EDIT: If want the full story why I haven't paid the bounty yet, please PM me. I originally posted it here, but I decided it is too personal to leave out in the open. Please PM me and I will send you my original post here.
2042  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CryptoVest Physical Litecoins (Metal Alloy & Chocolate Coins)- They're here!!!! on: November 23, 2013, 03:39:34 AM
Hi all,

The free coins have all been claimed now. Thank you for your interest and support. I am interested in your opinions of the product, please post it on my main thread here: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,1940.0.html

I was going to include some chocolate Litecoins in the package.. but chocolate goes bad in 2-3 months and I've had them for a while, so they aren't very good anymore. They are a lot harder than they used to be and taste a little funny. I will have to order some more. I have an idea about putting a link to Litecoin.org under the hologram and making them really cheap so you could hand them out to strangers on the street or something to spread the word. Smiley

I worked really hard on the website last night, am working on it tonight, and I will finish it this weekend. I will then be only accepting orders through the web site. The price is going up to $1.98 so I can pay for an employee and for extra packaging costs I didn't think about. So, those that ordered extra coins during the promotion got a pretty good deal. I am working on the logistics of the loaded coins... I am adding extra security features which need to be fully tested. Also I need to get a bullet proof, safe, system in order to generate/load the coins as safely as possible. I don't expect them to be ready for a month or two. For now only unloaded coins will be for sale.

Thanks again guys, I hope you realize I'm not making hardly any money on these at all. After selling all 4000 coins I will have made about $2000 compare that to Smoothies/Casascius' profit and it's like night and day, they are pretty much robbing you guys blind (hopefully smoothie doesn't start a flame war, but it is the truth.) I only make about $0.50 usd a coin. Who knows how long it will take me to sell that many... I am doing it to spread the word about Litecoin. I want you to give these as gifts and introduce people to Litecoin. Physical cryptocoins should be used to promote Litecoin, not only for personal collections. I hope these are cheap enough where you can do just that. Give them for bithdays, holidays, etc.. lets get Litecoin going viral.

Thank you,

Ch

I think we can all agree that the VE post is FUD until he provides further proof.

2045  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hashfast Wholesale? on: November 21, 2013, 05:51:22 AM
Hard to take seriously without additional data.  Who want to pose as Boss Hogg and give them a call, demanding terms on 500 boards yesterday?

Lol.. reminds me of when I contacted Cointerra. That didn't go over so well though, they wouldn't sell anything to me at a price that would ROI even in bulk, so I walked away. I have a feeling HashFast would have a similar outcome.

Maybe it didn't help that I played hard ball... "my way or the highway" type of thing. They chose the highway. Cheesy
2046  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: November 21, 2013, 05:22:06 AM
Shipping confirmation received for RMAs ! Thanks Dave and Yvonne !

What happens now? Was I already supposed to ship back the defective hardware (I haven't done so yet), or should I do it when I receive the replacement cards?
2047  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnC news on: November 21, 2013, 05:19:32 AM
KnC was talking about a Scrypt product for a while -- has anyone heard anything more about this?

Not sure, but the first Scrypt FPGA built for Litecoin is already available for sale. I'm not sure if this is a scam or not yet though, but it looks promising. Supposedly they've already shipped some units and have a video of the prototype: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,6401.0.html
2048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 21, 2013, 05:14:16 AM

And whats up with the deposit multipliers.. it seems kind of sketchy. I like the way MasterCoin was started better... no multipliers at all, there was a direct linear correlation to the number of BTC sent in and the number of MasterCoins received.

This is incorrect. Mastercoin was issued at a rate of 100 msc/btc, with a bonus from 40% to 0% depending on how early you sent Bitcoins to the Exodus address.

Thank you for correcting me, I was not aware. This makes me look at Mastercoin in a different light also...

Thanks for the answers.. this is a long thread. I'll have to look into this more when I have some time. Smiley

What makes this better than MasterCoin?

Sorry bro Smiley

All the 5970s are gone. I was tired of them sitting around and gave some deals. I am also tired of the other stuff sitting around in the OP, feel free to make me an offer that you think I'll refuse. I might surprise you. Cheesy
2052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [INFO] Getting Started with Litecoin Mining [INFO] on: November 21, 2013, 12:03:31 AM
Wow.. this is way old. Updated a few pools.. But it still works for CPU mining

Thanks for the post!... but there is a new way to do it (integrated ATIs)?

If i will do mining with pure CPU this is still the best way?

GPU is the best way to go at the moment. CPUs are much slower and less efficient.

FPGAs seem like they're around the corner, but I'm not sure when they'll get here for consumers. I think maybe jasinlee and co. are doing an IPO.. something similar to ASICMINER. That is another option as well, or you can wait for consumer mining FPGAs to become available. There is a company or two already accepting pre-orders, but I can't vouch as to the validity of them... they could be scams for all I know. I would be careful about where you park your money for FPGAs, when Bitcoin ASICs/FPGAs came out there were a lot of scam artists that popped up.

I am interested in your Corsair AX1200, 5850s and 5970s.

What are you looking to get for each of those? Thanks!

I just sold the last of the AX1200's today, sorry about that.

I'd do $55 shipped for a 5850 and $100 shipped for a 5970

Bargain prices guys, come and get 'em.  Smiley

where we going from here? btcchina back under 5k cny.... wonder if we see more downward pressure soon

That's a triple bull trap we're seeing now. Is that even a term? rofl...  Cheesy

I wouldn't be surprised to see it at $300-$400 in a few days, this is my first guess. My second guess is that $500 may be the floor, there would have to be a 10k sell off to get there. I wouldn't be surprised to see that either.

By the way, I have no idea what I'm talking about. However, I have called the last two bubbles within a day or so of the bubble happening. Maybe it's luck. Wink

It looks like my first guess will probably be more correct. We chewed through that 10k wall a lot faster than I thought we would. I should of gone with my instincts. Smiley

Disregard the pricing in the OP- Bitcoin has gone up so much so the prices don't reflect the true value of the products. I am going to go through and delete the prices now- feel free to give me an offer on whatever you'd like.
2059  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CryptoVest Physical Litecoins (Metal Alloy & Chocolate Coins)- They're here!!!! on: November 20, 2013, 01:30:56 AM
Bump- 12 free coins left, please PM me shipping info and I will calculate shipping for you. If you only want the free coin, shipping has been about $3-$4 usd within the USA.

I am finishing up with the website. I'm almost done with the written content and am meeting up with my sister who is a semi-professional photographer to get some good images of assembled coins and for artwork on the website. I am still expecting to have the website up and running & taking orders by the end of this week.

They never did answer the question regarding sales/income tax, which seems rather important.

They answered this yesterday. The IRS is actively working on rules for virtual currencies, but they are not done with the guidance yet. No one will know until this guidance is released.
