2821  Economy / Gambling / Re: Put you BTC where your mouth is and bet for or against Pirate for Aug. on: August 16, 2012, 02:21:52 PM
The bet ends in less than 4 weeks.  4 weeks in BS&T at 7%/week compounded earns you 31%.  The bets are currently 3:1 in favour of not defaulting, and will presumably go further in that direction as the end of the month approaches.  So it's better to put your money into BS&T than to bet against the default at the moment.
Not if you believe it's gonna default.

So, where are the best in favour of the default?
If it's so easy money why don't they bet?

"way too lazy to deal with experimental software"

You shouldn't be using Bitcoin at all, then.

Is there any chance you would change the rewards address for me?

It's not possible to change the rewards address because I can't be sure that you are owning the account you claim as yours.

Is there any way that you'll believe me that I own the account?

Maybe if you sign a message with the address private key.

2825  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How would you like to design a bitcoin banknote? on: August 15, 2012, 09:49:46 PM
I noticed in the SVG file that some of the elements (specifically: the grid lines in the background and the mathematical formula) are not vectors, they are base64-encoded PNGs. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this or worked around it.

The mathematical formula is originally an SVG, not sure how it got included as a png when I composed the full note.
Still working on converting the grids into SVG, but it isn't as easy as I told you on my PM and not really sure if I can do it without making them from scratch.
2826  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: August 15, 2012, 09:20:00 PM

Greetings,

I've been mining for a bit and I'd like to participate in your forums.  I'm an IT pro with about 20 years of experience in hardware and software.  I've been toying with all the miners and I have a fair bit to contribute.

The reason I'm actually asking for whitelisting is because I was recently scammed on a craigslist ad for hardware by a person named Andrew Nollan.  I would like to post to thread about him.  Turns out he seems to have quite a history on these boards. This person has sold me one good bit of hardware off craigslist, and one bad one.  He has made promises he has not kept regarding the replacement of the bad item, and I think I see a pattern now that i've googled the guy....Seems like he has a history of being a scam artist.  And boy can he talk a good line!

It looks as though he uses the nickname 'Shakaru' -  let me know.

Are you vouching for him?
A simple yes or no is enough.

I dont know the guy, but he seems sincere, I will vouch for him if it makes any diff...    yes..

OK. He's whitelisted.
2829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Uh, support for combining balances? on: August 15, 2012, 08:59:10 PM
Let me say this in a simple way in which even I, a simple Bitcoin user, can understand it.

Transaction inputs must be comprised of previous outputs.
Doesn't matter that your address had a combined balance of 0.005 BTC.
If that "balance" was there because there were 500 outputs from previous transactions, then, when you send those 0.005 BTC the transaction will have as inputs all of those 500 previous outputs, not a single input of 0.005 BTC.

Get it?
Relevance?

here, let me make it so that even you, as a simple bitcoin user, can understand it:

Was it ever in question that this is how it works?

Let me see if I got this straight:
You want to change the Bitcoin Network Protocol to suit your whims and gambling needs?
Roll Eyes

Is that a YES?

This is an AWESOME article. Expect at least 20 new ~10k USD players from this one.

Damn. $10k USD! That's almost as much as what Micon earns on an entire year playing poker as a pro!
2833  Economy / Goods / Re: Anonymous Instant Reloadable VISA card on: August 15, 2012, 08:30:11 PM
I would not recommend anyone to buy these cards from DeanC,

Me and dean settled on 6 BTC for 2 cards which I sent and extra, without asking, for shipping. I PM 2 days later asking what up and he tells me there is a holiday and cant ship til monday, he offers 1 extra card and I said no because I seriously doubt he has any in stock, if he told me about this prior I would have gladly waited but there was no mention of delay

He claims he is a good seller so this is why I a here, He is the very opposite of reliable and lacks in communication when its necessary, If you wanna spend money and wait for a week for excuses use DeanC,

I think you should have taken his offer of 1 extra card Tongue

2837  Economy / Securities / Re: HEMP ? on: August 15, 2012, 06:16:07 PM
This is an excellet idea.
I may become a farmer and collect funding like this. lol

Hemp is state subsidized at the tune of €200/ton in Portugal.

Don't waste your 8 bitcoins, this will never make it to IPO and will never be listed.

This isn't an official statement, I don't work for GLBSE, but they don't allow any kind of drug-related issue and I've seen them turn down numerous such ideas. Regardless of whether or not it's a good idea or not, it will bring the heat down hard on Nef and he knows it.

My advice is to send an e-mail to support@glbse.com and not post threads like this here anymore, you should check with support@glbse.com instead of trying to drum up public support for an issue like this. Just a thought ^^

I was mostly joking. Farming is not my thing.
But did you read what I wrote? You think the Portuguese government or any European government(there are 18 that subsidize hemp) would subsidize Cannabis? They subsidize Industrial Hemp.
Plus, if GLBSE allows selling Pirate Pass Troughs I don't see why they wouldn't allow an Industrial Hemp business.

2839  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 15, 2012, 05:46:10 PM
A 5000BTC bet is minimal in the entire picture.   So, he probably doesn't care too much about just 5000BTC.

Also, the change in interest is not a default.  (So, bet is still active)
You might want to reread what was actually defined as a default.

You might want to read the other section of the bet that states that Pirate must give 30 days notice for any change in interest. Pirates original change was stated in July to be active in August and was fine, but now he has only given 1 week notice to the new lower rates

You might want to read this
FYI, here is my interpretation.

Since the existing ToS includes the provision for pirate's ability to change interest rates "with notice", this latest change in interest rates does not violate the terms of the bet contract, even though it did not itself have a 30 day notice. The term "interest rates" was only used as an example of terms that may change in ToS; the list of examples was not intended to be either exhaustive or necessarily-inclusive. The point of the ToS changes section and advance notice thereof, was to make sure that users are given ample notice for any unexpected material changes.
