Is there a linux qt wallet available?

I downloaded sources on the website, and after:
Code:
./autogen
./configure
make
sudo make install

I don't see any qt wallet in the directory? Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

You can find a .deb file here: https://github.com/aurarad/Auroracoin/releases.  Let us know if that works for you.

I haven't tried the QT compile on linux, but I know BioMike has.  He might be able to lend some knowledge on how the QT compile worked for him.

For the deb I get in my Software Center:

Dependency is not satisfiable: libdb4.8++
I installed libdb5.1++-dev but libdb4.8++ is not available.
Any ideas?

I can run the windows wallet in my dual boot setup, but I would prefer to run the linux wallet.

Interesting read from last week before the turmoil started:

You'll have to get it from the bitcoin repo: https://launchpad.net/~bitcoin/+archive/ubuntu/bitcoin

In the next version we hope to tackle this issue by upgrading to a newer Berkeley DB version.

As for building from source, check the output of configure. It tells you if the Qt wallet will be build or not (and why).

auroracoin memories...
circa 2/2014 bought 4 coins for approx $100 on cryptsy. 1st alt coin i ever bought.
got me into crypto game.
cant remember how much btc that was at time.
and cant check my cryptsy history anymore for obvious reasons, lol.
i sold em on that 1st massive pump around march 2014 when they briefly hit almost $100 a coin. (my memory back then in $ not btc, lol)
they tanked and "scammed out" ( i just made that term up for lack of better description) shortly thereafter...
jeezus how times have changed in crypto world eh?

Bitcoin...the future of all monetary transactions...and always will be

The previous android wallet is extremely outdated.  It will not sync further because the protocol number is no longer supported on the network(hardfork).

We are already looking at updating the Schlidbach wallet, and we've submitted for acceptance into the Coinomi wallet, although there seems to be little response from the Coinomi devs on any pull request.  Until we get either sorted out, you will need to use the hive web wallet wallet or desktop clients.  You should be able to export the android wallet though, so your coins should not be lost.

http://cointelegraph.com/news/icelands-pirate-party-tops-opinion-polls-leader-seeks-to-create-switzerland-of-bits

Just one question please, by reading this article I noticed the following''  Iceland became one of the few jurisdictions to ban digital currency outright in March 2014''

If digital currency is ban how are you allowed  to start to put huge posters in all 100 bus terminals? it would not be against the law as digital currency is ban? if digital currency is banned in Iceland how can you start an exchange or anything else? I know I am missing something and I like to understand this as I think Aurora has a good future if all goes according to plan but I need to understand the above.

Thanks

This statement "Iceland placed an outright ban on cryptocurrencies late in 2014" is completely false.

Iceland never put a ban on cryptocurrencies, this was a massive misunderstanding. The reason for the misunderstanding is that the central bank gave a statement that they would not make an exception on the capital controls and sell the public foreign currency for the purpose of purchasing cryptocurrencies.

Auraráð, the Icelandic Auroracoin foundation has sent legal requests to The Central Bank of Iceland, The Financial Supervisory and the Directorate of Internal Revenue requesting legal stance on trade and usage of cryptocurrencies. All of them responded (the letters were posted somewhere back in the thread) where they stated that there is nothing illegal with using cryptocurrencies nor trading them for products or the Icelandic Króna (ISK). Later we even got a statement from the Directorate of Internal Revenue (tax authorities) that trading cryptocurrencies with ISK is considered a currency trade and as such it should not bear VAT.

Just clearing up the misunderstanding again. Smiley

Thank you very much LTEX for the explanation, all its very clear. Someone should write to the cointelegraph to rectify that sentence as its false.

Can i mine Auroracoin with my digibyte mining equipment after the hardfork? Or are the miners different from digibyte? I mine now with Qubit digibyte.

Thanks for the fast response. I will certainly give it a try. I hope that the energy balance for Auroracoin mining is positive. At this moment it is not possible to mine Auroracoin profitable with my equipment.

No problem, mate.

I'm in the same boat as far as mining goes.  Pretty much everything is a loss when you are on tiered electric rates that go up to $0.37kw/h.  I for one am really looking forward to some additional options for mining.
