underdog.

Francis started out as a boxer, he just pivoted into MMA. We all know he isn't going to outbox Fury but what makes this fighting appealing to me is he can sure knock him out. He's a harder hitter than Wilder so if he can floor Fury three times I think Ngannou can too. He has devastating knockout power. I think Francis should just come out swinging from the get go and try and catch him. If that doesn't happen within the first round just ease off the gas and try find a hole in Tyson's defences to get the KO. That's the only way he'll win. Either way I'm glad Francis is getting his payday that he deserves.

Tyson Fury confirms <— that can not be trusted or counted as a serious source. Fury talked much about his fights, but he or his opponent never sign contracts. Like the fight against Usyk. Fury confirmed also that they would fight, but instead they can not come to agreement and now Usyk fight someone else. I will wait for an official confirmation from both sides managers and promotion.

Both sides have confirmed it along with their respective promoters:
