potential of Datacoin

potential? none. but if you like high risk gambling, you can buy ;-)

same things people were saying about litecoin which actually have none usability at all while datacoin seems to at least have a purpose

Edit: The coin doesnt have a pool yet which makes it difficult to mine. When pool comes out these days is going to be the most profitable one for a while...
2145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Datacoin] Datacoin blockchain start announcement (Minor code upd + logo) on: December 13, 2013, 05:23:14 PM
I tried to solo mine for about 12 hours but i got no block Sad But anyway its just a plain laptop.

wow such money

1 doge = $1 USD

You don't understand how economics works. Hardcap is 100 billion dogecoin. Just because there are more coins in existence does not mean you will be rich. It will NEVER reach to dollar parity. EVER.

If it reach to dollar parity, that's about entire America military budget.

get out. doge will sacced. luk hhere  http://cdn0.dailydot.com/uploaded/images/original/2013/12/10/xwgkYny.jpg

much wow!

What happens when something really dangerous is stored in the blockchain and lets say the Goverments want it out?

Is it possible to just ban Datacoin? Will people need to use tor? How easy is to stop Datacoin?
Answers are the same as for Bitcoin. If governments want, they can ban everything. But it is possible to organize getting\storing info from\to Datacoin if there is at least one country where it is not banned. Simple service working via I2P\Tor that has simple API for getting\storing data, that's it.

What is the community though about stuff like plastic gun blueprints, copyrighted stuff like movies and CP?

What i want to understand is what stops someone from trolling the whole coin by posting CP everywhere?

I answered this question many times. But now I have another argument. Do you use Bitcoin? Look here: http://www.btcpedia.com/ped0-links-in-bitcoin-blockchain/
so 2.5 Mb of Wikileaks can be only one piece. Are you sure that there are no 2.5Mb pictures or even short video with CP in Bitcoin?
It didn't stop anyone from using Bitcoin, and for Datacoin it should be the same.

i am asking because i am interested. i didnt know that about bitcoin. Interesting. But a new question came to my mind with your answer. If bitcoin can also do this why do we need datacoin? In what aspect it is better for storing data?

bitcoin is not designed for data storage, it needs a lot of non-trivial operations to store data in BTC blockchain. It's like - you can write web server using Assembler, but nobody does it, or creates very simple app just as proof-of-concept

If you also tell me what we know about our developer you have almost persuaded me Smiley

2158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Gridcoin" - A viable idea? on: December 12, 2013, 01:13:22 AM
Ok. I will admit that i dont know many things about programming.

I tell you again i love the idea. I really do and i tried to mine some gridcoins.

But i think i remember somewhere someone saying that you can easily make boinc thinking that it is using all your power while it isnt. And he wasnt the only one.

Now as i said again i am not an expert but  unfortunately i am inclined to believe, maybe other coin devs and trolls persuaded me, that its extremely easy to be done.

Now really make me believe the opposite and i will help with all my power the coin cause i believe in computers actually making work than just heat.

Asyr please send me a link to read about those measures.
