2001  Other / Off-topic / Re: Emails or the postcards? on: May 28, 2019, 09:50:33 AM
We all know in our previous days we used the post office to send the mail to our friends and relatives but right now the email really helpful for that but what do you think which is more useful and which will be more safer?

In terms of communicating faster and more efficiently cost-wise, we already know that email can be the winner. However, it does not mean that postcards are already worthless because there are still many good and big companies mailing their marketing materials this way. In fact, in the fight for customers' attention, I think the postcard can still win (i.e., my email is always clogged and I don't have the time to read them all). In other words, even in our modern and high-tech world, some of the traditional things we used to can still be effectively used to deliver specific functions. And as for me, I would love to receive an email message but a postcard can be a delight (especially if there is a postage stamp attached to it).

These include Binance, Bitfinex, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, bitFlyer, Gemini, itBit, Bittrex and Poloniex.

Good to see Binance as one of the 10 (out of 83 exchanges) which passed the litmus test conducted by Bitwise on the concern of fake trading figures. I am not sure why Kucoin is not part of the list. Oh well, the truth can really hurts but this is very necessary that we expose this thing right now so that soon this can be avoided. Fake data can have many repercussions in the cryptocurrency industry and for people to take us seriously there is a need to weed out this bad practice done by many exchanges.
2003  Other / Off-topic / Re: exploring the dark web on: May 28, 2019, 09:25:01 AM
No, I'm was too paranoid that everyone is watching me and that my machine could be infected by malicious malware and viruses so I don't dare to go on the dark web, not even once.

I am actually curious about the Dark Web especially that many are saying that this actually is even bigger than the usual web we are used to (am I correct with this?) but then just like you am also afraid of what I might encounter in that side of the internet. All I understand is that it is a place where people are selling and buying illegal stuffs (which authorities are always on the lookout). Can anyone share us any link which can be the guide to the dark web so we can't be ignorant about this world?
2004  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-27] South Africa President’s Son Wears Bitcoin Socks on: May 28, 2019, 09:13:04 AM
They had a interesting talk with him, here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2My-ELpI4c

It is no secret that he wants to link nature conservation with Cryptocurrency and that he is invested in this technology. Here he is seen wearing a Bitcoin hat, https://citizen.co.za/news/south-africa/1997333/entering-a-different-digital-world-with-tumelo-ramaphosa/

It is no guarantee that he would have influence over the decision makers and regulators via the president of that country.  Roll Eyes Politics are a very peculiar thing.  Roll Eyes

Yeah, I understand what you mean, politics is just like the weather that can be changing its direction anytime. However, compared to ordinary guys like me this guy has more chances in pushing his crypto-related endeavors in his own country. Let's hope that more and more people will get into bitcoin in South Africa.
2005  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC stoping withdrawls! on: May 28, 2019, 08:00:54 AM
I see no reason why they should stop withdrawal without any form of notice if it is as a result of technical issue, but wait, what are you still doing with exchange like Hitbtc when we have other reliable exchanges. You don’t have to invest in any coin you don’t find on reliable ones like Binance, bittrex and other top exchanges. HitBTc is one hell of an exchange that registers scam projects a lot and most of the projects on it end up turning shitcoin. You must have got yourself involved too in some of these shitcoin that made you to consider that exchange for use.

Of course, unless there is now really a big problem with HitBTC and they deliberately stopped withdrawals for possible exit scam later (hope they won't do that as I believe that this exchange can still survive). I am aware that HitBTC is deluged with many complaints big and small and that is why I am always careful in dealing with the site and just use it when the token is just using HitBTC and nothing else. There are now many good and reliable exchanges and it is time that we deal with reliable ones with exceptional customer support and more user-friendly platform. Let's see if HitBTC can weather this crisis or will this be its end?
2006  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automatic growth signals for coins on Binance on: May 28, 2019, 07:49:56 AM

You seem to have an interesting offer here. I am not good in trading actually there are even many terms I don't fully understand and I have a hard time reading charts and those iconic candles. Now, this can be the reason I seldom do trading on any crypto exchange. Now, please tell me,  do you have a guarantee that the software you are marketing are all working? Can you share to us some verifiable testimonies from your satisfied users?
2007  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best activities happened this week to read more in crypto world on: May 28, 2019, 07:31:51 AM
I am very much awaiting the development of Facebook and Telegram to develop and issue their flagship coins and what I am waiting for the most global coins from Facebook starting yesterday is that there are many problems about Facebook and it turns out that in 2020 they will be ready to launch, this is a very good development there will be hype everywhere helping other cryptocurrency improve specifically and for Bitcoin, let's wait for the development of news that you think is very important.

There will always be excitement and hypes surrounding this move by Facebook to join the cryptocurrency frenzy. Considering that Facebook has the platform, resources, expertise of marketing and many other factors, there is a  big chance that GlobalCoin can be one of the most known altcoin soon. There will always be critics and of course with Facebook some are raising concerns on the privacy of the coin and if this will not be another instrument for Facebook to gain more data and monetized them in the marketplace. Well, there will always be speculations but I prefer for now to just wait for the final product before I make my own judgement.

2009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The crypto exchange industry is saturated - Agree or disagree? on: May 28, 2019, 06:58:22 AM
As what I have seen in the crypto market nowadays, new exchanges keep emerging. But why? Is it because they want to compete with Binance, Okex, KuCoin, etc., and believe that they would surpass them? In my opinion, there's no way that these new exchanges would surpass the big players in the market. Thus, it's already saturated no matter what "magic" or unique feature that they had.

You have a point. However, let me add that maybe we have a saturation with unreliable and potentially problematic cryptocurrency exchanges as there seems to be a rush now to put up and introduce similar platform to take advantage of the expanding market. We are in the open market and so it is just natural that a healthy competition can ensue. As they are saying, the more the merrier the better. Of course, some of these players will wither under the sun and die a natural death due to lack of business. Let the fittest survive.

In conclusion, we have a saturation yes at some point but generally speaking there remains to be the demand for good, reliable, transparent, user-friendly and innovative cryptocurrency exchanges (and may I add a decentralized one but is convenient and offers the better experience that what can be found presently as I hate the current decentralized format).
2010  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fundamental Analysis May 2019: Fundamentals stronger than 2017 Surge on: May 28, 2019, 06:43:22 AM
So as a result of your analysis then bitcoin would be way stronger this time, the bull run this year will have more price growth and may destroy previous ATH last 2017.Bitcoin will now create a new ATH and an history again after almost 2 years of agony in the market.

Seems to me that this is the main idea with the analysis above. And if it can be true, then we can and should expect bitcoin to go beyond the $20,000 (or almost, others might say) achieved in 2017. Well, we can determine that the market this time around is different and people in the market are more matured compared two years ago. In fact, this year, people can not anymore be easily swayed by FUDS and even some bad news are not taken into consideration. Maybe we have already learned the big lessons of the past and we are applying them today.
2011  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Consider the recent rise it is now more important then ever keep the coin secure on: May 28, 2019, 06:26:14 AM
First of all Congratulations to all the holders! As you know crypto is not the most stable investment out there, there are a lot of cases of banks refusing to pay or accept crypto payments. Don't get me wrong since the popularity of cryptocurrencies’ it has become more widespread, there has been a massive shift in the mentality of banks towards cryptocurrencies, however it is important to know who you can trust. Good luck

I am aware that generally the banking industry is having a difficult time deciding whether to work with cryptocurrency or to reject it altogether. However, since many of the people in the banking sector is now realizing that there is a huge amount of money they can make if they participate in cryptocurrency, we now have some banks who are open-minded enough to join the frenzy. I am sure these good banks will eventually get benefited by their pioneering moves. But then again, the stability of the cryptocurrency market has nothing to do with what banks are doing as there will always risk involved here and in any type of investment vehicles. We have to remember that banks are likened to sharks they can smell blood (money) miles away. Years from now, we might see the banking industry integrating with the cryptocurrency industry establishing a good and profitable relationship. Money is the great motivation of them all.
2012  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Next Bull Run on: May 28, 2019, 06:12:36 AM
The next bull run is already here, I don't know if this thread is looking elsewhere for the bull. Price breaking $8,0.. is a sign that we are approaching $9 / $10,000 soon.

if I have the power to move the market, I would do that as it would surely give me a nice return even buying at the current price now.

Unfortunately for you, you don't have such powers, so price will not move at your pace but with the way it is already going  Grin

This exactly is the problem, prices don't seems to move in the way we sometimes except but I am optimistic this will go in the way of bullish though. Anything is very possible in this crypto space.

We could not expect that the market would be following our own wishes...we are all just part of this ecosystem and there are many factors and players involved in this marketplace though our own actions can create ripples. As for bitcoin holders, being optimistic is the first and foremost requirement otherwise we should just left this industry. Right now, things are getting very bullish and soon bitcoin can be going to the "moon" to the delight of all its supporters. The bull run is happening right now but it is not entirely like what we experienced in 2017 where it went parabolic.
2013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Long term advance notice! on: May 28, 2019, 05:59:32 AM
What makes you believe Wright and company have the means to do that? Just because he says so? Grin They may have thousands of coins to dump and a non-negligible amount of hash rate, but I think the market will roundly reject their attempts to push the price down. Like 2012 and 2016, there will probably be a selloff near the halving and they may push the market even further down, but I'm confident their sells will be absorbed (like the last two halvings) and miners will continue to invest in BTC mining. These guys are just like any other whales that try to manipulate the market in the wrong direction. The market will chew them up and spit them out if they try.

In my own opinion, we have a more mature market right now compared to many years ago when people can easily be swayed by FUDS and baseless opinions. I don't think CSW has that capacity he mentioned in that post. He is just bluffing and he is enjoying if he can fool even just one person much more if he is gaining the attention of thousands. Let Craig Wright say whatever he wants to say -- the more we listen to him the more he is encouraged to send us more jokes.
2014  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-27] South Africa President’s Son Wears Bitcoin Socks on: May 28, 2019, 03:40:14 AM

It isn’t often that a country’s leader has the limelight taken away from them during their inauguration ceremony but that is exactly what happened to newly-elected South African president Cyril Ramaphosa on his swearing-in event on Friday when his son decided to wear Bitcoin-themed socks.

The son of South Africa’s president, Tumelo Ramaphosa, somehow managed to look fashionable with the rather noticeable socks sporting the orange Bitcoin logo. But apparently, this is not the first time he has been caught showing off Bitcoin wear...

...the young man claims to have found Bitcoin in 2010 and has been working on plans of digitization of cattle ownership and other assets for locals through the StudEx startup in a bid to fight rising prices of livestock and rare animals. He also plans to help launch a blockchain-focused university for young entrepreneurs in South Africa.

Further Read: https://bitcoinnews.com/south-africa-presidents-son-wears-bitcoin-socks-to-swearing-in/

I think that the bitcoin community has a strong and influential support in the person of Tumelo Ramaphosa which can mean a lot for the promotion and adoption of bitcoin in South Africa. We are hoping that this publicity is just the start for a colorful and successful history of bitcoin in this country. Go go go South Africa...

2015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's real exchange volume has now surpassed global gold exchange volume on: May 28, 2019, 03:28:05 AM
The Bitcoin exchanges listed below have all been confirmed to have no wash-trading or fake order books. Seriously amazing progress from the $200M daily volumes in February.

https://twitter.com/kerooke/status/1133092807411982336

I believe Mike Novogratz has pointed out that at a $150 billion market cap compared to gold's $8 trillion, bitcoin has a long way to go to reach fair value. This is fascinating, and the growing legitimacy of bitcoin is supporting this view. The rush to bitcoin in countries ravaged by hyperinflation is affirming that bitcoin is a store of value.

I am not wondering why bitcoin and gold are always compared...can be because bitcoin is considered as digital gold and both investment vehicles share many similarities (though some variance also). The gold market is huge but bitcoin is catching up and has the potential to one day be equal literally and figuratively. Bitcoin is now considered as another safe haven which can function well during times of crisis and problems...the same function that gold is doing. Seriously speaking, bitcoin has a long way to go to catch up with gold but since this is still relatively young this is quite understandable.
2016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cuban government stance on Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrencies. on: May 28, 2019, 03:17:45 AM
As for me, even if they would have internet access or contact outside their country, it will still take time for them to access cryptocurrency. They will be needing time to study about its purpose and the function of it. It will still take a long process of learning. I wonder if they would have an interest in crypto market if their technology hasn't been well developed.

Cuba is a very interesting country and right now people have already access to the internet (started last December 2018) which can be opening doors for cryptocurrency market to slowly evolve. Right now, I think there is no official stance from the government whether they have the inclination to make cryptocurrency legal or banned (just like China). Will this mean that people will soon demand from the government to allow them to join the cryptocurrency movement? Most likely the government will not allow such a thing.

Here is an interesting read on the same topic: https://bitcoinnews.com/internet-comes-to-cuba-will-cubans-comes-to-crypto/

Cuba is a country ruled by leaders who do not believe so much on an open market and the government controlled almost all aspects of the people's lives. I think this is a situation that cryptocurrency will not grow and flourish though the potential is really there.
2017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will NBA teams start paying Bitcoin to their players? on: May 28, 2019, 03:06:39 AM
I know this is crazy for non-Bitcoiners, but for me, it's a possibility. I came across an article from Bitcoinist about NFL players preferring to get paid in Bitcoin than fiat money. They're joining the revolution.
Source: https://bitcoinist.com/pay-in-bitcoin-nfl-players-join-russell-okung/
In the NBA, the Sacramento Kings are the first NBA team to accept Bitcoin payments via BitPay, and Golden State Warriors' sponsor, Rakuten, bought a crypto exchange. I wonder when NBA players will start doing their own revolution by forcing their respective teams to pay them in Bitcoin? I would love to see this coming, but what are your thoughts on this one guys. Any feedback will be appreciated. Cheers!

Bitcoin is now getting to be a very attractive way to get paid even for sportsmen and soon this can be the in thing with celebrities. I hope Bitpay will do a campaign for people in the whole entertainment industry (including sports) to prefer bitcoin as the mode of payment of their professional services. This would be fun and can contribute a lot towards mainstream adoption as these people are influencers. I do welcome this development, if ever this is coming through.
2018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this even possible Craig Wright? WTF!?! REVERSE BITCOIN HARD FORK (RBH) on: May 28, 2019, 02:49:45 AM
I think craig wright got the idea when cz mentioned a couple of weeks ago he wanted to reverse the blockchain so to get back those 7,000 btc stolen from his exchange. It was something nobody wanted to happen or could even be achieved in some discussions.
Csw at it again with the absurd and unknown to garner even more attention away from bitcoin and its blockchain. Roll Eyes

That is probably what is happening here. CW is a man of publicity and attention and he is open to any idea to further his own sick dramatics. The man has the capacity to entertain absurd idea even for the sake of being talked about. As to that "Reverse Bitcoin Hardfork" called GoldCoin I think they can do whatever they wish for that blockchain and we in bitcoin will not be affected. Seems people these days are disconnected with realities and workable technologies.
2019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rush money and BITCOIN on: May 28, 2019, 02:38:25 AM
Rush money is part of the economic crisis.  Rush money is a process when all people to take a large amount of money they save in a bank.
the impact of the Rush money process is that global inflation.  and the bank's financial system will be destroyed.

I think 'rush money' here refers to another term which is 'bank run' which can happen when depositors are getting their money from the bank on big volume which can of course affect operation of the banks. Bank run is usually bad for the economy as banks are playing pivotal role in daily transactions within the country and internationally. There are reasons why a bank run can happen but the foremost of them all is the lack of trust and confidence with the system. Now, I have a problem connecting that to bitcoin as the same can never happen here.
2020  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10000 is just around the corner it seems. on: May 28, 2019, 02:26:33 AM
Looking from the amount we surged over the weekend I think now it is settling down since it is staying at $8800 for the time being.
With the work week and markets opening again it seems it has paused the spike up in price until we get some good news pertaining to bitcoin to make it reach $9000 again then we can talk about reaching $10,000 at this point.

Maybe bitcoin is just waiting one big news or two that can trigger it to go beyond the $9,000 zone and possibly even go as high as $10,000 and from where there is that possible slump as people might be cashing in at this level (or do some profit-taking). One analyst after another are already predicting that bitcoin can go on ramping this time as there is still remaining fire within its belly. Let's see how things will turn out to be...will the expectations come true or are we in for a big disappointment?
