481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 12, 2023, 03:40:35 AM
I came across a topic recently now on this very thread about a casino refusing to pay a woman ber jackpot winnings of over £35.4m and if you'll agree me that, this isn't a little sum of money to just ignore.

What got me worried isn't just the winning but why are casinos getting away without paying players their exactly winnings with some shitty excuses ?

Link to the post of the woman's winnings below
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5433888.0
Please I really want to understand this question and will be glad to hear from people

You mean tren? It's not a trend for casinos to not pay their winners. Only shitty casinos with bad reputation and those that have ill intention tries to deny payments to their players. You hear more about those not getting paid, because the winners (and those who won big) never actually announces that they have won huge.

Sad that the woman who thought she won the jackpot ended up getting nothing. Since they are claiming the slot machine was malfunctioning, they should refund each and every bets that has been lost in the slot, at least pay her the max win!
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How profitable it is possible to invest in bitcoins in the new year 2023. on: January 11, 2023, 03:30:35 AM
Since you are new here, you should first learn how the market works. No one can predict which year is going to be profitable for investing in bitcoin. Only invest what you can afford invest. If you have money lying around, and you wouldn't need them for years, then put those money in bitcoin and keep holding until you reach your profit goal. It can be this year, or the next year, or the year after next year the bull run might start. If you keep waiting, there is a chance you might end up the chance of investing "at the right" time.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hey guys, support this project BSC project on: January 11, 2023, 03:27:07 AM
Yeah, another shitcoin that you want others to invest in so you can dump on them. Low marketcap means you are easily manipulate the market. Give us one reason why we should support this shitcoin? To make us rich over night? What about the others that will end up losing everything? What about the rugpull that you might do? Worst way to promote your shitcoin to be honest. All red flag.
484  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trading strategy becomes obsolete? on: January 06, 2023, 07:30:55 AM
There is no such thing as perfect trading strategy that will keep on giving you profit. Some strategies might work due to luck, but eventually it will become obsolete. If such strategies exist, literally everyone would be trading  to make profit, right? The market isn't always the same and it changes every second. Anyone trying to sell you the perfect strategy is only trying to scam you. The best strategies can help you is keeping control of your loss.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LastPass data breach caused $53K in Bitcoin stolen, lawsuit alleges on: January 06, 2023, 03:28:27 AM
Link to news
https://cointelegraph.com/news/lastpass-data-breach-led-to-53k-in-bitcoin-stolen-lawsuit-alleges

This is only reported , the exact damage can be much more than this. If I am right, their security has been breached a number of times in the past as well. One more lesson from this incident is that we should not trust every third party tool especially if we deal with crypto. These tools might lack our data in future resulting in financial crypto loss.
Always wonder why someone trusts those third party tools to keep their sensitive and very important data safe despite events like those has been happening for years. I guess most of them are just too lazy to type in their password. If you can't remember your passwords, safe it somewhere offline, at least those that are very important to you. No matter "what security grade" stuffs they use, there are always a chance someone will breach it and cause massive damage.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coin caused Solana price to rise by 40% in a week on: January 05, 2023, 07:24:25 AM
Recently a meme coin was launched on Solana network which got a lot of hype. As a result, Solana prices are about 40% up in last one week. Do you think this is good thing or bad thing for solana ? Just a meme coin causing this boost instead of some solid news like good partnerships or adoption in some company.
At least more people will be interested and know about Solana because of the hype of the meme coin. But it is not always good. People will invest in Solana, the hype of the meme coin dies, the price of Solana starts to drop, newbies make huge loss and they will end up calling the whole crypto market a scam. Same goes for investing in that meme coin. And it's more weird that a meme coin is causing the price of Solana to go up. Wouldn't that affect the reputation of Solana negatively?
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mistake I made some years ago on: January 05, 2023, 06:57:08 AM
Happened to all. I am sure there are people that spent their bitcoin when the price was $500 or $1,000 or $2,000 or so on. You shouldn't be regretting. You probably sold because you had to or because you wanted to take your profit. People should stop being obsessed with holding "toxicity" mentality. If you want to take profit, take it and later when you can afford to buy more, buy.
Instead of looking at your previous transaction, why not buy again and hold some so you don't regret in the future once again?
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Fools Gold on: January 04, 2023, 06:36:10 AM
There are many projects asking investors to stake their tokens for APY but they collapsed later for example Midas, they offered 17% APY on USDC, the token went from 38$ to 0 and their swap feature is shut down..

I am just trying to warn you about Centralised Finance tokens and platforms, avoid taking big risks with CeFi Platforms.

APY can be tempting at times, powerful enough to make you turn your back on the vital parts of the project, do not compare APY of a CeFi project with others especially when the project is not that popular.

Now that we are even in a bear market, any projects offering high yield is a big red flag, this is not the time to focus on earning rewards.
Any coin that gives a insane APY is very likely some shitcoin that are trying to lure people. I don't understand how people still fall for those kind of shitcoins. Anyone will a little brain will realize that the gains they give will cause the supply explosion eventually causing the coin to die. Some even require people to lock their tokens which puts them into risk of never being able to sell or missing the opportunity to sell. Don't fall for those APY scam!
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: January 04, 2023, 06:34:01 AM
One thing that people don't tend to discuss is that with Bitcoin anyone can open a "bank" and receive money for goods and services, almost for free.

Compare that with the costs of opening a bank account for a business, many people would not be able to do that.

That means that heaps of people in El Salvador will now be able to sell goods and services to all the world, almost for free.

Of course anyone in the world can do that, but it's now expected in El Salvador. It's not a weird thing to say "I'll pay with BTC"
Yeah almost for free if they are willing to hold the coins and use it as a regular currency. But then again, they might become the victim of volatility. They received $1,000 worth of bitcoin from a sale. They keep it in bitcoin, but the next the price might become $900. He will have to pay more in bitcoin for the goods/services he buys for his business. He would be making a loss. But if he decides to convert it to fiat, it is no longer "free". You will usually pay a percentage fee on the conversation, or a platform fee unless you are doing direct p2p transaction with no third party involved which we all know is going to be hard and not convenient for everyone.
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 04, 2023, 05:28:14 AM
Suppose I am doing business through an online Facebook page and website and want to accept Bitcoin. But now if I look at cryptocurrencies it comes with high volatility, and I have doubts whether accepting Bitcoin will be profitable for my business.
I really want to know your opinion on this and what are the initial steps I should take if I adopt cryptocurrency for my business? Because I see many people on the forum are taking steps to accept Bitcoin for businesses and that's why these questions araised in my mind.
-snip-
You had looked at the cryptocurrencies, but have you looked at the price of bitcoin and the charts? If you did, what did you see? I am sure you saw that the price in the long run kept on going up. Compare the price of bitcoin few years ago with todays price, and you will see people made a very decent profit by holding. So what I am trying to say is that, yes it is going to be risky for your business due to volatility, but if you are willing to hold it for long term, then you will  be making more profit. Why not hold a percentage of your profit in crypto currencies, while converting the rest to fiat as soon as you receive it?
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 23, 2022, 12:21:22 AM
It depends on the trust between you two. Isn't marriage supposed to be built on trust? If you can't trust your wife, I don't think the marriage will work for you. You aren't supposed to hide anything from them. But make sure she knows the importance of the thing you are about to share with her. Make sure she knows that she shouldn't share it with anyone else and if she has it written down somewhere, to make sure she keeps it safe. Also she should know how to recover wallets with phrase, or else what's the use of her knowing?
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 22, 2022, 11:16:24 PM
People actually claim to be strong holders that can go against any situation wanting them to sell off some of their bitcoins. The strongest of holders do not just sell at the slightest economic discomfort I know, but I believe everybody has a threshold at which if the pressure surpasses them, they would break into the decision of selling some of their bitcoins to sort the present condition. What kind of situation do you think is enough to pressure you in seeling some of the bitcoins you have been holding. Is family or health challenge enough reason to?
I guess if they reach their profit goal or if they see the price has went up significantly enough, this will want them to sell their coins. At least I would sell and keep some profit since based on history, once the price skyrockets, a correction always takes place. Only those who invested money that they can't afford to lose or money they will need for something, feel forced to sell when they see the price crash or when they need it for something emergency.
493  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance's proof of reserves raises red flags: Report on: December 16, 2022, 01:31:40 AM
According to a report, Binance's proof of reserves raises red flags. You can read about it: https://cointelegraph.com/news/binance-s-proof-of-reserves-raises-red-flags-report

Yet we maintain the stance that proof of reserve will only confuse some people to be proof that exchanges are managing customers funds appropriately, but do not be deceived, the appropriate store for you coins is self custody on noncustodial wallet.
More reasons not to store your coins in any exchange or custodial wallets. Your coins are never safe there. You don't know what they are doing with your coins. Once you send them your coins, it is no longer your coins. The coins now belong to them. Its like giving them away your coins to them but you don't know why or what they are doing with your coins.  You only trust them to return it to you when you ask for it, but you if they don't you can't do anything. Months ago, no one knew this would happen to FTX and they trusted them with all their coins. The result was them only losing everything. Who knows... binance might also face the same fate. Best store your coins in your own wallet!
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Better Ways To Manage Energy Consumption For Casino Centers. on: December 16, 2022, 01:24:52 AM
I doubt any huge casino is facing problems with energy consumption. The amount of energy the casino consumes is comparatively nothing to what they bring in each year. But yeah, it doesn't hurt to be more energy efficient and go green. But I don't see much options here. The slots should run 24/7 and all the other tables should be open even if there are no players. But like others suggested, they can try solar energy to cut cost and for more efficiency, but they will still need to use the traditional energy power system (grid) due to probability of foul weather.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason Dogecoin could fail in the future on: December 15, 2022, 07:00:57 AM
Dogecoin gained popularity due to its low cost as well as its welcoming community. Its community of users behind Dogecoin is involved on various social platforms, and it gained popularity specifically from Reddit.

Doge could fail because -
Dogecoin could fail in the near future due to its outdated blockchain technology. The Dogecoin blockchain is built on the Litecoin blockchain, which is based on Bitcoin's Blockchain.
One of the main issues with old blockchains is that they're not scalable. They are unable to manage large volumes of transactions without slowing down or mistakes.

Investors advice on investing in Dogecoin now as this is being the best time to purchase doge. Dogecoin prices are expected to rise as we approach the annual close. The increase in price fluctuations may eventually assist the price to soar and as per Coinpedia doge price prediction it will close the year at $0.118.

Are these cons going to result in dogecoin price failing or Elon Musk support for it make this coin price increase?
Yeah so it is based on the same technology as bitcoin but you call it outdated? Bitcoin isn't scalable too, why hasn't it failed? But yes, like all other coins doge coin there is a chance that dogecoin might fail too, but that is very likely to happen. The community support is huge and it is still cheap to transact with dogecoin. Maybe it won't reach $1 or get pumped like before, but there will always be people using doge coin.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think ive throw money away on: December 15, 2022, 06:54:55 AM
Did I just throw away 200$ ?

I made a grave mistake today and it was because of binance news, I went online and saw a tweet on Twitter about how danger is lurking around the Binance exchange right now and I was told to move whatever funds I have on Binance out.

I did this, I sent 200$ from Binance to Huobi exchange because I want to buy a coin that was available only on Huobi anyways but I sent USDT to the BSC chain on Huobi which unfortunately was suspended.

Now I tracked the Bsc address on Huobi the USDT was moved, is there any chance of getting my money back or it's a gone.
You moved from one exchange to another exchange when there are FUDs being spread about exchanges? Not the smartest move to be honest. Move to a non custodial wallet if you really want to keep your funds safe. Anyway, since you sent it to a wrong chain and they suspended (temporarily or permanently?) deposits from that network, very likely they do have access to your funds. You will need to contact support and ask them to withdraw the money for you. Likely there will be a fee you have to pay.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: December 15, 2022, 04:55:49 AM
If you have a look at the scam accusation section, you will find that no casino has a good reputation there. Each and every casino which has their ANN thread here, has at least one complaint against them; sometimes confiscated funds, delayed withdrawal, not paying the winning, freezing account etc. Why this is the principal of all the casinos? Why they can't operate without having any issues? They always do this shit; who knows what has been done with people who don't know how to deal with such a casino. Can you show me a thread that never had any reputation issues on this forum?
There will be always one impatient user who if faces a 5 minute delay will end up accusing the casino of scam. Did you read the posts over there or just read the title and you came to a conclusion that all casinos attempted to scam or cause problems? Most likely the user that is accusing of scamming just lost a lot of money in a legit casino and is now being delusional that the casino is a scam and rigged his bets. Or someone probably broke the terms of service and now is upset his funds got confiscated. I doubt any good legit casino would cause trouble to any clean players.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: December 15, 2022, 04:26:09 AM
Your coins aren't losing any value. They still values a lot. Look at the price a decade ago and see the price now. You mean you lost money investing in those coins? Well, yes you lost money if you already sold the coins when the price of the coins were lower than what you have bought for. But if you are still holding your coins and haven't sold anything, then you haven't made any loss. Keep holding and if you can, buy more. By the way, SBF has already been arrested and had his court hearing. And we can already see the price go up, but then again, Binance is facing some questions, which might again affect the price of overall crypto market.
499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using Bonus Buy or Not Using Bonus Buy? on: December 10, 2022, 06:04:46 PM
I have often played slot games at some trusted casinos these past few days. While playing, I often buy Bonus Buys and I do that in many slot games.

Which is the most profitable or generates the most profit between buying a Bonus Buy or playing normally without buying a Bonus Buy?

This made me curious because I tried it in several games such as Gate of Olympus, Mental, Fire in the Hole, Sword of Ares, Land of Zenith and others. And I see that buying Bonus Buy is more profitable. Is it really like that? What slot games often allow you to win more money by using Bonus Buy?

Note: Buying Bonus Buy allows us to win more money, while playing normally does not guarantee we can win some money.
You talking about the bonus feature buy? Yeah, those can give you bigger wins, but you also wager like 100 times more for those bonus features. They have higher multiplier and payout, but there is a chance you will be also losing a lot too. More like you buy $100 worth of features, you either up winning only $10 or a huge payout of $1000. The former one very likely to happen. If you are not hunting for the bonus round, just spin the slots normally and if you get lucky, you will win the bonus round (which guarantees you a profit for that bet). But if you are looking for the bonus round, buy the features, you will likely be spending less when you instantly buy it instead of manually spinning for it.
500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Demo Account, Should Not Be Related To A Real Account on: December 10, 2022, 05:24:27 PM
Those demo accounts are actually for practicing the trading and learning about the platform to be more comfortable. You can also try different kind of strategies with it. And yeah, you are right. When trading with demo accounts, people has nothing to worry about because they actually can't lose any money trading. Hence they can to do some high risk trading strategies that can help them be more confident when executing those trades with their real account. Demo account also helps you understand the market better. So I don't actually see what's wrong to relate it with a real account.
