I have seen that due to slow progress of project, many good one become dump and pump. The method provided by op may work but it involves various parties including Paypal and we all know paypal chargeback is a game spoiler.

But if you hold them for say 5 years,then even these domains will become more valuable

Not sure. If I am not mistaken they already have a program/app for it. Just think there was not enough publicity for it to catch. The one thing thought that will keep me from entering the second ico round though is the lack of thread activity. We all understand that the ico failed but there should still be updates etc on the project regardless. It's not like the btc was needed to fund development.
