5 bottles ordered today.  Prozak is quick to respond with PMs.  I will update this post when I receive tracking info, and I will post again later when I receive my order.

Can i mine Auroracoin with my digibyte mining equipment after the hardfork? Or are the miners different from digibyte?
The algorithms are in fact the same.  We look forward to your hashes!

Thanks for the fast response. I will certainly give it a try. I hope that the energy balance for Auroracoin mining is positive. At this moment it is not possible to mine Auroracoin profitable with my equipment.

No problem, mate.

I'm in the same boat as far as mining goes.  Pretty much everything is a loss when you are on tiered electric rates that go up to $0.37kw/h.  I for one am really looking forward to some additional options for mining.

Im affraid still one zero more... But not mind at all your prediction.

Btw, my android wallet stops at 18th march block and since few hours no more blocks downloaded - what to do in that situation? It show connected to 1 peer at mineabit.

Fixed the extra 0. will pass your post to the devs.

The previous android wallet is extremely outdated.  It will not sync further because the protocol number is no longer supported on the network(hardfork).

We are already looking at updating the Schlidbach wallet, and we've submitted for acceptance into the Coinomi wallet, although there seems to be little response from the Coinomi devs on any pull request.  Until we get either sorted out, you will need to use the hive web wallet wallet or desktop clients.  You should be able to export the android wallet though, so your coins should not be lost.

Is there a linux qt wallet available?

I downloaded sources on the website, and after:
Code:
./autogen
./configure
make
sudo make install

I don't see any qt wallet in the directory? Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

You can find a .deb file here: https://github.com/aurarad/Auroracoin/releases.  Let us know if that works for you.

I haven't tried the QT compile on linux, but I know BioMike has.  He might be able to lend some knowledge on how the QT compile worked for him.

I just wish we could throw our US bankers in jail and force our failed leaders to resign.  Kudos to my Icelandic friends!

I would like to acquire another 30,000-50,000 AUR at market rate. If you are looking to reduce your exposure to AUR and would like to do an OTC trade, please PM me here.

I'll jump on this train as well.

I would like to acquire 30,000-50,000 AUR at 1/20th market rate.  Wink

Using the addnodes gave me instant connection.

You guys should consider that people who never had this wallet are going to have connectivity issues without the addnodes.

regards

That's why you're seeing the following line in the debug.log file:

2016-03-31 23:31:40 4 addresses found from DNS seeds

We've added hardcoded DNS seeds to the wallet.  I would make sure you don't have any kind of firewall or AV issues at play here.  On the numerous fresh client, and even OS, installs I did during testing, I didn't have any issues connecting to an initial node.

I'd be interested in seeing the full debug.log file if you still had it from the first start.  If you could pastebin it and PM me a link, I'll take a look at it to see if there's anything odd in there.

Hi,

thank you for the info.
I have done what you said but it would still not sync.
To me it looks like that nobody has switched to the new wallet yet.

This is what i found in the debug log.....
2016-03-31 23:31:40 4 addresses found from DNS seeds
2016-03-31 23:31:40 dnsseed thread exit
2016-03-31 23:41:30 partner 92.203.233.14:62621 using obsolete version 1030000; disconnecting
2016-03-31 23:41:30 ProcessMessage(version, 99 bytes) FAILED
2016-03-31 23:52:33 UPnP Port Mapping successful.
2016-04-01 00:09:23 partner 213.239.202.92:41590 using obsolete version 1030000; disconnecting
2016-04-01 00:09:23 ProcessMessage(version, 99 bytes) FAILED
2016-04-01 00:13:16 partner 157.157.142.122:59757 using obsolete version 1030000; disconnecting
2016-04-01 00:13:16 ProcessMessage(version, 99 bytes) FAILED

1030000 is the original wallet. 2000000 is the first release the new team did.  3000000 is the newest wallet.

Deleting the peers.dat file and a fresh start on the client should have done the trick.  You could always add nodes to your conf file.  Here is a list of a few clients on protocol version 3000000 connected to the seed node I monitor:

80.248.18.176
37.97.135.213
87.213.74.218
5.23.88.112
80.236.18.96
98.115.147.74
136.243.71.152

If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, you add the line "addnode=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" to your auroracoin.conf file, replacing the x's with an IP.

How many bagholders does AUR have because of this asshole?

I wouldn't consider anyone here a bagholder as a result of Fontas.  I would think anyone caught in a Fontas AUR bull/bear trap would have probably sold and moved on by now.  But to be honest, I really don't think Fontas would have had the pull to make his claims true.  We're talking about something to the tune of 1400BTC in AUR at that time.  He would have had to have gotten in at the dip when it went to 0.002 and sold on the 0.01 spike.  I doubt he was playing the spread like that with that much coin.

Like I said, he was a troll at best.

That really is crazy, this person Fontas was the creator of Auroracoin?

No, he wasn't.

Fontas was a troll on the BTC-E troll box that used to trick people into pump and dumps so that he could make money himself.  He called one or two price increases, and everyone thought he was responsible for them.  So after that he would buy a ton of coin, announce a pump, pump the price and then immediately sell out and leave everyone holding the bag.  If you were smart enough to stay away from it, you were ok.  If you bought, hopefully you were smart enough to sell at the right point, because you could make some money off the people that would blindly listen to him.  If you weren't, well... a lot of people got out of crypto because people like him took them for all their coin.

this is a much welcomed development by Auora users in South Africa.

The new geo location feature waggle will be a novel way of tracking and communicating with other users in our immediate vicinity.

My immediate plan is to set small cafe's up with signs that say: "buy auroracoin here". these merchants will acitivily sell auroracoin instead of passively accepting it.

Accepting auroracoin is one thing but this does little to spread the use of the coin. Instead I have approached most of the Cafe's here in town and have explained how crypto-currency works and the benefits they can take advantage of when actually selling coins to the public.

We appreciate the enthusiasm of some of the followers here.  It is humbling that people would be excited to adopt AUR in places outside of Iceland.  However, the team is going to clearly state our goal once again: adoption of Auroracoin in Iceland.  We will not endorse any effort to use or promote AUR outside of it’s intended audience.  While members like Whistleblower and Adamastor would be a welcome resource here in Iceland, we will not endorse or condone any effort from them to make AUR an economic solution in Africa.

How about a slogan like: "Escape the bank, be your own bank"

Seeing as Icelanders have it out for the bankers.

For some reason, "Empowering financial freedom" comes to mind Wink

Would be cool though if there was hidden text on the poster, like ghost print.  At that point you could say whatever you wanted about the bankers. Grin

Just chiming in to say that I love the idea of the bus stop advertising.

With people waiting around for their ride, looking up AUR would almost be second nature.

The straightforward simplicity of the design is nice, which will give drivers on the roads, and those from a distance, some image impact also.

I understand that this is a "rough", and believe that since this is local and focused, those involved will know what works best, but wanted to point out that some kind of blurb that explains really quickly what AUR is could be a good idea to include, such as "Currency Empowering Financial Freedom", along with some finer print (for those up close) explaining how this will benefit the user, and of course a QR code, linking to an appropriate website.

Excited to see what is happening!

I think the guys were planning on including some info like that in text that can be read up close.  I don't think they were going to include a ton of info, but at least add the website and contact information for further research.  Maybe a little more, but not entirely sure.  I know the overall design goal is to be simple, clean, and highly visible.

From what the guys were saying, it seems most people know about Auroracoin in Iceland already because of the airdrop campaign.  I take this ad initiative as an awareness campaign of sorts, but the foundation members could probably give greater insight into the plan and goals.

Are you doing this out of the goodness of your heart?

After NLG, pretty much, mate.  I do own AUR, but anything short of my family on the verge of being homeless, I won't sell it until I step foot inside of Iceland's borders.  In fact, I'm probably the lowest holding member of the team.  In fact, I'm almost entirely certain I am.

I made enough coin over the years to consider my time in crypto worthwhile.  It's paid for xmas and birthdays and such over the years.  But honestly, mate... I just want to be involved with something where I'm at least appreciated and listened to.  Coming from the hell that was last year, I'm happy that they asked me to help with AUR.  I don't get paid anything, I don't even expect anything out of it.  If I can be a part of something worthwhile, that's all I need.

I know that might be hard to believe, but you should be able to recognize the difference between where we came from and AUR.

The effort is ''international'' - but the target and the ''direction'' is from Iceland, no doubt in my mind. Its a free world, but guys from US, Canada and Neatherland are all supporting the icelandic crew. And this icelandic crew is growing lately !  Larus, and Gudmundur joined Hlynur, Petur and Hermann - and i know for a fact that it is just a matter of time before way more people from iceland embrace the project actively.

The target is 330 000 angry ppl in iceland - and we are now planning the campaign circle May 1 - and I would like people here to focus on that matter ! I don't want to spoil the show, but I know that one of the effort may be a massive bus station Auroracoin poster exposure (100 bus station geant posters for 1 week so we attract people attention). Not sure if it's already decided by the icelandic crew - but it was something they considered a lot, and I think it would be a very good (but somewhat expensive) approach.

What you guys think ?

Please save us the sentimental bullshit, we are all here to make money from AUR, there is far more countries in a less fortunate situation then Iceland but Iceland is a easy target to get on the crypto train because it's a small country and everyone is in one city. Change comes from within not from abroad, coins like NLG are run by Dutch people and there is a good chance they care about what they doing because they exacting change within their own borders.

This is the same as the US invading the middle east to bring about change, how has this worked out? All dealings within Iceland must be done by the foundation members who are from Iceland not by the foreign developers.

So confused, mate.  So are you on the side of the foundation wanting to make their focus a coin for Iceland, or are you condemning them for having foreigners help with technical details?

Soltantgris even talks about something the foundation is looking into doing in Iceland, but you call his post sentimental bullshit.

Do you want to maybe clarify your position?

Are there any non for profit companies in Iceland that champion animals rights that would accept Auroracoin donations?

Considering the things people will eat in Iceland, I don't think you'll find a ton of organizations that are promoting animal rights.  Add the fact that most global conservation organizations have campaigns actively targeting Iceland, and you're 0 for 2.

However, if you're interested in something like this, why not reach out to http://www.ust.is/the-environment-agency-of-iceland/ and see if they partner with anyone.

Also, the team members native to the area might have some ideas.
