641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be used to clean environment and reduce waste?? on: October 06, 2022, 01:47:40 AM
For long I read bitcoin isn't environment friendly and the cost of bitcoin mining is exorbitant.
This is the main reason why many organisations and governments are criticizing bitcoin.
However i feel defferent.
I feel bitcoin can become a great tool of creating a much cleaner and greener environment. We should come together and work to create a better future world.

Most of the cities around the globe produce tons of waste and that waste end up in landfills, garbage hills, drains and so on.
Civic bodies don't really have capability, resources or even will to address these problems.

I feel if we allow bitcoiners to set biodegradation plants  for waste treatment. Such plants which decompose these waste and generate bio-gases like methane and other which can inturn generate electricity sufficient for running their bitcoin grids.

This will be a win win situation for all.

There will be cheap electricity for bitcoin mining , there will be biodegradation of waste as needed by civic bodies.
There will be greener and cleaner environment.

Overtime  an international  network or a global bitcoin grid, where citizens can invest for creating waste biodegradation plants and the bitcoin mined will be their reward in proportion to their investments.

I think bitcoin is an opportunity to bring together world and achieve the mammoth goals of environmental protection, poverty eradication and bringing prosperity and equality in world.

Please express your thoughts on this.

Let us say bitcoin never existed, then why aren't they doing this now? There would be less "wastage" and countries would have almost "cheap" electricity like you have stated. There are countries that struggle with electricity productions. Why don't they use this method? I am sure this is because it is more complicated that you think and isn't as much feasible as you think.

There are some questions or threads we see here mables me. What bitcoin has to do with environment again? Bitcoin is an online or a digital currency which can be used to buy goods and services and if the  service providers accept it. so I don't see any connection between the two. But if you understand bitcoin you would not ask such question. What your Fiat currency can do bitcoin can also do if only the environmental service agencies will accept it then bitcoin can be used.
Maybe if you read the post, you would have known what OP is talking about.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Favorite Misconceptions About Bitcoin on: October 01, 2022, 02:37:19 PM
Does this happen to anyone else? You're trying to explain to someone, perhaps a close relative, what crypto actually is? And they come up with all of these strange/sill ideas? These are my top 3, I would love to hear everyone else's.

1. You can only buy whole bitcoins. I guess this one makes sense, if you never knew anything about crypto. After all, one usually buys whole stocks and bonds, and whole other things. But I have had many conversations where the person says something like "yeah I would love to get bitcoin but I don't have (insert whatever the current price is).

2. It's a ponzi scheme/ tulip bubble/ some other kind of scam or shenanigans. I think this one comes straight from the msm. Even prominent financial news outlets regularly print erroneous, or purposely false and misleading information. But, if you actually know what crypto is, the idea that it is the same thing as a ponzi scheme or the tulip bubble is just silly. It's like the exact opposite of those things.

3. I would love to buy some Bitcoin, but (whatever the current price is) is just too expensive for magic internet money. This one I think is due to people feeling like they missed out at being an early adopter. These are the types that tend to say things like "gee I wish I had bought amazon when it was a few pennies a share". But whatever the current price, it's too much. It could literally be $5 a Bitcoin and they would say it was too much. I get it, they don't really understand what crypto is, but it's still a bit silly if you ask me.

1. It's because most people thing that they "need" to own one whole bitcoin in order to make profit. It is something more psychological I guess. They don't realize that they can accumulate bitcoin over time and then eventually own a whole bitcoin.

2. Only those who don't know how bitcoin and the market works are going to call it a ponzi scheme. Also those who lost all their money for being greedy thinks they lost their money because bitcoin was a ponzi.

3. And then they keep on waiting for the price to drop which never happens. They end up crying and "hating" bitcoin even more.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum drop gets me worried. on: October 01, 2022, 04:28:04 AM
Ethereum drops after proof-of-stake.
Source' channelsnews.com

My worry right now is that, is it going to drop worst more than it has already and what are the chances of it pulling up within the shortest possible period?

As am getting the feeling of withdrawing my asset before it gets worst or am I been too haste.
This was supposed to happen. Buy the rumor sell the news. The rumor was the merge. People rushed in to  buy Ethereum. People were FOMOing, it was over brought and price went up a lot. The news is the merge taking place. Once the merge took place, people started selling their excess Ethereum to take tall the profit and reinvest in other coins. The price isn't dropping. It is correcting.

You shouldn't be worried if you invested for long term. Keep holding and the price will go up eventually.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you stake stablecoins now? on: October 01, 2022, 04:25:18 AM
You don't actually "stake" those stable coins. All most all stable coins can't be staked. What you do is actually lend your coins to the exchange and they use your coins different purposes and share a percentage with you.

The UST "stable" coin wasn't backed by any real world assets like USDT is backed. It was an algorithmic stable coin and there were people already claiming that UST is going to fail soon and that is exactly what has happened. You shouldn't be worried about USDT or USDC failing because they all are backed by real money and treasuries and is regulatory complaint. You should be more worried about leaving your coins in an exchange.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Warning - 100,000 ETH Giveaway!!!! on: October 01, 2022, 03:20:16 AM
Guys down to the official tweet from Vitalik about the release of his Book Proof Of Stake there is a scam account that resembles same as Vitalik's official Twitter account. If you watch closely you can easily find the difference. The scammer have described about a 100,000 ETH as a celebration of merge. Please be careful and don't loss your ethereum.

-snip-

This isn't something new. Only dumb people would fall for the scam. Only dumb people would think they will need to send money to receive a giveaway (so dumb that they don't know giveaway means receiving things for free). And of course, if they aren't smart enough to check the username of the twitter account, then they deserve to get scammed for being stupid and greedy!
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is the connection between web3 and BTC on: October 01, 2022, 03:14:06 AM
what is the connection between web3 and BTC
No connection between web3 and bitcoin. Bitcoin is a crypto currency that people can use for making transactions. I guess web3 is just another web technology that people think is the future. The only characteristics they both have in common is decentralization, using the blockchain technology and giving people full freedom (not sure if that would be a good thing to give full freedom over the internet). And people might be using and integrating bitcoin to make web3 completely decentralized.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, tourism and legal gambling age for gamblers around the world. on: October 01, 2022, 02:48:47 AM
Wasn't the UK supposed to put a ban on all gambling advertisements as people were against it and were saying it encourages people and even minors to gamble? Not sure if it was UK or some other country. They used to put a lot of gambling advertisements on the TV.

The South Korean law is weird. They won't allow their people to gamble but foreigners can gamble. That's fine. But why won't they allow their people to gamble outside their country? And how would they know if their citizens were gambling or not?
648  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any experiences with mrSloty.com ? on: October 01, 2022, 02:25:51 AM
Sorry If this is not the place to post this.

Did anyone have any experience with mrSloty.com?
there are a lot of sportbook markets, but cannot find to much info about that bookie.

All I found is that the withdrawals takes a lot of time, bout 14-20 days
1. Why do you want to try this casino? Any specific reason?

2. Why would you want to play in a casino that has no reputation and no reviews online even though there are so much more better casinos with excellent reputation?

3. Forget 1 and 2, why would you even think of playing in a casino that takes 14 to 20 days to process withdrawals?
649  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Banned on: October 01, 2022, 02:22:33 AM
Binance has been banned in my country without my awareness. But i still have coins in Binance. I can no more access this site.

Can you help me access Binance?
Like others said, they wouldn't ban and stop users from accessing their exchange instantly. They probably announced it before and gave a timeframe through which users were allowed to withdraw your coins and you missed it. This is the exact reason why you should never be using a centralized exchange to store your coins for long term. Things like this might happen and you end up losing access to your coins (which isn't anymore once you store it in an exchange) and becomes a hassle trying to withdraw it.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you change your mind on gambling ? on: September 30, 2022, 04:54:11 AM
You are a core gambler,I mean you have a reserved or particular time that you use in gambling everyday, just the way some of us are,we even add gambling expenses to our monthly budget because we gamble to entertain ourselves.
A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. Will you just behave yourself and abide to this new law that is depriving you from having fun as a good citizen ? or will you ignore the law and keep on gambling since there are online casinos that you can gamble secretly with your mobile phones with out no one knowing ?
If government makes gambling illegal in your country and you still want to gamble, then you should realize that you are  some what addicted to gambling. You are risking yourself jail time and penalties just to gamble your money. You might argue that you gamble only little amount just to entertain yourself. Well, there are other "paid" form of entertainment that you can enjoy without doing anything illegal. Or you can play in those virtual currency (that has no value) casinos for fun.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: determine a good project on: September 29, 2022, 11:20:18 PM
In the current bear market conditions, we can see which projects are able to survive and maximize the coins that have been launched without losing their value.  Usually their strong team and developers are able to deal with any situation by carrying out marketing strategies or promoting coins that have been created so as not to lose the interest of investors and trading activities in them will not die.  what do you think about the benefits of a bear market besides taking the opportunity to make a purchase?

bearish market will be strong evidence to determine a really promising project in the future
You are saying that the bear market helps us know which coins and projects are good? During the bear market, almost all altcoin crashes very badly. This doesn't mean that the coins and projects aren't good one. To find out which projects are good, read the white paper, see what they are trying to achieve, see what problems they are trying to solve or if they have anything new to offer. Look at team and the community. A strong community means a good project (not talking about those "to the moon community").
652  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: September 29, 2022, 11:14:58 PM
I'd rather say now social media is one of the best places to do business. If we are able to do that then we can say we are quite good at seeing opportunities for profit. Now there are many places to start a business and social media is one of them. Broad reach, more efficient, that is one of the advantages when doing business on social media. And indeed now almost everyone transacts there.
Yeah it is actually one of the best way to do or promote your business. And if you are a small seller, you can also sell your products on the market place. Based on how many people are using social media and how large the different audiences are, it has actually become a decent place to reach different people around you very easily. I wouldn't say they are looking for more business than socializing. It is the socializing that is actually helping to create business in the social media platforms.
653  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: September 29, 2022, 02:09:35 AM
You will always lose money in the long run if you hold and save your money in the bank. Bank interest rates can never beat the inflation rate. The value of the money goes down, the price of the goods increases like you have shown in the picture.

You don't need to always purchase what you might need so that you don't get hit by the inflation. Better to invest and keep the money flowing. If you have money that you won't need, invest in bitcoin or other well known crypto currencies.
654  Economy / Economics / Re: Business failure among small-scale entrepreneurs on: September 29, 2022, 02:01:59 AM
Most of the companies that you have stated seems to be an international company or companies formed in other countries trying to expand in your country. I wouldn't blame them if they had to shut operations. Like you have said they shut down due to "operational difficulties". I guess it was some issues with the government or the local laws that has changed or due to some changes their profits are no longer enough to run their business in your country.

I wouldn't call them "small-scale entrepreneurs" if they have franchises and expanded to other other countries.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Kwon on the run, Binance becomes the target of the LUNC community. on: September 28, 2022, 08:27:36 PM

According to Interpol's website, Red Notices are "requests to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action."

I thuoght he is currently in the custody of the South Korean legal authorities, considering he said he would always be cooperative[1] with the legal consequences. The question is, is Do Kwon still under management with Luna Classic?

A few days ago, there was a Twitter trend of the BoycottBinance hashtag by the LUNC community, urging CZ to carry out the Burn Trading Fee mechanism which was finally implemented[2]. The initiative is still questionable, whether binance is really worried about losing a number of users, the new smartcontract protocol, or cz just wants to help holder losses in the past by this mechanism.

2. https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/4769eab576c4479eaa14adc1eb587226
Do Kwon said he isn't hiding from anyone and is still ready  to cooperate. At least that is what I heard last. He is still cooperative, the interpol just made an announcement that in case he tries to run away, to arrest him. He still isn't under the custody because he hasn't still been convicted or anything and things are still pending.

Binance was always in favor of the Luna classic community. They weren't scared of losing total number of users (i doubt it would affect them if all the luna classic holders boycotted them). I guess people weren't patient enough for Binance to implement the burn mechanism (which is actually going to optional and I wonder how many of those that wanted to boycott will enable the option to burn).
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Online casino/gambling projects on: September 28, 2022, 04:44:48 AM
I am starting to have this crazy interest in crypto gambling projects like online casinos and stuff but I want to ask, this utility have been around for years but is there any old project that live this long and still functions?

Also what are the things that kills such project because even one or two survived for long I don't see many alive till now, they fail easily or turn scam later.
Are you talking about those regular online crypto casinos? Well, there are lots and even more popping up every now and then, but only few managed to survive. And of course there are lots that has been around and still "functions" perfectly.

Or are you talking about those blockchain based crypto casinos? Well no one uses them because why would they need those casinos if normal casinos already exists? They don't offer anything new. They say they are "decentralized" but they aren't. The developers can control everything!
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How mentally prepared are you? on: September 28, 2022, 04:42:01 AM
I bet most of the newcomers aren't actually yet "mentally prepared". No matter how much they learn or know about the market, they won't be mentally prepared if they haven't faced the bear market (or the crash) at least once. Most of them end up selling everything at a loss.
-snip-

Also, please do not borrow money to invest in Bitcoin, and only invest what you can afford to lose.

Preach more but some people still borrow money to invest in crypto currencies. They hope that the price will go up within few days, take their profit and return the money they took. But that rarely happens and they end up broke and owing a lot of money.
658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: September 24, 2022, 03:36:40 PM
There are millions of people out there that are buying because they think that the price is close to bottom and wants to maximize their profits. And then there are people out there that are buying because they can afford to buy and "lose" their money. They don't care  what the current price is. But they both are willing to hold long term.

Why is it important to you if people are buying now or not? As long as you can afford to invest and willing to hold them, just invest and keep holding till you reach your profit goals. No need to wait for the bottom. No one can accurately predict when the bottom is!
659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance trading activity is 13x larger than any other exchange on: September 24, 2022, 03:08:56 PM
GM fam. If you do trade on an exchange, wanted to ask you about your favorite option so far.

Last week I was discussing with some friends the benefits Binance offers: quick trading, minor crashes within each year, and also the liquidity it already has created over the years.

They told me they preferred more risky options and not the classic ones.
I regularly trade with [MT4 + Broker] tho.

Just curious about how you think the in-exchange trading is evolving at the moment with this topic or news like the one I shared below [read today].

Source: https://tokenist.com/binance-trading-volume-now-larger-than-the-next-13-biggest-exchanges-combined/
Binance is the biggest, if not one of the biggest and well known exchange in the whole crypto market. Anyone who has heard of bitcoin has very likely heard of binance too. When they look for exchanges to buy or trade crypto currencies, they will  very likely have had stopped by at binance to have a look at the exchange. So it is very obvious that it will have one of the biggest trade  activity volume.

So why does your friends prefer more "risky options" and not the regular well known exchanges? Sounds plain stupidity to me.
660  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin or Netcoin ? on: September 24, 2022, 01:43:20 PM
Everyone here saying that bitcoin was a better choice when naming would have said that netcoin was a better choice if the name of the currency was netcoin today. People are so used to the word bitcoin, if any other name was chosen, it would sound weird to the people.

Maybe the first one was a typo? B replaced with N while typing..?

Bitcoin is better name. We have experience in naming and Bitcoin really describe the goal of it.
What goal does the name "describe"?
