I see zero point in this coin.
I don't see how any coin could stop VPSs or dedicated servers, as long as it's a coin that uses any kind of PoW or PoS. A botnet ... you could try, but it's quite the same. The point in this coin ... it's just another altcoin with a little bit different algorithm that will make it difficult initially for botnets or GPUs, with a clean launch, that's already more than most recently released coins  Well, memory coin attempted this with huge Memory requirements from the start. This coin (if i am understanding it correctly) does nothing to stop botnets at all , especially at the start. I mean the memory requirement for the intial blocks is nothing, so botnets and vps nodes can take all the easy coins as usual as is happening now?? The fact it will in the future makes it difficult to mine with gpu or asic makes it no different to the scrypt jane or even have QRK for anti gpu now?? So really again i see no point. If you used the block explorer for this coin you would see a few wallets reaping most of the coins as with most other launches. its not that easy to mine with botnets when still solo mining...so not botnets havent taken yet. and about VPS so what? people are paying to mine cause they give a value on the coin...its the same with every coin. And at least this coin unlike memorycoin didnt have a fail dev who premined 8+% of the coins.... |

I'm trying to figure out how to stop the daemon so I can restart it, I did everything as directed but it looks like I'm hashing without being connected to the network? I'm hashing, but there is zero blocks and the different is than my local pc.
write vertcoind stop in order to stop it. Then if you cant connect add more addnodes. Those worked fine for me. just add more addnodes by copy pasting the cd........conf thing with more addnodes and pressing enter. Than start again with vertcoind --daemon You are fantastic! I'm up now, wow the diff must be very high now! No found blocks yet with several computers! 84 million is a lot of coins... Why so hard right now?  My 5 VPS havent found a block for like 1 hour now so yes diff is really up. But i will continue solo mining for at least 8 hours more. I am going to sleep in a while and i will decide what i will do later...Hopefully a pool will be out |

I'm not too savvy in putty and on unix environments. I'm not entirely sure to how to watch my progress.
the last command : watch 'vertcoind listaccounts & vertcoind getmininginfo' is actually showing you your hash/s and your balance. When you mine coins your balance will automatically go to 50 or more... To send them somewhere you have to close "watch mode" with Ctrl+C and then write: vertcoind sendtoaddress Vs5LmPT42eTjwQjJ9zvktGLprzae5Yc7L2 X X is the amount you want to send. It has to be mature of course. So it may insufficient funds until coins mature. And put your address that you want to send instead of mine! |
