2121  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with 'Selling early' regrets? on: January 19, 2021, 03:39:14 PM
As the type of scalping trader who takes no big profits, I myself don't care about large increases. the most important thing is when the Profit Target has been reached I will sell it. there is still time to be able to produce at a later time than I have to wait for the increase again. because I rely on tradng to get a monthly income. on average every 1 - 2 days have reached the target or hit a Stop Lose  Cheesy
How do you deal with price going from 10k to 40k? I am pretty sure that scalping still made profit since the price was going up, but people who hold their coins made about 4x return in the same time, do you think scalpers made 4x as well?

I am not talking about specifically you, you may have made more or less than that, I just wanted to ask did you find the method great during this period as well? Considering you make a monthly income from trading, you must be really good at it, what do you think is the best method you have seen so far? Is it scalping?

I personally do not really like risking my money with scalping because I am not good at it, I realize that scalping might be good for some but you have to be good at it, if you are a newbie like me and go into scalping that easily, it would be really not a good idea so I try to stay away from it.
2122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 19, 2021, 02:52:47 PM
Also read it in a lot of Dutch news sites. Too bad he doesn't finish his career at Ajax. The chance of being champion with Ajax is bigger then stay in de bundesliga with Schalke.
In other regular situations I am sure Huntelaar would have ended his career at Ajax if nothing else happened, however Schalke is not looking good this year and they are reaching to him as a savior for them, and probably offered him more than just money, probably some coaching chances at youth teams and all (which I am sure ajax probably did as well) and other stuff, but going to a team to save them versus staying with a team to be champions are different feelings.

When you are so sure about championship and you know that you are not the reason for it, giving yourself a challenge must feel a lot better, plus this guy has lived so many success in his life, I am sure another championship wasn't really that big of a deal, but if he goes to Schalke and manages to help the team not relegate and they stay at Bundesliga another season? That would be awesome ending for him.
2123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 19, 2021, 09:51:26 AM
This week could be another chance for Bayern to get away more from their closest opponents in the table. Because there are 2 tough games which are Leverkusen-Dortmund and Leipzig-Union Berlin. My guesses for these games are like this:

Leverkusen-Dortmund => Draw
Leipzig-U. Berlin => Leipzig
Augsburg-Bayern => Bayern
That is four teams in a row as well, Leverkusen got a loss from Union berlin and Dortmund a tie from mainz while Leipzig got a tie from Wolfsburg. The closest team to Bayern that got three points this week was Union Berlin at 5th place and there is 8 point difference between them so it wasn't even a big deal. In a week with only 4 wins, 3 aside from Bayern, they have capitalized a great deal of points from this week for sure yet we are talking about only 4 point difference between them and Leipzig so we can't say too much for now.

Obviously speaking when we are talking about Bayern, they could have been 10 point behind the first team right now and I would say they still have a chance because Bayern could do that, in a situation where they area 4 points ahead, it is very very difficult job for any team to come back from that deficit and win the league.
2124  Economy / Speculation / Re: to sell or buy BTC? on: January 19, 2021, 08:16:19 AM
Most people I know my age have a retirement account. They pay into it with every paycheck. They're planning for the future.

Unfortunately, the same people think BTC is like a get rich quick casino, to be flipped like a hot potato.

I'm sure this popular attitude will change in time as Bitcoin becomes entrenched in the financial system and acknowledged as a legitimate store of value asset. In the meantime, there's going to be a whole lot of tears after people sell their coins at these low prices and then watch the market go parabolic.
I do not know your age so I can't really say anything about that, but I know people who are 30 years old or younger in my generation can barely live. We have learned long time ago that the money you make from your regular job is money so you do not die.

Paychecks are for regular stuff like bills and food and that sort of thing, if you ever want to have money you have to chase all those potentials in life, maybe it is crypto, maybe it is uber, maybe it is something else that would make you money, or maybe it is starting a new digital side gig, who knows?

If you ever want to have a decent life that you would be happy with you have to end up finding something that will make you rich and get lucky, countless others do not have that chance and all end up living a boring life and die that's it. So long story short having a retirement account is a luxury for people who are under 30, or at least that is like that for me and people I know.
2125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nocoiners desperately trying to say this is the end for Bitcoin on: January 18, 2021, 03:56:51 PM
I Think it was CNBC that made a news article saying something along the lines of "BTC lost 20% so now its in a bear market". However those CNBC analyst need to realise that BTC is not like a stock indicies like SP500 or DOW 30. Generally when the stock market corrects >20% its considered a bear market. That is the trend percentage pretty much. Not normal for SP500 to lose 20% in a single day unless its some flash crash. BTC is completely different and it can lose 20% multiple times of the year.

Yes it was a brutal day when it lost $10K within 24 hours however in percentage terms its only 28% and we had this dips many times in the previous 2017 bull market. Its the same story, it keeps rising and rising, go people go full leverage and there is a cascade of stops which ends up liquidating all the longs and the pattern repeats itself yet again.
There was a bloomberg speaker who said "ethereum is now nearing under 1k price that it hasn't been since early 2017" in a speech about crypto. Yes these are the same people who talk about finances on television and dude basically checked the all time high price and saw that it was over 1.5k 3-4 years ago and he assumed that price went from being 1.5k in 2017 to being 1k in 2021, that is what he thought.

There was a lot hate tweets towards him all during the program and dude got mad and yelled "how can anyone be filled with this much hate, it must be a sad life if you are always this angry" without even acknowledging the fact that he straight up "lied" about the price. So, basically if these people talk about crypto in the mainstream media, they will just keep on spreading misinformation all day everyday and that is what we should try to avoid.
2126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can BTC go down to <$5k again now? on: January 18, 2021, 02:53:59 PM
I am sure there is a double edged sword for big companies to end up selling. First of all if they sell a lot, they will drop the price of bitcoin, however if they drop the price of bitcoin they could once again use all their money to buy it back and both increase the price and also have more of bitcoins once again. So long story short it is a great idea for companies to sell their coins here and there time to time to drop the price of bitcoin in order to accumulate even more of it later on without spending extra money.

However I do not think that they would sell their coins and get out that easily, a lot of these wall street type of companies have probably thousands of things they invest into and they keep some of them for decades and decades long because as long as you hold a successful asset, why would you want to get rid of it as long as you profit from it.
2127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with crypto for government services on: January 18, 2021, 08:48:13 AM
I would be happy just to be able to pay my bills with crypto, that would be such a huge move. I think the payment of my water bill, electricity bill, gas bill, heating bill, phones and internet would be more than enough. If I could pay those in crypto that would allow me to have a bit of crypto aside to pay for those and I can turn into part-time crypto person.

Right now I either use fiat and have crypto savings, or I am full fiat, because I can't have crypto to spend, last time I truly spent crypto was going to a vacation in 2017 using my crypto and that's it, never spent anything on crypto after that (except my vps but that existed long time before that and keeps going and only 5 bucks a month). Having some of your payments in crypto would allow people to spend crypto and make crypto a bit more like currency and a bit less fully an investment.
2128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOT [Polkadot] Speculation on: January 18, 2021, 03:50:30 AM
Dot is still going up and that shows how good it is. When it first came out and it was top 10 the moment it came out everyone talked about how overpriced it was and it will go down and all that, and polkadot showed the world that it wasn't some fake token that "looked" bad, it was some great token and it was always like that and that is how it kept going up. We are talking about going above XRP, and I understand that XRP had some bad days in the recent weeks, with SEC putting into an investigation it is obvious that it wasn't going to be good so it dropped a lot.

However it is also another thing to be basically over a coin that has been around nearly as long as bitcoin itself. Only ethereum and litecoin has achieved this so far and polkadot has become the third one to ever do it. I would say even if it doesn't keep going like this forever, I know it will probably be top 10 coin for a looong time.
2129  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why not decentralized exchange..? on: January 17, 2021, 06:51:02 PM
Decentralized exchanges are growing to be more than just exchanges and that is what will make them a lot bigger than any other centralized exchange out there in the world. Right now people can actually deal with pancakeswap type of places and not only they can exchange their money there, they can also make money there as well.

Think about it, on centralized exchange you give your money to someone and they use it to make a lot of money and they just allow you to trade and that's it, on decentralized exchanges you do not give ownership of your money to someone and you just end up using that money to make money from other stuff like staking and all. This is why I think it is obvious that centralized exchanges will take over for sure, it is not going to be very quick and it is not going to be easy but they will definitely become much bigger in the future.
2130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with 'Selling early' regrets? on: January 17, 2021, 06:21:14 PM
By rebuying? People mocked to people who bought at 10k, sold at 20k and rebought at 30k, but that is how you should do in bitcoin world. Think about it this way, if you end up with early selling, would you rather stay away from bitcoin forever and do nothing about it? Or would you rather get back in right away and hope that it keeps going higher? I personally would prefer to get bitcoin when I can and end up making a bit of profit from it, that way I could profit from my mistake but make less profit instead of zero profit.

However if you end up selling and not rebuying, you will be just watching the market as the price keeps going up and you are there with your money and just keep losing more and more profits you could have made. I am not saying sell early, I would say keep it as long as you can afford to keep it, but if you ever sell early, just rebuy.
2131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When Do You Take Profit From Your Altcoin Bags? on: January 17, 2021, 05:14:51 PM
I always look for the potential of the coin that I'm holding and learn about its possible movements. I always make sure to buy when the price is low and set a target goal. Once I reach my target price after holding, I usually sell my alts because sometimes being too greedy or expecting more could lead to regrets in the future.

Most cases of losing investment is being greedy.

Instead of taking profits you think that the value will ris for more and eventually you'll realize that you missed the ride and the price start to fall, best thing to always do is to have your set goals, both with profits or loses you should have  a set plans to avoid losing your money and regrets that you missed the opportunities to take good amount of benefits from the projects/coins that you invested in,.
I think holding an altcoin for a very long time even after it goes up super high has other options then being greedy. Obviously there are some greedy people who want to see it go higher and higher and forget to sell and when it crashes they lose money, however there are people who believe in the future of the project as well who will let it be too.

Personally I have few alts where I keep it and I will continue to keep it and I will not sell it, mainly eth and bnb has been awesome and I do not care if they do 10x more from here, and I am serious if ethereum becomes 10k dollars, I will still hold it, because I believe in the future of it and non-stop increase of it, so I want to leave some to my children as well when I die. So, not selling is not always about money, it is about principle and goal of keeping it as long as you do not need it.
2132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEfi Hype Trends! This is not something you expect, go before you get stuck FOMO on: January 17, 2021, 04:00:18 PM
Defi is a little different from ICO, but has a structure that is "almost" the same. what must be emphasized is that if you want to invest in a defi, especially by using DEx, you must really do a thorough research, because everyone can create tokens and also list on dex
I believe defi projects do not even require investment all that much, I have seen so many projects who just start like any regular project without getting any funding but as people keep using it, the project keeps making money on it. So instead of getting money once from investors and that's it just like ICO, defi projects figured out they could not ask for money, build something, give it to people and keep making money forever.

Some of them didn't get any money from anyone and just got funding from foundations and let it be and removed themselves because that would be true decentralized, but some of them just kept making money from the project too. I believe that is the biggest difference, defi projects needs to keep improving constantly or they will not make any profit, so people have incentive to help improve it constantly to make money.
2133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your price expectations for 2021 on: January 16, 2021, 03:38:01 PM
Honest to god I really want 50k, that is the only goal I have right now because it feels like a big milestone if you ask me. Think about it, bitcoin reaching 50k would be a big news, obviously what we have right now is newsworthy as well but that doesn't mean that it is enough, we need it to go up a lot more and 50k is... I don't know just a special number. Those type of 10k, 25k, 50k, 100k type of numbers just feels special for some reason.

We have gone above 25k very very quickly and didn't even get stuck, 10k was a big issue, thankfully we are way above that, and I believe 50k will be a bit hard to reach as well but if we can manage to do that, we are going to have so much fun with it, every news outlet in the world will make the news of bitcoin reaching 50k and we are going to end up with a lot more people in the crypto community thanks to that as well.
2134  Economy / Speculation / Re: INSTITUTIONAL MONEY changes everything !!! How BitCoin gets to 100,000 Next on: January 16, 2021, 01:58:48 PM
I am not sure what cycle it will be but people are reacting as if 100k is a lot more than what we can achieve quickly and I do not get why. I get that going higher would require a lot more money than previously needed, but if we can do x12 in a year, we damn sure could do x2.5 at higher prices as well.

The amount of money needed for bitcoin to go from 3.6k price (which it reached during march dump) to 40k is about x11 to x12 depending on where you put the peak, and that is a huge sum of money needed (over 10 billion just from grayscale alone) as well, now from 40k to 100k we need only x2.5 increase and obviously it is a lot harder x2.5 increase, for example going from 10k to 25k is not the same as going from 40k to 100k, I get that. However at the end of the day we are comparing 4k to 40k increase to 40k to 100k increase so it should be a bit more possible.
2135  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to avoid as a beginner in trading Bitcoin? on: January 15, 2021, 06:26:28 PM
Many things that beginners should avoid, and you already know by reading from the other members. But in trading, you should not panic, greedy, use all-in of your money, will be the things that you must avoid. If you can learn more about the basic things of trading, you will know by yourself what you should avoid in trading. Do not chase a bigger profit if you can not do that because that market will not always increase, and you should prepare for the downtrend.
The simple concepts like that are said constantly because those are the things newbies make the most mistakes about. I have seen a lot of my friends who jumped into bitcoin with all the money they have saved aside for example, thankfully bitcoin kept going up, and they are happy about it but it might have crashed too.

I have 3 friends who put up total of 50 thousand dollars between them and bought bitcoin when it was 24k, I warned them not to because it was already too height and it could have crashed, but it went to 40k instead, they still haven't sold but they mock me who have been in bitcoin for 7 years about being wrong, they do not realize how dangerous what they did was. In short people do make mistakes when they are new and they could even get lucky and make some profit but that doesn't mean what they did was wrong and dangerous.
2136  Economy / Speculation / Re: to sell or buy BTC? on: January 15, 2021, 03:32:42 PM
I would say right now is to hold period. If you do not have any bitcoin, do not buy a lot, if you want you could get in like 50-100 bucks if you want to but that's it, do not get in too much, only like 5% of your money that you can spend right now.

Secondly and more importantly we are talking about not selling right now, if you have bitcoin, do not sell it, because it may still go higher, and if you want to sell you can still wait for it to crash and sell before it crashes, instead of selling right now.

All of these together would be a lot better. That is the point right now, it is the point of "do not buy a lot, but if you have it do not sell a lot neither" period, which is a difficult situation to be in as well. I personally think it is quite nice that we are this high, and as long as we can stay at this price there is nothing to worry about, even if we do not go higher.
2137  Economy / Speculation / Re: bearish divergence on: January 14, 2021, 05:40:55 PM
Being bearish in a bullish market means you should expect to be wrong on every idea and probability as even if correct short term the trend resolves to the longer term time frame.   Market does have a bullish trend which its exceeded and become exponential in its look, to speculate when that might end or reset is again hard to do.    However we do appear to be moving higher with lower volume here, though this might vary by exchange so I venture this as a working idea rather then a conclusion and mostly thats my process anyhow.

Someone said the best ideas are drawn with crayons so with no shame I stay simple in that respect :p      Not sure if we are due a further revision in the range down to 30k then perhaps or it can just resolve over time also not just price.
I feel it is all about the liquidity and right now liquidity doesn't look that bad at all. Above 40k doesn't have too much resistance, which means we could go there easily, but under until 30k there is not a strong support neither, so it means we could go there as well. Obviously it is going to take some time to reach any of that, but we are going to end up seeing a huge change no matter which direction we go to.

I believe that bearish movement people would be eventually right, maybe now or maybe later but they will eventually be right, bitcoin can't keep going up forever, eventually it will have to either stay the same and become a bit stable or it will have to fall. That is why I am not going all in with bitcoin, I am doing DCA right now and that means I have a chance to either sell higher or I can keep buying lower which is the best option I have right now.
2138  Economy / Economics / Re: Warren Buffett & "Rat Poison" on: January 14, 2021, 03:49:58 PM
I think you are mistaking one thing about him that everyone forgets. Dude invests only into stuff that he thinks undervalued and has intrinsic value that is higher than the stock price. His mentor was Benjamin Graham who wrote the intelligent investor and for all his life Warren Buffet never made an investment that was overvalued or had no intrinsic value at all, for example he has been friends with Bill Gates for over 2 decades now, and he has never invested to microsoft, but he did invested to apple, why? Because, he believed there was a value and the stock was undervalued.

Bitcoin doesn't really have a specific value, we put a value in it, and that is why he will never understand why we buy it, because in the end we are not doing this investment just for profit (there might be some) but we are doing it because we want to get away from fiat and he may not understand that ever.
2139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could this correction lead to a bear market for Bitcoin? on: January 14, 2021, 09:50:25 AM
Do we think that this could happen now or should we just ride it out and expect a quick return to business as usual?
Could it? Of course it could have, but it looks like it is not going that direction at all. I personally think there is really nothing to worry about as of right now, as you can see things are doing great and price recovered a lot anyway, so we are doing quite well.

However we are still not sure about how good we will go and how long it will go on neither, maybe it will be great for now, maybe it will be good for a while, maybe it will do another round of correction, we really don't know what is going to happen and when it will happen. This is why I suggest everyone to stay away from going all in, there is no reason why people should go in, it is smarter to put in a bit of money now, a bit of money later, wait a bit to see what is going on, that way you would be a lot better in the end, and that is what I think should every investor do during these type of movements.
2140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I am not investing in Bitcoin, I am staying with Altcoins on: January 13, 2021, 01:42:14 PM
Now those altcoiners are making some noise now because bitcoin is going down as of this moment but to think that we are still up in 30k plus on price then that wont be considered to be bad.

If we do try to look back, we are just looking for bitcoin to break its 20k ath and 30k or even 40k is already too much for as to ask but bitcoin did really able to reach that.

When it comes to choices neither you do like to invest with altcoins than with bitcoin then its your choice but majority or the entire community do know on which one
is really worth when it comes to future possible price potential.
I honestly do not think that alts are going up neither, they went down with bitcoin so there is really no benefit to be in bitcoin or altcoin, they are the same result. This doesn't mean you should be in bitcoin, this doesn't mean you should be in altcoins neither, it just means that we are in a crypto connection world where every single crypto acts together.

This is why we should not advice people to go with alts only, we should not advice people to go with bitcoin only, people should have a portfolio that is diversified so that we could make a profit. Think about it this way, if we have 100% as our base, if you have 40% as bitcoin, 20% as ETH, and the other 40% divided into 8 coins for 5% each, eventually you are going to have a very healthy base, and that way you could make a decent investment into many things and will not miss out on anything.
