And why is it that you need to know everything that goes on with other peoples business?
I explained that in the very post that you are responding to. If I don't know how something could be possible, I can't consider that possibility. I wouldn't know what I'm considering. So if you think I need to consider some possibility, then you should also agree that I need to know how it could be possible.

Is it such a difficult concept to grasp that some people know some stuff you don't know and that they are not obliged to disclose their trade secrets to you?
No, I grasp that concept. Did you read the post you're responding to? It was explaining the consequences of the very thing that you claim I don't grasp.

Do you also camp 24/7 on Coca-Cola's HQ's demanding their recipe so you can understand how it can be so delicious without using cocaine?
2843  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 15, 2012, 11:43:42 AM
Unfortunately, there is no way to do that, yet.  I was just posting a week ago about how I wanted Armory to maintain its own blockchain files, and if I did that Armory would be able to connect to any trusted full node.  At the expense of having the blockchain data duplicated by Armory.

So this is not currently possible, but I see it as a huge benefit to carrying through with this idea (and a drawback, a lot of users don't want the blockchain data duplicated in the case that Armory is connected to localhost).

Why do you talk about blockchain data duplication?
I would use Armory exclusively if I could.
Between new wallet format not supported to import and the fact that I need bitcoind/bitcoin-qt running to use Armory I just use Bitcoin-qt.
2844  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 15, 2012, 11:23:37 AM
You consider that since you dont know how something makes money, its just not possible ? I guess trade secrets and the likes is also nothing but magic.
No, that's not what I said, please try reading it again. It's not that I don't know how it makes money, it's that I don't know how it could be possible that it makes money. So if I try to consider the possibility that it's making money, I literally have no idea what I'm considering.

have nothing against you personally JoelKatz but your approach to validating if something is fact or fiction in the businessworld is absurd. You dont have to believe in it but for the love of spacemonkeys making statements that since you cant imagine how it is functional therefore it cannot exist is beyond retarded.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that if I don't know how something could be possible, I cannot consider the possibility of it. I literally don't know what it is I would be considering. My very first step in reasoning would be blocked as I tried to consider the consequences of an unknown thing.

The site is always erroring as soon as I login and refresh the page or go to any other page.
Logged out, it all works.

Fixed. I confirm it was a browser's session size overflow, due to the high number of referrals. Now it should scale to hundred of thousands. :-)

Seems ok now. Thanks!
2846  Economy / Goods / Re: Anonymous Instant Reloadable VISA card on: August 14, 2012, 09:20:41 PM
I have noticed that bzwbk keeps the deposit in PLN even if it's a EUR card, since the balance varies even if there is no transactions..

Never seen that on my card. Huh

Late to the ponzi party, are we?

At least you're openly admitting it now.

Still would be interesting to see these advocates of transparency provide the information that they themselves assert is publicly available.

Are you from this planet? The only person late is you, with all the times people posted his identity in these type of threads before.
Scream PONZI a little more.
2848  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 14, 2012, 09:04:35 PM
Interesting turn of events. Even so, the core ponzi scam can probably continue for some time, along with the various leeching schemes.

Clawbacks can't happen unless operators and other participants are positively identified. However, if someone slips up, it is possible that a dedicated set of doxers could trace things back quite a ways. Most people do not have the combined skill and discipline to maintain perfect anonymity. With any luck, the trail will permit for some to be identified.

We know what pirate looks like and also his name, unless he gets plastic surgery and lives in the form of Michael Jackson its even more unlikely he would be able to just vanish.

Really? What is his name? Source?

Late to the ponzi party, are we?

Send me a PM with the deposit address used as login, I will try to do some debugging.

PM sent.

Maybe there is something dirty in the browser's session... could you try to delete cookies?

Does it happen to anyone else?

No. I can't logout beause all I get is an error. I have to close the browser.
This been happening for at least one month, altho it was manageable. Today just got worse. After login, no more pages open.
I tried with Chrome and Firefox. Same result.
I delete the cookies and it works, but after the cookie is set again after a new login it gives the same error.

"To withdraw € 150 from an ATM on the Eurozone you pay €2.5"
It depends on who is the ATM owner and what kind of card you use. The "cashgroup" ATMs have lower fees.

I'm talking about using an EUR card exactly the same as DeanC sells to withdraw money on an ATM that dispenses EUR currency.
The ATM's have no saying on the fees value. Fees are fixed by the bank/VISA.
2853  Economy / Goods / Re: Anonymous Instant Reloadable VISA card on: August 14, 2012, 10:56:00 AM
To withdraw € 150 from an ATM on the Eurozone you pay €2.5, so you would need a € 152.5 balance to withdraw €150.

Do your math when sending money.
If you withdraw paper cash on other currency than euros you'll be charged conversion fees.
2854  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 13, 2012, 08:23:36 PM
2)  were Bitcoinmax payments made today?

3)  Does Pirate ask you to re-invest all each week to get a better rate?

Why are you interested in knowing? Someone owes you something?
You should've been paid already? Is your payment missing?
Need (re)investment advice?
What?
2855  Other / Meta / Re: Proposed removal of Matthew N Wright from forum staff. on: August 13, 2012, 03:59:59 PM
SOLUTION: change "staff" title to "janitor" title. Problem solved. Grin Grin

Joke not as that really is the solution.
Staff subtitle is a curse when you wish to say something someone may not agree with.

I think we have some new information.

[pirate, psy, clipse, miscreanity, PatrickHarnett, imsaguy, BurtW] on the street corner or back alley:

I would hang on a street corner or back alley with any of them faster than I would with you.

Does it happen with version 0.81?

I've been looking trough my logfiles and the oldest transaction that I remember it happening was already using 0.82.1.
2859  Other / Meta / Re: Proposed removal of Matthew N Wright from forum staff. on: August 13, 2012, 02:15:17 PM
That said, As I've mentioned before I think some sort of notice that 'the staff' are talking as 'the staff' would help, and would probably happen a lot naturally as it is anyway, and lacking any such notice you should assume the person in question is not speaking as 'the staff' but as themselves

Those notices are normal. I guess you don't see them much because, unlike most forums, bitcointalk.org moderators usually don't moderate discussions. They tend to do more background work, be it deleteing spam posts or deleting/moving off-topic replies.
Kinda hard to digest when people are expecting censorship instead of free-speach.
