Create the coin from the start. Make a new thread about it. Dont premine anything. If it is possible have a windows client ready. Actually you must have a windows client ready!

Or if you continue this give all premine as giveaway. But all of it.
1822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zurcoin - CPU mining - like quark's algo on: December 30, 2013, 03:38:17 PM

How do i see my wallet address on linux? I have to vps mining it and i want to send from one to another. Obviously i dont do it for the coin since it is broken but to learn using linux and solo mining.
1825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining--Best Coins? on: December 30, 2013, 03:10:40 PM
I am mining Datacoin since i believe is undervalued and will have better price when more people know about it. Still isnt on cryptsy.
1826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zurcoin - CPU mining - like quark's algo on: December 30, 2013, 03:08:56 PM
probably not
its not my intention to put it in an exchange

If you just want to ask someone why difficulty is stuck why dont you write that on first post but instead just anouncing a new coin?
1827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zurcoin - CPU mining - like quark's algo on: December 30, 2013, 02:48:16 PM
for setting it and starting mining i think you must do something like this:

cd
mkdir -p .zurcoin
echo 'server=1
gen=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
addnode=50.116.55.60
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass'> .zurcoin/zurcoin.conf

and then

zurcoind --daemon

And for balance and info:

watch 'zuracoind listaccounts & zurcoind getmininginfo'

First 4 miners on mmcpool have above 1000HPM.

How can be possible without gpu mining?
It is about 500 pcs 4770k each one.... Shocked Shocked Shocked

and 1gh.com support MMC GPU mining.
my R9 280X = 25hpm!! overclocked

that means that MMC is not a cpu coin anymore?
1831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Datacoin] Datacoin blockchain start announcement (Minor code upd + logo) on: December 30, 2013, 12:33:23 PM
Meanwhile cryptsy ignored our request to add DTC. It added CAT, LOT and some other scam instead.
sad Sad

It will happen eventually... I think now its time to ask vicurex again and maybe other exchanges.
1832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which DTC pool do you use? on: December 30, 2013, 09:31:07 AM
Xpool because we need to lower the power of gpool.  What do you mean by shady?
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Datacoin is the most useful coin of all right now! Support it! on: December 30, 2013, 02:47:31 AM
Refreshing to see a coin with some innovative features amongst all the obnoxious clones.

Throwing down .35btc on Datacoin.  Congratulations on your successful .35btc pump here, Greekbro.

I am glad i persuaded you! Tongue I believe your investment will pay back soon! there is a 4BTC order right now at 0.00065 on Bter (thats quite big for Datacoin now).
And anyway you are supporting a coin that is not completely useless for sure!
1834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Datacoin is the most useful coin of all right now! Support it! on: December 29, 2013, 05:45:47 PM

I do not think you answered my question.

How does the Bitcoin blockchain store CP directly on a client user's hard drive?

How does the Bitcoin blockchain directly distribute CP?
[/quote]

According to a guy on reddit:

"The process of getting the data into the blockchain is effectively steganography, the hiding of one piece of data within another. The data is neither catalogued nor readily accessible - it goes through base64 encoding and needs to be addressed using a key, and is sandwiched inbetween a bunch of other blockchain data. The fact nobody really knows the full content of most blockchains in entirety owes to the complex and vast nature of the data, and this would be no different."

But please read everything on the technical thread about Datacoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.0

How much space does the blockchain take up right now?

Is the blockchain going to take up an obnoxious amount of space with this coin?

I think right now it is 140Mb. See the OP for the second question or the technical thread maybe.
1835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Datacoin is the most useful coin of all right now! Support it! on: December 29, 2013, 05:36:18 PM
Most known criticism answer:
Q1: What if illegal stuff on the blockchain??
A1: Namecoin blockchain already has CP and bitcoin already has illegal stuff on it and at least links for CP/wikileaks files but who knows what more. So the common question of "what happens when someone posts CP" has no meaning since what happens to Datacoin can happen to Bitcoin too.

Except, wouldn't users be storing CP directly on their local hard drive?

My understanding is that they would also be distributing it as well.

I may be mistaken.

Its the same with bitcoin blockchain! If you have the client on your PC its the same for both coins. If you want you dont use the client on you PC but you use online wallets for both and there is no problem.
1836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Datacoin is the most useful coin of all right now! Support it! on: December 29, 2013, 05:24:26 PM
It is really innovative - storing the data in the blockchain without needing to resort to things like encoding the data in addresses of 1-satoshi transactions, etc .... but the question is, whether there is demand for such storage, since google drive and others give you 25 GB for free and while there is not such high availability, this is "good enough" for most of the people ...

I guess we need some killer app or killer cause (censorship in china? post your news into DTC blockchain ....) to get this running seriously ....

google drive etc still require some sort of name, email etc. Datacoin is far more anonymous in my opinion.

And also companies are prone to censorship....If you store piratebay on google drive it will stay there?
1837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DTC-Guide to Pool Mine Datacoins.Earn 0.5-2 or more $ per day with your cpu! on: December 29, 2013, 05:20:08 PM
I changed that about the packages. I was thinking of simplicity but you are probably right.

I tested it on Ubuntu 13.10 and 13.04 and Debian 7 . One of those doesnt need sudo i think. Anyway i hope that all those that have linux for their PCs already can find out some things by themselves for other distros...
1838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MemoryCoin 2.0 (MMC) - 5 Positions Available - $360/day on: December 29, 2013, 05:09:34 PM
So if i have some PTS on cryptsy what should i do?
1839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Datacoin is the most useful coin of all right now! Support it! on: December 28, 2013, 08:54:50 PM
DTC is my go to coin. Anyone with an introduction in marketing or business is aware that innovation resulting in unique features leads to a good product. If not good, potentially good and potential is good enough for me so far. The coin is still young so regarding it's age I can understand is has not been picked up by a exchange yet. It is the lack of awareness and support that baffles me. That said, when EAC is listed, DTC should be listed.

Giveaways seems to be the way to go, but it's hard to compete against coins that issues X million(practically worthless) units in one week. Especially when all what new users seems to care about is the number of coins they can get their hands on, and not the value of the total product(the coin as a whole).

The forum is in need of more traffic. The giveaways by @maxsolnc and @KeyserSozeMC were really good. If the next giveaway has the receiver join the DTC forum we would get more people on board. Though I am not sure how many would stay and how many would remain active.

If anyone wants more info, visit http://datacoin.info - It is one of the most innovative coins out there with it's unique features. Uniqe = "being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else"

This is my bump.

I totally agree with you about giveaways being difficult for DTC. Right now giveaways are giving 0.5-2.5 dollars worth of DTC when Doges, EAC etc are giving penies. There is the fee also making it difficult but there is talking about lowering it.

And you idea about giving DTC through the forum is really nice! Indeed next giveaway must be through our forum (which actually needs a captcha for first 2 posts or something)

Lets see what cryptsy does the next days... Smiley
1840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Datacoin PromoThread - Information is Money, Datacoin Implements These Words! on: December 28, 2013, 08:16:15 PM
There are some good buy orders (compared with previous days at least) i think right now. And some general movement. I myself bough some hundreds yesterday. Lets see what happens.

I cant believe what are all those tiny but equal sell orders. A miner selling everytime he is mining something? or what?
