1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine - Russia war crisis. Will Bitcoin be legalized soon? on: February 25, 2022, 11:50:17 PM
Little confused. How is bitcoin and crypto currencies going to help Russia with the sanctions? Maybe yeah, the bank sanctions and to save the oligarch and the rich. Even then nothing much can be done since all their asestes and bank accounts are already frozen. Would have been a different story if they moved to bitcoin before the sanctions. But how is it going to help with the supply chain? Anyone dealing with Russia and breaking the sanction would face criminal charges. The the other party dealing with Russia must be willing to accept the currency and do it without anyone noticing. The only thing they can evade is the banking sanction and the use of US dollars and EURO. And all those thing really doesn't matter to them. They have China.
1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using BTC vs. Using Credit / Debit cards and purchase tracking and privacy. on: February 25, 2022, 11:20:58 PM
I would say it is because using Credit / Debit cards are mainstream payment methods, hence we find (they offer) more discounts and cashbacks when paying using cards (fiat). And it's more like they are promoting their card (brand/card issuer) so users keep on using them even after the cashback offer is over. I guess once bitcoin becomes mainstream, we will be seeing the same cashback or discounts when paying with bitcoin. There are already some sites that gives you cashback or discounts when you pay with bitcoin. I think bitrefill and dundle are one of those. Bitrefill gives you back 1% while dundle gives you points based on your purchase.
Those rewards are not free money. They are paid by the merchants who must then increase the prices that you pay.
It's not the merchants that gives the reward. It is the CC issuer. Every time you make a POS transaction the merchant has to pay a small fee. They share the fee with you.
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your opinion ? on: February 25, 2022, 04:31:36 AM
Hello i had bought link for 1400euros for price about 31euros per link and now its about 10 euros per link
i wonder should i buy more link or should i go to a safer choise like bitcoin ? or get some ada with 0.67euro per ada ? ada price ATH ada was like 2.5 euro per ada ...

an links ATH was like 42euro per link...
what would you do if you were in my place?

every though is welcome!!! i just wonder what is the wiser choise of these 3 coins ada link and btc

All depends on you. Do you think Link will recover and go back to where it was? Then you can invest more in Link to bring down your average buy price and maximize your profit. But, yeah the risk is higher here. So if you want to play safe, then go for coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. If I were you, I would invest most of my money in bitcoin and then the rest in Link. Or you can invest in ADA if you are willing to hold for long term. Invest and stake them to earn passive rewards while you hold.
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was tempted to sell off altcoin on: February 25, 2022, 04:25:02 AM
Hello mate
Do we currently calls the market situation the bear or what?
Today I just opened my storage where i buy and stored most of my crypto coin and the rest I noticed have almost lost 60% of all my asset in dollars so I was tempted to sell off all and take a look at the market to know if there will be corrections, though I have been monitoring the market but I m not really convinced so I decided to share here to know whether I could get some people who  knows about the market to give a little breakdown before I go into such decisions.
I will really appreciate then i can know the reason for such action and decrease in most of the currencies especially BTC and BNB.

Thank you.

I will read all comments to see the reason.
Didn't you invest what you were able to afford to lose? Then why are you worried about the 60% drop of your assets? You shouldn't sell (unless you really need the money, but then again, you shouldn't have invested those money in the first place) anything. Keep holding until the bear market ends. Look at the charts and you will see that market crash like these happens, but eventually the price starts to recover again. As long as you aren't holding some shitcoins, you are fine. If those are some shitcoins, sell as soon as you can.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto prices are starting to strengthen again on: February 25, 2022, 03:28:08 AM
You spoke too early don't you think? The price started to crash right after you wrote this. Bitcoin and other altcoins went as down as much as 7% in few hours. This is how much volatile the market is. Just a little gain doesn't mean the price are recovering or "regaining strength". The market is still bearish and can crash further. The same is true when the price starts to drop a little during a bull run. It doesn't mean the bearish market has started. What I am trying to say is that those little rises or drops signifies nothing when the market is very volatile.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally got paid for some work in bitcoin on: February 25, 2022, 12:49:58 AM
I want to develop my writing skills to become more expert in order to be able to set my salary rates with Bitcoin.
You should develop your skill so that you can write better, not for getting paid in Bitcoin. No matter how bad or good you are, if the person doesn't want to pay you in bitcoin, you won't get paid in bitcoin. Developing your skills doesn't mean you will be getting paid in bitcoin. Look for freelancing platforms that are crypto oriented. Maybe post your gig their and you might get someone to hire you and get paid in crypto?
When our work is paid for in Bitcoin, it gives more satisfaction than being paid with fiat.
Why is that? Wouldn't you be already converting your btc to fiat sooner or later?
1127  Economy / Speculation / Re: The long term way is down on: February 24, 2022, 03:36:38 AM
I'm not confused that BTC will reach a new ATH this year anymore since we entered 2022 every recoveries are not strong, on the long run the way is always down, what do you think? I'm i wrong or right?
You are wrong. On the long run you think the price goes down? Have you looked at the charts? Zoom out and you will see that the price in the long run has always gone up. What you are looking at right now is the short term price of bitcoin. The price has already gone up a lot and we can't expect the price to keep on going up every day. This is how the market works. We have bullish market and then we have a bearish market. But after every bullish and bearish market, we always reach a support point. So the price won't keep on going down. It will reach a point where it won't go any further below. Will stay there for a while and then the bullish trend will start all over again.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need advice for a token before mass buying please on: February 24, 2022, 02:27:35 AM
-snip-

Are you sur ? because lot of people say its legit too...

-snip-
You mean a lot of "shillers" are shilling for that shitcoin? Ask them why they think it's legit and why they think it's a good coin. None of them will be able to give you a proper explanation or will just ignore you or call you an idiot (yes they will start insulting you if you question them).
You can clearly see on the chart that the price is getting pumped and then dumped. Of course its a scam token made for the imbeciles that will make the developers rich. Stay away from tokens like these. Most tokens that has "finance" associated with them are scam tokens.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most reliable coin to invest in is Bitcoin. on: February 24, 2022, 02:18:45 AM
Hello.

I have been investing in Bitcoin as well as other coins for a long time. Some of these coins have disappointed me. After reviewing investments so far, I have found that investing in Bitcoin is the smartest thing. Although the price of Bitcoin has dropped a lot, this coin does not disappoint me because I have full confidence in this coin. I think and believe that the price of this currency will not decrease for a long time, it will one day exceed its maximum value. Which happened towards the end of 2021.
Not decrease for a long time? Are you sure you are ready to invest in bitcoin and other crypto currencies? Back in 2017, bitcoin went up as high as 20k and went down back to 3k. The same thing can happen again. In fact, the price went down from $60k to $36k. So always be prepared for the price to crash.
Most of the top altcoins shouldn't be disappointing you unless you have decided to invest in one of those shitcoins that promised you a lambo.
1130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto asset prices weaken on: February 23, 2022, 04:25:29 AM
This is very normal. We can't always have a bullish market, can we? We never know what is going to happen to the  market and we are all aware how volatile things can get. So there is nothing to worry about. Keep holding during days like these.
Of course this is a big loss for the crypto market today.
Or may think this way. It's a big "opportunity" for investors today to maximize their profit. What I said stand more true than what you said because there is no loss as long as you don't sell.
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun alone? how true? on: February 23, 2022, 04:16:19 AM
Have you heard that some people gamble for fun and not necessarily to make money?
I find it hard to believe completely because who doesn't like to make some more money even if it is not needed.
If you knew the exact sum you were going to loose gambling, and you are the type that they say " gambles for fun", will you find it fun loosing that money still? will you return another day in awareness of how much you will loose and still want to loose for fun?
Yes, there are some people that gamble for fun. Have you seen how many players play on those casinos that are not based on real money and uses virtual currencies (chips) that has no value? Why would they play there if they didn't want to gamble for fun? And yeah, there are other people that uses real money and gambles with them to make real profits, but those profits or loss doesn't matter to them as long as they are enjoying. They use real money just for extra thrills. Loses are like "payment" for the entertainment and profits are like extra "reward" for them to extend their game time.
1132  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to tell when a trading bot is a scam on: February 23, 2022, 04:03:10 AM
-snip-
They tell you their bots are profitable without an audited track record.
-snip-
Not sure what you mean by "without an audited track record". Even if they have "an audited track record", no bots can give you guaranteed profit. If that was the case, then everyone would be using that bots with audited record you are talking about, right?
It is basic common sense. Don't use bots that aren't open source. Even if its open source, don't use it if you don't know how to read the code or at least understand what is happening. Don't use any bots where you won't have control of your own money.
1133  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Kraken CEO give a heads up to carefully use CEX on: February 22, 2022, 11:55:31 PM
It was something that everyone should have already known. Even if you have joined an exchange that doesn't require you to pass KYC to trade, they can freeze your assets if they are told to do so. They will have to comply no matter what. That's why it is better not to store your funds in an exchange. Done with your trading? Take them out and store them somewhere safe. Store them in wallets where only YOU have the control of the private keys. At least Kraken is being honest about it. No other CEX would like to admit about this issue.
1134  Other / Archival / Re: Why you shouldn't invest in NFT tokens on: February 22, 2022, 03:12:34 AM
IMO, all of these NFTs things especially for NFTs without any feature like Play2Earn.

More worst than ICO/IEO/Crowdfunding token, In token we can accept the loss and sell instantly because we have book order. Comparing to NFTs there is no single order book, If we have orderbook maybe only one offer and mostly just a joke offer like under 1$ or 99% from the current price.

That's the worst of this NFts things.
Those play2earn also sounds very fishy. I mean, only those who joins early are able to make everything, while others that join later can't make much and in the end they have to spend money to make money or else you will be making peanuts without spending anything. And it's the same thing over here. Buy some random stuffs and hope that you will get rich. Only the creators and those who got them early makes the profit, while others that bought them later due to the hype are stuck with those trash NFTs or items that have no use.
1135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins would you invest $ 1,000,000 in? on: February 22, 2022, 02:54:47 AM
If it is one of the three coins that you have mentioned, then it would be DOT. Invest in it and stake it (currently gives are more than 11% APY if I am not wrong). But no, I would never put a whole million dollar in DOT or any altcoins. Would rather split it and invest most of the money in Bitcoin and then the rest in different altcoins. Probably Ether, Cardano, Solana, MATIC and DOT.
1136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Summary of My Bitcoin Journey So Far on: February 22, 2022, 02:21:50 AM
Nice to know you how you joined a bitcoin ponzi, lost everything, but you still went after bitcoin instead of calling it a scam.
-snip-
To me, Bitcoin means control and the freedom to accomplish what I want without inhibition.
It does mean control and freedom, but you could have achieved the same thing with fiat currency. You could have made a blog and earn in fiat with the traffic. Or you could write for someone else and get paid in fiat like most people does.
You are correct if anyone has a talent they can offer those talents and try
to get payment in Bitcoin, it makes total sense, its acvtually earning Bitcoin
without KYC or AML.
But when you will have to exchange if for Fiat, you will very likely have to go through KYC or AML if you are using a centralized service.
1137  Economy / Economics / Re: Which business profit model do you prefer? on: February 21, 2022, 01:35:34 AM
Why limit your audience to rich or "not rich" (poor sounds weird here) only? You sell products only for the rich, you will missing the profit opportunities from the rest. The opposite is also true. Don't you think it's better to sell for both group of peoples? More like a hybrid class business which will server everyone according to their needs. This way you will have more customer base, maxing out your profit. In other words, the more diverse your customer base is, the more efficiently your business will bring in profit. Don't forget there are more "not so rich people" than rich people.
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Sandbox will likely recover? on: February 21, 2022, 12:28:56 AM
You mean you invested 10k USD on Sandbox when the price was high? Well, if you still have your tokens with you and holding, then you haven't lost 50% or anything. You still hold the same number of Sandbox token. You will make a loss once you sell it at the current price. And yes, very highly likely the price will recover. The market is currently all red, so keep holding until the market rebounds and starts to go up. Sandbox will very likely follow. And if you can, take advantage of this dip and buy more.
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Just Legalized Bitcoin on: February 19, 2022, 05:31:30 AM
I never heard that Bitcoin was illegal in Ukraine. Based on your post, it looks like bitcoin neither illegal nor legal in their country. Was in gray area like you said, which means trading bitcoin and other crypto currencies wouldn't put users into any legal trouble, nor would the government or their financial authorities would do anything for their people if they gets scammed using crypto currencies. I think it was better when it was in the gray area. You probably wouldn't have had to pay any taxes nor face any regulation. Would have been a whole different story if bitcoin was legalized and turned into a legal tender. But I guess legalizing is just one step closer to making it a legal tender.
1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.com.au in probelms for unwanted gambling advertising on: February 19, 2022, 03:29:38 AM
"Trying to unsubscribe"? You mean they haven't unsubscribed yet, hence they received the emails. Or they unsubscribed but received gambling promotional offers? If it is the latter, then the yeah, pay fines to the customers is justified, but if it's the former, then this makes no sense. Anyone can claim that they tried to unsubscribe, they couldn't and ask for compensation for the "damage" gambling has caused them. But this would make more sense if sportsbet did it on purpose (which I doubt) so people couldn't unsubscribe from their newsletter. Anyway, lesson learned. They will likely be more cautious now.
