201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is done! Now this is what we are left with! on: July 15, 2023, 01:00:14 AM
This thought came to my mind today.

What if there's this news that says "Bitcoin mining is over. All the Bitcoin has been mined and all the leftovers are burned. We are left with what we have in our hand"?

I know Bitcoin mining will be over one day. Many sources say that it will be over in the year 2140. So let's just imagine ourselves at that point in time and discuss how the situation will play out. That's why I am saying that it may happen today. How this will impact the whole crypto world?

  • Will we be able to see stability in Bitcoin prices? Or price dump? how will this play out?
  • Positive impact or negative impact?
  • Will people still be interested in Bitcoin?

I can not shake off this curiosity in my mind. So let's talk about that. Tell me your thoughts. What this event is going to do to the crypto world.
1. Stability? I don't think so. Less volatile than now, very likely. Price dump? Why would the price go down after all the coins are mined?

2. We can't say anything for sure. Yeah, positive impact on the price because we won't be seeing new supplies of coins every block. There might be some negative impact too. Miners will have to completely depend on the transaction fees. Will that be enough to keep them motivated to mine?

3. Why not? Why would they lose interest from bitcoin after all coins has been mined? Makes no sense at all..
202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is better to invest in copy trading or bot on: July 15, 2023, 12:52:34 AM
Which is better to invest in copy trading or bot

And is there any other alternatives

I have 4k btc to invest
Isn't copy trading and a bot almost the same thing? If you are going to copy trade, you are going to use a bot anyway.

But yeah, none of them is the best option to invest in. You should learn how to trade by yourself. Those copy trading can never guarantee you profit and one mistake, you end up losing everything. And I am not sure what you mean by investing in a bot. A bot with trading strategies? Still has no guarantee to give you profit and the bot might mess up leaving you with nothing. Also, don't trust third party bots. You never know what those bots can do. The next day you will see that you have nothing on your account and everything stolen.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 14, 2023, 05:43:13 AM
Don't join those groups. They are most likely scam groups in telegram, whatsapp and so on.  You can try if you wish to take some risks, but don't pay for those premium groups. They will give you signals that are publicly available. Or just give you random signal and some how manage to get lucky. And then there are those groups that just pump and dump shitcoins. I can guarantee you that those group are there just to scam people. They pump small market cap coins by buying the coins, convinces other to invest too because a "pump" is going on, and when other starts to invest, the price goes even higher. Eventually at the end, the "top level" members, will dump their coins to the bottom members, leaving them with next to  nothing.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling Bitcoin on: July 14, 2023, 05:02:05 AM
Bitcoin hodling is something almost everyone on this forum is eager to partake in or already partaking in.
However I did some research and discovered most forum members do a lot of Bitcoin transaction, and sometimes leaves them with little or no hodlings in their wallets. Of course Some on the other hand have most of their Bitcoins as hodlings in their wallets  although they still transact with Bitcoins . Holding Bitcoin is a choice however for those that have Bitcoin holdings how do you manage to minimize Bitcoin transactions to increase your hodlings.

Though hodling Bitcoins can be tempting to transact with sometimes
Most of them leaves with nothing? You came to a conclusion based on reading what the forum members said? I can assure you, most of the "forum" members here will make up stories about how much bitcoin they are holding and how they lost it. You shouldn't come to a conclusion based on these imaginary stories. Anyone that is holding bitcoin won't really disclose that or say much they are holding. Use real data. Google it and verify the source and then come to a conclusion.
however for those that have Bitcoin holdings how do you manage to minimize Bitcoin transactions to increase your hodlings.
You invest money that you can afford to lose and that you don't need anytime soon. So if you are doing that, then I see no reason for someone to actually spend their bitcoin.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on the Next Crypto Opportunity on: July 14, 2023, 04:51:49 AM
Hard to understand what you are trying to say here, but I am guessing that you are saying if a currency has a good use case or solves problems that existing crypto currencies faces, then that crypto will have a good value due to demand, right? I do agree with this. Currencies with good use case will usually have a good value, but it is really difficult to find such coins. There are most likely coins that we haven't heard of, but is actually trying to do something different than most crypto currencies. By the time we hear of those coins, it is already going to be late, but yeah, not too late. You need to do your own research and look for that gem which isn't going to be an easy task. Make sure you understand the project and know the team behind it.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Motivating gambling addicts to invest in bitcoins. on: July 14, 2023, 12:40:55 AM
Nowadays many people in our country are addicted to gambling. I have seen many people losing their huge amount in most of the gambling games. If all those people can be informed about bitcoin, how to earn money in bitcoin? I think they would have invested in Bitcoin and they could have made money from it.Besides, if they can discuss about Bitcointalk in detail, then I think they will learn about Bitcointalk besides investing in Bitcoin. In this, the person addicted to gambling could stay away from gambling besides earning money.

One thing to remember, I'm not criticizing gambling. I'm just sharing my opinion. thank you
You don't start earning money (you should say profit) when you start investing in bitcoin. You need to be holding for long term to make any good profit. Gambling and investing is a totally different thing. Invest won't help a gambling addict. In fact it will harm them more. Imagine a gambling addict invested in bitcoin and wants to hold long term. He invests, the price drops and then his urge of gambling kicks in. He would be selling his coins in loss to feed his gambling addiction.

They should be talking to a professional and get their help before making any kind of investment. You must have a sane and healthy mind before you start any kind of investment or make any financial decisions.
207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trade have types? on: July 13, 2023, 05:44:42 AM
You have to be more specific about what kind of trading type you are talking about. Like others said, there are different kind of trading like spot trading, arbitrage, scalping, day trading and so on. But I guess you are talking about the "strategies" since you mentioned you are using an "app" to trade. I guess the app is trading for you right? I would say don't use those automatic trading app and stuffs. You never know what they are doing. They can show you "fake" trades and strategies, give you profit and then the next day, the app is going to say they lost a trade and all the money. How would you verify that?
Learn how to trade before trading. Stop using random apps and bots that will trade for you. Trading isn't as easy as you think.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoins on: July 13, 2023, 05:38:04 AM
I read some old threads about lost Bitcoins ND this question has been on my mind ever since
If the lost Bitcoins were for instance recovered will the price of Bitcoin drop  because in theory it would affect the amount of Bitcoin in circulation which will lower it's price . I saw in those threads that lost Bitcoins are considered a donation to the Bitcoin network. so if my theory is correct then we should be happy those Bitcoins were lost.

Depends on the "amount" of lost bitcoin being recovered. If it is few bitcoins, then no, it won't affect the market. If a wallet was recovered with significant amount of bitcoin recovered (like a lot lot lot), then yes, it might affect the market, but just a little. There will be people that will panic and start selling without understanding anything, and others will follow seeing the price crash. They don't even care if the recovered bitcoin is going to be sold or not. And when the price crashes, others will see as an opportunity, grab it as a discount and the price will start going up. So yeah, a little hiccup on the market and then everything goes back to normal like nothing happened.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 7k usdt on: July 13, 2023, 05:28:10 AM
Where to invest 7k usdt

To get profit daily 30$
$30 per day, so that's $900 per month and 10k+ per year. You are really expecting to earn $900 per month by just investing $7,000? Not going to happen. There are no coins that you can invest in that will give you fixed amount of profit. I don't know why others are suggesting you to trade with that money. Even trading won't be giving you that $30 everyday. Wouldn't be surprised if you end up with a $30 loss after trading a day. All you can do is invest in bitcoin. Keep holding and wait for a bull run. Once that happens, take your profit, leave or repeat.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: July 13, 2023, 05:17:35 AM

s/amp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jun/28/ads-for-online-gambling-should-be-banned-in-australia-within-three-years-inquiry-recommends]Ads for online gambling should be banned across all media and at all times within three years to combat the manipulation of an “impressionable and vulnerable audience”, a parliamentary inquiry has recommended.

After months of debate about betting ads, including the prime minister, Anthony Albanese, labelling them “annoying” and the opposition leader, Peter Dutton, calling for a ban on ads during sports matches, the inquiry has provided a blueprint to shut them down entirely.
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jun/28/ads-for-online-gambling-should-be-banned-in-australia-within-three-years-inquiry-recommends

If this should be implemented will it affect bitcointalk casinos? As we all know most established and new casinos come to bitcointalk to launch their ANN thread and carry out signature promotion campaigns which can be regarded as ads in a sense. If ads should be banned will their promotion in Bitcointalk also end?
It's only in Australia that are willing to ban online casino advertisement. Not sure what you mean by bitcointalk casinos. Bitcointalk is a forum. Not a casino. The ANN thread you see is the announcement threads. It's not an advertisement thread. They announce their updated over there. The signatures are personal user space. I doubt it can be considered as a commercial advertisement. People can put what they want in their signature. They can put their referral links. And I doubt Australian government would care about this forum.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 13, 2023, 04:24:56 AM
I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?
What's your definition of a successful "gambler"? Someone who won big luckily? Yeah, there are few, but I doubt there would by an real "successful" gamblers in the world who keeps on gambling and keeps on winning. Eventually that gambler will lose and end up with a negative balance. The more you keep on gambling, the more the change of losing in the long run. But if you are talking about other gamblers that actually promote gambling through events, streams, tournaments and so one, then yeah, they are successful, but if you dig deeper, you will notice that they make money from "working" as a "gambler", not by gambling money. So no, they aren't gambling addict. They are just working like us.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to stake your crypto currency on: July 08, 2023, 05:13:43 PM
I don't really think it's worth it even if you are using a wallet or a separate website for the staking because you never know what happens. What if you have staked a lot of tokens and the price of that token started crashing all of a sudden? And you can't withdraw the staked funds because the contract doesn't allow you to do so, that is when you will lose all the money you have invested if you are not lucky and the price of the token doesn't recover at all.

I know it doesn't happen with all the tokens and coins but when we talk about altcoins, we all know that there are great risks involved with them, we have seen altcoins crashing to almost zero and leaving all their investors stunned losing thousands of dollars in investments in that single altcoin.
1. You shouldn't stake on a "separate" website. If you use centralized exchange or a service that offers staking, you will be giving up your coins to them. You won't own any of the coins, the rates are going to be shit, the fees will leave you with no profit and the risk is very high.

2. That's the risk associated with staking on your own wallet. You have to lock your coins. So stake only if you are willing to hold long term. If you don't want to lock your coins, as far as I know, there are some coins that you can stake on a pool without having to lock your coins. Try using those coins.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 08, 2023, 05:06:46 PM
Boys. It is time to quit gamble. I created a topic about taking gambling as a major income or not and fought a lot of kind people who held an opposite point. I own them a truly apology. I am sorry. No matter who you are, gambling is only for fun. Never take it as income at anytime. If you are still gambling, you should quit now. If you cannot quit by yourself, there are so many channels to help you. Even you can talk to me. I will do my best to help you.

Just some chemical reaction happened in my mind today, I get the point at that moment. Gambling for income is totally wrong and toxic for spirit and body. You will never be successful in that way. But I like gamble is still the fact and it will never change if doing nothing. So, why not open a stream and show it to all people who have interest on that. Let me prove how hard or easy to quit gamble. I will only gamble the affordable fund only. Maybe less. I am streaming 24/7. If some software problems disrupt, I will fix that except sleeping time.

-snip-

Gambling is totally "wrong" and "toxic" if you make it toxic by considering gambling as a form of earning money. Gambling was always meant to be a form of "paid entertainment". You should be gambling for fun, not for making profits. The profits should be considered as an extra/optional reward/gifts that you sometimes get for playing. The main goal shouldn't be focusing on those rewards.

If you are having problem gambling, then you should take help from professionals. No videos or streamers can help you quit gambling. None of them are qualified to do so!
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: July 08, 2023, 04:56:45 PM
Usually, people who win in gambling but not able to cash out or save their winnings and I think this has something to do with a Healthy mindset.
If you do not have the intention to save the wealth, you will lose all your winnings by risking them again in another gambling bet.

Only a mentally strong person who has control over emotions and have money management skills would be the real winner here and will become rich eventually.

-snip-
Not being about to take their profits has nothing to do with having a "healthy mindset". They are addicted to gambling. Even if they do take the profit, they will eventually start playing again and very likely lose more than what they have earned. This will keep on going on until the person goes broke. Only few lucky people can make millions better few bucks. The rest, they all end up making huge losses in the long run. There is no way you can "earn" from gambling to "save" money.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Country rankings in "Bitcoin friendliness" on: July 08, 2023, 04:46:59 PM
Hello. I would be interested to know if there is a list anywhere that ranks countries according to their "Bitcoin friendliness".

For example, I know from my own experience that Germany is friendlier than Britain. What do I mean by this? I mean it is just easier to transfer money from exchanges to banks and the other way around, the German tax people are generally "cool" with people owning Bitcoin, plus you do not pay capital gains tax on any crypto held longer than a year. Meanwhile, British banks are all angsty and I have heard of people getting their accounts shut down because they transfer fiat to/from an exchange.

Has anyone ever compiled such a list? It would be interesting to do our own rankings, I think, from personal experience!

I know lots of online magazines like Forbes sometimes do lists of "ten Bitcoin-friendly countries". But these sort of articles are usually just fluff (like "ten countries it is easy to retire to" and from experience I know their "lists" are rubbish).

So which are the best from the point of view of the individual like us? I know Germany is pretty good and I would tend to imagine the smaller and more "dynamic" countries like Estonia ought to be better, but what about Asia, Central America, etc? Which country is best of all???
I am sure you can google it and get a list of bitcoin friendly country compiled by someone. And yeah, the list might look like some random countries complied, but then it is up to you to do your research and decide which is the best for you. What might be best for someone, might not be best for you. Maybe a country has very friendly bitcoin law, but the quality of life over there isn't good, so moving there might not be worth it. I did google it and yeah, Germany is actually in the top in most cases. Little bit surprised to see that El Salvador didn't make it to the top on any list.
216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Not Just Buy BTC? on: July 08, 2023, 05:42:19 AM
I've seen over one dozen websites believing that BTC will skyrocket in the upcoming years.
The platform I use is Coinbase.
I'm thinking of just buying BTC-USD and just leaving it be.
Any thoughts on this strategy?
Stop reading those articles where they make price prediction and tries to convince you that the price will skyrocket. See how many past predictions came true. Crazy predictions were made the year before, but we ended up having the opposite. Just do your own research and you decide how much you want to invest and how long you are willing to hold.

The holding strategy isn't bad as long as you are willing to hold your bitcoin until you make profit. Don't use a centralized wallet like Coinbase to hold your coins. Use your own wallet where only you have access to the keys!
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: July 08, 2023, 05:36:40 AM
Investing in bitcoin when you are at college isn't a bad idea. As long as you don't need the money and can hold for years, then go for it. But two main problems I have seen here:

1. You say bitcoin is "illegal" in your country. Then I would suggest you not to invest in bitcoin and fall into legal troubles. It's not worth it. And since it is illegal, how can you convert your profits to your local currency? I doubt any exchange would offer their service in a country where using bitcoin isn't legal.

2. You are investing because "many people say that bitcoin will have a bull run soon" and because you have heard that "bitcoin will reach $100k in 2025". If this is the case, I would suggest you not to invest in bitcoin.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: July 08, 2023, 04:40:39 AM
Of course the betting is agent is to be blamed for such thing. I mean, why would the "agent" let him bet 8,000 coins if he has only 1,000 coins with him? Casinos don't work like this. They would never allow you to wager more than you can afford to lose. If there is one such casino, that casino won't be lasting long. Imagine hundred of people wagering money they don't have and then not paying. And then there are people that might win a lot with those money, and yet the casino still won't make any money...
The agent is to be blamed here for making a "bad" business model.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as an opportunity for the unbanked. on: July 08, 2023, 04:24:58 AM
Yeah, bitcoin is an opportunity for the unbanked people. There are lots of people from the 3rd world/poor country where they don't have access to the banking system. But the problem is, is bitcoin the best option for the unfortunate people? Can you afford to lose their money due to volatility? How many merchants or people are willing to accept bitcoin as a payment. How safely do you think they can keep their money? Bitcoin does allow people to be their own bank, but it is not the perfect solution for those people. Maybe there are other altcoins out there that are more stable, cheaper and faster to use, they can try those. But yeah, those aren't bitcoin, so the risk is equally high here.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold the altcoins and invested in Bitcoin" on: July 08, 2023, 03:29:02 AM
Not a bad thing to do. Investing in bitcoin is actually the safest option than any other altcoins. It is "more" stable than most altcoins when it comes to price volatility. And then, fi you plan to hold long term, you are guaranteed to make profit. Yeah, altcoin might give you faster profits, but there are risks associated with it. Imagine you have invest a lot in Luna (now luna classic) more than a year ago. Today you will have almost nothing. No one expected to Luna to go down all of a sudden. But things like this won't be happening with bitcoin. If you still want to diverse your portfolio, then stick with old well known altcoins like Ethereum.
