hi I'm new to mining, I installed the datacoin client on windows and let it sync, and for about 6 hours now I let it mine by just going to 'Get Coins' tab and pressing start mining. The cpu is running on 100% and I see numbers changing like chains per minute and primes per second, but I'm getting no new datacoins. how is this supposed to work and how do I mine datacoin?

you are mining solo. With my laptop i need about 10 days for a block. Maybe it is better to use a pool. http://dtc.xpool.xram.co/http://dtc.gpool.net/http://dtc.candypool.net/ this one is new and hasnt get any block yet hm, I chose the xpool.xram, downloaded their software and gave my dtc address as described on the site and been mining for several hours now. But on the site if I look for the stats of my address I get 'no user stats, or user not found'.. what am I doing wrong?  thanks. Have your mine got any share? Dont use <> on the command. I need more info. Can copy paste you command here? Windows? Linux? Which miner? |

I've been trying to promote Datacoin every chance I get. I pmed Swisscex.com, ccex, coinedup, freshmarket.in.co, coinmarket.io, poloniex. You guys can help add the pressure by doing the same. lets get Datacoin to at least 5 exchanges.
Btw....anyone knows why Datacointalk.org isn't online right now?

Comkort looks nice indeed. And it is good that more exchanges add Datacoin. We need to push more exchanges to add it. Ok cryptsy looks that ignores it for good at least for now. So i already have sent to vircurex and coinedup a couple of times. Maybe you also guys can send a nice email  P.S. Bter has no volume indeed. Prices drop really easily... |

Pool is very nice. I really like the design and the statistics. However still no block? Is there a problem? With that many workers and a peak of more than 200 workers there should be a block already...

Hi, I like this system (not just coin) However, I have 2 questions: 1. If the blockchain containing all files will be spread on each computer, part of the network, how will we deal with the huge diskspace required for this? I have just read that the current maximu upload size is 1MB, however, 1 MB per what - IP, MAC, etc...? Also I do not see how if ti is wowrking this way how people will upload let's say 500 GB or sth similar, as then the blobkchain must grow into terabytes, please, correct me if I am wrong? 2. About mining - AFAIK this is strictly CPU coin, will I get a decent return if I use 16 CPU cores from the DigitalOcean? Thanks  Datacoin doesnt target big files. The purpose is storage of small but very important files. Like wikileaks docs, torrent files, encrypted wallets or passwords, maybe banned books/blueprints... Stuff like that. But not movies. At least for now. Digital Ocean wont make you money with the current price. Its better to buy some. Personally i buy whenever i have some BTC and also mining with a few cheap vps and my computers. |

I did read what the coin was about on their website and it is nothing but a hype coin. Prove me wrong. Tell me what this coin brings to the table that is so innovative anyone outside the market will adopt it? There is nothing. Ok so the algorithm changed up a bit. Tell me how your neighbor charlie that bought a 2000$ mac to play games on facebook cares about a few lines of code change? Again, nothing innovative. Nothing but hype coin. Please prove me wrong As i said before go and ask for free innovative Doge or mine it with your neighbor charlie 2k (lol) MAC failcomputer and please let this coin with the few more no innovative according to you code lines to us |

ughhhh. Not another Hype-Coin. Besides a tweak to the algorithm there is (yet again) nothing of real value with this new coin. Wow you can find prime numbers. PrimeCoin does that. Problem is everyone is scratching and scraping to get on the next "Bitcoin" so any new coin that gets released everyone and their grandmother jumps on it.
Sure, people will make money once accepted into exchanges but after x amount of time this coin will be like all the rest. Just a few pennies in a sea of endless alt coins.
This is part of the problem. Week after week anyone with a basic programming and marketing knowledge can make the next hypecoin. There is no innovation here. You can find prime numbers? a little different way? whoop-de-do.
How do you expect your coin to get passed the hype-trade?

BTC
LTC
PrimeCoin
That is it. Ride the hype! Go for it! make some money! but for long term investors? Like myself? NO THANKS.
