2001  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to lure Satoshi out in the open [cannot possibly fail] on: October 29, 2012, 05:58:42 PM
Your plan has a huge flaw...
The 50 BTC reward of the genesis block can't be spent. The network will not accept them.

You should research a little more before coming with those masterplans of yours...
2002  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin China translation? on: October 29, 2012, 06:51:13 AM
Google translate doesn't work through SSL does it?

It does work if you use the Google Chrome translation plugin.

You have overlooked a pretty serious flaw molecular

Half now, the other half when I detail the fix.

2004  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: October 29, 2012, 06:08:46 AM
My first attempt at broadcasting an offline transaction with Armory kept silently failing. Logs show "ConnectionError: Connection to localhost DNE" despite Armory showing "Connected" status on the main screen and current block number.

I finally had to use command line bitcoind sendrawtransaction on the full tx hexcode in the log. Would be nice if the "Copy Raw Tx" button included the signature.

Thanks for creating Armory; small tip included in tx 4e347493f888f21d2f4163171c5ec20bc7c965df0aba83934e7880e9e5c829c2

Using Armory 0.82.2 on Win7-64 with Bitcoin-qt 0.7.1.

Code:
2012-10-28 22:22 (ERROR) -- armoryengine.pyc:479 - Traceback (most recent call last):
File "qtdialogs.pyc", line 6122, in broadTx
File "ArmoryQt.py", line 1896, in broadcastTransaction
File "armoryengine.pyc", line 9154, in sendTx
ConnectionError: Connection to localhost DNE.

This problem has come up quite a few times in the past, but it was so long ago I honestly don't remember if it was ever resolved.  However, there have been some networking-related bug fixes since then.  Please download 0.82.4 and try again:  https://github.com/etotheipi/BitcoinArmory/downloads

inglian, are your network connections limited on bitcoin.conf? If so, take out the limit.
I faced similar problems when I had the number of connections limited to 25, so Armory would only connect to the bitcoin client when one of the regular network clients dropped it's connection.

My post above contained a tracking beacon which was logging IPs & useragents; the link in my post went to a free hosting provider which I set up using a manner of techniques to log information about visitors (using JavaScript, PHP, and an embedded flash player which was requesting a video from my server), and then after a few seconds forwarded you to a legit blog post.
Fascinating! How can you possibly embed such code in a forum post? Surely this indicates a serious bug in SMF, the forum software?

One of the IP addresses you mention is mine, and I'm not joe23. Thanks for doing the xx.xx'ing - I'd hate to have a bunch of you guys suddenly trying to hack my box!
As theymos said, just an image: a simple 1px transparent gif hosted on a server which logs IPs of those who requested it.

If you wanted to catch only joe's IP you should've sent him a PM and not post in in this thread.

BTW, joe is gweedo. Why? Because gweedo can't stand BitcoinINV lol
I thought of that, but if I was in his shoes I would have find it quite suspicious of being asked to click a link, especially with a strange free hosting domain name, but hey, I'm paranoid by nature.

No need to click any link. You just embed it as an image on the PM just like you did in the thread reply. PM's can also use bbcode.
As soon as he opened the Messages page, which has your latest 20 or so messages showing, it would call your script and you'd have the data you wanted, but without all the garbage Wink

How can you possibly embed such code in a forum post?

It's called an image. Thankfully, only the 1337est of hackers can master this arcane technology.

eh, after all theymos has sense of humour. lol

This is yet another reason that when your ignore button gets dark enough the user should automatically be given the douche bag tag and their posts should not longer be visable anywhere unless other users click on them.
gee... Thanks a lot for that...

Now back on topic.
I'm also an ex-con. And so what? Am I less of a person because I decided to stand for what I believed and got sent to jail because of it?

I have pointed my 7970 in your direction and even my cpu as may aswell let the 8 core do something other that just idle around.
also about the layout issue here what i mean.

Even tho mining here is less profitable for me i'm not really that bothered as it will help you get started.

When you wish to report layout issues on some site it's very important saying what browser you are using. Version number included Wink
2014  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [3600+ BTC] on: October 28, 2012, 05:21:15 PM
You guys having problems pressing buttons use android, correct?

Yes, I use Android.
The iPads and iPhones have a kind of a magnifying glass, isn't it?
No, they simply autocorrect you. It's some kind of magic feature, but i have no problems at all at pressing the 5-pixel-height "new" button, nor the reply to this thread link.
And i have big fingers, it's just that somehow something fix it for me.

What about the pagination numbers at the bottom or top of the threads?
I can't even press the forward arrow (») as somehow it always presses the last page number or the All link lol

When I said custom css I was thinking mostly along the lines of having buttons for pagination and new replies that could be pressed with a finger.
Having no scrolling is a good start, but pagination and the new replies button are the biggest problems.

So you want bigger text for page links and "new reply", etc.?

I've never used a smartphone, so I'm not sure what's needed...

Not the post new reply link, if that was what you were thinking, as you said "bigger text". I meant the image that opens unread replies on a thread.
Pagination and clicking that image are the biggest difficulties, at least for me, and I use a tablet. I can only imagine how much pinching to zoom people will have to do on a smartphone lol
2017  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accepting BitCoins on website on: October 28, 2012, 04:13:30 PM
As long as you're willing to code a solution to fit your website you can base it on the Armory Daemon here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92496
No blockchain to deal with, no bitcoins to steal.

You'll probably need to integrate it with the blockchain.info API to check when payments arrived or something.
One of the following should suit you.

2019  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isis ATP [Automated Trading Platform] - Discussion on: October 28, 2012, 02:33:18 PM
Noticed two crashes, I believe network dropped causing xchange to halt. Other than that, it's running quite well. Not enough action to see how well it will trade, but it is trading.

Yup, it's trading. But it crashes when there is no network connection to the internet.
